Cake Art Party Store! I started going here about two years ago when the baking and cake decorating bug bit me. When I first walked in, I was overwhelmed. Actually, I’m still overwhelmed. There’s so much stuff I don’t know… don’t even have a clue about… but I feel like I learn something new every single time I visit. Unfortunately, I can’t do that very often because this store makes me spend money.
Like on these things. I’m serious… this place is dangerous. I think I get a sugar high or something when I walk in … my heart starts racing … I start picking random stuff up. And when I get home, bags full… I’m like, what just happened.
But, when you see all these… in one place. You start thinking… do I have enough yellow sprinkles. I can’t remember. Okay, get some more and get some blue ones, and red ones while you’re at it.
And then, you start thinking that you can’t live without blue teddy bear sprinkles or green palm tree sprinkles, or pink pigs. And what if someone has a baby… I need those baby sprinkles or wait, boys like cupcakes… what about helmet and football sprinkles. You see where I’m going. Let’s just say that I have accumulated my fair share of sprinkles.
The funny thing is … I hardly ever use them on cupcakes or cakes. It just makes me feel good knowing I have them just in case. I know … weird! But, they do come in handy when it comes to decorating cake pops, so that’s how I justify it.
You can even buy them in bags!
Here’s something I’ve never tried… and I think I’ll leave for the pros… Airbrush! Pretty colors, though.
Speaking of colors… did you know you can buy rolled fondant that is already tinted?
I started doing this recently with red fondant because it is seriously a pain to tint it yourself and get it a deep red color.
Now, a lot of people don’t like the taste of fondant, they just like the look of it from a visual perspective. So, if you just want to experiment, then play around and buy it pre-made. Just don’t get this much. You can stick with the 1 pound packages.
Or if you really want, make some from scratch. I hear marshmallow fondant is pretty good.
Anyone need 25 lbs of buttercream frosting?
Or tinted buttercream?
Not me. I like to make my own buttercream and tint it myself. Yummy!
Need some petit four icing? Just snip the tip and go. Great for beginners.
Marzipan… I haven’t dabbled in this stuff yet, but I do like saying the name. Marzipan!
Check this out! This might just be the best part of the store. Pans! Round ones, oval ones, heart-shaped ones, square ones! And in graduated sizes, too! And different heights! Help me, please.
Tools. I love tools. Offset spatulas and flat spatulas. Thank you.
Inside these little trays are every decorating tip you can think of and some you can’t. Grab some disposable bags and couplers and you’re set.
There’s so much stuff in the store that you can miss little things like this. Petal dust and luster dust… I think I’m in love. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with it.
Need to stack a big cake? Sorry, I can’t help you… haven’t done that.
Mine are little and usually just end up on cake boards like these.
And sometimes, they get put in cake boxes. I love cake boxes. Especially the tiny ones.
Little cakes in little boxes are just the cutest!
Need some party supplies? They have that, too.
Baking cups for boys and girls.
Tons and tons of plastic cake toppers. I’ve never bought anything down this aisle…
But, this one made me laugh so hard, I almost bought it for a Mother’s Day cake. Then, I pictured myself on Cake Wrecks and stopped myself. :)
Father’s Day is around the corner, though…
Almost done… hang in there. Cookie cutters are always fun to have.
And so are these. I have this set of dual sided graduated cutters. I love them and they come in super handy when I make fondant covered cupcakes.
Gadgets galore! I can’t stand in this section too long because my pantry just isn’t big enough.
And guess what… that’s just the half of it. Actually, the 1/8th of it. I wish I could show you everything.
Coming soon… candy stuff!
Hope you guys liked looking at all that stuff and thanks Cake Art for letting me show everyone that there’s a much bigger cake world than the 9 inch cake pans I used to buy in the grocery store. And guess what guys… most of it’s easier than you think.

That store looks AMAZING. I’d have to invest in a lot more storage at the container store before going there. I want a whole drawer for cupcake wrappers, especially cute baseball ones!
OMG I would be sooooooo broke, in fact just start the bankruptcy paperwork cause if I ever get the chance to go to a store like this I would go crazy. Just ask my husband whenever I said I just need to pop into the teacher’s supplies store for stickers. Hundreds of dollars later he would say, “So what kind of sticker did you get?” HUH, stickers…oh year, I’ll be right back. Anyway, love sprinkles, and icing, and pans and party supplies stuff. I would have to say that I use my mini batter scoop alot. It makes the perfect cookie scoop, perfect mini ice cream sundae scoop, perfect mini cupcake scoop. Yeah, I love my mini scoop. So basic, I know, but the tool I really couldn’t do without? My oven! I love it.
I love brand new cake pans. They are so shiny and stain free and everything plops out perfectly. I also thinking silicone cupcake cups are a must. You lose way less crumbs popping them out.

I love, love LOVE my Icing Spatula! While simple, it really makes a huge difference when icing cakes and cupcakes.
I need sprinkles, as my stash was depleted a couple of years back for christmas cookies!
OMG… I can imagine how that store empties ones’ wallet. Have just started Cake Pops… NEEEEEEED sprinkles! LOL
jdgvpi@aol.com
Humm, I think a field trip is in order, I haven’t found anything like that here in the Bay Area! It’s hard to decide which tool is my favorite, but if I had to pick just one, my Kitchen Aid, without it I couldn’t make my cakes or frosting!
http://www.agardenofcakes.blogspot.com
My new fave tool is the medium scoop from Pampered Chef… it’s great for measuring cupcake batter and I have my fingers crossed that it will be the perfect size for cake pops.
Holy crap!! I’m a big fan of the mini cupcakes, although they are a pain in the rear to ice!
WOW! I will have to try to get there next time I visit the in-laws! My favorite tools are my kids :-) They love to frost anything — makes a mess, but it SO fun!

holy cow! i think i could live in this store! i think my favorite tool is the wilton strips that you soak in water until they’re well saturated, then wrap them around your cake pan before sticking it in the oven; it really does keep the cake from getting that hump in the middle that ends up getting cut off (altho i kinda like munching on the cut-off hump…)
mighty_mander@yahoo.com
Wow! I think my favorite item is my Edge Brownie Pan! Would love some sprinkles!
I’d get into trouble if I lived close enough to shop there regularly, but what an excuse for a road trip! I have to say that the most useful baking tool I have is a batter pro my mom gave me as a wedding gift. It’s never been used for it’s intended purpose, but it’s absolutely perfect for hauling around cupcakes, cakes, pies, etc!!
srobinson@mail.cosi.org
I was having fun just looking at the pictures you posted. I’m sitting here thinking “i want that, and that, and i don’t know what that is for but I’m sure I can learn once I have it.” My favorite baking tool is probably a round 9 in. springform pan. So when I make cakes they’re always round. Thanks.

My favorite cake decorating tool is my heavy duty turntable. Next would be my bench scraper (helps me get super smooth sides).
Check out some of my wedding cakes. They’re a lot easier to stack than you think.

Bakerella! You are my newest internet addiction! LOL! We have ABC Cake Decorating and Supply Store here in Phoenix, AZ, and my heart skips a beat every time I enter the doors! They have EVERYTHING and more! I am a HUGE fan of luster dust and “pixie” dust, it’s edible glitter. Find myself putting it on almost every cake that goes out my door! Thank you for the chance to win! SO fun! Nicole at nsymons@phatrock.com
I love sprinkles too. But i haven’t found a store with a good variety :(
I love the little cookie baller, that I suppose is for melons or other fruit. But it’s so cute and dainty that it’s perfect for baking.
I wish there was a store like that near me! I never bake anything (besides packaged brownies and cake mixes) but I really want to get started! I don’t know much about sprinkles so I would like any kind!

That store looks AWESOME!!! My husband would kill me! LOL! My favorite tools are the Comfort Grip Cookie Cutters from Wilton. I can’t tell you how many metal cookie cutter I ruined because I pressed to hard or accidentally squeezed it. I would love to have the poker shaped sprinkles! We play once a month with some friends and those would be so cute to decorate with!!

Oh I think my favorite would have to be lollipop sticks – they make everything cuter – cookies (on a stick) cake (on a stick) candy treats (on a stick) doesn’t get much better then that! Oh, I love sprinkles too, as does my son!
I would get myself into trouble with that store! SO many fun things to work with. I love working with my batter scoop. Use it for so many different things, definitely couldn’t live without it!

Fun store. My favorite baking item would have to be my magi-strips that keep my cake level while baking. I also couldn’t live without my offset spatula.
I just sent my sister an eamil and told her that we so have to go to this store when I come for the 4th of July!!! I better start saving my money!!
I would love to be able to get some cheerleading and football sprinkles. My daughters school just got their football program! I am sure there are a million other items I would love to have. Thank for sharing

It’s a toss up between my cookie dough scoops (LOVE the uniformity of size and shape that only they can provide) and my offset spatulas (small, medium, and large, thankyouverymuch).
All those cake pans! That would be a store to get lost in for sure. :)
I am just starting – and have a pb candy mold –
love reading your blog

Ok, I only thought that I would like to take you to lunch one day – now I know that I want to go to this store with you. My favorite baking item is my tube pan without a removable bottom that I got from the Pinehurst Country Club when they cleaned out. It never fails!
Hope I win cause I love me some sprinkles.
My favorite sprinkles that I bought recently were back at Christmas time from Williams Sonoma. I got white snowflakes and little red striped candy cane sprinkles. I used them both to make your Christmas tree cake pops. I would love some new sprinkles to add to the collection!

I think I’ve died and gone to heaven! That place looks awesome!!
Any sprinkle is a good sprinkle, but I’d love to find some hot pink, aqua or lime green ones! :)
Oh my God, thanks so much for sharing all that stuff. I live in a little island in SPain and I haven’t even ever seen most of the thing in your pics! lol…
Thanks so much for sharing heaven to me! lol…
I could always use more sprinkles! Always! My favorite baking item is my bundt pan.

Great store! Right now my favorite tool is my mini brownie spatula. I don’t know why I love it so much…I just do. I finally got one after years of breaking up brownies all over the place using a regular sized spatula. :)

I’ve dabbled in sprinkles in the past but am starting to get into them more now that I have an almost-5-year-old daughter. The pink pigs are adorable, and I’d love some little sheep sprinkles!
Sprinkles!!! oh and right now candy molds for making cupcake bites…they are awesome…oh and candy melts….
I would love to live by a store like that. What a luckly lady you are. I would be in trouble if I did, my bank account couldn’t handle it. Thanks for all your neat ideas and pictures. I love all my baking supplies.
My favorite thing to bake with is marzipan!
I am hoping there is a store like this where I live! That place is like heaven on earth.
A girl can always use sprinkles! I am a cupcake lover! They are soooo cute!

I am so jealous! That store is amazing! It’s a good thing I don’t live anywhere near Georgia or I would spend way too much money there.
I am particularly fond of my offset spatula. Those palm tree sprinkles are pretty sweet too.
I have always loved sprinkles of any kind. I would actually jump up and down when I got them on ice cream or doughnuts when I was a wee one!
We just made cupcakes today and I was thinking we needed some new sprinkles! I love fun sprinkles, but tend to use just the little balls the most. They look fun on chocolate frosting.
My favorite tool these days are my mini muffin pans. Love them!
Well, since I have just recently began making your cupcake bites I have found I need all kinds of sprinkles…..

Memememeee! I want sprinkles! I can’t find the cute heart sprinkles anywhere at all and I sooooo want to make those Hello Kitty pops for my daughter’s birthday! Pick me pleaaaaassseee!!!
:D
My favorite thing to decorate with is whatever my daughter wants to decorate with. I have no say. We made Halloween cookies for Valentine’s Day. So if she’s happy then I’m happy.
Okay, I’m total amateur compared to you; but the “golly gee whiz” thing I discovered far late in life is a plain ol’ cake leveler. Who KNEW you could have layers that didn’t balance precariously?? Of course, now that I play with cake making more I also love my little triangle thingee that smooths/decorates the sides of round cakes. Talk about “no effort professional look.”
Love your site, btw!
