I like to dress up in themed costumes. This year, I’ll be a beekeeper and my puppy and 11-month-old will be bees!
One year I made Mickey and Minnie Mouse for myself and my husband to wear for Halloween. Our grandkids were little at that time and couldn’t believe who it was behind the costume!!

It’s dressing up my grown kids I enjoy most these days…I love when they check-in to see if I have any good ideas for costumes. My most fav recently were my daughter and her bf were fantastic as Disney’s Woody and BoPeep. That same daughter made your lil “ghost with jack o lantern candy pail” cake pops for her college RA Halloween party and won best treat!!
I think my favorite costume is a honey bee–my husband dresses up as a bee keeper. We like to be nerdy like that. :)

Actually, growing up, my favorite treat to find in my old pillowcase was a fresh pomegranate! We didn’t get much candy, but when people gave us these gems, well, we made a mess – a lovely, ruby, sweet mess!!! The other candy was fun (keep the peppermints – those are for old folks, I used to think!), but the giant gnarled sight of a pomegranate – priceless!!

I just love candy corn and use it to decorate cupcakes, pops and cakes whenever I can. My favorite costume was a vampire. At the time I was working In a hospital lab and this was very appropriate for the environment. I managed the blood collection technicians. Pretty funny.

I love (LOVE) Charleston Chews!! Funny story – I hate coconut . . . hate it! Knowing this, my dad told me when I was young that Charleston Chews had coconut in them. For proof he took a bite and showed me the white interior. I took him at his word for YEARS!!! Working at my first real teaching job (one that, you know, paid a salary and not a volunteer stipend) I was walking by a secretary’s desk and she offered me some Halloween Candy. I said thanks but no thanks as all she had were the Chews and I didn’t like coconut. She then told me how wrong I was and I have loved them ever since!
