Not sure if you’d call this a costume, but one of my favorite Halloween “costumes” was when my mother, sister and I built a wooden coffin, painted it black and placed it on our lawn. Each of us would take turns wrapping outselves in a sheet, getting into the coffin with a mask on, and we’d hold the bowl of candy on our chests. When someone would come up to get candy, we’d scare them by sitting up and yelling Happy Halloween! We had a lot of leftover candy that year…. LOL!
My favourite Halloween treat would be the caramel apple lollipops that I only see around Halloween!

My favorite Halloween costume that I remember from my childhood, was actually a dance recital costume. The dance was called ‘Sparkling Burgundy’. The costume was a scarlet/burgandyish color, and it had 24″ metallic silver fringe around the hips and shoulders. I froze that night, but it was worth it. I’ve worn 80’s bright floral hose, some shirt I have from when I was a teenager way back in the day (Murphy Brown, Murder She Wrote, Bryan Adams Reckless Concert shirt, New Kids On the Block–who knew they’d come back, etc), denim overall dress with only 1 side buckled-the other side loose, some padded shirt to jacket, bright pink lipstick and cheeks, purple, green & blue eye shadow, and hair teased to the heavens! Thank you Aqua Net! Then I carry around my Walkman blasting either Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet, Bryan Adams wanted to marry him SO bad) , Michael Jackson Thriller (SO appropriate!) or Madonna. I was either an 80’s Queen or a fashion victim! If I can embarrass my kids a little, then I’ve done my job! (Just kidding–a little)

These cake pops are amazing!!! The detail is just beautiful. Since my youngest daughter has a birthday two weeks before Halloween, nearly all of her parties have a Halloween theme and we are always looking for new and fun ideas :) As for the contest entry — My favorite Halloween treat is a kit kat (or anything with chocolate and almonds).
