They Got Me

The other day I was doing a little impromptu shopping. I had already spent more than I wanted and I was about to pass the Williams-Sonoma store. I said to myself. “Walk faster. Faster. Don’t look in. You don’t need anything else. Whatever you do…

…don’t stop…

Don’t look in the …”

photo

Dang. They got me.

I really tried not to go in, but how could I be complete without these Star Wars Cookie Cutters. I knew if I left empty handed, I’d wish I had bought them in the off chance someone I know wants Boba Fett cookies one day. So I went in, telling myself the whole time I would just have a peek. I can resist.

IMG_0100

I can resist so well that I only bought two. One for me and one for you. Okay, one for one of you.

IMG_0033

Now, I like to bake to go along with a giveaway if I can, but I knew I wouldn’t have enough time to make and pipe these this weekend and I just couldn’t wait to show you these cutters. Plus, my piping skills might deter you from wanting to try them. Piping royal icing is a skill I need to work on, but the way to go if you’re up for it. They’d still be super cute just like this photo from the back of the box, though.

IMG_0079

The cutters have plungers that make impressions in the sugar cookie dough as you cut shapes.

IMG_0066

You can whip up some Storm Troopers…

IMG_0072

A Dark Lord perhaps.

IMG_0075

Maybe some Boba Fett’s just so you can say the name over and over.

IMG_0073

And you have to make Yoda, of course. Make him you should. And eat him you shall.

But… but wait… where’s Chewbacca and R2-D2? What’s up with that? I want to nibble on a little Wookiee. And maybe a little Harrison Ford.

They need a second edition. Fingers crossed.

IMG_0052

The set comes packaged in a cute box with a recipe for cookies and icing.

Besides the kiddies going gaga for these, I think it would make a great gift for Daddy’s Day. Well, it might make some Daddy’s Day, not all.

Find them at Williams-Sonoma or…

  2. To be totally honest, I have never cared for Star Wars BUT I have three HUUUUUGE fans in my house. My husband, daughter and son LOOOOOVE it and have watched the movies several times. This would make their day!

I must admit my favorite thing about Star Wars is that it has brought our kids closer and it has helped us talk to our kids about good vs. evil in a way that they understand and are interested it.

May the force be with us! ;)

  3. boba fett! If I had this cookie set, I would definitely use a bundt cake to build the pit of sarlacc and then recreate the death of everyone’s favorite bounty hunter.

  4. Well, 1st of all, my mom loves Darth Vadar. One of her favorite villans ever. And something that not many people believe: I have NEVER seen any of the Star Wars movies. However, I do know the words to the Ewok song….

  17. I think my favorite Star Wars related thing is the Triumph the Comic Insult Dog bit from Conan where he makes fun of all of the Star Wars fans lined up in costume to see the first showing of one of the newer Star Wars movies. Hilarious! Also, several things at the company I work for are nicknamed after Star Wars. This is what you get when your work force is made up of librarians and IT people, i.e. huge nerds. I am one of the nerdy librarians. :)

  41. Well, I was pretty young when the original 3 Star Wars movies came out, so I’m not too familiar with those. But, young Harrison Ford was pretty good looking in those movies! As is Ewen McGreggor, who plays the same character (I think) in the newer 3 movies. Yum. :-)

  42. Me, Me, Me! We are Star Wars Fans! I am already dreaming of a Star Wars B’day Party for my soon to be 9 year old.

  55. I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a little kid! I have the tee shirts (mini size), action figures, old school stuffed animals and more to prove it. 64. I don’t know if I have a favorite Star Wars character, but Jar Jar Binks has to be my least favorite.

  65. When I was younger, growing up in the early 80’s, I shunned all the barbies, dolls, etc. My real love: star wars action figures. To this day, in my parents attic, there is a trunk full of storm troopers that I let float down the gutter, a chewy we tried to tie to one of those floating parachutes and launched it off a building…I miss the days before video games (or maybe around atari/intellevision time) when kids used to play outside morning to night…

  66. My dad actually took me to the first Star Wars movies I saw. He’s about as sci-fi nerdy as they come. I was young enough that Natalie Portman as Queen Amidala was my primary reason for liking the movie ;P

  67. OH, need these I do. I’ve stepped on my Star Wars legos than I care to admit, and my son is playing Lego Star Wars on the wii as I type this!!

  68. My son loves star wars!! He’s constantly talking like yoda, lol, and he thinks darth vader is the most awesome character in the movies!! Super cute cookie cutters btw!!!

May the force be with me!!!

  84. I just showed my boyfriend and he said, “Let’s go get them right now!” You see, he is slightly obsessed with Star Wars. We watch the Clone Wars cartoons over and over…I should say, he watches, I am just in the room. His favorite character is Darth Vader and I have actually been looking for some unique Star Wars thing to give him for his birthday, this would be perfect!

  85. Unfortunately I do not own any star wars figures or anything and I shocking discovered that neither of my housemates have seen ANY of the movies so I am planning a 6 episode (in the order they came out) marathon for them in the next few weeks. And these would be AMAZING.
Last year in my house (with other housemates) we fought over the star wars blanket in the living room!

  86. I think my favorite Star Wars memory is a fairly recent one, when my 7 year old son, and 5 year old daughter came up to me and asked me if they could watch Star Wars, I let them and they sat there and watched the first 5 of them! i was completely shocked, and since then they too have become Star Wars Lovers!!! It’s all my son talks about.

  87. My nephew loves, loves, loves yoda!

  93. “Echo three to echo seven….” I’m a big Star Wars nerd :) I once knew the original trilogy by heart. I still have my Star Wars figurines, though the space ships are at my parents’ house. My favorite character is Yoda, though my dog’s name is Ewok!

  95. My darling sweet as sugar son has a thing for Darth Vader, Darth Sideous, but, especially General Grievious. I have no idea why. My Hubs loves Boba Fett, and I’m all about the Yoda. I do NOT understand why boys like the evil so much when the good green & flippity are so freakin’ awesome!!!

  96. ahhh!! these are so fun! I love all three of the originals.. not a fan of the later “prequels”. But I loved Han Solo’s character.. he got some of the funniest lines in the movies :)

  108. im super duper bored and since the more comments i leave the better chance of winning i have im gonna leave like a million comments!!!

  117. idk anything about star wars but i love contest so i decided 2 leave my comment…but after seeing this cookie things im considering renting the movies

  119. How funny! I was JUST looking at these online. I have the page open in a tab, and just keep waiting until the moment that I give and in and HAVE to have them! :) I was wondering how the dough released from the cutter – it looks like they work pretty well, would you agree?

  120. I love Star Wars. Return of the Jedi was the first movie my boyfriend ever saw in theaters, so they hold a special place in his heart and we watch them together every now and then. I like Lando the best, I think.

  121. Those Star Wars cookie cutters are totally awesome!!! My son would love these…….huge Star Wars fan!! When he was little that’s all he wanted to see. He even tried to build his own light saber. Everytime we went to the store we “had” to buy a saber……legos……coloring books……action figures and of course, we own every Star Wars movie…….except Thumb Wars!
Thanks for a chance to win!

  122. These cookie cutters are too, too cute!!! Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie. My boyfriend and I both love the series though….we even have Darth Vader’s voice on our GPS. He says things like, “Take the next left….it is your destiny” HAHA

  125. Star Wars…we love it here. My husband had almost all of the original action figures as a child! Now my children are huge fans. Luke Skywalker is the best because he always stays good! Our oldest had a Star Wars birthday party last year and I made Jedi robes for all of the little ones who came! How many action figures do we have? Probably enough to pay off our house if we had used the money for that! EEks! I would love to have a set of the cookie cutters! Such a great idea!

By the way, those cookie cutters are cuuute

  130. I have no Star Wars figurines, no movies, no posters, no light sabres….nothing.
HOWEVER, I do have a friend who has an extensive collection, and should I be blessed to win the items, will pass them along to him. He has three girls, who I’m sure would love to spend some time baking with their Star Wars dad!

  131. My sister is the biggest Star Wars fan I know – I would love to make her some cookies with these super cute cutters!

  132. My husband LOVES Star Wars. I can take it or leave it but would love to make him some SW cookies for Father’s Day!

  133. When I was a Freshman in highschool, the re-releases of the Star Wars movies were just being released in theatres. A friend of mine wrote me a note during math class telling me about a new student named Luke Skywalker who thought I was cute and wanted her to introduce the two of us. I had no idea who Luke Skywalker was and totally fell for it! I then saw the movies, fell in love with them, and have been a Star Wars geek ever since.

These cookie cutters are so cute!

  134. I loved Star Wars growing up, I had a Wickett action figure and my older brother always wanted to play with it because he didn’t have one.

  138. Girl, I NEED THESE! My family is such star wars geeks! I am not exaggerating! To let you know I am speaking the truth, my husband and sons watch all 6 movies so much, that my daughter’s first sentence EVER was “Ta-was is Cawy” (Star wars is scary!) (and she was shivering!!) lol!! I’m serious! I live in the middle of nowhere in DeRidder, LA If I don’t win these! I may never find them. And my daughter who is now 6 is a mini-Bakerella. She loves baking as much as you and I. This would be a dream come true and a great end to a funny Star Wars story!! I have never even heard of that store!!! Oh please Bakerella pick us!!

  139. Those are AWESOME!!! I just love those movies.

  140. Wow! These are way too cute. I have a huge history with Star Wars as I’m sure we all do. I remember seeing it sitting o the car door at the drive in. I remember my cousin who had an entire world of Star Wars set up in the basement like a train set. And then my husband. He loves all things Star Wars and has his original R2D2 displayed proudly in the studio where he works. Butmy favorite thing is the face he makes when the music comes on and the Lucasfilm logo appears. He gets all excited. I make amazing sugar cookies and would love to impress everyone we know with these! Have fun.

  141. I love Star Wars!! I have to sadly admit that my favourite is The Phantom Menance, but ONLY because my family and I went as Qui-Gon, Padme, and Anakin to the Star Wars convention a little while back and I had to make all the costumes. It was so amazing!! As a movie on its own I love Return of the Jedi of course. I recently bought a book on only the SW costumes and it has given me hours of planning pleasure for the next costume. I’m hoping they’re bringing out a box set of all 6 movies someday also :)
I love baking and would looove these cookie cutters! I just hope you’re offer extends to the UK… Thanx for posting this, I might just buy them anyway ;)

  142. I have been to the place that they used for the exterior shots of Queen Amidala’s palace. Not on purpose, I found out afterwards that it was in the movie!

  143. My 7 year old son is head over heels for Star Wars. He loves all the characters. Everytime he gets money he has to buy something related to Star Wars. We were expecting bad weather so we were preparing bags to take to the cellar. Inside his bag was everything related to Star Wars: movies, legos, figurines, and toys. He didn’t care about anything else. Now that is love!

  144. I have never seen Star Wars! My husband on the other hand loves it :-)

  145. I have 3 sons who are Star Wars fanatics…enough said! :) We’ve got action figures, underwear, t-shirts, sheets, and cookie cutters would fit in and I’d be known as a cool mom!!

  146. If only they came with Ewoks!

Whipping up a batch of these would be great for when me and my boyfriend go to see Star Wars: In Concert!

  147. all 4 of my boys would be in HEAVEN, or should I say, a galaxy far, far away, if I won this.

  148. My husband and I are both Star Wars geeks. We named our dog after one of the more obscure bounty hunters and now nobody but us can pronounce his name properly! I think I could make both human AND dog cookies with these. How perfect is that?!

  149. My nephews LOVE star wars and all things related. They would totally love these, and it would put me back in the ‘favorite Aunt’ Stakes!

  150. Hi there
    I Love these
Fun fun fun till my father take the swooord away \

    catie

  151. My Mom has a picture of my brother and I when I was about 5 with our Star Wars shirts on sitting on Santa’s lap! Priceless!

  152. When I hear Star Wars, I automatically think of my husband. He has all the movies and I believe some figurines tucked away in the closet.

For Halloween, he wanted our daughter to dress up as an Ewok. Unfortunately, he was not able to find it.

  153. My husband makes fun of me because I don’t know a thing about Star Wars… he on the other hand loves the movies and knows most of the lines by heart. He would love these!

  154. these are great!

  155. My little brother is a Star Wars fanatic… these would be perfect for his next birthday!

  156. Wow is there any little girl who didn’t dream of being Princess Leah(sp?) as a child in the late 70’s early 80’s. She was definitely my fav with the ewoks as a close second :)

  157. Every year at the St. Patty’s Day parade in Detroit there is a group of legion stormtroopers that walk in the parade. It is a highlight of the parade day for me. Love it!

  158. I used to like Star Wars, but my four year old has made me watch it about 5 hundred times in the last year. I still love Yoda, but really, the cheesy humor is getting to me.

  159. Favorite character: its a tie between Chewbaca and
Yoda……and I can’t resist going into Williams Sonoma either.

  160. I didn’t watch Star Wars until I was 19 years old. And not because it came out when I was 19–it came out before I was born and it took me that long to get around to it! Another Star Wars thing–I’ve had a set of Star Wars christmas ornaments in storage for FIVE YEARS and I’ve meant to give it to one of my friends before Christmas every year. And have somehow forgotten every year until it’s after Christmas and I tell myself, “I’ll just give it to him next year.” If I win these cookie cutters, I’ll just give both to him (the cutters being for his wife to use–her boys would love the cookies too) right away–no waiting until Christmas!–and make his day.

  161. My husband saw the orginal 26 times or something taking all the neighborhood kids. He had even more fun introducing our son to Star Wars.

  162. I love the ewoks! So cute and cuddly…and hairy! :)

  163. I love the older star wars with Harrison Ford. I really like the satire, Spaceballs, too.

  164. My parents got me hooked by showing me A New Hope when I was little. Still my favorite movie!

This would be a great present for my boyfriend who loves to bake (and is better than I am at it…) They need these stores in Canada!

  165. omg! I love star wars!! we were gonna have a star wars night, tried to think of loads of star wars themed food could only come up with ‘wookie cookies’ they definitely need to do a second editions so that fantasy can be a reality!

  167. My fiance is a HUGE Star Wars fan and he would be more inclined to try my baked goods (I am not the most reliable baker) if they were shaped like Boba Fett!

  168. Our family LOVES Star wars! In fact, we plan to dress as a family of Star wars for Halloween this year when our twins can walk around… Starring me as Princess Leia, my husband as Darth Vader, our 7 year old as Hans Solo, and our twins (1 boy and 1 girl) as Yoda and an ewok! What better way to make an amazing Halloween than cookies to go along with it?!

  169. Oh my gosh!!! My husband AND my son would completely freak out. Our groom’s cake at our wedding 8 years ago had Darth Vader on it and said, “May the force be with Kristen and Dalton.” =) Enough said.

  170. I would love to have those! My favorite character is Chewbacca.

  171. Return of the Jedi has stuck with me since I saw it at the drive in with my parents and newborn brother as a 3 year old. My husband is a wicked Star Wars fan. I would love to surprise my husband with some Darth Vader cookies.

  175. I am a Han Solo super fan!!! I love The Empire Strikes Back! I need these for my kitchen!!

  176. Winner, I will be!

  177. These would have my boyfriend’s nephews unglued!!! Awesome. I think they have enough Star Wars figurines to entertain every child under 10 in the Midwest.

  178. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi! I cannot believe I didn’t know about these! My kids would go berserk.

  179. love it! my son is freaking out right now! he has star wars everything figures, movies, legos! you name he has it! and his dad is the same way only worse! they went to the premiere of the star wars concert in the US in anaheim this year and i know everything about it too only becase they wont let me not know! ha!

  180. My (at the time) 18 month old would beg and beg for me to “let Him” play star wars on the wii which resulted in my playing and his watching while making light saber sounds

  181. I’m not a huge Star Wars but my husband is a freak about it!! He is constantly watching it or playing the video game after the babe goes to sleep. He would love these cookie cutters as long as I would make them for him or the magically made cookies by themselves… you know, using the force!

  182. Salacious B. Crumb (in Return Of The Jedi). He is awesome. The end. My husband has a stuffed animal of him…. how many people really knows who this is? these cookie cutters would be so awesome- my husband would freak!!! My husband loves Star Wars! Not one of those who dresses up in costumes or anything- but he LOVES everything to do with it. C’mon cookie cutters!

  183. I think at least one Star Wars movie gets watched monthly in my house. Both my husband and son love SW and there is actually a Star Wars store about 20 minutes from our house with everything you have ever wanted, new and old!

  184. I just love Yoda! :D
And I’m not even the Star Wars fan in our family, my big sister and my dad are >w_> But oh well >ww< ?

  185. Oh my boys ( I have 3) would LOVE these cookie cutters!!!! All 3 of them love anything Star Wars!! I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win!!

  186. My favorite thing about Star Wars is the MUSIC!!!!

  187. My dear sweet husband deserves Star Wars cookies!
We are high school sweethearts that were apart for years. He is a Star Wars geek and the love of my life!
The force is strong with us. May the force (of love) be with you!!!

  188. We are Star Wars Fans…BIG time! I remember going to see Empire Strikes Back with my Dad in the theater…Han Solo will you marry me?! Thanks for the fun giveaway!

  189. My guy has a shelf of star wars novels and we regularly have debates about how to rank the movies. (We agree that the originals are the best, of course)

  190. Those cutters are the cutiest! Jabba the Hut is me fave Star Wars character.

  191. I have a star wars secret. My whole family are nuts about starwars. They are constantly getting over excited at the prospect of having an excuse to watch one of the (or all of the) films ( holidays, birthdays, actually just any day when they dont see a flying pig( but they like to feel like there is a reason)) but i have never really been that interested. I think one time my father did actually consider disowning me becausr of my lack of Love for star wars, but i have cone to feel that if i was able to EAT starwars then my love for it may increase greatly. :D. YAAAAY STAR WARS

  192. These would go so well with my giant storm trooper pez dispenser!

  194. All I have to say is that Harrison Ford is hot. :)

  198. Hans Solo was such a hottie! I love love love Star Wars. Win, I shall! (HOPEFULLY!!)

  199. My husband is a total Star Wars geek. He has all of his Star Wars figures from when he was a kid, but he won’t let our son play with them Wonder why. :-)

  200. When I was little I used to play Star Wars. My cousin and neighbor were Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, and my older sister was Princess Leia… which left me to be Chewbaca :-/ I always begged to be Leia, but I was outranked. I can still do a mean Chewy impersonation though!
