Sublime

Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.

And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.

Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.

You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.

But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.

Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.

Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.

IMG_7649

See.

No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.

Finally, I found you.

IMG_7341

Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.

But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.

IMG_7345

I ordered a dozen for myself.

IMG_7366

Each one different.

IMG_7390

Like this Smores doughnut.

IMG_7410

This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.

IMG_7397

And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.

Untitled-1

I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.

Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.

Untitled-2

As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.

IMG_7429

Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.

IMG_7462

And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.

IMG_7479

And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.

IMG_7369

Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.

Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.

If you’re not convinced, take a look at….

IMG_7561

this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.

I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.

IMG_7583

Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.

Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.

IMG_7596

Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.

Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.

All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Your favorite doughnut flavor? Something you’re grateful for? What you’ll be doing this Easter? Some usual or unsusual talent you have? How many pair of shoes you own? Phobias? Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.

Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.

One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.

Good luck.

Wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. Reading your comments makes me laugh and sometimes makes me cry. But they always brighten my day. Thank you.

Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.

Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!

P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.

  2. Glad you’re feeling better!

What am I doing for Easter this year? We’ll be having an Easter egg hunt for our son and some of his friends, and announcing my pregnancy to our parents. We’re very excited!

  3. If only Atlanta were closer!!! Think the boss would let me take a 5 hour break if I brought her donuts!!

  4. Oooh! A donut necklace?? amazing!
Being from Canada, i would have to say that my favourite donut flavor is maple glaze. yumm!

  5. Bakerella, I have been to Sublime and the donuts truly are heavenly! … For easter I will be headed to Savannah and bringing my future in-laws my family lamb cake (no it’s not made with lamb – it’s just a delicious pound cake in the shape of one!).

  6. MMMM… doughnuts!!

  7. Oooohh, goodness. I want those donuts right now! And I’m going to spend Easter with my best friend!

  8. I knew I should have been a cop! My weakness is doughnuts. Big time! I wish I had read this before Friday! My new husband and I were in Atlanta dropping his mother off at the airport. I could have tracked down those delicious doughnuts!

I hope you are feeling better. I really do. Take care of yourself. We all NEED you! *giggles*

  9. That is most darling thing I have ever seen! I am usually a simple basic donut girl, but those donuts make me want to splurge :)
Thanks for sharing, if I am ever in Georgia I will have to track them down.

  10. now you made me want a doughnut.

  11. I make pottery and love to fill my functional pieces full of yummy foods.

  12. Any flavor of doughnut is my favorite.

  13. HOLY CUTENESS!
I love chocolate covered white angel-cream filled doughnuts from Erie’s own “Might-Fine Doughnut Shop” the BEST ones I have ever had…and I’ve had some, believe me.
I am thankful to have been blessed with a wonderful family and great friends.
And one more crazy little thing……..I have a huge collection on SHOPPING BAGS. I love them. All shapes and sizes colors and textures. I could go on and on.
I hope you are feeling better. I missed your posts.

  14. Holy Smokes- I LOVE this! I LOVE donuts, in fact- when asked what my favorite food is, I say donuts. Speaks volumes about my diet eh? My absolute favorite are plain glazed donuts from none other than KrispyKreme…nothing compares to them fresh and hot.
Glad you are back at home resting and getting well…we missed you!

  15. I spend too much time looking at great websites instead of cleaning my house.

  16. LOVE the necklace!!
Although I rarely have donuts, I love the kind with whip cream in the middle! YUMMO!

  17. I am sorry that you were sick and am glad you are feeling better! Very very cute necklaces! :)

  18. Over the past year I’ve taken the cakeball idea and run with it…I’ve made 5 different flavors…countless designs and even made about 300 at once that I gave out as favors at my daughter’s christening! I can’t wait to get your book!

  19. Is it sad that I’m sitting here drinking my coffee and I want to lick the screen? Those look so yoummy!

    LOVE that necklace!

  20. I think I should get the pendant because I am spending Easter 1. alone (hubby is working, kids live out of town)
    2. without a kitchen (currently being remodeled)

    I have to have something, don’t I/

  21. My favorite guilty pleasure would be late night baking.

  22. Love love love donuts. But, I’ve recently lost 8 lbs. and unfortunately you can’t do that eating donuts. :( Although I did try some Krispy Kreme donut holes the other day…yum!

  23. I LOVE making & eating granola. I grew up on granola. Every few months my mom would spend all day making batches in a massive, old-fashioned laundry bowl. The house would smell like granola. Now I make it. And eat it. And love it.

  24. Something about me: I love you/hate you. Live you for the great ideas, hate you for making me think I could do them myself!!!

  25. Good to see your back! I hope you’re feeling much better!! :)

    Lurve your necklace

    x

  26. I’m so craving a doughnut now! A nice glazed doughnut is nice, but I like the filled ones too. My mouth is watering as I type this….shame on you…hee hee!
Glad you’re feeling better; a nice little virus is spreading through our house right now too!

  27. All those doughtnuts look amazing! I want to eat all of them!

  28. Ohhh!!! How cute! I love donuts and the best around me is at Shipleys! IT’s a chain but still yummy!!! My favorite is glazed with chocolate!

  29. Hmmm…something about me. I honestly have no ground-breaking or tear-jerking story to tell; I’m just a high schooler in a small town getting ready to go off to college. But here’s a fun fact: I’ve never won anything in my life! Science fairs, scratch off tickets, scholarships…you name it. Not that I have bad luck, or that I’m complaining…I am actually very lucky, and fortunate. I believe that for everytime I don’t win something, there is someone more deserving or someone who needs it more than me. So if i win the necklace, great. If I don’t, I’m happy for the person who does!

  30. You made me so hungry just now, looking at those doughnut pictures! And that necklace. . .way too cute!

    Something about myself:
It’s really hard for me to go one day without baking something!

  31. I love plain doughnuts with a decadent chocolate frosting. Here in Utah that means Banbury Doughnuts. If those aren’t available, croissant sticks from My Sugar’s are a great substitute.

  32. Oh my my!! Those doughnuts look simply delicious!!! I’m a huge Dunkin Donuts fan b/c it was a memorable thing we always had for breakfast when visiting my grandmother in Florida. I live in the Birmingham, AL area and the nearest DD was 2 hours away in Atlanta or Huntsville…until recently!! A new DD opened up about an hour away…still far, but closer! My fave doughnut is the cinnamon and the apple cinnamon. But I think the doughnuts in the post would give me a new fave!!!!

  33. How about about a doughnut joke. What’s Bob Marleys favourite doughnut? One wi’ jammin. I know that is bad.

  34. We are in the middle of building our own 10×10 greenhouse. Hoping to be able to move our 150+ tomatoe plants out of our kitchen and into the grn house on Easter! Then I will have room to plant some flower seeds and more veggies!

  35. such a cute necklace! I love your site – such fun things to bake! I made sugar cookie pops this weekend for the first time – it was fitting that it was for my daughter’s first birthday party!!

  36. I am really in the mood for some donut holes after reading this!

  37. Growing up, there was a doughnut shop near my grandma’s house. We would grab the donuts right before closing to get a good deal on them, and my favorite was the “mountain top.” A chocolate cake doughnut with the hole still plugged up (but still indented, curious) and topped with vanilla cream. Golly. I feel like every doughnut I eat is in comparison to that one.

  38. pretty sure i just gained 10 pounds looking at the doughnuts!!! how long would the drive from ny to ga be??? might be worth the trip!

  39. WOW!!! those doughnuts look so delicious…send me an A-Town doughnut and the necklace is adorable. :)

  40. I am glad you are feeling better!!!

Those donuts look amazing! Definitely my kind of shop. When we get donuts I always pick out the same two, a maple old-fashioned and a sprinkle donut. I am always kind of sad if they don’t have my sprinkle donut, but have recently found a local donut shop in our new town that is amazing! Their flavors are all traditional, but they are so good and have been there so long, the mayor actually proclaimed March 15 “Red’s Donut Day!”

Hope you continue to feel better!!

  41. Oh my goodness those donuts looks delish!! I have fond memories of going to the local bakery every weekend with my mother when I was growing up to get donuts for our family. Now I’ve moved away and still think about that bakery and the delicious donuts we ate each weekend.

  42. After a tough day at school my 5 yr old LOVES to go get a doughnut on the way home. It ‘s simple but it gives us a few Mommy/Daughter moments she remember later in life.

  43. Maybe I’m boring but my favorite doughnut is just the plan and simple glazed doughnuts. I’ve tried many different flavored ones and I do like them, but glazed is my fav! I look forward to reading your blog, glad you are feeling better and so sorry you’ve been ill.

  44. Number of shoes I own…I can’t count that high ; ) but I will tell you I am attempting to bake a lemon chiffon cake with whipped cream frosting for Easter (say a little prayer for me please!).

  45. Sorry to hear you were feeling crappy but happy to hear you’re better. My favorite donut is boston creme, it’s a new-ish thing. I used to be a cinnamon bun girl but boy was I wrong. It’s boston creme alllll the way now!

  46. Beautiful necklace.

That oreo donut looked right up my alley. Yummy.

  47. I’m getting married in 17 days, and still eating doughnuts.

Thank god for custom-made dresses. *gulp*

  48. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and my personal relationship that I have with Him! Thank you God for sending your Son to die for my sins! Happy Easter!

  49. Nothing is better than a hot glazed donut…simple is delicious! I love your website..great ideas. Thanks a million. This Easter will be a special one. My God-daughter is here visiting and we are having an Easter party in her honor(about 200 or so people). She is 4yrs old and was given clearance from her doctors to visit home (our little island of Guam). She has a rare immunodeficiency that requires constant care and needs to stay away from people with simple colds. We plan on making it something special. I will be making your cupcake pops…sure to be a hit with kids and adults. ; ) Hope to Win.!!! Love the necklace.

  52. Doughnuts ARE my absolute guilty pleasure. I love the chocolate/chocolate ones. But I also love the glazed ones with either chocolate frosting or maple frosting. How can something so delicious and beautiful be so bad for you? I won’t believe it!

  53. Donuts are my weakness! And I bought several charms at Swarovski this Christmas. They had adorable little fruits and objects with faces, so I bought a radish, a hand mirror, and an apple for my sister’s charm bracelet. Now I want a donut!

  54. OH I’m so glad to read taht you are feeling better I was beginning to get worried. My favorite donut is glazed chocolat but i eat it up side down. I eat the bottom (dough) and then I keep the glaze for last.

    HUmmmmmmm!

  55. Glad you’re feeling better!! And thanks for the A-town shout out…after all those donut pictures I will have to go find Sublime and find out for myself how delicious they are!! Glad to live in Georgia right now!

  56. This Easter I will be spending time with my sweetie who has been cycling in North carolina and comes home Saturday. I’ll be concentrating on Holy Week and the great festival of Easter.

I am thankful that you are out of hospital and feeling better. Be well, blessed Bakerella. Your light shines brightly for so many of us who love you and are inspired by you.

  57. Luckily I will be heading to Atlanta this weekend! I have already texted my best friend that we will be going to Sublime. I will not be eating until then so that I can try ALL of the flavors. But then a couple dozen to go back to Charlotte with me wouldn’t be a bad idea either! My mouth is watering!

  58. Delicious doughnuts! I just love looking at them! Well at least now you are well in time for Easter~ I’ll be spending it with my family and I’m bringing deviled eggs as usual! And a dessert, haven’t decided what yet. Just want my kids to enjoy the day with family and good food! (mom & dad make a feast~)

the necklace reminds me of those doughnut keyring… lol
    happy week =)

  60. Those look amazing! Donuts ALWAYS sound good!

  61. I have just “happened” upon your site… I am a wannabe baker, but having 5 kids, I don’t get as much done as I would like, and things don’t always get “finished” before they are FINISHED! However, my youngest and I have a DAILY, yes daily, doughnut habit… I am looking forward to our next “A” town visit to try some doughnuts! Thank you for a wonderful site that I am sure is going to consume a ton of my time!

  62. This Easter I will be working in the morning and spending the afternoon/evening watching my adorable 3 year old niece look for Easter eggs :-] ( I will probably make the chick’s cake pops too! Too cute to resist!)

  68. I don’t wear necklaces and I wouldn’t wear this one, even though it is very cute… Perhaps if I had a doughnut T-shirt :-)

  69. Yesterday, while my toddler was watching TV in the afternoon, I devoured a cupcake in the kitchen – I had to eat quickly so he would not see and want a cupcake too.Trust me, it was not a pretty sight.

  70. they all look delicious ! still can’t beat the old fashioned glazed and the choc covered cream filled ! yum ! necklace is darling !

  74. Glad to hear you’re feeling better!

Here’s my (not so secret) secret: I’m in law school but every time I bake things for my friends they say I should open a bakery…Uh- what a great use of my degree! The things I bake for them usually come from your recipes and other places so I think I’ll stick to the law and just enjoy my little hobby!

    The necklaces are SO CUTE.

  75. This Easter I am making my first dinner. It will be a ham with green beans on the side. I would love to have the peanut butter cup donuts to go along with it, yumm!

  76. Doughnuts? Sheesh I was raised on them and still love them! But I’m picky…my father was a baker (like, real baker, making pies, cakes, bread, brownies, cream puffs, cream horns, cookies and DOUGHNUTS)…so there is a standard to judge them by!!!

  77. I’m so glad you are okay! It’s silly but I was worried! This Easter I will be working on assignments for college and, hopefully, enjoying some sunshine. I hope you have a lovely Easter.

  78. I think I counted the other day, and I think I have 36 pairs of shoes now… It’s a little bit frightening looking into my closet.

  79. Glad you are feeling better. LOVE your site and have shared with my neice. This Easter I will be thankful for all that we have – health, family, friends. . . Happy Easter

  83. doughnuts are the perfect medicine!

  84. I LOVE a really fresh doughnut, but not from a chain or a grocery store. A real doughnut, made daily, like at 4am by someone who is a master doughnut person. I do not like greasy doughnuts, but can’t imagine anyone would. Love the necklace charm – so dang cute!

  105. Doughnuts aren’t as big here in Germany – we have “Berliner” instead: http://www.kamps.de/uploads/pics/Berliner-b.jpg
They are a bit like doughnuts except that they never have the hole in the middle. They’re usually filled with jam, plum butter or apple sauce but you can also get a nutella filling, bailey’s, vanilla or egg liquor. It’s a tradition to eat them at New Year’s Eve, with a random one being filled with mustard instead :)

  114. I really love your easter cake pops! This easter I’m going to a dinner at my boyfriends house, first time meeting his parents, and I’m thinking about making some spring chickens or easter bunnies to bring as a present for his mum who was kind enough to invite me. I think they could be a greate substitute for flowers and would probably fit perfectly in a small easter basket with a couple of chocolate bunnies and other sweet easter treats. Thanks for the inspiration!

  116. Oh, my soul! Daddy daddy I want a Peanut Butter Cup doughnut NOW! These look so unbelievably delicious that I’ve forgotten everything I needed to do today.

Actually, that’s not possible because I’m a slightly obsessive list-freak person, with all the things I need to do/buy/make permanently written down. Perhaps that A symbolises my type A personality?

  125. I love your site and this donut post is great! I love desserts, but I’m diabetic so I can’t really try all those lovely sublime donut flavours you were describing…..dulce de leche (ahhh condensed milk!), smores….i can only feast with my eyes (SOB!) and your pics make it worth it! Love your cake pops too. Gonna try those for my neph and neice (might sneak a bite =P)

  126. I’m glad you’re back! I hope you’re okay.
A little thing about me is that I am deadly jealous of american donut shops. We don’t have anything like that in England. I’ll have to try to make my own soon. :3

  127. Hi Bakerella, this is the first time I am writing to you. I was wondering if you were ok for the past 2 weeks. I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better. Those doughnuts and doughnut necklace are amazing. take care..

  137. This year I am spending Easter in Romania at my mother in law’s with my husband. Our first Easter as a married couple:) So exciting!

  138. Ive been searching for a at home donut “cooker/baker” and cant decide on a good one. I have 3 kiddos and I try and give them healthy versions of our favorites, and Ive been craving donuts. Have you done donuts? Im hoping you have! Im off now to go search! hehe :)

  139. I’m glad you’re feeling better!

Hmmm what to write, well I guess I’ll tell you something interesting about me that relates to this post!

I have a doughnut shaped scar on my arm from a 2nd degree burn i received when I was 17. I fainted in the bathroom while getting ready for school and my arm just so happened to land on my curling iron…ouchie

8 years later and I’m finally proud to show off my doughnut looking scar (it’s a circle with a darker circle in the middle).

  140. Super cute necklace!! I absolutely love, crave, devour Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing doughnuts!! My fav!!!

  141. Glad you’re feeling well again and personally I adore apple fritters — but without the glace. When I was an employee at Tim Horton’s I used to set aside a dozen for myself and then shot them up with chocolate filling. :9

  142. I’ll be watching my 5 year old perform in a hula show on Easter Sunday.. maybe I might munch on a simple glazed donut while I’m watching her!

  143. Some women collect diamonds. I collect baking and decorating equipment. BTW, thanks for that lovely post about that baking equipment store. That place would be my idea of Disneyland.
Oh, I love how you actually showed us the inside of each doughnut flavour!
    So good…

  144. that necklace is darling!

My fave donuts are pumpkin spice cake donuts!

    Sure hope I win!

  145. I am thankful for my family. That’s it in one simple sentence :) My family has made me who I am today and for that I will be forever grateful. PS. My cousin Kevin passed away on October 31st (he was 18) and he was an organ donor. I do not know where his organs are or who they have helped, but I am glad for your gift of life and also Savannah’s! Because of his passing I registered as an organ donor and now have a beautiful green sticker declaring “donor” on the back of my drivers license :)

  146. I absolutely adore your blog :) and.. something random about me? I have an addiction to colorful post-it notes!

  147. We, Hungarians are not a doughnut nation. To prove this I tell you that Dunkin Donuts mached out from the country years ago because they didn’t do too much income.

When I was in the USA a couple of years ago I did try some of the doughnuts. My favourite one is a jam filled with almonds on the top! :)

    Zita
    from Budapest, Hungary

  148. My favorite donut flavor? MAPLE with cream! ;-)

  149. My fav donut has got to be Bear Claws! YUM!!

  150. Ohh I would pick butter toffee with caramel chocolate frosting. That is if I had too pick. My second choice would be red velvet. That donut necklace is so sweet. I would give it to my baby girl.

  151. I will be all alone with my 2 sons again this year for Easter. Hubby has had to work every single year for Easter and his Birthday. Thank goodness for my boys and donuts!!!!

  153. Donuts… Mm mmm!

  154. I don’t eat donuts often, but like all of my sweets, I like my donuts with chocolate. A plain glazed donut that has a chocolate glaze on top (with sprinkles if I’m feeling fearless) Yummy!

  155. Usually my favorite donut is a Boston cream, but that A-town mocha looks dreamy (as do all those other unique flavors!) I’d love to win that cute, cute necklace!

  156. i love your blog, and visit almost daily. i wish i had more time for baking! college will be over soon, hopefully i’ll have more time for baking then!

  160. So fun! This Easter I am making Basil Ice Cream! YU<!!

  161. I LOVE doughnuts!! I actually do day trips to Portland for doughnuts from a place called Voodoo Doughnuts!! Check them out!! I am thankful for the fact that they are opening one up in Eugene, right down the street from me!! Woohoo! I want to try that star doughnut sooooo bad!!!

  162. My favorite color is purple! Those donuts look amazing!

  163. Those doughnuts look delicious… My favorite doughnut is always the most recent one I’ve had, hehe. So I’d have to say the pumpkin spice doughnuts from Buckeye Doughnuts.

  164. OH I LOVE doughnuts!!!! My favoret is the old fashion glazed and the chocolate bar! yummy …. My daughter and I walk once a month to the doughnut shop down the street and I let her pick what ever she wants usually its anything with spiracles on it!

  167. You’ve inspired me to start baking again… And I’m enjoying myself though I don’t really have the time to bake as much as I want. Hopefully though, when summer rolls around, I’ll have more time to experiment and try new recipes!

  168. I absolutely love chocolate crullers yumm :)

  169. Me and my 5 year old daughter had doughnuts for dinner!!!! (tough day!) Although, I have to admit that your doughnuts looked much better.

  170. Those donuts look so yummy! Anyway – I love to knit and teaching people to knit is a lot of fun.

  171. OMG I could move into that shop! And the necklace is to die for!! =)

  172. sorry to hear you have been sick!
my favorite doughnut has whipped cream in the middle and chocolate on top, someday i hope to make home made doughnuts, but not today. ohh donut cake pops would be cute although not quite sure how you would do it , but i am sure you could figure out something.

  173. Hi! Can I just say that I am in LOVE with that doughnut necklace! And do you know why I think this necklace is meant for me? Because I am eating a doughnut at the very same time I’m writing this! Well, not the exact same time, I put the doughnut down so I could type… Doughnuts are my #2 favorite pastry of all time (cupakes being #1)! And making them is on my life list of things to do:)

  174. I’m grateful for my 2 little red-headed bunnies!

    “Mmmmmmm.. Doughnuuuuuuts…. ”
    (My best Homer impression!)

  175. I love, love, love LaFeen’s Donut’s Buttermilk bar- it has the density of a cake donut, but the buttermilk gives it this amazing moist and delectable texture. Heaven in a bite.
As for shoes…I have a growing collection of a least a pair a month. Since getting married a year and a half ago, several sad pairs have been discarded cuz the hus just don’t get it. Now I’m down to about 50.

  176. So glad you are home & recovering. My fav flavor of donut would have to be barvarian creme…but really any good donut is a donut worth eating. ;-) I must try this donut place next time I’m in the Atlanta area.

  177. WOW! why have i never heard of this site before, out of all the times i’ve made cake….this could have been a huge help. This is totally my insiration as a 16yr old trying to make cakes. =)

  178. Love the necklace. Love white iced donuts and love your blog!

  179. Mmmm… I work in Pediatric Cardiology which is very depressing at times but very rewarding for the one’s that we can help and fix their “broken little hearts”. I love photography but am slowly learning how to use my camera. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  180. reading your blog has inspired me to take on baking as my profession!! :)

  181. Oh doughnuts how I love thee. My favorite is the classic white cake with white glaze and rainbow sprinkles–they make my twelve-year-old heart sing. But maybe I should upgrade to mocha…or crystal.

  182. wowizers! they look delish!
my favorite doughnut would be just glazed XD i like how its just simple

  183. Powdered…with lemon filling…mmm…donuts…

  184. In honor of the theme of this post, I’ll comment on my favorite donut…. hands down a cinnamon sugar cake donut!!! Blueberry cake and chocolate cake are a tie for 2nd, but I just can’t ever turn down a yummy cake donut coated in cinnamon sugar :)

  185. This Easter I’m going to be making vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting and chocolate chip cookies for my in-laws. :]

  186. My boyfriend loves maple sugar donuts, but I prefer cinnamon sugar ones :)

    Glad you’re feeling better! :-)

  188. This is so random, but I’m excited for Easter because my three-year-old and three-week-old will be wearing matching dresses. Can’t wait to take tons of pictures of those sweet girls!

  189. My favorite donut is an old fashioned one.

  190. OOooo the necklace is soooo cuuute!!! My favorite donut of ALL TIMES are the old fashion ones! I love how it’s dense and I love the maple ones! Makes me want to just go out and get one!

  191. Now those pics are donuts as art! My favorite new shop in the town where I live (Anchorage, AK) is Alaska Cake Studio — they have cake as art and craft and taste and beauty…
    mmmmm

  192. Umm, about me, let’s see…

Well, for Easter, I’m not doing much, I’m afraid. I’m in college, and our school doesn’t give us time off for it. But the weekend after I’ll be headed home to get candy and color eggs with my mom. (Yes, color eggs. I don’t care if I’m 23, it’s fun.)

Oh, here we go, weird Easter-related tidbit. Because of the associations with coloring eggs, I find the smell of vinegar to be fairly nice. Odd, I know.

  193. Hmm…I made chocolate frosted brownies for lunch today just because! :)

  194. I love sour cream doughnuts, plain and glazed. Don’t know why, just that they are spectacular! As is that necklace!

  195. Went to the gym for the first time in a looooong time! I gotta earn me some of those great looking donuts! :)

  196. Oh my gosh! What a great giveaway! My favorite donut flavor is Boston Creme….(well I don’t just have one fav – I also love glazed old fashion & apple fritter – oh and maple glazed ) =)

  197. This Easter I will be announcing my pregnancy to our family!!!!!

  198. This Easter I’ll be helping my parents get through their mid life crisis. They just bought a house that needs a large face lift, and happens to be 9 hours away from the city I grew up in. And my birthday. That’s on Easter, too.

  199. So glad you are feeling better.

Yum Donuts (in a homer-esque type voice) I would have a hard time choosing but the “A” donut you described sounds like a winner.

  200. This Easter we (me and my 2 daughters) are hitting up the local easter egg hunts, and carrying an extra basket for daddy to get eggs. Daddy is deployed to Afghanistan, and my 4 year old adds daddy to everything single thing we do. Its sweet, but brings a tear every time.
