Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.
And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.
Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.
You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.
But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.
Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.
Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.
See.
No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.
Finally, I found you.
Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.
But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.
I ordered a dozen for myself.
Each one different.
Like this Smores doughnut.
This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.
And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.
I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.
Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.
As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.
Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.
And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.
And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.
Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.
Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.
If you’re not convinced, take a look at….
this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.
I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.
Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.
Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.
Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.
Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.
All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Your favorite doughnut flavor? Something you’re grateful for? What you’ll be doing this Easter? Some usual or unsusual talent you have? How many pair of shoes you own? Phobias? Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.
Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.
Good luck.
Wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. Reading your comments makes me laugh and sometimes makes me cry. But they always brighten my day. Thank you.
Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.
Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!
P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.
I am grateful for family, friends, and the miraculous blessing of the little life growing inside of me :)
I love love LOVE normal glazed donuts-no need for fancy fillings or toppings.
My phobia is vomiting. soo gross.
you’re back!! i was wondering what happened. hope you’re feeling better.
something about me? Well I recently made my 2nd batch of oreo balls and i ate 6 of them while reading your last entry.
might i add, they’re really not helping me with my diet. seriously.. i think i’m starting to feel side fat.
sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well…donuts should help with that…
chocolate aanything is my favorite!
glad you’re feeling better… i was getting worried with no new posts lately!
I live about 3 blocks from a little donut shop called Donut Factory. Around the neighborhood it’s referred to as donutsmuffinscookies because those words are printed repeatedly around the building. Sometimes in the early morning when the wind blows in just the right direction I have this recurring dream that I wander in to a hipper version of Donut Factory for my favorite, the French Crueller.
Gotta go with doughnuts! I love any doughnut with sprinkles, and always loved cruellers growing up. Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Hi! Have you tried Donut Plant in NYC? Seems like fresh donut shops with inventive flavors are all the rage now. I wish one would come to Indianapolis! Thanks for sharing.
I must find Sublime Donuts ASAP!
Best donut chocolate glaze from Westhampton Bakery in Richmond VA!!! But I would love to try all of these from Atlanta!!
Maybe this necklace will make me better at making doughnuts!
Your work is amazing, and now i must buy a Swarovski Donut necklace – wow! I follow your blog and have many other friends who follow your blog now! We are all thinking and praying for your health. Take Care!
My girlfriend would love that little doughnut necklace. My favorite doughnut is….well there are too many to choose I love them all!! It hurts to hear about this amazing doughnut shop when I just drove through Georgia on my way back from Florida for spring break!!
There’s a gas station in Muskegon, MI, Wesco, that makes the most amazing doughnuts. YUM!
I love all kinds of donuts, although I don’t think my waistline likes them as much. And I have to say that I love reading your blog.
donuts are my kryptonite!
Those donuts look divine!
About me: I have 2 cats, favor an apple fritter in the donut line, and Easter I plan to do some church action followed by dinner with family!
They look amazing….
my favourite one looks like the red velvet one.
that is my guilty pleasure for sure.
I hope you’re feeling better!! The little factoid about me is that my favorite color is pink. So I really like the pink doughnut necklace!
My dad would always get “Hot & Ready” doughnuts from KrispyKreme every Saturday morning growing up. He always picked up a special Key Lime Pie one for me :)
Oh man….those doughnuts look delicious.
Here’s a fact about me: I’m Jewish. And Passover started last night
Which means no bread or grain products for a week.
Which means this post just about killed me with cravings.
Glad to hear your doing better, I love your website, and all the amazing things you post. Thanks, I really love the doughnut necklace , you are too kind, hope I win.
I just got out of the hospital, too! Mine was from anemia and I had to have a blood transfusion. I am great now! God-speed on your recovery! You are so inspiring, thanks so much for all you do!
So glad you are feeling better! These donuts look amazing! I made donuts a few years ago with my step-daughter. Seeing these makes me want to do it again. Mmmmm….donuts!
A little something about myself…I love tiny versions of larger things….like that adorable tiny doughnut necklace. I also collect tiny dogs from quarter machines. How can anyone resist tinier versions of things!! :-D
Yummy! I lived in Atlanta for 7 years and never heard of them. What a perfect excuse for a roadtrip!
I love plain doughnuts and anything with LEMON! Yum! This necklace is really too cute! Nice find!
I will be getting to spend Easter with my boyfriend, right now our relationship in long distance so I don’t get to see him very often. Which is also what I am grateful for the time that we do get to spend together.
-Anita
My favorite donut is a chocolate cake with chocolate glaze from Dunford Donuts!!!
I love doughnuts and they love me….unfortunately, they go directly to places that they should not go to. I have been an eye donor since I was 14 and from the time I received my licence at 17 I have been a donor of all of my organs. If I can one day give the gift of life back to someone who needs it my life will have come full circle. Thank you for sharing your story.
Donuts are a wonderful thing! You can’t go wrong with ones fresh from the bakery! (not from some box in the store!)
I love lemon-filled donuts. I think my father and I are the only people on the earth that like them.
Seriously!!!! I L.O.V.E. doughnuts! They are my ultimate weekness – always has been. I can turn down ANYTHING, but not a dough nut.
Favorite doughnut = cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles. What can I say, I’m traditional!
And that necklace is so cute! It would be perfect for my sister-in-law! She likes her sweets!
All those donuts look yummy. Sorry to hear you were sick and in the hospital but I am glad you are home and feeling better.
Love the necklace!!! Marge Simpson will love it too!!!
About me I have to tell you that i’m an old mom, I have a 2 year old boy and I’ll 45 in May!!!
I don’t like to run, but I wish I did. Then I would shamelessly eat about two dozen of those AMAZING looking donuts.
My favourite donut this week is Vanilla Dip, last week it was Strawberry filled!!! I find it changes from week to week…lol
Thanks for a great site, I always look forward to checking out what you have posted!!
My daughters, who are 6 and 3, decorated their eggs this weekend. The eggs lasted about 1 minute in their fully decorated state before they were promptly cracked open and consumed. No delayed gratification in our house!
Boston Creme are my favorite, followed closely by cake with chocolate icing. Actually love ALL donuts
easter not celebrated that big over here in this part of the world but we do have restaurants hotels decorated up with easter bunnies and eggs! :) just love seeing the cute bunnies and eggs.
I love peanut butter doughnut, especially when it oozes out into your mouth..hhmmmm bliss!
hope you’re well now!
I share your pain… glad you’re feeling better now. My favorite donut happens to be a plain ole crueller from Tim Horton’s.
I’m thankful for all the experiences i have both ups and downs. :)
hope your easter went well!
*sits whispering to self* … I must not drool on keyboard, I must not drool on keyboard, I must not drool on keyboard.
They all look sooo delish and the donut necklace is just too cute!
Fav donuts are fresh, hot and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar
My ‘guilty’ pleasure is hiding away from my daughter, with a jar of nutella and a long handled spoon! lol
I remember I tried a red velvet donut a year ago out of pure chance,
and IT. WAS. HEAVEN.
Ever since, I’ve been looking for those little round pastries of deliciousness, but no success so far. ):
But I still have to say that red velvet donuts are, and will always be, my favorite!
I just love your blog!! And don’t worry about not having anything *cute* to post for Easter~ you ALWAYS have something CUTE to post!! I just LOVE it!! I look so forward to reading your entries and seeing what you’re up to next… Someday, I’m going to even figure out how you can afford to give things away too!! Seriously, how do you make money with your blog?! You’re such an inspiration, thank you again for sharing!!
Hmm..I love love love old fashioned donuts!
For Easter this year (since I didn’t know it was sooo early) we are actually spending it in Japan. They don’t celebrate there so no giant bunny cake for me this year. =(
And if you were wondering: bunny cake = two circle cakes, one circle for the head and one that has two cuts (top and bottom of circle) for the ears and what is left is a bow-tie shape.
Someday I will make shoe shaped doughnuts! It’s my dream! Cream filled stilettos? Oh my. As always I love your site!! Glad you feel better!
I am grateful for giant cupcake tins!
What an adorable necklace! Swarovski should come out with a cupcake pendant, too!
Dear Bakerella,
I heart doughnuts. Maple ones, oddly… Proly cause Im Canadian… I also love CAKE BALLS! Ive been making them all over the place, and everyone loves them. Thanks for that!
I’m so glad you’re feeling better. Sometimes when I’m a little bit blue, your blog is one pink happy scallop-edged bubble that always makes me smile. Thank you bakerella! I’ve been making homemade doughnuts, but haven’t goone topping/flavor crazy. I think now’s the time.
Oh ! oh ! oh ! I need that cute little necklace for my daughter Suzanne who loves do-nuts more that her luggage, and her b-day is Apr.29 !
If you get the chance go to the Swarvski factory in Austria – you will be in sparkle heaven!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the letter shaped doughnuts!! A few years back I decided I needed to start collecting old lettered (monogramed) flatware so that no matter which friend came for tea I could serve with a spoon that had her special letter on it. Hmmm, tea with a lettered spoon, doughnut that had a letter shape – maybe this could be a new party trend. . . . . . . .
I’m still one of those who wasnt seen the Alice in Wonderland but that necklace sure did inspire me to do that this weekend!
what an absolutely delicous post. my mouth is watering and i’m wondering where i can find donuts at this time of night???
First of all, glad you are back and feeling better. I know all about illness….But, something about me? You hit my addiction today – DOUGHNUTS!!!! I love doughnuts! I am contemplating a trip to Atlanta – to eat these doughnuts!! Oh my! Now I guess I will be heading to the doughnut shop in the morning!!! There goes the diet!!! :-)
what a super cute necklace! I heart donuts, my fav is the chocolate long john. im glad you are feeling better, you do amazing work!
Orange dream star looks so appealing and so does Dulce de Luche…and A-Town mocha…who am I fooling? I would love to eat all the donuts posted and not gain a single belly fat, wouldn’t that be nice if that’s possible?
How cute! Glad you’re feeling better.
Favorite donut flavor was a Krispy Kreme tropical flavor they made as the donut of the month a few years ago. It was amazing. Had like a creamy mango/pineapple/coconut cream filling with bright yellow glaze on top!
I’m glad you are not in the hospital and hope you are feeling better.
I may have to make a trip into town this weekend.
Love the necklaces as well. They are beautiful.
This easter we are having a crawfish boil! :)
I absolutely LOVE that necklace.
The random thing I will share about myself is that I am EXTREMELY excited to give my son his easter basket this year…he was too young to appreciate the magic last year! oh…and I really like doughnuts! :)
cinnamon and sugar friedcakes (especially if they are still warm) are the ultimate doughnut. a close second is maple frosted :) although, that mocha one looks pretty tempting…i would love to try that!!!
Bakerella, you rock! I’m in GA, too! And, I we just had the best weekend…our oldest child was accepted to UGA (which is surprisingly difficult) and to Wake Forest!
OK, doughnuts. I like yeast doughnuts glazed. But I went to volleyball camp as a teen at a tiny college in Iowa (Graceland College) and they had the most amazing cake doughnuts. I liked those with a little icing. You would love these doughnuts.
I am not far from Atlanta…I’ve got to try those doughnuts!!
and love that necklace!
[glad you are feeling better :) ]
i think you should have a show like guy’s diners, drive-ins and dives…
but, cupcakes, cookies, and confections…
my little about myself is, publix yoyo cookies are the best dand dessert i have ever had, a great follow up to their chicken tenders or their subs…
I love anything from Krispe Kreme
I love all things Easter-The look on my childrens face when they awake to their baskets is priceless.
I used to be a Dialysis Nurse so I understand exactly how you feel. We were overjoyed everytime we “lost” a patient to a transplant!! Hope your kidney last forever, I have a friend who’s had one for almost 30 years.
As for Swarovski, my first purchase just happened to be Easter Eggs! I bought one set while on vacation, and after I got home I loved them so much I called the same store and had them send me a second set. Now I have them all displayed in a little Egyptian bowl that has 3 cats as the “feet”.
regular glazed donuts are always my go-to favorite. however, i did just try a dulce de leche doughnut from Doughnut Plant in Manhattan — it’s out of this world.
I Love, LOVE Donuts with lemon cream filling inside. Yummy yummy, YUMMY!
This easter we are doing as little as possible!
Doughnuts are my #1 weakness. It tops the list surpassing shoes, handbags, and chocolate.
A fellow co-worker asked what kind of cake I’d like for our office celebration of my 29th birthday. I requested for a doughnut tower instead of a cake. She giggled. I didn’t. I got strawberry cupcakes instead. Little did she know, I really was serious. There always is next year! =)
Favorite doughnut flavor is a simple one – a chocolate cake doughnut (it was my wedding doughnut, on top of a Krispy Kreme cake)…
First of all, I am glad you are ok.
I am thankful you do awareness type treats as well, as my son suffers from Type 1, or Juvenile Diabetes (not adult onset, type2 that is talked about in the news all the time). In April, he will have been diabetic for 6 years now. He was just 3 at diagnosis. Sometimes I try and modify treats like yours for him with splenda so he can have sweets, but for the most part, he can’t. Awareness for these kinds of things is important.
But enough of that. Those doughnuts look divine!! And I so love the necklace. You always have the best giveaways!!
Take care, I hope you stay well.
Very simply, I’m grateful that my family is healthy. We live a very average life and sometimes we need to remember how wonderful average can be.
There is nothing better than a glazed vanilla cream-filled doughnut! This is one of the tastes that takes me back to my childhood – what sweet memories!
Hi Bakerella! I hope you’re feeling better. :) This Easter I will be putting on my hanbok, a Korean traditional dress that I only wear once a year. And also indulging in some dark chocolate eggs!
I am grateful for my brand new daughter (10 weeks old), my husband, chocolate, donuts and my health. :o)
Happy Easter
Donuts look wonderfully delicious! Necklace is beyond cute. I wish I had Easter plans. And I’m just thankful to be walking. I haven’t walked in 82 days and now, I am able to walk and for that, I am very grateful.
I remember having the most spectacular cookies and cream donut from Las Vegas back when I was sixteen years old. It was so good that I can still recall it vividly even six years later. Do you think I can find anything even remotely similar in my area? Not a chance. Heartbreaking, truly.
what a fabulous post. I’d say I love a good yeast donut with chocolate and custard inside but I’ve never been anywhere to experience such delish as you did!
I am glad you are feeling better!! That necklace is SO cute!
I think out of the doughnuts the Oreo one sounds the best, with the Smores one in a close second!
i just had a chocolate frosted dunkin doughtnut last night after visiting coney island. Coney was cold and desserted, I’d come a couple hours too late for rides.
Wow, those doughnuts look fantastic!! My favorite is angel creme with a super thick chocolate frosting!! YUM:)
So glad you are back and feeling better. I grew up in NC, so my favorite doughnut will always be Krispy Kreme. Those Georgia doughnuts look pretty awesome though.
I just had a chocolate frosted dunkin doughtnut last night after visiting coney island. Coney was cold and desserted, I’d come a couple hours too late for rides.
Your site has inspired me to try baking and I’m proud to say I’ve made my first batch of mini cupcakes today! With purple frosting too! So, thank you! I can’t wait to see what new ideas you have in store for us. : )
Glad to hear you are doing better!
My guilty pleasure is anything chocolate. I love to bake, but refrain as my waistline despises me at the present, and we are on a gluten-free diet to help my son with his Sensory Processing Disorder. It’s helping him focus, and I love it. I’m going to try and make some Gluten free Cake pops in the near future, as he enjoys when I make them and put funny faces on them. ;-) So truly, my guilty pleasure is to spoil my son when I can.
I WANT IT!! super cute!
get well soon!
That necklace is so cute! I love, love, love donuts, but my waist does not so we are no longer close friends. I would have to say that in general chocolate is my favorite, but wow some of these look so good I could lick the computer screen. Oops, my mouth is drooling…
I would like to try that carmel apple fritter, that sounds wonderful.
Love your website, glad you are feeling better.
This Easter, I will be at a huge Easter Brunch with the family’s of my boyfriend’s sister and fiance. They are flying out here from the East Coast to get married next Saturday.
i love peanut doughnuts which seem to be the hardest to find! but maybe that’s a good thing!
I discovered that I love to bake but not decorate!
MMmmmmmm…….Chocolate with sprinkles is my favorite! But, I would certainly be willing to try a Peanut Butter Cup Doughnut!!!
sweet!!!!!!! Your creations look divine and so creative. Thanks for sharing you blog. The necklace is adorable.
So glad that you’re feeling better! The necklace is gorgeous! I’m trying the chick pops this weekend for Easter :) The doughnuts look delicious!
We have a place called Donut King here. They make the best tasting donuts ever! We pass by a Dunkin to get there. So yummy!
Good to hear you are better!
Now I’m gonna have to go buy me some donuts.
My favorite is…
Chocolate covered Barvarian Cream….
or is it ….
Original New Orleans– Cafe’ Du Monde ‘s –Beignets(French Doughnuts) ?
(Choices…. choices) Uhh….Got a coin?
Either way…. BON APPETIT !!!!!
i just came home from the gym and now i’m salivating over these photos- omg i love donuts and wish i could run out to get one right now!!
I LOVE THIS WEBSITE, IT HAS SUCH GREAT IDEAS. THE CAKE POPS WERE A HUGE HIT AT MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY THANK YOU
I love the shapes of those donuts that you posted!
Love the doughnuts! I just want to try all of them. But I really want ot try a maple bacon doughnut.
That is such a cute necklace!! And I don’t have a favorite doughnut, they are all so amazing! :)
Oh my heck, cutest necklace ever! I’d love to win! I’m a sucker for coconut creme and Boston creme donuts… but I’m not picky! :)
So glad that you are feeling better. Donuts?! Really…goodness, Atlanta is only a 6 hour drive…totally worth it. But then again, I’d drive to Tampa or Orlando just to catch the “HOT” light on at a Krispy Kreme. Is that bad or just oh so right?!
Looking forward to the book and again, so glad you’re on the road to better health. :)
Let’s see here…
Just tell me something about yourself. I am a 30 year old Elementary School Teacher with a cat, a boyfriend, and an awesome family.
Your favorite doughnut flavor? Anything au chocolat!
Something you’re grateful for? I am grateful for answered prayers.
What you’ll be doing this Easter? This Easter I’m going to my future inlaws, my mom’s, and to a maple sugar farm.
Some usual or unsusual talent you have? Usual-ish: I can touch my tongue to my nose annnnd Unusual: I can make my gum sound like a quacking duck.
How many pair of shoes you own? Way. Too. Many. Just got some new heels on Friday night. Oops.
Phobias? Vomit.
Favorite guilty pleasure. Carbs. Period.
Surprise me. I check your site daily, even though I know you almost always update on Sundays. Oh and I made those cupcake Easter baskets last Easter. I gave 4 to my mom in a cute little cupcake box and then I found them in her freezer in October when she was on holiday. Wasn’t too impressed.
I have a batch of soft, sweet and salty snickerdoodles in the oven right now!!
What beautiful doughnuts! Let’s see..it’s not so much of a flavor, but I love sprinkles on doughnuts. It’s just so festive. :)
Those necklaces are adorable!
And a special talent I have: I can lick my elbow.
Have a Happy Easter and thank you for sharing all these tasty creations!
So sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, but donuts! Mmm. When it comes to flavors of most of anything, I’m fairly boring. I eat red and pink jellybeans, but throw out or give away the rest; I stick to the three flavors of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry); and as far as donuts go, I always gravitate to the plain cake with vanilla icing and rainbow sprinkles. It makes me feel like a kid again, and sure sometimes I want to try seasonal flavors (pumpkin!) or even something a little different (not coffee, though, bleh)… but I always end up getting my old standby. Love it.
OOOh! I hope u r feeling better soon. I’ve been looking for you everyday. I love your site, and who wouldn’t love a crystal encrusted doughnut! I’ll be driving thru Atlanta this weekend, I may have to pick up a doz. Sublime Doughnuts. YUM : )~
Something about myself…hmmm… well, can I just make a little true confession here – I peruse craft blogs and baking blogs so much that I made myself put one of those leechblock things on my computer so that I wouldn’t spend all my time browsing. I just get to clicking away and I just can’t stop. I book mark all kinds of ideas and links (if anyone else is addicted to this you should download simplybox – it will take your blog surfing to a whole notha’ level!) – One blog entry that I willingly gave a whole lotta time to was the one about Sugar Coma – I was looking up bakeries and seeing where they were on maps and trying to figure out how I could get my butt over to Atlanta. Oh, now I’m rambling. I ramble – that’s something else about myself. Oh, an I love donuts!
I am diabetic so I don’t eat donuts!
Hi Bakerella. I just want to share that the first time I saw your photo, I knew there was something different from you, and I had that same feeling every time I would see a picture of you. But I just kept on dismissing it because I thought it would be impossible for you to have a “health problem” since you make and eat a lot of sweets. Now, I found out that you had an organ transplant, and I’m very grateful for that. I am grateful that you’re around to share these wonderful creations that inspire and warm the hearts of thousands of people all around the world, including me! Take care! -Anna
Wow! I had to go make the quickie doughnuts after reading this. They are no way as good as those look, but…. I sure ate 3 real fast. Cute – cute – cute necklace!! I love it.
Mmmm, this was such a tasty post!!! That Oreo doughnut looks RIDICULOUS. But in a good way. ;)
Random fact about me: I am terrified of the dark. Well, not of the dark itself, but of the things IN the dark…although they don’t exist. Things like zombies, vampires, and living mannequins. It’s so weird.
This Easter, we will get to color Easter eggs for the first time (my kids are 4 and 7 years old) since we’ve outgrown the egg allergy!!!
I love your site! I am making Easter basket cupcakes for Easter! i have been planning for a month. Glad you are feeling better.
I once went to a combination Thai food/doughnut restaurant in Annapolis, MD….to this day it remains one of my favorite and most random dining experiences of all time.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I am 8 months pregnant and you just gave me the WORST craving for doughnuts now. *sigh*
I’m a relay for life junkie, and known to make purple cupcakes!
wow = pver 4668 postings…
For Easter I sometimes make a lamb cake from a 2 piece pan that my dad remembers from his childhood…. he is 70.
Just love your site – I always feel inspired to create something beautiful and yummy by coming here.
My fav donut is an apple fritter – but that seems pretty dull compared to the beauties on this post! I may need to take a trip to Georgia just to get some!
P.S. The donut necklace is ADORABLE! (i am keeping my fingers crossed :-)
Those donuts look absolutely delicious! Generally, I prefer maple-iced cream filled, but I would eat any of the ones you featured.
mmm…Doughnuts…heaven… :P I’m usually a plain doughnut kind of person but a little chocolate on top never hurts. :)
Hello and so glad to hear from you again. Please take it easy for a bit and more importantly, for yourself. Since we are south of the Big City of Atl., by approx. one hour, I think we may be takin’ a ride……………yes, of course, for doughnuts ! Yes, how do we chose which few(?) to get??Help me Bakerella, what was the tastiest????Have a Hoppy Easter to you and your and all out and about in the awesome country of ours!
I think that lil donut necklace is adorable! I adore your site and aspire to bake and take pics like you.
Thanks for offering such a great giveaway.
Now I’m craving donuts!
My favorite donut is any donut!! I am having Chemo now for stage 4 Colon Cancer. Had no idea! Found out right before Christmas, but I am fighting hard and finding some success!! God Bless the Organ Donor!! Never, ever give up because you never know when it is your turn for a miracle!!
What a cute necklace! How sweet of you to give it away.
Stories like this make me want to travel more.
I think a trip to Georgia is needed. :)
I just bought a StrollerFit franchise in Houston, Tx.
My fav doughnuts are the maple glazed ones, do you happen to know how to make the maple glaze?
I’d love to win an adorable necklace…
And just so you know, I made a fabulous chocolate and vanilla layered cheesecake with a crushed chocolate teddy graham crust this weekend :)
Super cute necklaces! I am so glad you’re feeling a little better!
Something about me? I have the most adorable, cuddly, little boy who rules my world. I never knew love with no boundaries until I laid eyes on this little blue eyed boy!!
To be honest, I only ever eat one or two donuts a YEAR. We don’t have donut specialty stores here where I live…just Tim Horton’s. If I had access to the donut store you do, then I’d order myself a dozen for a party all by myself too!
I was wondering why you didn’t post in so long and was actually worried, I am glad to hear that you are doing well now and that you came back with such a delicious post!!
This Easter I will probably be stuck writing some paper.. darn college!
xoxox
Claudia Saenz
I’m boring…I like plain old glazed doughnuts. I’m grateful for the health of my daughter, who has severe cerebral palsy. And this Easter, I’m celebrating with my partner, our 5 kids, and my brand new puppy Bella :)
Grateful for the new job that I just took as a baker! Now I get to be a Bakerella all day long! I’m also grateful that my son is turning 2 on Saturday. I’ll be making a Handy Manny themed cake for the next 4 days but seeing the face on my little man when he sees the cake will be worth it!! : )
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm…….dooooooughnuts!
My first job in high school was to make the donuts every Saturday and Sunday morning at Lewis Country Farm in Poughkeepsie, NY. It gave me a true appreciation for rings of dough deep fried and dunked into cinnamon sugar still just a touch warm. Let’s just say, it took me a good 10 years to find Dunkin Donuts pleasing at all. Blueberry is the closest I can get. :)
I hope you are feeling better and all is well with your health!!!!! :(
Guilty pleasure…baked goods! Mmmmmm…
I made banana oatmeal bread this weekend, in the form of cupcakes! Super easy and nobody has to cut the bread!
Favorite doughnut – good ol’ glazed. nothing fancy, just fresh and hot!
Glazed blueberry cake donuts, although I’m also partial to apple fritters and scones.
There is nothing better than a fresh hot Krispy Kreme! That does it for me everytime. That adorable necklace would look great with my Easter outfit!
This Easter, my brother is FINALLY gettin married, YAHOOO!! And raspberry filled powdered sugar doughnuts are my favorite.
Oh my gosh! This is the most scrumptious looking doughnut post ever! I tend to mainly eat plain glazed or cake doughnuts, but these pics have my mouth watering!
Well I wouldn’t be a good Canadian if I didn’t love a good maple donut from Tim Hortons!!! That is a sweet necklace!!! Your site is amazing and I can’t wait for your book!!!
Love doughnuts. All doughnuts. I wonder if there are any S’mores doughnuts in Massachusetts?
I love donuts…..but I only like plain glazed! I could eat a dozen right now.

So glad your feeling better! The red velvet donut looks so good makes me drool like Homer Simpson.
I am a 17 year cancer survivor!!!
I am afraid of deep murky lake water with dead stumps and rotting logs lurking underneath the surface. I was even a lifeguard for 3 years on a lake. Strange, I know!
You’re my kind of gal! I would have loved to bite into everyone of those donuts too!
For Easter I’m making a wonderful NY style crumb cake recipe I found online. It is absolutely, positively, scrumptious!!
donuts and jewelry…does it get any better?
doughnuts are a slippery slide for me! i can get addicted to them very quickly.
something interesting about me… my favorite doughnuts are buttermilk bars. i love to bake. and i’m afraid to try making cheesecake because i’m afraid if i get good at it i will never stop eating!
We missed my daughters volleyball sign up so we are baking. I am teaching her how to bake and measure and read directions! We are having a ball!
hmm… i’m really 5 ft 0.75 in but i round up to 5 ft 1 in so i don’t seem that short ~_^
that necklace is soo cute!
Donuts are my guilty pleasure! They are absolutely my favorite food, and I would take a donut over cake, candy, pie, ice cream, any other sweet ever!
Hope you feel better!

I LOVED THE DIFFERENT DOUGHNUTS!! AND THE NECKLACE, REALLY CHARMING!!!

Nothing beats a hot Krispy Kreme…right off the line!!
My daughter turns 1 on Wednesday! I am most grateful for her and the most amazing year she has given me.
I Love Donuts!! I Love Jewelry! I Love Baking! and….I Love Bakerella!!
Love the giveaway! That necklace is DARLING.
I love pretty much any flavor of cake donut. I ate an awesome with Fruity Pebbles on the top from a great place called The Donut Whole in Wichita, KS.
Ah-mazing flavors they have there!!!!!
Love the Alice collection from Swarovski too!
In my head that Dulce de Leche doughnut tastes AMAZING….too bad Atlanta is so far away – I want one!!

sorry to hear you were sick. Glad to hear your feeling better! There’s a doughnut place here in Tampa I’ve been meaning to try (rumor is he sells out daily by 10 AM!) and this post I think sealed my fate. I see doughnuts in my near future!!!
That necklace is so cute =). All those doughnuts look so delicous, I could sit and taste them all too. Although my favorite doughnut right now is the original glazed.
Glad to have you back. And now I’m craving a donut. I’m weird, my favorite donut is a plain cake donut!! YUMMY!
1. I LOVE DOUGHNUTS and i’m surprised I’m not 1000 pounds because my grandfather owned a doughnut shop when I was young. Gibson’s Donuts. Still exists to this day in Memphis, TN.
2. I’m grateful because I just found out yesterday that I passed all of my comprehensive exams for my Master’s degree. So it’s official, April 30th, I will be graduating. :)
Doughnuts! Heaven!!
I will definitely be finding Sublime doughnut on my way home…and back down to school.
Something random. I hate cardboard. Absolutely hate it. It makes my teeth hurt. But I love doughnuts. & Easter candy. Yum!
My basement has flooded and we (my husband and I) look at it as a blessing in disguise b/c we were going to start finishing it and now are taking a step back and getting it really waterproofed first!
The necklace is super cute!
I wasn’t very fond of doughnuts at first… until I tried the special edition “Strawberries & Kreme” doughnut at Krispy Kreme in London last june.
Oh God.
It was so… so… PERFECT.
The strawberry and cream filling… the strawberry glaze… and (yum) the little bits of strawberry on top.
I’m melting.
(Oooops, my bad, I’m only dripping saliva all over the keyboard.)
I never met a donut I didn’t like… but WOW those look amazing! :)
I am in love with this necklace. It’s all I think about!
That necklace is adorable. My favorite doughnut would have to be just a plain cake doughnut from Golden Crust bakery. They are fabulous. You need a big glass of milk to eat one of those.
I’m sorry you’ve been ill and so glad you’re out of the hospital! I have health issues too and know it can be frustrating, though I do feel thankful to live in an age where modern medicine has been able to prolong my life (as I’m sure you do too!). Something about me? Well, I’m like you with the doughnuts–I like to order one of as many kinds as possible and take a bite or two of each. I don’t have a favorite–I love all doughnuts and am happiest when I am able to fulfill my fantasy of tasting as many as I can.
I just started a cupcake and event planning business and I am super afraid at failing. BUT I have 7 events in the next few months after just a few weeks of being in business and it has me super excited for the things to come!
This Easter my family is having a picnic in our backyard (if the weather holds out!) And I am making the bunny cake pops because my daughter went crazy for them last year.
Those donuts look amazing!
I wish I could make something like that, sadly I am afraid of hot oil completely destroying my kitchen so my life is sad and lonely without adding fried goods to my repertoire, and my waistline.
So I’m so sad that I didn’t learn about this website sooner, because I definitely would have won the Oscar prediction contest! I watched the movies and got most of the winners right! Ah well, maybe I can win this one :)
So glad you are feeling better. Those donuts look amazing. Can I have a bite of each one? I just want to try them…really!
I’m seven months pregnant and this baby loves cruellers!!
I am in love with this necklace….and I’m thinking I’m going to have to go hunt down this Sublime Doughnut yummy looking goodness!
I hope you continue to feel better and better! The doughnut necklaces are just too cute for words! I’m in the middle of baking cupcakes for my first grade class. We’re going to decorate them tomorrow! I think I’m crazy but I know they’ll love it.
I’m getting married in July and my wedding diet doesn’t let me have sweets. But I still read your blog (even though I can’t eat anything you make).
Those doughnuts look wonderful and the flavors are so creative. They remind me of the amazing cupcake selection at Crumbs Bake Shop. You have to save this special a treat for a very special occasion.
One of my husband and my favorite memories is of our first year married. We lived in a ratty apartment that just happened to be near a great donut shop. One morning, setting off for work in Boston, we stopped at the shop for a treat and they’d just taken chocolate glazed out of the oven. Most delicious donut we’d ever had and nothing so far has compared! :)
Easter will be getting up VERY early to hide the eggs in the yard and then feigning sleep so that my little girls can go “hunt” for them. Hopefully, this monsoon rain will have stopped and we’ll see a bit of spring. Happy Easter!
Super cute necklace! Thanks for the opportunity to win it! I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better.. hang in there!
