Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.
And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.
Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.
You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.
But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.
Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.
Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.
See.
No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.
Finally, I found you.
Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.
But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.
I ordered a dozen for myself.
Each one different.
Like this Smores doughnut.
This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.
And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.
I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.
Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.
As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.
Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.
And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.
And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.
Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.
Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.
If you’re not convinced, take a look at….
this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.
I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.
Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.
Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.
Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.
Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.
All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Your favorite doughnut flavor? Something you’re grateful for? What you’ll be doing this Easter? Some usual or unsusual talent you have? How many pair of shoes you own? Phobias? Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.
Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.
Good luck.
Wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. Reading your comments makes me laugh and sometimes makes me cry. But they always brighten my day. Thank you.
Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.
Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!
P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.
We are not so spoiled here in Canberra, chocolate glazed yeast doghnut please!
Well I’m known for talking for, so here you go. I’m thankful that you are ok after being sick, as I love your blog and look forward to your posts and ideas. I love donuts and think the necklace is too sweet! On a personal note, April will be a difficult month as it will mark one year since my mother suddenly and unexpectedly left us too soon at 58 years. After 38 years of nursing, she was able to help one last time, as an organ donor. She saved several lives and to see the joy you bring to the world as an organ recipient makes her loss, though bittersweet, a bit easier to handle. Thank you.
I hope you are feeling better. Glad to have a post to read today.
I’ve felt deprived of donuts for a long time.
Something about myself: I have a baby tooth. And I’m 35.
Also, I looooooooooooove me some Bakerella. (Brief downer ahead…) My mom passed away very suddenly almost 15 years ago, and she was an organ donor. We were so blessed (beyond words…) to know that such a tragedy brought joy to someone else. Thanks for sharing yourself, Bakerella.
yes.
I really like the necklace! It is so cute! The donuts look good also but, because of allergies I can not eat foods w/gluten or wheat in them…bummer huh : ( Thank you for sharing really cool cooking and baking stuff with us!
hope you are feeling better! Thanks for the inspired doughnut review. LOVE, love, love that you bought a dozen and took a bite of each. You are amazing!
Wow! What a ton of comments…my fav donut is a maple bar or wait maybe a blueberry cake donut…or perhaps a plain glazed one hot off the rack from krispie kreme – oh so many choices! I hope i win the necklace – it’s ADORABLE!
I own too many pairs of shoes. I like white cake doughnuts with chocolate frosting (sometimes sprinkles). I am thankful for my family!
bakerella, you also find (and make) the most delectable things!! My favorite donut – Boston Creme, I could eat the filling by the spoonful :)
Hmmm… my favorite donut would HAVE to be powdered cinnamon apple. It’s too delicious to resist!
I’ve been avoiding sweets lately, but I’ve been obsessing about sugary foods all day. Now I can’t stop thinking about apple fritters from the bakery at the grocery store I use.
I live in the country, have 4 kids and 3 chickens.
This Easter I’m making cake pops and going to buy a caramel apple fritter from my local Tim Hortons. All the Sublime donuts look sooooo good!
Cute necklace! I have lost 41 pounds since the first of this year. This necklace would be a great reminder that a donut looks better around my neck, than on my hips!!!
yay for wearable delicisousness! I am really excited for my husband’s birthday Wednesday, because I now have an excuse for this! http://deliciouslyorganic.blogspot.com/2009/04/butterscotch-brownies.html
I’m so happy that you are feeling better! I absolutely love the necklace and LOVE donuts! My husband and I went to LA two summers ago, bought donuts from Yum Yum donuts, and drove down the PCH with the windows rolled down eating them. We ordered a baker’s dozen and got 14 donuts!
Hi! My name is Kate and I like old-fashion cake doughnuts. I’m grateful for holiday themed candy and new “gravity-defying” Easter eggs (for the serious Easter egg hunter). I’ll be participating in a very serious Easter egg hunt on Sunday. 4 hunters- ages 23, 25, 27, and 28. I have a talent for buying amazing presents. I own at least 20 pair of shoes, though only 6 pairs are go-to’s. I’m afraid of kidnappers and people who hide in closets.
I love your blog!!!
Thanks for all the amazing posts!
Kate
Wow that necklace is cute. I love love love to bake and it is funny that it is a doughnut because the few memories I have cooking with my dad are of the home made ones we used to make on the weekends when I was little. Warm out of the fryer and dropped into a brown paper bag filled with either powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. Mmmm….
I love your blog! I enjoy baking, and I love that you do things for a cause. I am a volunteer for the American Cancer Society here in Portland Oregon, and I use some of your great ideas for meetings and fundraisers. Thanks for being so awesome! Glad to hear you are feeling better, and God Bless.
I love maple frosted donuts from Dunkin Donuts…..also, a guilty pleasure would be those Pop ’ems chocolate frosted donut holes!
I have a sister-in-law waiting on the list for a kidney transplant. Your post really hit home with me. I do hope you are feeling much better now :)
On a happier note…you site has made me start making pops all.the.time….
Bakerella,
I am so glad that you are doing better.
My special interest…is totally useless. I am freakishly good at jigsaw puzzles. Some day I’ll use my talent to make a jigsaw cake! :)
Favorite doughnut flavor? I am a plain-jane kind of girl. I love original vanilla ices doughnuts with a cup of milk!
I like plainJane cake donuts … or old-fashioned cake donuts with a tall glass of cold milk – yum!
I could eat donuts every meal every day and never tire of them!
for easter i will be celebrating passover!
So glad you are feeling better! What an amazing person you are. Such a fun blog to read.
I’m pregnant and recently the only thing I truly enjoy eating is… Little Debbie nutty bars! I could polish off an entire box without blinking an eye. And I bake and appreciate a good sweet, but for some reason these treats taste like the work of a master pastry chef to me.
I do have something to share and that’s my sad sad demise :(
I can’t eat any sweets 8O
Yeah, my mom won’t let me. It’s both unhealthy and I’ve gotten tooooo many cavities.
But that necklace is adorable. Although it’s not edible, it’s super sweet!
Oh my God those doughnuts look amazing! I’m so glad you’re feeling better. I missed your posts. So creative. Pick me! <3
OK,OK, let me get my thoughts together. You said DOUGHNUTS! I’m glad to hear you are doing better. My fav. doughnut…these so many, I’ll have to say “plain” or “chocolate bar” or “glazed”. Something about my self.. I CAN NOT MAKE moist cupcakes…I know, I know.. But really I hate to say it, but it is ture..
Doughnuts have always been my favorite dessert/breakfast! i attempted to make some home made ones recently and epicly failed haha. I’ll have to try again sometime!
i may have to start visiting donut stores AND cupcake stores during my business travels. thanks for bring new yummy things to your blog. it is so fun, i love it!
My favorit guilty pleasure is visiting people.com to see what the celebrities are up to while drinking a soda
I’ll be making your Easter cake pops and sharing them with my family! We’ve already practiced making the bunnies, sheep, chicks, and eggs – all a hit! Thanks for the great ideas and Happy Easter!
I wish I had a necklace made out of those doughnuts! They look soooo amazing!
I L O V E donuts! Them and cupcakes are my favoritest thing ever! My fave donut is a boston cream. I have never had a fancy one other than Dunkin Donuts or KK…So I could just imagine how good these ones were!!! MMMMmm
mmm favourite guilty pleasure has to be…the top part of coffee cakes (i usually cut a slice then cut it in half horizontally so I get the strusel/frosting part!!) crazy guilty pleasure i know
Um…all I want to know is if they ship their donuts to Tacoma. I’m dying for one right now!
so cute!!! i wants it:)
thanks for the giving away-you are as sweet as your blog.
wow, those doughnuts look absolutely delicious – i’m really craving for some now!! i wish we had that shop here in london!
this easter i’m not doing much, except work + revision although my mum did buy lots of easter eggs in order to create an easter egg hunt which is always fun! :) i will also find time to bake bake bake to my heart’s content!
I love your site! I found it through tumblr and made my first cake pops this past weekend. I did the chicks for my niece’s first birthday party and they were a huge hit! I’m going to do more this weekend for Easter. You are so creative and I thank you for sharing your awesome ideas!!
I’m the only female firefighter in my whole town! and I LOVE to bug the guys by having anything-and everything- pink!
go girls!! :-) and, they’ve told me I can stay if I can cook like my dad (who is also a firefighter!) I can’t really cook, but I can bake!
One day I’m going to make every single item you’ve posted.I absolutely love the easy recipes!
Doughnuts…a wonderful thing. Love a frosted cake doughnut either with coconut or peanuts!
I (HEART) donuts!!!!!
I’ve eaten a dozen of donuts in one sitting. Boy was I hungry!
I was going to write about doughnuts and then I read your link and got teary-eyed. I am glad you’re ok now and I hope everyone who reads your blog has an organ donation card. I can’t be too profound, I keep thinking about that Oreo doughnut…
I love Boston Kreme donuts. YUMMY.
My favorite doughnut has got to be double chocolate with oreos on top… sinful and delicious!! These necklaces are adorable!
This easter I will be cooking a very big, hopefully yummy dinner with my roommates. Thanks for having the giveaway :)
i was soooo wondering what happened to you! glad you are feeling better! those doughnuts looooks sooo stinking appetizing- i want one! hee hee! oh and this Easter will be spent at church and then at family dinner =)
Funny you should have a donut post around Easter because my favorite donuts is the Bavarian Cream (however I am going to order from the fine folks above mentioned) and every Easter my family and I go to the local donut shop and have a tasty treat. It was a fluke one year and now after 7 we’ve made it a tradition. (and yes I do eat donuts besides on Easter but that’s a quilt free day :)
Glad you are feeling better!
I own 125 pairs of shoes, at last count, which was over a year ago. It’s a sickness =P
i love chocobutternut hmmmm yumyum
I’ve following u for a while now but never comment… this time I wanted to tell u that I’m really glad u’re ok, we missed u around here!
I really like butterscotch filled doughnuts….they are the best!!
I have always had a weakness for doughnuts. That and french fries. There’s just something about being deep fat fried that I can’t resist. Can I win a real doughnut from sublime? I would fly there just to try one… mmm…
Gosh, I’m sorry you spent time in the hospital….never fun…I hope you are feeling better now.
What cute necklaces…they are adorable.
I don’t have a particularly favourite donut flavor, BUT my son (who is 3) LOVES LOVES LOVES donuts with blue frosting…and whenever he requests a ‘blue donut’, he always request a “pink donut” for his 2 yr old sister.
And an fyi, for easter, I will be making your easter basket cupcakes from last year, I believe.
We have great doughnuts here in Portland, OR–Voodoo Doughnuts! My favorite is covered in Froot Loops. My husband and son love the Cap’n Crunch doughnuts. Or you can go with the classic Voodoo doughnut which is a jelly-filled gingerbread-man shape with a pretzel stick through the heart. :)
Since we are on the topic of doughnuts…Anytime I get a sweet tooth craving, and I just don’t want to wait til I bake something, I go down to Krisy Kreme with my hubby and hope that the “hot” sign is flashing! Most of the time it is. Then we buy a dozen doughnuts and I eat half the box all by myself. Wow! Its SO good. Now, I think I may have to grab some tonight. But those Sublime doughnuts look amazing! I may have to take a drive to Georgia!!!
Delish!
i guess 896 nuts on that doughnut! LOL! just kidding. i just love cake doughnuts! any kind too! but my favorite would be chocolate glaze with peanuts. AND i used to work in a doughnut shop….strangely though, i never cleaned out the display…i wonder how i had such discipline!
Don’t you just love swarovski! I always love looking that their collections when I’m at the mall, don’t own anything of my own though. All of those doughnuts look amazing! I have to say doughnuts are my weakness. I’ve never tried red velvet but that would probably be my favorite if I had. Since I was a little kid though maple frosted with walnuts has always been my favorite!
I love necklaces, Swarovski jewlery, and donughts even more.
I just love a good, rich homemade custard!
I’m from Pennsylvania and am going to school out in Lancaster. I have recently discovered a place called The Fractured Prune (sounds terrible, but is amazing). They make the most ridiculous donuts that I have ever seen (they make S’mores donuts too, and I am a sucker for anything with marshmallow and chocolate). I plan a double run on the treadmill after going there, but it’s worth it. Georgia’s pretty far to travel for a donut, but if those taste anything like The Fractured Prune’s delectable assortment, I’m sure they are beyond delicious.
Mmmmmm…..those look delicious! And so does the necklace :)
pick me! I love cherry donuts!
I love a raspberry filled doughnut, or the cream filled kind, but I never let myself eat them!
Glad you are feeling better! Hmm, something about me – I am working today, while my kids have 2 weeks off for Easter (had to go back to work during this tough economic – I was a stay at home mom) I wish I was home! I could use a donut about now!
I am a baton twirler. That is how I take off my doughnut weight!
Going to my sister’s for Easter this year. She just put in a new kitchen! Unfortunately, she asked me to bring veggies and not dessert!
I am glad to see you back gracing my screen with your wonderful goodies. Now I am craving a delicious doughnut. I would love that oreo one or anything with chocolate.
I wanted to share that I feel entirely blessed to have found my soul mate in my husband. Each night I lie down next to him I feel so lucky to share my life journey with him. That is what I feel blessed with today and each and every day.
those doughnuts look amazing! Especially the smore one…i have a soft spot (literally ) for marshmallows
I love your site, although a donut post is just pure torture! I do not live anywhere near a ‘good’ donut place.
Those doughnuts look so yummy! Bakerella, please find a recipe for doughnuts to share with us.
Next time I pass through Atlanta I am going to get some of these doughnuts! One of my good childhood memories is making doughnuts with my mom out of the refrigerated biscuit dough. Take a biscuit and make a hole in the center and fry them until golden brown. Make some simple icing and yummy!
This Easter I am going home from college so I can hang out with my family :) Unfortunately I have two huge exams the Monday after, so there will be a ton of studying during my Easter weekend.
I am in culinary school and we made doughnuts…But not like those !!!! I am going to make some for my Family Easter Brunch I host… This one is extra special..Our Mom survived a risky surgery and is at my home recupperating. Our family feels extra Blessed!!!
I love good old-fashioned glazed doughnuts the best, but those wild ones you tried from Sublime may change my mind if I ever get the chance to meet them.
I’m so glad you’re on your way to feeling better.
I love this necklace! Sooo cute!
As far as doughnuts, there is nothing like a freashly made apple fritter, extra crispy, lots of glaze. Yum
I haven’t had a doughnut in two years…ever since I left college at UVA, I couldn’t face a terrible DD when I could have been eating a delicious Spudnuts. And now…I think I have to make a trip to Atlanta. :)
Thanks, Bakerella! You sure know how to take care of us all!
In the interest of brevity, I guess I’ll just sum up my life as it stands right now for weirdness: By day I’m a technical writer, by night an aspiring baker (www.confectionism.net), always a rabid football fan, a metalhead who dabbles in obscure boardgames, and has an alarming love for trying different food.
Glad you’re feeling better!
I am in the process of planning a trip to Atlanta and after reading this, a stop by Sublime is on the schedule! :) Also…..a fact about myself…..I plan to open a bakery in 2013. :) Right now I’m working a a job that is actually related to my college degree….but as soon as I pay off some debt I am ditching the degree and planning to live my dream. As a future bakery owner, your site inspires me beyond words. Also, cute necklace (of course). :D
How cute! I am dying my hair pink right now for an Alice in Wonderland tea party :) Those donuts look delicious!
YOU KNOW WHAT?!
In Germany’s South where I live – Doughnuts are still rare – but we have something similar – it’s called “Berliner” and it is also a Fried dough,filled with strawberry confiture but it’s more ball- or bun-shaped and you usually find it covered in powdered sugar! (;
Lovely greetings from over the ocean
Katharina
from the BlackForestRegion/Germany (;
So glad you’re feeling better! Those donuts look positively divine… like they’d melt in your mouth…
Those necklaces are much too precious. Something random about me? Hmm…. I have two sweet little boys, who happen to have the same birthday, two years apart! People always ask me if we planned it that way, but no, it was just pure coincidence. Brothers and best friends, with the same birthday! So, so fun.
Love the necklace and love your site! Thanks for all the awesome ideas! My favorite donut flavor is a simple caramel glazed donut with sprinkles!!!
My favorite is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate glaze. A girl can never have too much chocolate!!
I really want to try a doughnut with maple glaze and bacon. Heard they’re delicious.
I enjoy simplicity: chocolate glazed, although anything with peanut butter is divine. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts in the lobby of my building and it’s so hard not to pop in every day!
Wishing we had a Sublime Doughnuts in Minneapolis! I love cake doughnuts of any variety, but could go for just about any of the ones shown in your post. I’ve tutored many friends on the art and technique of cake ball/Oreo truffle dipping. I’m grateful that my husband and I are buying a house and I’ll finally have a place to put my decorating tools! Guilty pleasure? Honestly: doughnuts. Cake or rasied, or both. I’ll take three.
For Easter, we are dyeing eggs with natural ingregients for the first time. Im excited to see what we get and how much fun my kids have doing it.
Shoes? Donuts? Oohh I like both! I have tons of shoes — I love the look of heels, and I buy them, but I never wear them! It’s a sad sad obsession :)
And Donuts — Boston Cream from Tim Hortons (I know, nothing fancy or homemade) … but, for as long as I can remember getting a donut, it was that. My dad would treat me with one as a child … and to this day, it’s my favorite :)
(though, I’m not too too pickie when it does come to donuts)
I would kill for a Red Velvet donut — Holy smokes that would be sooo yummy :)
Love today’s post!!
I’m a chocolate frosted cake donut girl!
Unfortunately, I just lost a dear friend to cancer this week and we will going to her funeral on Holy Saturday. Hopefully, it will be a celebration of her life.
Not sure what Easter will look like at this point. Thanks for cute, fun ideas that never fail to delight!
that necklace is too cute! boston kreme donuts are the best :)
oh…and I’m glad you’re feeling better…
My hubby is a cop, so I just have to win the necklace. Pleeez….
OMG! love the doughnut necklace! i will be spending this week and Easter with my family (Yay!) bc the bakery where i work will be closed for Passover (they are Jewish..i am not :)). Dont know if u’ve ever heard of ICES (thats International Cake Exploration Society – phew!). gr8 organization that would love to have you!
I have been trying very hard to stay away from sublime. Especially, the red velvet donut. I guess I’m going to have to go over there! Thanks for sharing…
I’m glad you are feeling better! Those doughnuts look amazing. My aunt lives in GA, I wonder if she could send me some. My favorite doughnuts are usually the cinnamon sugar twist ones or the boston creme ones, when I was a kids I was all about the jelly doughnuts. I just love all doughnuts LOL. I don’t think I’ve ever typed that many “doughnuts” at one time before. I adore that necklace. =]
I’m glad you’re okay! Hope you won’t have to make another trip.
And nothing ever tops my boston creme doughnuts! YUM
I can admit it now, I am a light junkie. I love the way the sunlight filters through the lace shade in my sewing room. Paritcularly in the late afternoon when my cats are sunning themselves on the window sill. I can remember times in my life by how the sun was shining that day. Weird, I know. I’ve just always been moved by the light of the sun.
I love the necklace, too!
i am a chocolate snob!
whenever i am making cupcakes or cookies i will unfailingly make something chocolate-flavoured unless a special request is made for something else.
it’s not dessert if there’s no chocolate!
I love donuts- mostly chocolate swirls from the local bakery. They put cinnamon in their dough- its kinda like crack- ADDICTING! And I have a shopping problem with accessories, so this cute little number would go perfect in my already overflowing jewlery drawer! :)
For Easter my boyfriend is finally coming home after three weeks. I’m going to surprise him by making cute ‘peep’ and ‘mini egg’ topped cupcakes :)
I have been reading your blog for a while now but have never posted a comment. What am I grateful for? My family especially my Husband. He loves for who I am the good, the bad, the ugly.
My favorite donut would have to be the honey glazed donut my mom makes.
I can’t wait for my new pair of fancy flip-flops to arrive on my doorstep. That necklace would look great with them. :-)
I wished I lived in the south so I could try those doughnuts. They look A – mazing.
Nothing could possibly be better than a Krispy Kreme cream filled doughnut. Period. I have been searching far and wide and experimenting, but I cannot find the recipe for THAT cream filling. Anybody? Seriously, anybody have any leads?
hope you’re okay now bakerella <3
i love what you have done to raise awareness for organ donation, i am an organ donor :)
and them doughnuts look heavenly, yummmmy!
Absolutely wonderful post, made me almost drool on to my keyboard!
My favourite doughnuts, are ones with a custard filling ..mmmmmmm (uh oh..almost drooling again :P)
I just moved back home from uni for the holidays, to study for my exams, but I’m suffering major withdrawal symptoms from my bf :(
An interesting fact about me…. I can say the alphabet backwards :D (gosh i’m so cool!!!)
Thanks for having such a delicious blog, which I can dip into in between revising :) x
Lovely! And so good to hear you’re getting better :)
My plans for easter include travelling home (hello 10½hrs on a train!) and just hanging with friends and relatives. I’m so looking forward to seeing my friends because we have planned lots of crazy things to do! Can’t wait! Happy easter from Finland :)
I would loooove to try all of those donuts you’ve showed. I may just have to experiment at home!
hi – so glad you are feeling better now! i love chocolate doughnuts, but really, any kind will do!
Cutest necklace!!! Those donuts look yummy too!!!
Mmmmm…donuts.
I love love love the donut, but I must keep myself from them.
When I eat a donut it’s like when pigs get a taste for blood.
Ahhhh.
LOVE THE DOUGHNUTS – THE SMORES DOUGHNUT LOOKS DIVINE!!!!
FEEL BETTER.
I’m sick of the rain…I think my feet are starting to web
Love Love Love just a good ole’ chocolate covered long john :-)
I’m a plain chocolate glazed doughnut lover myself, nothing fancy going on here. Well… maybe if I walked into that store I’d have to be. The S’Mores one sounded delish!! Mmmmm!
that is so cute! I love doughnuts, my favourite is definitely strawberry jelly but hey, i’d eat any =)
Adorable! An the donuts look scrumdidlyumptious!
hmmm I love blueberry fritters or boston cream… that necklace is a.dor.able!!! Love your site! Always filled with such sweet things!
I love the oreo donut! it looks Yummy!
My doughnuts must contain chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! I eat them for dessert rather than breakfast. Yum!
That is so cute! Love the necklace, donuts should be a food group in my opinion!
I go days eating nothing but sweets. This is why I love you ;)
I was wondering where you were- but I thought maybe you were spring breaking somewhere. I am sorry you were under the weather- but so glad that you feel better. I am grateful for my husband, my daughters, my nephew, and my sister.
My husband loves me even when I am mean.
My daughters are my very heart- beautiful and crazy.
My nephew reminds me that God loves us exactly how we are.
My sister is my best friend.
Aw jeez that’s adorable. I’ve always loved doughnuts, but my favorite was always raspberry filled with powdered sugar on top. I’ve never found the wonderful ones you’re displaying here, now I think I need to go to the east coast! Oh, hm, phobias. I’m afraid of pipes, drains, large tanks of water, and any water I can’t see the bottom of. Yep, swimming in a lake is risky business here.
I love necklaces and I love sweets. (But not as much as I love you, Bakerella! <3) Those donuts look sooo good.
That necklace is way to cute!! I am a huge doughnut fan!! Anything that has filling is my best friend!!! There are so many different ideas on your web site i cant wait to try!
i love donuts
Love those donuts. My favorite would be the good old sprinkle donut from Time Hortons
I love Krispy Kreme donuts, but they don’t sell them here in cold Finland.. I could eat them every day. :)
omg, they look so good!
I also wanted to mention, my dad who recently passed away on March 17 from a sudden heart attack (he was only 66) loved the red velvet cake balls. I was planning on making the “green” ones for him for St. Patrick’s Day, but never got the chance. Your site, these past days has really helped make me smile. Easter is going to be hard on my family, but I know my dad would have liked me to make something special, so it just may be the Red Velvet Cake Balls. Thank you!
Favorite donut: Hands-down has to be a good old-fashioned sour cream cake donut. And LOVE the necklace!!!
Hopefully, this Easter I will be getting a dog from the Humane Society! I cant make my tongue into a clover shape – does that count as a talent!? HA! But what really matters is that I absolutely love your blog (the first time I made cake pops someone on the street tried to BUY THEM FROM ME!!!) and I would love that adorable doughnut necklace!
Necklace is absolutely adorable. I just had Beignets for the first time and it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever consumed !
I love love love the doughnut necklace!!!
Oh my gosh, that necklace is so cute. I don’t know if I’d keep it for myself or give it to my daughter (probably the latter); she has quite a sweettooth, and I think it would look very cute on her! :-)
I am so glad that you are doing well. May God bless you.
It seems I cannot resist anything with sprinkles!
I have to gag myself every time I brush my teeth… Aside from that random fact, I just made your Red Velvet Cake and my family LOVED it, thank you!!!
Sorry to hear you have been sick.
About me, I’m from Chile and I’m grateful my family is allright after the earthquake.
I am greatful for life, you see I was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and had another tumore removed just last year and thanks to God I can be with my daughters and grow up together. Plus I love donuts, chocolate and coffe so that “A” moca sounds like a winner to me.

Hi Bakerella,
I truly am glad your feeling better, when I look at your blog it makes me smile. I love seeing your new creations and have to admit i’m a tad bit jealous I didn’t think of it myself!!
I have so many things to be greatuful for in my life…and I need to learn to be ”more greatful” for them.
Thank you Bakerella for all the smiles you bring me!
I LOVE YOU!
Melanie
Right now I’m grateful for French Bulldog puppies! My friend just got one and at 8 weeks old is SO adorable. Nothing like a puppy snuggle to make your whole day right.
The necklace is adorable! I think I would love the oreo cookie donut – YUM!
Well, I was hooked the moment I saw doughnuts, and that coupled with Alice in Wonderland! Well i had to enter.
I am a Canadian girl and my favorite doughnut reflects that. It would have to be a Maple Dip. There is something about real Maple anything that just makes me feel like home. And the fact they are just never right any where but here.
Here to some Maple Luck
For Easter my husband and I are going to church in the morning then to my grandparent’s for an Easter dinner!
Chocolate iced do-nuts every time.
Here’s something about myself…
I’m so excited that you’re coming out with a cake pop book that I’ve pre-ordered it already!!
I love donuts so much!!!! This one has few calories too :)
I’m so very glad you’re doing better!
My favorite donut ever are the ones topped with chocolate icing and sprinkles. Mmm. I also LOVE boston cream donuts!
Why aren’t there donuts around when you need one?! Ack!
Oh my goodness…..that necklace is CUTE!
My boyfriend is the BEST…….probably at least once a weekend I ask him to go get us donuts and he ALWAYS does it. Love him! And for me, it is always chocolate. Double chocolate cake, chocolate frosted, chocolate long john, etc.
I’m waiting for my mom to come visit me…..and then she and I want to try the Pioneer Woman’s glazed donut recipe.
Anyway, great giveaway!
My best friend and I love donuts. I made her fuzzy donuts to hang from her rear view window for Christmas! And my favorite flavor is Boston Creme :)
This is the first Easter my fiance and I will be spending on our own. I’ll definitely be looking through your blog to find our desert for the day!
I LOVE that necklace! I am a huge Alice fan and have been trying so hard to avoid the Swarovski store for fear of buying everything they have. My birthday was saturday and my best friend gave me the Alice In Wonderland OPI Nail polish collection- I have Mas as a Hatter on my fingers and Off With Her Red on my toes. This necklace would go perfectly!
If I keep entering your give aways, eventually I will win right? Those doughnuts look like heaven!
Love the necklace. Would love some doughnuts now too!
I will be with my family at my parents for Easter
I can touch my nose with my tongue
Plain sugared doughnuts filled with vanilla custard are my faves, especially when they were made by my grandma!
I own 136 pairs of shoes and 27 pairs of boots (just call me Imelda!!)
I am glad you are home and feeling a bit better!
My guilty pleasure is eating Nutella by the spoonful right out of the jar…I can’t help myself!
I will be taking photos of my baby in a fun bunny hat and puff ball tail. He is going to hate me when he is older but for now it is just sooooo cute!
Those necklaces are quite cute ^^ and I can only imagine what a delicious surprise it was to bite into that mocha doughnut :D
Something about myself… well I think I’ve gotten to the point where I can call myself a concert addict. I’ve been to about 11 concerts in the past 3 years, all but two of them I’ve attended with my mother since we have similar taste in music. I’ve seen Bruce Springsteen (twice), Michael Buble (twice), Five for Fighting (twice), The Eagles, The Police, Todd Rundgren, Jason Mraz and Owl City. I already have two more coming up in April: Bon Jovi and Coheed & Cambria!
My favorite doughnut is the apple fritter! YUMMY! I remember going to the bakery early morning with my dad and getting one of these to share!! GREAT MEMORIES were shared with this simple doughnut!
I want a doughnut sooo bad now! We have a 24 hour bakery around here. Trust me a doughnut at 2 am after a night out tastes much better than in the morning!
Love the necklace!
Adorable necklace!! I accidentally made doughnuts out of a blend of white & multigrain flour last week. Definitely not a do-again!! Those doughnuts, on the other hand, look so delicious… I wish there was a store in CA so I could do my own taste-testing. ;)
I’m only 15 and my dream is to move to Georgia when I grow up! (Even though I’ve never been there before.) Seeing that “Sublime Doughnuts” are in Georgia excited me:) I just hope that one day I might actually get to go to Georgia and try these amazing doughnuts you’re talking about!
I made your easter cake pops a couple days ago, and gosh they were a lot of work, but worth it. They were so good and they came out very cute! But I’d have to say my favorite doughnut is a plain old chocolate glazed doughnut, they’re just so good!
Love your site!!
My favorite donut flavor is Boston Cream! I would love to win that pendant – super cute.
PS – Sorry to hear you were sick – I hope you’re feeling better!
i never though jewelry would make me so hungry…
In 40 days I will be graduating with a doctorate of pharmacy! I have spent the first 7 years of my 30’s in college to do it, and I hope my kids understand why it was important.
Thanks for all of the great delights, Bakerella, and thank you for getting the word out about organ donation. I try to make sure that I donate blood every 8 weeks. Unfortunately, due to my fibromyalgia, I’m unable to sign up to be a bone marrow donor, but I am happy that I get to help in this very important way!
so glad that you are feeling and doing better!!! today I started cutting back on sweets and then opened your blog to..DONUTS!! My favorite donut is the long john..totally plain huh….well when I was little my dad would get home at 3AM and we would pack up the car and drive to my grandma’s about 3 hours away. (we did this every other weekend) and on the way to her house, I would be asleep of course..I would be woken up so that we could stop at Dunkin Donuts so that I could pick out my favorite! (everytime) It’s a great memory!!
Oh my…gulp. I think i need a donut :-)
I’m a sucker for any kind of donut with creme and/or pudding inside it. Who thought up THAT glorious combination??
I love the necklace! My favorite doughnut is Boston creme. Yummy.
I loved plain old glazed ones!
food and fashion……that is what my computer memory is filled with^^ and this blog post just made my computers virtual stomach even fuller and satiated^.~
My daughter is fixing to lose her first tooth! I’m so excited!
Two things about me: 1) I like to bake (and eat my efforts) and 2) I like to rock climb. Even though they’re two very different activities, I feel as though they help balance my life. My climbing helps to keep the pounds from sticking from eating all the baked goodies, and baking is like climbing because it’s a slow and steady process, you can make adjustments along the way and when you’re done (end product or top of the mountain), you feel like you’re on top of the world! =) Happy early Easter! I’m glad you’re feeling better now, too!!
Glad to hear your feeling better! Chocolate doughnuts are my favorite.
Hi Bakerella! Hope you are feeling better!
That oreo donut looks so good! My favorite flavor is chocolate glazed and i’m so glad I don’t live near that donut shop.
Oh man I totally want a donut. A boston creme with chocolate frosting. Donuts rock. What else can you put frosting on and it’s still ok to eat for breakfast?
oh my! I LOVE your blog! I’m not an avid baker, but follow yours to look at the yummy pictures and daydream about the day I can do all this delicious baking!
My fave donuts are just plain ol’ maple donuts… have you ever had a TEXAS donut? LOVED them as a child.
Hope you are feeling better!
Love your blog and love, love, love doughnuts! My favorite flavor is bacon maple from Dynamo Doughnuts in SF. My friend’s band Last Train Home, even have a song called Doughnut Girl!

that pic make me smile =D
I would LOVE to win this! One year my friend and I dressed up as doughnuts for halloween!!
I have become a HUGE fan of your website. It makes me smile everytime I am on browsing past articles and such.
I also think its a kindred thing we share… Organ donation has been a big thing in my family and so the thing I am most grateful for is….
. My father had a double kidney transplant about 28 years ago and was told by the doctors that him and my mother should not try for more kids after the transplant and medication he was put on. Being cautious my parents did everything to not cause a baby but I eventually happened and the doctors told them to abort. My dad didn’t believe that was a choice and here I am today. Healthy and happy! My dad is amazing and has endured a lot. I am undoubtedly grateful of organ donors, as well as all those who get the chance to have a second chance to live without worry.
Thanks for bringing up your story so others may feel inspired to do something about organ donation.
Smiles. Chef Sare
This Easter I am probably packing up all my things, since I will soon be a graduate from the CIA, I came to the US to study baking and pastry arts, and now I am graduating with a Bachelors degree from the same school.
Even though here we learn to make all these fancy desserts and have everything be so perfect, I have the most fun looking at your website and wishing I could be making all these fun Pops… Can’t wait for your book to come out :)
Doughnuts aren’t really big over here, we can usually get jam, custard, or apple filled ones. Sometimes we can get chocolate and strawberry iced ones. To be honest though, I like the normal ones with just sugar. I think in America you call them Glazed donuts, or they are similar to that anyway.
Now I have a doughnut craving, damn!
