Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.
And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.
Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.
You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.
But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.
Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.
Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.
See.
No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.
Finally, I found you.
Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.
But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.
I ordered a dozen for myself.
Each one different.
Like this Smores doughnut.
This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.
And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.
I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.
Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.
As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.
Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.
And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.
And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.
Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.
Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.
If you’re not convinced, take a look at….
this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.
I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.
Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.
Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.
Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.
Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.
All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Your favorite doughnut flavor? Something you’re grateful for? What you’ll be doing this Easter? Some usual or unsusual talent you have? How many pair of shoes you own? Phobias? Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.
Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.
Good luck.
Wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. Reading your comments makes me laugh and sometimes makes me cry. But they always brighten my day. Thank you.
Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.
Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!
P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.
I love almost any kind of donut and love the necklace!
I love Easter because I can buy Robin Eggs in the stores. Candy shaped liked eggs is the best!
Today I am so grateful. I just got home from a vacation at Disney World with my husband and my kids. They are 9 and 13. (Well, my kids are lol) I was told by everyone that my kids would hate it, that they were past the age of loving it. Well, they weren’t. The wonder and excitement I saw in their eyes made me appreciate them so much. They make me feel like a kid again too. We had an amazing trip, the good (the magic) the bad (some bickering) and the ugly. (My feet and ankles HA!) I truly believe that you are never too old for fun, excitement, and some make believe magic :)
I will be at my Aunt Pat’s studiously NOT eating the ham balls she will be making! :)
I LOVE doughnut holes. Classic stand-by. And of course bear claws because the name is awesome.
There are just… no words for those donuts. Really — no words. So fantastic!
Easter will find me running around with basket in hand, eagerly elbowing out my (much) younger cousins in a quest to find the most eggs in our annual family Easter egg hunt. I may be 24 years old, but that doesn’t mean I don’t take these things seriously! (I totally do.)
I must confess, I am seething wtih jealousy over not being in Atlanta. Oh so many doughnuts calling my name!
That may also be the South Beach diet talking. Day 1, Phase 1. *SIGH*
Glad you are out of the hospital-I am an organ doner and am proud when I hear your story to be one : )
Hi there ~ Hooray feeling better! I’ve been fighting something myself for the past few weeks and it’s no fun — I’m so glad you are on the mend!! Doughnuts are so nostalgic for me — they remind me of Sunday mornings after church, stopping to buy a dozen at the local shop…mmmmm! They had a glazed+chocolate frosted+chocolate-chip one that was to. die. for. So, those and apple fritters are my favorites!
I love doughnuts – but not the kind from the chains, I love the mom & pop shops that don’t have a premade mix – so every day there is the possibility of a bit of difference from the day before *and* the possibility of trying some new flavor. I love the way the frosting isn’t perfect because it hasn’t been sprayed over a dozen at once and sometimes it can have a real flavor – like fresh strawberry or lemon. The only thing I don’t like about mom and pops is that they usually only stay open until the donuts tney made the for day are gone.
I just had a baby boy 6 days ago!
I love a plain old glazed donut that if freash out of the oven. I also really like the Rolo donut you can get at a local bakery in Red Deer ALberta. Yummy
Wow! The pink doughnut necklace looks so beautiful!! It makes me think of my favorite doughnuts which are strawberry doughnuts during Valentines Day. I could literally eat a dozen of them by myself!! My other favorite doughnut flavor is the maple square doughnuts from Dixie Cream Doughnuts (which I’m sad to say are no longer in business).
I love the necklace too cute!!! For easter my whole family (all 11 of us) is flying out to Az. from N.J. to see our grandparents I miss them so much and I think it is awesome my son gets to hang out with his great grandparents.
This Easter I am grateful to be going to my in-laws, I really lucked out with great in-laws. And… a guilty pleasure movie? Dirty Dancing!!! I loved Patrick Swazye, and I’m sad that he is gone.
I’m so glad you’re feeling better! I was in the hospital this past December having my gall bladder removed and while that’s nothing compared to your journey, it was definitely scary!
I love love love those twisted glazed doughnuts. Ohhh, buddy. It’s been a while since I’ve had one, which is for the best, but they’re my favs!
oh my gosh that p.b. cup one is calling my name!
Here’s something about me- my biggest phobia is talking on the phone-thank the Lord for text messaging =)
There is no such thing as too many donuts. That’s all I have to say about this!
Love going to donut shops other than the usual donut chain…love apple fritters and the cider donuts that they sell at the apple orchard we go to!!! Now I can’t wait to go apple picking again!!!
I turned on the computer and went to your blog, as I do very regularly (I guess you may call me a secret blog stalker) to see what new ideas of yours I would try to create. As I read your story of being ill, I clicked on the link to the earlier post that told your story of your kidneys. This hit very close to home and made me chuckle at the similarities between you and I. I have recently lost function of the kidneys and are soon to start dialysis. I have been a Diabetic for over 25 years and have a 17 month old daughter who is the joy of my world. Over the last 9 months or so as I have started this process I have used your website to help distract me from not feeling well or my reality and I have grown to adore baking these fun whimsical treats for others! To stop my babbling I just want ed to say Thanks….
Hope you are doing better!
Those look soooo yummy!!
And I LOVE the pink donut…Crossing my fingers!
I just recently moved to my boyfriend’s home town. On one of my tours around the area, we stopped at a bakery where I bought a huge gingerbread man shaped glazed doughnut! The shear size and cuteness of it meant I had to have it. And it was delicious!
I am very grateful for my boyfriend.
Guilty pleasures- licking the lid off a gallon of ice cream and eating a spoonful of cookie dough before cookies even make it in the oven!
To answer your questions …
Peanut.
Our home.
Having brunch with my family.
Decorating sugar cookies.
12 (rough estimate.)
Birds.
Watching Toddlers & Tiaras.
Recent accomplishment: getting kid #3 to use the potty!
I hope you’re feeling better! And that’s a supercute necklace. You did get one for yourself right? ^_^
Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I like the doughnuts made by Voodoo Doughnut in Portland, OR.
Thanks for offering this giveaway.
Boy those donuts look wonderful — I worked in a bakery during my junior year in high school. If the gloss is gone – the icing is old and most likely the baked good is — day old at least!
My favorite donut is the potato donut with chocolate glaze frosting. When I was a little girl, my Mom would make treats for after school and special occasions. Well sometimes when she was baking ahead for those special occasions, we would get some for our treat, and those were so crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and the glaze just made it all taste so yummy! My mom will be 80 this year, still bakes and cooks – we are blessed.

My favorite dought would be a cherry turnover. Mmm…love them! I of course love such a cute necklace also :)
You know, I don’t actually like doughnuts. Can’t believe I just admitted that. But this post makes them look scrumptious, and those necklaces are adorable!
About myself? I broke my leg in a horse riding accident when I was 9. I busted my front tooth loose the next year. I have avoided major injuries after that!
I love doughnuts! Whenever I drive any where near the Krispy Kreme I have to check if the hot light is on. I don’t always stop, but I have to know if they are currently serving hot doughnuts.
For Easter this year we are having a traditional passover dinner, just to shake things up a bit!
Also, my favorite doughnut I’ve ever had was an apple fritter that was half frosted with chocolate and half frosted with maple. Soooo good.
LOL I know it is ridiculous, but I don’t really like “real” donuts! I like the cheap, frosted ones from hostess!
I love Boston Cream Donuts..possibly because I’m from Boston?
Hey bakerella,
Just a little fyi but my bday is coming up next week!! hint hint! haha. This is so cute!!!
My guilty pleasure actually IS doughnuts!! after i eat one im usually feeling pretty guilty (as i reach for another one!). These ones look absolutely delicious!! Yum.
Good thing! I live around the Atlanta! So These sublime Doughnuts are going to get a new customer this weekend! (and a prettyful necklace wouldn’t be a bad touch either! ( :
My favorite doughnut is hands down a maple bar. But, I think if I had some of the doughnuts in this post I would be singing a different tune. They look out of this world! Glad you are feeling better.
I love cream-filled long johns and they are impossible to find in this state. I wonder if the governor outlawed them?
So glad you are feeling a little better. My mouth is absolutely watering after reading this post!
What a cute necklace!
Shoes…I only own 3 pairs of shoes right now (snow boots, workout shoes, and everyday shoes – pink and white airwalks)…and maybe there still exists a 4th elusive pair of dress shoes hidden somewhere…probably in my daughters dress up box.
My favorite doughnut is what most people consider boring, just a white doughnut with white frosting. Yum!
i had my 40th birthday yesterday and so i made cupcakes for work collegues, dairy free and nut free for the first time of making and they were yummy, or so i was told as i didnt get one!!
i am pleased you are feeling better
christine
so glad you’re feeling better! the necklace is adorable, thanks for the giveaway. i made cake balls for the first time last week and they were such a big hit! i was a little timid going into the process but can’t wait to make them again.
Last summer we took a trip to the Oregon Coast and I got my family lost in Portland for an hour so I could try a doughnut from Voodoo Doughnuts. My husband thought I was crazy. Love them!!!!!
OMG, I want that peanut butter doughnut! I am grateful for this post, b/c I wrote down the name of the bakery, and if I ever get to Atlanta, a dozen will be mine! :)
Vanilla Donuts with strawberry icing…. yummmyyy
This Easter I will be crying over the fact that I cannot eat any Cadbury Creme Eggs….lousy South Beach Diet!
Oh my…doughnuts like that from sublime and then an adorable necklace…mmmmmm
Love cinnamon rolls…yummy!! And the little pendant is adorable!!
How cute! I am glad you are feeling better.
We finally get to spend a holiday with family!! Our relatives are coming from the East Coast to spend Easter with us….and we all couldn’t be happier…especially the kids! With five of them, trips back east are few and far between, so we are elated that we get to reconnect!
BTW, SO glad to hear that you’re feeling better =o)
Oh wow. Those doughnuts look to DIE for. I just had my 4th baby (4 kids under 3 years old) a couple weeks ago and have been dieting ever since. Except, I breastfeed. Which makes me crave sweets. And all’s I’ve craved is doughnuts. But I satisfy my sweet tooth with a piece of dark chocolate instead, trying to be good. Now, I may start baking again, since I discovered your blog. Uh Oh….I’m in trouble.
I gave up dessert for Lent and after seeing this post, next week can’t come soon enough! :) I’m in GA, too, so someday I’ll have to make it to Sublime.
I wish we had a Sublime donut shop here in New Jersey.I would love to try the A donut or the toffee. It seems to me that in my area we don’t have any donut shops like Sublime we only have the chain shop donut stores(D.D.) I wish the donut shops that where family owned were still around. I remember as a kid my Dad going on Sunday morning to the donut shop a few blocks from my home to get fresh baked donuts. When I was a teenager I would go before school to get a donut. Boy what memories.
I am moving to Tallahassee this summer to be with my husband’s parents. Atlanta is so close! I will have to visit this doughnut shop :) Maybe it will help me deal with the heat.
Doughnuts are great, but I’ll take a pecan carmel roll any day.
Those donuts look delish! When I was little, I used to get Boston Creme donuts, rip them in half, and lick the cream out!
‘Glad to hear you’re feeling better! We’ll be having 22 for Easter lunch to celebrate the resurrection. And I’ll be making your sweet Easter basket cupcakes again this year. They were a huge hit last year. Thanks for the idea!
I have never wanted a donut so bad in my entire life. Those look AMAZING!
Something about myself…today was the first day back to school after spring break :P Blech! Cute necklace!
Oh boy… I love doughnuts. I have so many fond memories of doughnuts. When I was little, and first learning to ride a bike, my family and I would ride a few miles to get doughnuts from a nearby place. We would always get doughnuts on the way to church. It reminds me of Krispy Kreme fund raisers the dance team would do at my high school (bought a box of day olds for 3 bucks). It makes me think of the time a good friend and I made our own doughnuts and realized we had to eat as many as we could before they went stale… And more recently, a time when my best friend and I decided we needed doughnuts, looked up a place to go, and made sure to wake up early to go get some fresh ones. I also made biscuit doughnuts with a friend a few months ago, dipped in cinnamon sugar. Doughnuts just kind of make life better, I think. I wish I could try the ones you posted. They’re one of my favorite foods! Guess I’ll have to take a day this weekend and make some again.
P.S. This journal was hard to read, as I am starving right now and won’t have a chance to get food for five more hours. Curse you, Bakerella! Cuuurrrse yoooou!
Oh my. Those doughnuts look beyond amazing. So jealous.
I am scared of clowns. I know:)
I have never, ever had the flu:)
I usually like a plain old fashioned cake doughnut…but these, oh my! I want to gobble each and everyone of them up! Thank you for sharing :-)
I am so happy to hear you are feeling better! Donuts are one of my guilty pleasures…of course, I am 3 months pregnant and have many at the moment =) My favorite donut is a raspberry filled! YUM!
Staying w/ the theme of doughnuts, I remember when I was growing up, my mom always used to call them do-do’s (sounds like dough-doughs) — now, I can’t look at a doughnut w/out calling it a do-do! Thanks mom! :)
I should have eaten lunch before I read this post! It has made me soooo hungry. : ) This Easter, I am looking forward to being able to watch my 20 month old daughter hunt Easter eggs for the first time (she wasn’t walking and barely getting the hang of crawling this time last year). Very thankful for these times.
Glad you are back and hope you feel like baking real soon! This Easter, my 3 yr old son, 13 yr old step-daughter and myself will be decorating a bunny cake. They are so syked! I love donuts and I collect swarovski crystals so I hope this is my lucky day :-)
Those donuts look heavenly. I might have to make a trip to Georgia! Random fact: I am so excited to spend Easter with my mom!
I would give anything for a chocolate bar right now!
I hope that you’re feeling okay! So sorry to hear that you were in the hospital, that can’t be good, but glad you’re feeling better! And those doughnuts look absolutely divine, but I’m thinking the swarovski version has less calories and would be just the kind for me! Love it. Okay something unusual about me? Um not that much, how about something dumb I did this morning while doing laundry: I had my laundry cupboard open to get the detergent out, poured the detergent into the washing machine, and then put back the detergent and closed up the cupboard. Only I accidentally closed the cupboard right into my face, my nose to be exact and now I have a nice bump and bruise on my nose. How stupid can I get? Who knew laundry could be so dangerous!
mmmmmmmmmm I want some now, my favorite flavor is the classic glaze
Oh my.. that necklace is adorable!
This is going to be my sons first Easter. To make it extra special I’m going to throw him a little tea party in the park with some cakepops for the grownups!
Hello, I’m Ana and I’m obsessed with sweets. Does that count as an interesting information? :)
Congrats on the blog! And that necklace is SO cute! :)
I love my husband of 7 years and am thankful that our love is strong. Due to the economy, we have lived apart for the last 2 years and only get to see each other occassionaly. In fact, we have spent our last 3 anniversaries apart. It sucks, but what can we do??
For Easter this year, my hubby and I get to experience the Washington, D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival for the first time ever! O, I hope that they are blooming and not covered in sparkly little snowflakes!
Easter this year with the inlaws. I’m sure there will be lots of touching my belly – I’m 8 months pregnant. As usual, I will be bringing the cake, just haven’t quite made up my mind what it will be yet!
There isn’t a better way to have your sweets every day than by wearing a necklace…..I have been on WW for almost 3 months and have had to bake my treats for other people so that I don’t eat them ALL…but no one would be able to take this sweet necklace from me! LOL
Glad you are feeling better…missed your post
Those look so delicious! My favorite doughnut is the simple chocolate iced :) Yum!
For Easter I will be the Easter Bunny!!
I’ve never seen a star donut before, awesome! i love all filled donuts. and how it squeezes it out after you bite it. Then you get to lick it off your fingers. And savor it. Oh and the fluffy, airy bread… I’ll stop now.
I would wear that little guy every day! So cute!
Hope you feel better soon! My favorite kind of donut is a maple bar. But all those other flavors look fantastic!! I wish I was in Georgia so I could go there! :D
thanks for sharing your donuts, even if virtually! hope you make it to a full recovery soon!
I love your website! It makes me drool at work and it inspires me to bake. :)
yummm…jewelry..almost as good as doughnuts :):):)
I am thankful for sugar :) and chocolate:) oh and caramel. Toffee ranks up there too.
I am glad you are feeling better and I am also thankful that an angel came through for you in your time of need!
By the way I want that darned doughnut necklace :)
I have a blog about baking cupcakes, and recently, when I was researching recipes, I found a bakery that makes cupcakes and then decorates them with little donuts on the top. A little extravagant, yes. But also awesome!
serendipity!!
So glad to hear you are doing better! Prayers for continued healing are being sent your way!
Believe it or not, I am not that fond of doughnuts, but I wish I was, because most of them are so pretty looking, but the doughnut necklace is by far the prettiest!
Adorable! My husband’s family always does Easter together – Easter brunch this year w/ your cake pops of course!
My favorite donut flavor will always and forever be boston creme.
My favorite doughnut is the plain old glazed one, especially Krispy Kreme original glazed! You won’t believe what i’ll be doing this Easter weekend- dancing! My friends and I are going to perform at a cultural show on Friday and Saturday, so I guess I’ll be spending my Easter sunday resting at home!
Thanks for giving me a chance to win this cute necklace!
Love the necklace – it is adorable!! And those donuts look absolutely delicious :)
Something about me:
I’m only entering on the fleeting chance that I might win this for a little girl in my church who I think would enjoy it very much.
I’ve never commented before but I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better.
God bless.
Blueberry cake donuts are my favorite!
So sorry you’ve not been feeling well. Maybe it was that old doughnut you ate… =D I would LOVE that doughnut necklace, assuming my four-year-old daughter ever lets me wear it!
Favorite doughnut is a Boston Cream…and I’m glad you’re out of the hospital and (I hope) feeling more like yourself again. :)
Hello, I’m recuperating from surgery therefore I won’t be able to bake or cook this easter and now I want doughnuts!!!! I can’t drive so I’m “stuck” at home. Hopefully someone could bring me some doughnuts fast!!!! because I’m salivating….
Something about myself: I wish I lived in Atlanta so I could have one or ten of those donuts!
Sorry you have been sick Bakerella. My whole house has been sick on and off for a month. The latest is that I have pneumonia in both lungs, and my little 4 week old newborn is in the hospital for multiple infections and a ruptured eardrum. Let’s make a pact that we are all on the road to recovery! Oh, and I love donuts. I had one from the hospital cafeteria for breakfast in fact this morning!
Love the necklace!! The doughnuts look amazing. I wish we had a great place like that in the NW. I would probably chose the Mocha filled one.
Sitting here playing with my tummy! The baby is kicking up a storm! Even gave me a 1-2 punch! :):)
I’m afraid of cockroaches and as a Brasilian I encountered a lot of them. Ever since I moved to Germany my life turned easy, never hat to watch every corner of the bathroom for them, before I could be in peace, except for when I’m on vacation, visiting my family there, but then I know the encounters will be to a minimum. I’m so afraid that watching some scenes in MIB made me very nervous, although I love the movie.
And I love doughnuts as well.
I always loved maple donuts as a kid, but that butter toffee one looks like it’s to DIE for!!
I absolutely adore doughnuts, but I refuse to ever try to make my own because if I had that kind of doughnut-making power, I would fear for my waistline! :)
I would proudly sport that donut necklace all the time! Who doesn’t love doughnuts? There is a little place next to our favorite takeout pizza and my daughter and I always stop in for a sugary treat when we get pizza.
I’m Wee Granny to 5 beautiful babies, and love to bake for them. Max and Ella Grace, 1 yr. olds, would love to try to pull this off me. =)
I found your blog just recently, it’s delightful!
Well, I can say I’m very grateful for that (I tried a couple of recipes already, delicious) :)
I’m amazed by the photos by the way, so stunning.
For a necklace that cute, I’ll answer ’em all!
Something about myself: single mother of two daughters and one stepson – two teenagers and a seven-year0ol… yes, most days I’m barely sane.
Favorite doughnut flavor: old fashioned glazed… I know, I know, boring. But I like the heavier, cakey donuts versus the fluffy ones. And most donut makers don’t do much with the cake ones.
Something I’m grateful for: my kids. I always say they are keeping me going, even if it is to the madhouse!
Easter plans: Just decided this morning – co-hosting dinner on Sunday at my mother’s place! We usually end up with a few folks over, but even just the core fam alone will be about 10 people.
Some usual or unusual talent: wow… never really thought of myself as talented. I can read really fast… does that count? lol
Shoes count: not as fab as it used to be… probably 14 pairs, mostly sandals.
Phobia: just one…. MICE! Most rodents actually, but I do like hamsters, guinea pigs, etc… it’s the long tails I can’t take.
Favorite guilty pleasure: double chocolate Pop Tarts with a tall glass of milk.
Love that necklace!
I puffy heart crafty peeps. I love to see other’s creations.
I am just thankful to be able to spend another Easter holiday with my family. I love Spring when everything comes alive. It’s my favorite time of the year
EEEEEeeek! I’ll be in Atlanta on June 1&2 and I believe this shall be my breakfast location!! They all look DIVINE!!! And so does the necklace!
Those doughnuts look amazing. I would have to say the best doughnut I’ve had as been the honey dipped doughnut at TIm Hortons. My husband is from Michigan and so anytime we are up that way, it is pretty much a given that our car is stopping there!!!
This Easter I will be working; I sell cupcakes! When I’m not working i will be riding my new bike around the park :)
I love plain glazed donuts & raspberry filled donuts . now I want one.
looking at this necklace makes me want a doughnut so bad right now. i’ve got my eye on that s’mores one!
My favorite donut, hands down, has got to be an apple fritter…only because my grandpa introduced me to them!
I live in Portland Oregon. There’s a doughnut place called, Voodoo Doughnuts. They’ve got some crazy stuff but my fave is the maple bars with BACON on them! Seriously… sounds awful but tastes delicious!
Boston Cream!!!
Glad you are feeling better! Lovely necklaces too! Oh and those donuts look amazing. That is the one thing I can never pass up if they are around. My favorites are the ones that have any kind of maple flavor!
That oreo donut looks amazing!
Adorable donut necklace. I know a girl who loves charms and that is just something she’d love. And I love donuts. Cute idea :)
Oh, what I would do for one of those Sublime donuts right about now! I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant and I feel like the baby is screaming at me to find a good donut shop ASAP! ;-)
Love the necklace! Would love to win it.
I’m not doing anything special this Easter. Just spending some down time back home with my family. I’m excited to just relax!
I’m from Atlanta though and I’ve already GPSed my way to Sublime doughnuts and I’m going this Saturday! Hoorah! I’m so pumped to eat the A-town doughnut.
i have a lot of shoes….at least 50 pairs….
oooh. donuts. my guilty pleasure….
Today was the first day of my kids’ spring break and the first time at the zoo this season… also — the first time I took the baby to the zoo! And wouldn’t you know it — my camera’s battery died. The end.
i’m so happy to hear my favourite baker/blogger is out of the hospital. :)
i’m a huuuge sucker for smores, and am trying to concoct a recipe for a little baby smores doughnut in my head as we speak.
And for the pendant (it would probably go with my cupcake earrings pretty nicely), i’m an ex-flying trapeze artist. Will that help me win? i hope so.
:D
Welcome back! Happy to read you are feeling a little better. :) I can honestly say that I’ve never met a doughnut I didn’t like! Can’t pick a favorite. Something about me…humm…just learned how to needle felt & I’m in the process of filling the pottery bowl on my coffee table up with all of my new felted creations…easter eggs, polka dotted balls, ladybugs, even a fish!
No particular favorite donut, but those that are still warm, just made, and melts in your mouth….well.
I am grateful for the little miracles that let me know I am really alive..or is it really living…I am grateful for the little miracles that remind me I am blessed.
Favorite doughnut flavor would have to be Boston cream and I think I’ve gained 5 lbs looks at the delicious doughnuts in this post.
Those donuts look yummy. And so do the baked goods. ;)
Your post reminded me of the Caramel Apples that my husband & I discovered recently. They are baked by a Mother/daughter team and sold at a little booth in our mall. And they are luscious & to die for! My favorite is their White Chocolate Cinnamon & Sugar flavor – a caramel apple then rolled in Ghirardelli white chocolate & rolled in cinnamon & sugar – soo good!
I love krispie kreme donuts so much that my wonderful husband made me a tiered donut cake for my birthday!
mmmm glazed chocolate crumb
YUM! I’m thinking I need a dozen of those doughnuts to have a little party with myself too! :) Well, I probably don’t NEED them, but would be a fun treat!! Glad you are better…had been waiting for another post…was thrilled to see you back on today! God Bless!
I love bismarks!
I love the necklace! I’m a Wilton instructor and have a “winged cupcake” necklace from Etsy that I wear to teach. I get so many comments on it!
I do love doughnuts but as far as obessions go lately it has been cupcakes for me. And not those overpriced cupcake boutiques but making all those fun flavors myself!! My co-workers are in a happy, sugar induced coma and so far my favorite flavor has been the chocolate with salted carmel frosting – YUM!
I’m glad that you are on the mend!
My favorite doughnuts (I usually spell the word all the way out) are the lemon sticks at Donut King, a small mom & pop type doughnut shop around the corner from my house. They make their wares each night and I walk my dog by the shop and sniff exuberantly as I pass. So tasty (though no fun shapes).
I love doughnuts, either as jewelry or as a box full. I’ve never tried to make doughnuts, preferring to leave that to the professionsls, like the kids at Dunkin Donuts.
Sorry you’ve been sick–hope you’re doing better. I missed your posts. My favorite doughnut is a key lime doughnut of the month from Krispy Kreme, but I think I might change my mind if I ever got my hands on one of the mocha “A”s–incredible! Love the crystal doughnut–way cute!
I can’t WAIT to see the owl pops in your upcoming book! Owls are to die for, unless they are actually flapping their wings around me. I am wickedly afraid of all live birds.
So glad you’re feeling better! I’m planning to make some cupcake pops for Easter this year :) My 2 1/2 year old gets so excited when I make them. Well, she’s not the only one. Everyone gets excited when I make them! :)
OMG I tried them a few months ago when visiting a friend of mine out there. I think I too ate a dozen on my own. Soooooooo good. And those necklaces are adorable. Need to go check them out now. :)
I am happy you are feeling better! I’ve been missing your delicious posts!
I have more shoes then I care to count right now.. the hubby would not be impressed! But i am currently sitting at work, watching the thunder storm pass by hoping the power goes out, so i can go home!
Hmmm… I don’t know what my favorite donut flavor is, seeing as how I keep finding interesting recipes I want to try! But as for my Easter plans I’m planning on having a phone date with my girlfriend. She’s not with me this year, and It’s incredibly sad. I’m thinking about sending the necklace to her as an anniversary gift if I win it! :)
This is my first time trying for anything, and I wanted to thank you for giving us these wonderful opportunities! <3
Doughnuts are one of the best inventions in the world. Seriously fabulous. Once a friend bought me a dozen doughnuts for my birthday. I was in heaven. Those are some good looking doughnuts. YUM!
My name is Kristen, and my stomach has been audibly growling ever since I opened your post. I think it is time for my own donut party. Hehe.
Easter will be spent with my wonderful family. And it’s extra special this year because it will be my daughter’s first Easter. Happy Easter to All!
That is the cutest necklace. All doughnuts are GOOD!!
Oh….and my fave donut is bavarian cream filled…mmmm!
I love love love the necklace!!! Glad you are feeling better!
guilty pleasure: ice cream for breakfast. yummers.
I am proud to say that my ID lists me as an organ donor. And very glad that you’re feeling better! Hmm, I’d say my favorite doughnut are the ones rolled in coconut, but I have a feeling if I ever tried one of these Sublime doughnuts it would replace it in a heartbeat. (Like the peanut butter cup one…or the orange dream star…or the mocha cream…oh man my mouth is watering right now)
Oh how CUTE! I do believe I would wear that delicious necklace daily!
P.S. So glad you are feeling better!
I was wondering where you were! Sorry to hear you were sick, but glad you’re feeling better. For Easter I’m baking 4 cakes…a bachelorette cake, 2 biryhday cakes, and of course an Easter cake. Plus, it’ll be my first time using chocolate molds! What could be better than chocolate and doughnuts?!
i would so love to have a doughnut necklace. I’m the one in my group of friends that bakes. Last april i made chocolate cupcakes for a friend’s birthday. i set aside 2 just for him. one was laced with habenaro pepper sauce and the other i baked in a tbsp of cayenne pepper. I didn’t get to see him eat them, but from what i hear, he was rather thirsty after that first bite. it was payback for him unscrewing the lid to the hot pepper flakes at a pizza place.
Too cute – I don’t think I’ve ever seen a doughnut necklace before. But I’m sure it would be an easy piece to rock!
I have a nephew who at 2 went into liver failure and went on the donor list….out of nowhere. Thank God it’s a happy ending much like you and Savannah, but it was rough. Glad you’re feeling better. Your site brightens my day like a present on Christmas morning, never knowing what it might be. I have a goal of one day being able to create, experiment and be as talented as you. My kids are still young and I work f/t and time is hard to find, but I live through your ideas. THANK YOU and can’t wait for the book to be released!
Oh my, these doughnuts look fab.
I’m glad your feeling better, i was wondering what happened. Im here to tell you about my phobia..
When I was very small I found a butterfly stuck in the wipers of my mothers car. When I tried to remove it i pulled both it’s wings off :[
Now, 20 some odd years later I still have nightmares about being chased by butterflies. I can’t stand to see one..yuck. The last dream I had was probably less than a month ago and I was trapped in a Walmart and outside was a fenced in wall of butterflies. I couldnt leave! AHH terrible. Weird huh?
I love hot fresh Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts, but after seeing these, I’m thinking a girls trip to Atlanta is a must!
Fabulous!!! Uh, does the fact that I’m drooling over the doughnuts… including the necklace count as something about me??
Mmm, doughnuts. My fact about myself: I LOVE doughnuts! We have this cute little doughnut shop two minutes from our house. The people there are super nice, and they have really great doughnuts; no fancy-schmancy flavors, but REALLY great doughnuts. Last year, a Dunkin Doughnuts had the audacity to move just a couple buildings over. We have never gone to Dunkin, nor do we plan to. We support our cute little doughnut shop to the end! :D
I saw that same article & swore I was gonna get over to Atlanta for some doughnuts, but of course I haven’t yet. Maybe I’ll get ther one day soon.
My heart stopped when I read you were sick/in the hospital. Whew! I am SO happy you’re feeling better! Don’t scare me like that! I just cannot do without you!
I live in Krispy Kreme-land and love their hot, glazed. Your donut party looks like my kind of affair.
Stay well!
Janet
Wow! How cute and the doughnuts…delish! I can’t eat doughnuts (diabetic) but it would be great to have the next best thing!
I have a serious donut fetish also :P
Thanks so much for the giveaway, crossing my fingers! Happy Easter!
I love spudnuts-doughnuts made with potato flour. I had them growing up in Pampa, TX. I hope you will take care of yourself. We will wait for you!
This year, Greek Easter and Christian Easter fall on the same day, so I have to choose which celebration I wanted to participate in (I have Greek & non-Greek family). I’m pretty sure I’ll be celebrating Greek Easter this year (the Greek food is calling me…)
The necklace is so cute! My favorite doughnut is chocolate cream filled, yummy!
So glad you are feeling better. Oh my goodness those donuts look SO good!!! I would love to try them – now!!!! and that necklace is so cute, I would love one. Just another 2 things to add to my ‘must get / try’ list!
My favorite doughnuts are the glazed ones from Crispy Creme… but since I live in Atlanta I guess I need to try Sublime!!! For sure I need to try the A :-)
They all look really good! Which one was your favorite???
i am glad that i just ate. otherwise i would have drooled all over the keyboard.
no donuts here (i am rather glad about that).
Yummy, yummy – OMG do those donuts look scrumptious!
I love the volunteer work that I do for a FAB NYC non-profit – New York Cares – life altering, truly….
Hope you’re feeling better Bakerella….
Glad you are feeling better. Missed you much. My favorite guilty pleasure are almonds dipped in nutella. And krispy kreme original glaze as a close second.
I’m organizing a baby’s first birthday, so if you have any suggestions…
So glad your doing better! Missed ya! For Easter I will be hanging out with the family, trying to keep my little girl from eating too much candy! Would love the necklace!
I don’t know how many pairs of shoes I have, but in the process of cleaning out my closet, I discovered I have almost 50 purses! Honestly! Why does one person need that many purses?!?
I look at my daughter’s face every morning and feel overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. I am SO lucky she is mine! The hubby is alright too I guess. LOL, just kidding, he is incredible.
I’ll be thankful this Easter for all four of my grandchildren – 2 girls and 2 boys. But we’ll all be especially thankful for Mason, the last one born this past June. He mother (my daughter) was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 12 and has fought it ever since. She did everything perfect during her pregnancy but Mason surprised everyone when he was delivered 3 weeks early and weighed 10 pounds and 2 ounces. He was the biggest baby in the pediatric ICU at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. After two weeks and a day, he finally came home healthy.
Thanks for sharing your story. By the way, I love donuts!
i would LOVE to have sat and tried all those donuts with you. a peanut butter cup doughnut? are you for real? YUM.
I’m going thru your website picking out things i want to make for my wedding next month! Such cute ideas!!
Oh and I LOVE Boston Cream donuts!
I am currently dog sitting and everytime I sit down the dog drops his tennis ball in my lap and then looks at me waiting to pounce. :) Luckily he is a little terrrier mix, with so much energy you’d think he just ate that box of donuts. :)
You are so “sweet” to give away one of the adorable necklaces…I didn’t even know there was an Alice in Wonderland Collection but you can bet I will be looking it up now!!!
Guilty pleasure????…..Probably getting to have all three of the Grandbabies at my house at one time. My oldest and wife are fostering 7 month old Twins (one each….Nick and Niya) and they have blessed me last month with one of their own!(Jasen)……when we get to have all three at once………WOW…….It really can’t get sweeter than that!!!
always alice
……who has “always” been asked…….”How’s Wonderland???”
I just got engaged last week (YAY!) so I image I’ll be browsing wedding dresses online this weekend. :)
That is too cute!! Love it!! I like the chocolate doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. Something random about me is that I love manatees. They are so cute! Any ideas for making manatee themed sweets?
Wow, those donuts look amazing! I would love to try the Orange Star one. Voodoo donuts in Portland is awesome too, but I think they just got beat.
I can belly dance!
OMG!!! i wish i could try all those yummy doughnuts… but, i do believe my favourite will always be the jam doughnuts i´ve tasted in london…
cute necklace!!
Hmm… My guilty pleasure is mango mouse over vanilla cake… I only can get it from Mitsuwa NJ (Other side of NYC) Best Japanese cake ever.
This easter I am working :( Oh the life of a restaurant worker.
So glad you are doing better, Bakerella!
Those doughnuts do look good!
My kids like it when I make “doughnuts” with canned biscuits!
I too was just in the hospital. Am feeling better, but still recovering. It’s going to be a low key Easter for us this year.
I LOVED Alice in Wonderland and I LOVE jewerly. What a spectacular combination you’ve offered me! Hope to win!
Custard doughnuts are definantly the best :)
Can’t wait till easter, will attempt making some bunny themed ones… perhaps even put chocolate eggs into the
filling somehow!
Well, you made me laugh and and want to throw caution to with the wind and drive to Atlanta and get DONUTS!!!!!!!!!!! . According to the govt, as of Friday,. I no longer exist but I can at least “drool” over all the pictures! A happy for today.
This all makes me want to make homemade doughnuts!
Right now, I’m a plain, glazed doughnut kind of girl. Haven’t found any others yet that can sway me.
