Sublime

Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.

And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.

Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.

You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.

But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.

Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.

Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.

IMG_7649

See.

No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.

Finally, I found you.

IMG_7341

Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.

But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.

IMG_7345

I ordered a dozen for myself.

IMG_7366

Each one different.

IMG_7390

Like this Smores doughnut.

IMG_7410

This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.

IMG_7397

And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.

Untitled-1

I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.

Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.

Untitled-2

As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.

IMG_7429

Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.

IMG_7462

And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.

IMG_7479

And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.

IMG_7369

Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.

Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.

If you’re not convinced, take a look at….

IMG_7561

this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.

I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.

IMG_7583

Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.

Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.

IMG_7596

Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.

Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.

All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Your favorite doughnut flavor? Something you’re grateful for? What you’ll be doing this Easter? Some usual or unsusual talent you have? How many pair of shoes you own? Phobias? Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.

Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.

One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.

Good luck.

Wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. Reading your comments makes me laugh and sometimes makes me cry. But they always brighten my day. Thank you.

Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.

Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!

P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.

  1. My favourite flavour of doughnut is pineapple, but I find it so hard to find in the US!

  2. I just brought home my precious babygirl Cristina. She’s a preemie and had to stay in the NICU for almost 2 weeks. For this Easter I am very thankful for her. my family, friends and sites like yours that make me happy and inspired to create. As a matter of fact, I’m making some cake truffles to thank the Labor/Maternity/Nursery department for taking such good care of us!

  3. Yummy Doughnuts. I love the necklace!

  4. I hope you are feeling better! I’m lost without your posts ;)

Something random about myself: ever since watching Jurasic Park as a kid, I have had regularly occuring nightmares about velociraptors. Yes. It is silly.

Oh, and today is my first day of pastry school! YES!

  5. What a cute necklace! Hmm…my favourite donut is a classic glazed, you know how it just melts in your mouth?

  6. Please pick me! I made Elmo cupcakes for my son’s birthday yesterday, totally inspired by your cake pops. Thanks for always having wonderful ideas to copy!!!

  11. Boston Cream is my favorite donut flavor! Or glazed with sprinkles. Sometimes I get donuts instead of cake on my bday because I’m that big of a fan :)

  12. I’d been wondering where you were and am happy to hear you’re feeling better.

Something about me…I love to bake and am a graphic designer so I especially love your beautifully designed treats. However, I only tried to make cake pops once, last year at this time. I used strawberry cake mix and vanilla frosting. But, I was pregnant and the resulting smell and texture of the cake balls made me ill and I threw them all out without coating any of them in the tons of candy melt I’d bought! I’ll try again someday but maybe with a less sweet cake mix.

  13. i’m a sucker for a fresh cinnamon sugar doughnut from duck donuts in the outer banks!

  14. Wow! Those look fabulous! I love doughnuts! I wish I lived closer so I could try some of those!

  15. I am entering this so I can possibly give it to my wife. She would really like it.

My favorite doughnut is a custard filled chocolate iced.

  16. Way cute! And yummy for sure. I love your site, one day I will be able to make mine desserts look like yours.
    Cheers!

  17. Ha! Your doughnuts remind me of the song I used to sing my kids when they were in preschool….down around the corner…at the bakery shop…there 5 little doughnuts with sugar on the top……doughnuts are de-rish-ous!!

  18. OH MY! Bakerella, I read the transplant story (somehow I had missed it earlier) I got so emotional! I looked at my license to see if I had checked donor because honestly, I couldn’t remember… My license says “U” which I think must mean undecided? so I am headed right down to the DMV to change it to “donor” today! Thanks for the great blog… I thought you had not posted because you were working on your book, I am so glad you are feeling better. BTW my favorite donuts are glazed croissants from our local family owned grocery store.. they just melt in your mouth!

  19. A no calorie donut with bling? I can’t decide which is more adorable, the star shaped orange calorie fest one, or the cute necklace…

  20. My third and final daughter is leaving the nest for college this fall and I am already feeling the empty nest syndrome! I cry at almost anything at times lately. For example, my co-worker just told me that her oldest son gave her a hug and her eyes were at his chest (he is getting so tall) and that made me teary! LOL

  21. This Easter happens to fall on my birthday, so I will be psending it with my family and soon-to-be husband.

ps. i looovvveeeeeee apple fritters. i could eat them all day.. it’s ok though, cause there are apple bits in them so they are healthy ;)

  22. What a cute necklace! I’m a cake & cupcake freak. I have cupcake measuring spoons, cupcake jammies, cake earrings. I can make room for donuts too! Some of those looked a-mazing!

  23. This always surprises people when I reveal this about myself: I’ve never seen “The Wizard of Oz.” My Mom thought the munchkins were scary and never screened it for me or my siblings, and I’ve never sought out it since leaving home. But, I’m working on it…

  24. Well…

    1. Glad you are feeling better. Hope for a speedy recovery.
    2. MMMM… doughnuts. (Hubby and I spent all weekend talking about doughnuts… “Don’t eat my soul doughnut”) I am currently on a cruller / sour cream dougnut kick right now.
    3. I clicked over to look at the cost of this cute little necklace before I saw the giveaway.
    4. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
    5. Happy Easter Everyone!

  25. mmmm, I love Boston Cream Doughnuts!!

And I’m glad you’re feeling better!

  26. So glad you are feeling better! Take care and wishing you well.
    That necklace is incredible!!
As a kid I used to be able to get a plain cake like doughnut when I went to the bowling alley with my Great Aunt. They were so yummy! I know it sounds boring but that kind is my fave =)

  27. I love chocolate cake donuts!!!!
and in second place raspberry filled donuts.
    Thank you for the chance!

  28. I am glad you are feeling better!

And get to enjoy those delicious looking donuts. My fiance is a donut fiend so when we visit A-town, we’ll have to make a stop there!

  29. This Easter I will be spending with my good friend. Our husbands are deployed together so we will be going out to dinner and to the movies to see Alice and Wonderland finally. So excited.

  30. Come on, comment number 4 billion (or whatever my number is). For Easter, I will be jamming peanut butter cake in my mouth. With a side of bacon.

  31. This Easter I will make cake balls. Made some for the athletic booster club auction – wow!! so rich and wonderful. What do you get when you dip cake balls and two stick together and you have a14 year old son in the house? Heee heee – he walked around showing us and giggling! Makes me smile just thinking about my naughty son.

  32. My favorite doughnut will always be my mother’s Spud-nuts. Spud because they have potato flakes in them and that makes them tender and wonderful. Plain glazed and fresh from the frying pan every Halloween. it’s a tradition that’s so popular that she has to make about 8 dozen every year to hand out to friends and family as they come trick or treating.

  33. Wow, those look fantastic! I feel the need to run out and get them NOW

  34. Lifting you up in prayer…and while I’m at it, asking that God send someone to open up a shop like that in BIRMINGHAM, AL!!! :)

Happy to know you are all sprinkles and confetti now! ~H

  35. I can’t believe I’m in my twenties and still dyeing easter eggs! (And no…I don’t have any kids…) Love it!

  36. Glad to hear your transplant was successful. I donated a kidney to a friend 6 months ago. He’s constantly dealing with adjustments to his meds, but appears to get getting steadily better. Suspect we’re both older than you were when you were transplanted, but we are prayerfully hopeful.

I do enjoy your site. I love the kidney transplant ribbon pops. Just might have to attempt making them on our year anniversary. Hope I can do them with Spenda vs. sugar though as he is diabetic (the reason the kidney was needed). They would be so fun for an anniversary celebration.

Good luck to you and hope you’re back to 100% soon.

  37. Those donuts look absolutely delicious, especially the red velvet! The necklace is super adorable!

  38. I love hot fresh chocolate donuts from Donut Stop! They are the best I’ve tried so far. Maybe one day I’ll get to Atlanta and try one of these yummy looking donuts.

  39. I’m grateful for being adopted by parents that are amazingly supportive and have become my best friends. I am also now planning a trip to Atlanta for Sublime Doughnuts!

  40. I’m glad you are feeling better. I can see why you left the store with the necklaces! They are adorable. So are the cupcake ones on the site. :)

  41. For Easter I’m making doughnuts for my family! I’m using King Arthur Flour’s baked doughnut pans (the mini ones) and I plan to make the buttermilk doughnuts and the chocolate doughnuts. I’ll using the vanilla glaze, and easter sprinkles!

  42. Wow, I feel like I need to make a trip to Atlanta now just to taste these doughnuts! The Oreo Doughnut reminded me of the amazing oreo doughnut at Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR. Wow are there doughnuts delicious. But I think I’d have t go with Mocha, because coffee is definitely my guilty pleasure. I love it, but can’t have it often because it effects my body negatively. I think I’ll be dreaming of doughnuts all day!

  43. oh my… those donuts look SOOOO good. I have to stop looking at your site first thing in the morning. I’m hungry for the rest of the day after that!

  44. I just experienced Lola’s doughnuts in Seattle last weekend. Lola’s is a Tom Douglas restaurant and they have made-to-order little doughnut holes shaken in sugar and cinnamon served with vanilla mascarpone cream and a rhubarb berry compote. OH MY GOD. We got one order, took one bite and immediately ordered a second round.

  45. I have a serious fear of grass hoppers! People laugh when i tell them, but it is real. I hate them. I cant even look at them. I go very far out of my to avoid them. No one believes me, but I was attacked one day while I was walking down the street minding my own business. I have never been the same since:)

  46. I’m a plain jane I love the plain glazed doughnuts best. Happy Easter, and God bless.

  47. Oh man, so many flavors of donuts! I want to go there so bad now. I have to share with you the delicious donuts I had in Seattle. They were in Pikes Place Market and were just a small booth/stand and they were these tiny cake donuts. And normally I don’t really like cake donuts, I figure I might as well just eat cake. lol But these were SO good. They were super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They came covered in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar or iced with sprinkles. YUM!

  48. I love your website. My guilty pleasure is that I love reality law shows. Dog the Bounty Hunter is my fave, as well as ‘Cops’ and Lockdown. I cannot get enough of them.

  49. LOVE IT!!
    Butter Toffee doughnut and Swarovski!!

  50. Love It! And glad you are feeling better. Great post.

  51. I guess I’m going to have to make a special trip from Sandy Springs down to Midtown to check out these doughnuts. They look amazing.

  52. This Easter… my mother-in-law will be staying with us, and we’ll be uniting with my parents and siblings (who’ll meet her for the first time!) to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms in D.C. It’s such a brief, but beautiful time of year here! So thankful my family can meet my husband’s mother. She’s a wonderful lady and a joy to have as a mother-in-“love” as she calls it. :) Happy Easter!!

  53. My favorite doughnut is from Shipley’s donuts. Their original glazed donuts fresh are the best ever.

  54. Love chocolate covered donuts with vanilla cream filling and sugar cake donuts…takes me back to childhood when my mom would go pick up donuts from the Shipleys on the corner. yum!

  55. I am going to tell you my phobias as well as my guilty pleasure. I am telling you my phobias because it never fails to make people laugh when I do. I am absolutely terrified of Clowns, Chainsaws, and Mayonaisse/Sour Cream. Yup…that’s right…go ahead and laugh. And my guilty pleasure? Bath products from either Lush or Basin White. They are so amazing, and so much money…

  56. So cute! Hmmmmm, something about me…I like collecting Easter Egg-shaped Alabaster.

  57. Sometimes my mom calls me Donut because I love them so much. No joke.

Also, I got engaged on Friday night so I am on cloud nine :)

  58. I’m a sucker for a good ol’ maple bar. We have a place in town that stays open till 10pm! I prefer them at night with a big glass of milk. I freeze the glass first so my milk is super cold!

  66. i always have to have a blueberry cake donut, but the ones you got look REALLY yummy!

  67. When I was doing my student teaching, the school was down the street from a doughnut shop that made a different flavor of cake doughnuts every day. I loved the honey wheat, pumpkin, blueberry, and strawberry. I wish I still lived near there!

  68. I am 8 months preggo, and those donuts look so yummy!!! I was drooling over the red velvet one!!! I’m happy to hear you are doing better… Happy Easter

  69. I have a thing for doughnuts – orange frosted cake doughnuts to be exact. In CA, where I am from, they are easy to come by, but after 4 years in NJ, I learned they do not exist there. Horror! On their first visit to NJ, my wonderful in-laws carried a dozen orange doughnuts across country just for me! I am now back in CA, happily eating orange doughnuts.

  70. I love any kind of cake donuts. My favorite ones are probably ones with a maple glaze!!! YUMMY!!!!

  71. My doughnut story- actually spudnuts! We helped some neighbors harvest potatoes when I was young, they gave us all the potatoes we needed, as long as my mom would make spudnuts for them ! Farmer Lynn loved them!! And I would love that cute necklace!

  72. I’m so glad you’re feeling better! Doughnuts are getting as cute as cupcakes! lol My guilty pleasure….physical therapy! Seriously. I’m overweight and it’s killing me, and I want to die everynight, but I’m so enjoying it! It feels so good to be working those muscles that have been so lazy for the past several years. Weird? I know! lol
    Blessings!
    ~H

  73. I love BAKERELLA! :)~

  74. I’m jealous that I will not be able to try these donuts. I live in Toronto, Canada and there is nothing like this place. Just a tad jealous… actually alot jealous.

I hadn’t realized how easy these pop lollies were… nor did I think I would be interested in trying to make some… I’m on my way to the store today… need me some supplies.

I think your page is wonderful with some many cute ideas.

    Glad you are feeling better!!!

  75. just wanted to say that, after reading your & savannah’s stories, i am really grateful for all that i have and feel guilty for complaining about dumb things like having one too many freckles, or hair that frizzes up in humid weather.
    glad you’re feeling better.
i’d love to try the doughnut with the peanut butter cups, and the A-town mocha :)

  76. So glad you’re feeling better Bakerella. I really missed your post last week. I have been following you since seeing you on the Martha Stewart show 2 years ago.

I wish I could be as creative and motivated as you are each week. I would also love to have enough courage to start my own blog.

  80. I have a fear of spider crickets. I may or may not have freaked out about it and fainted once. Or three times.

I also have a phobia of not winning that adorable necklace!

  81. Those doughnuts look awesome…if only I were closer to Atlanta. Maybe I could order some online…afterall yours tasted delicious after how many days…I’ll have to look into this. We are trying to get pregnant, and I think I am now!!! We just want to make double sure before we spill the beans! Yay! So glad I got that off my shoulders.

  84. I loved the cinnamon sugar mini donuts we had at our local farmers market last weekend.

  85. 1st off, so glad you are doing much better and posting again!
So…that dulce de leche doughnut just burned into my brain because I’m a dulce de leche freak! I’ll eat it on anything and pretty much anything with it. I’m originally from Argentina and we have some of the most delicious dulce de leche you can imagine…churros with dulce de leche inside…yummm ..that’s what I’m craving right now! :)

  88. So glad to hear you’re out of the hospital and on the mend. I did wonder about the lack of posts last week.

I am seriously in love with Krispy Kreme donuts…which don’t exist anywhere in this giant city I live in. Whenever I visit my friend who lives right next to one, we have to go.

  89. I am so excited to be able to spend Easter with my family. I work weekends at our local children’s hospital and this is my first Easter off in 5 years….my youngest son’s entire life!

  90. So happy to hear you’re better! What an adorable necklace :-) I have two favorite types of donuts: Maple glazed and chocolate frosted. Yum-O!

  91. The best doughnut I ever had was one I tried when I was a kid. It had chocolate and peanut butter on it. It was the size of my head. Yummy!

  100. Soooo…

I’m posting here in order that the RNG gods may shine down upon me and allow me the fortune of winning this magnificent jeweled pastry for my one true love!

I have but a moment to share with you that were chocolate glazed donuts available to me 24/7, I may be an entirely different shaped person. On an completely unrelated note, I must say that if the ginger sauce found in Japanese hibachi restaurants were available to me in mass quantities, I truly believe I would bathe in it… :O

Think me strange if you will, my fellow commenters, but I urge you… forget the pancakes, forget the waffles, forget the cookies!… look, to the donut!! … the dooooonuuuuuuut….

    *cough*42*cough*

    … O_O

  101. I would love very much to eat an entire box of doughnut lovelies and not have the calories count.
Those pictures make me really want a doughnut now but its midnight):

  104. Those look yummy! Oh & I’m left-handed (to some that’s unusual)

  105. Call me crazy, but I’ve never understood the hype around Krispie Kreme. I think they’re donuts are too sweet. And hot donuts? Yuck! (I know.. I’m weird)

  106. Something about me: I’m still afraid of the dark. There’s got to be a light on somewhere or I can’t move. If I can see, I’m fine. If I can’t see, not good.

  107. Glad to hear you are back up and around. I am a chocolate any-kind of doughnut kind of person! And for the record, I have always wanted to conquer my fear of heights by jumping out of an airplane. I have plans to commemorate my 50th by doing just that.

  108. My favorite doughnut would have to be the classic chocolate with sprinkles. :) Though my sister and I have attempted to make doughnuts at home and they were pretty good with just powdered sugar. yumm

  109. My favorite donut would have to be the classic Krispie Kreme Original! Nothing is better than that!

I am thankful for my family! My hubby and three girls are amazing! Being hospitalized last year has given me new faith in God and how blessed I am to have this family!

Oh and I used to get panic attacks going into Walmart! LOL I know that place scares me! I heart Target!

  110. I’m so glad you are feeling better, you (and your blog) are so much fun and so creative. Thanks for sharing with us.

My favorite donut is just a good old simple glazed one. Although I do love a good chocolate covered one almost as well!

  121. Those doughnuts look delicious! Not good to look at when I’m starving this morning!

This Easter, I will be heading to Vegas for a fabulous vacation. Nothing says Easter like a trip to Sin City!!

  122. Oh Bakerella! Those doughnuts are beautiful & they look so delicious… they remind me of this small bakery down the street from my house & every Saturday morning, no matter what, the line is out the door! Love it.

I own about 100 pairs of shoes (last time I counted it was 93 but I’ve bought a few since then!)

Thanks for the wonderful post, Bakerella – we missed you!
    Dara

  123. Glad you are feeling better. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Donuts but I don’t eat them often. My favorite type of donut is anything with Chocolate!!!!!!!!! :-) Yum…. I think I may have to break down and get me a donut(s) today!

  124. I love your blog! I’ve been following you for several months now and have already made a few of your recipes!

I hope you get back to your old self soon!

  125. I ate 12 donuts in a 24 hour period my freshman year in college…. WOW. Bad news.
For Easter, I get to spend the whole day with my family which I am very thankful for!!
My favorite donut is a Krispy Creme chocolate covered kreme filled. YUM!
Love this post and that necklace! Thanks Bakerella!

  126. I am now thinking of Driving to GA to get a donut!!!
I love donuts- I think they are my absolute favorite sweet!! We have had a huge love/hate relationship through the years!!! Something we are doing for Easter is all gathering together at my sister’s house. It has been a bittersweet year for my family and times are tough. We are gathering one last time together in my sister’s house since the bank has foreclosed on it and they soon will be moving out and on to some other adventure.

  127. Wow! Too bad these dough nuts are on the other side of the country from me…they look great!!

  128. Cute necklace…I love a glazed old fashioned doughnut..but usually I will try most any kind!! Glad you are on the road to recovery!!

  129. Hi B! I adore that.

I have a purple butterfly from Swarovski. and fell in love with one which said Love Nature, but couldn’t afford it. :(

ANyway :D that oreo doughnut looks freaking yummy!! drool!

  130. I’m so sorry to hear that you were not well and I’m really happy to hear that you are on your way to being all better!

Those donuts look fantastic! Holy cow – I wouldn’t know where to start with a box of donuts like that!

My favorite is a lemon filled donut with powdered sugar coating but I usually just get a nice simple glazed donut.

  131. For Easter, we will be going to church and then visiting family.

  132. And definitely SUBLIME title is correct,
if he had something bigger would also be great.

    INFINITELY SUBLIME!

  133. I love doughnuts with strawberry icing! so yummy.
    I’m glad you’re feeling better. :)

  134. Never been much of a donuts girl, until I learned about eating them fresh.
    (Best Homer Simpson voice)

    Warm donuts…..

Surprise secret: Some of us never learned to ride a bike. I secretly worry about having to teach my still unborn future children. Also, I NEVER say “It’s like riding a bike” and cringe everytime I hear it. lol.

    yay!

  135. Glad your feeling better! And for the strange fact about myself… I sweat under my eyes when I eat apples…

  136. Donut jewelry makes me go nuts!!

  137. Delicious. That star shaped doughnut is absolutely adorable – but the oreo one… it makes my heart flutter.

  138. This Easter we will be rolling our beautifully decorated Easter eggs down a great big hill, watching them shatter as they go. It’s tradition and a very fun one at that. But most of all we will be enjoying family and the gift of life.

  139. It’s tiny and precious!!! I love itty bitty things, and I love donuts. How can I go wrong with that cutie necklace??? I can’t. I also can’t wait to try the donut recipe….we have been doing the whole biscuit dough thing for awhile, but I crave something more….thank you for this website!!!

  140. That necklace couldn’t be any cuter! I love doughnuts… now and then I like the decadent flavorful ones, but my favorites are always plain glazed and powdered jelly filled. Gotta love the classics.

  141. I am glad you are feeling better!!!

I love munchkins (donut holes) the best. All donuts are good, but those little guys remind me of my childhood. Lovely.

  142. Glad to hear you’re feeling better!

Darn it, this post makes me wish we had some doughnuts for breakfast! Especially a good ol’ chocolate frosted Long John or custard-filled Headlight.

  143. Oh, My goodness! Those Doughnuts look sooo divine! and that necklace…even more so. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

  144. yum, plain ol’ chocolate glazed…my childhood haunt was a place that is no more so I yearn for a chocolate glazed that matches Henderson Donuts…

  145. Wow!!!! It’s so CUTE!!! =^.^= and the donuts =P yomi, yomi!!!
I would like to learn how to make donuts, they are my favorite desserts, plus lemon bars that you prepare, I’ve done and my whole family loved it!

Many greetings and sweet God bless you always.

  146. After reading this email, I had to run right out and get a Boston Creme donut. I couldn’t take it! I couldn’t get donuts out of my mind. I even went as far as to go into work late and give in to my unrelenting craving! Much thanks, it was a great start for my Monday – and a nice celebration for my 7-month old sleeping thru the night for the first time last night! YAY!

Get well soon, I have battled a chronic illness all of my life, and know it takes so much more time and strength to recover. My thoughts are with you!

  147. I love this necklace…and donuts! I prefer the original chocolate flavor. Yum!

  148. Oh my gosh! Those doughnuts look amazing. My mouth is watering. I would probably eat them all…Not good for my waistline!

Thanks for the chance to win the alice in wonderland necklace!!

  149. I love me some good old fashioned cake doughnuts…they will always be my favorite…yum!

  150. how cute! I would love to wear this with my pink ice-cream cone necklace. For Easter I am…working. As usual. Life in a public hospital!

  151. Sure wish I lived in Georgia, would certainly love to try one of those delicious donuts.. Maybe a great road trip. Love reading your posts.

  152. Too cute! Those dough nuts are making me want to plan a trip to Atlanta right away!

  153. Hello Bakerella!
I hope you are feeling better today. I did not know that you had received a kidney transplant! What an amazing story and testament to others! Thank you for all that you do. I love to bake, even though I don’t get much time to do it, and just adore everything that you create! Your blog makes me smile every time I visit. Thank you for the great recipes, ideas, and creativity.

You have to sometime try my favorite donut, a vanilla long-john smothered in peanut butter!!! YUM!!!!!!!!! : )

  154. If you find my other comment, either one counts, right? I LOVE Boston cream doughnuts with chocolate frosting. YUM!

  155. My favorite doughnut would be anything with sprinkles. I know they don’t add any nutritional value (doughnuts are nutritional, right?), nor do they really taste like anything, but it’s the little bit of crunch they provide. Oh yeah, they make the doughnut pretty too! :)

    Glad you’re feeling better!

  156. Wow, those look delicious. Star shaped donuts? YUM! If they could make my favourite donut, the crueller, into a star I would never leave their store. Anyway, I just recently discovered your site and am now addicted. I am trying out your cake pops this weekend!

  157. This Easter my stepdad is going to dress up like a bunny and hop around for my 2 year old son. Never thought I’d see the day!

  158. I love chocolate and orange, wish someone would make that in a donut !! or even in a cake pop :)

  159. Mmmmm…doughnut!

  160. OMG, now I need another shot of insulin. We are glad to see you back, while I was recently recuperating from surgery, your blog was one of my life savers. Hoping you have a speedy recovery.

  161. I am really, really grateful for my awesome boyfriend and fantastic parents, who have taken really good care of me these past two weeks. I’ve been sick too! It’s not very fun, is it? But having someone to hug you and fetch your orange juice makes it better.

  162. Let’s just say it’s a good thing that there are no good doughnut shops near me. :o)

  163. I love my husband.

  164. Hiii.. I LOVE donuts! I even tried making them once at home. Didn’t work out though. (sigh…) I try my hand at various craft thingies but am happiest in the kitchen. And guess what? I’m from Sri Lanka and love your blog. :D

  165. Thank you for sharing your story with us… we are praising the Lord for your continued good health.

I’d love to give the doughnut necklace to my granddaughter (age 7) who just received her first easy-bake oven at Christmas time. Like her Grandma and her Great-Grandpa, she LOVES to bake! She’s such a girly-girl that I know she’d be “tickled pink” to receive it for her birthday next month.

Thank you again for sharing your love for baking with all of us!

  166. i love donuts!!!!
especially when they are fresh and when you bite into them, it melts in your mouth

this easter i am going to make easter cupcakes!!!!

  167. I’m trying to lose weight…I know, who isn’t. I’d like to lose at least 30, but I could stand to lose so much more!

  168. I love this blog so much and now I want a doughnut really bad!

  169. OMgosh! That is the cutest thing! I was looking all over for a doughnut charm to send to a little girl a few weeks ago. I wish I had seen those.

My favorite doughnut is Krispy Kreme. I would love to try one of those Sublime ones though. They look AWESOME!

Something about me….I am proud to say that I have made my wishes known for a long time that I want to be an organ donor. It’s not enough to just check your drivers license. Everyone…let your family and friends know. The physicians still have to ask the families permission. You want them to know what your wishes are. Glad you are feeling better Bakerella.

  170. i’m 5’3″,why dont “they” make cream filled doughnut holes?, greatful for God, Easter @ parents house 3hr drive with a 2 yr and a 2 month old…and a hubby, i’m an artist, shoes not sure guessing 8 diff pair, phobias..birds, guilty pleasure telling raunchy jokes to my hubby just to watch him laugh!

glad your feeling better. hope your okey dokey now!

  171. So glad you are feeling better! My 9 year old daughter would L_O_V_E that necklace! Since we are sharing things about ourselves, I have a wonderfull husband and a 13 year old son also, and live in the same state as Pioneer Woman.

  172. i love good donuts… But there are so many bad doughnuts. That A-town mocha one makes me want to get a plane ticket and head to atlanta… (or maybe the orange dream star…)

  173. Yum-o! I think I’ll make a trip to see a friend in ATL and get some doughnuts soon! I have 9 month old twin boys and we’ll be spending their first Easter enjoying our family.

  174. Love!! I love all donughts. I realy want one right now…

  175. Rainy days and Mondays always bring me down. Donuts, on the other hand, bring me up. Way up.

Good to have you back, Bakerella.

  176. I love doughnuts, my favorite is the flavor is moka and coconut, !! and dulce de leche inside!!!

  177. I’m just a plain donut girl. Just like when I walk in an ice cream shop with a bizillion flavors I walk out with vanilla. Just weird I guess.

  178. Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Because being sick is no fun, here’s a little laugh for you: I’m terrified of fish. Don’t swim in ponds, won’t go in the ocean, rivers freak me out. I have trouble going down to the children’s ward at the hospital I work in because they have a huge fish tank along one wall. It’s got a name: icthophobia- Maybe that means I’m not alone :)

  179. Always a cake doughnut. Chocolate frosting with mini chocolate chips. Yummy.

  180. If doughnuts and jewelry don’t make you feel better than I don’t know what will! Seriously though…feel better soon!

  181. Tomorrow, March 30, is my birthday! Not just any birthday, but my 30th birthday! So I’ll be 30 on the 30th. It’s a very big day for me :)
Oh, and that smores doughnut looks like one of the yummiest things I’ve ever seen!

  182. I’m grateful for having my own apartment (moved in two weeks ago!) in the small and ridiculously overpopulated university town where I live. Finally over a year of couch surfing and living out of a suitcase has ended!

  183. Whew! This is a LOT of comments! I think doughnuts are probably my favorite food ever. I seriously craved doughnut nearly every day when I was pregnant and only had the twice. *Sniff.

Don’t worry, I am slowly making up for it. :)

  184. Hi there-

I’m a rather new follower of Bakerella, but I love your blog! Everything you make is so amazing and wonderful. Thanks for sharing your story with us, it was so touching and amazing what you did for Savannah.

As for the necklace, it’s beautiful! I love it, and unfortunately I love doughnuts. I’d have to say my favorite is rather boring though. I’m a huge fan of cake doughnuts, plain cake with chocolate frosting.

    Have a great week!

  185. So glad you’re doing better! Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway! :-)

I’m thankful for my baby girl sitting on my lap and playing as I type this.

I’m also thankful for wonderful little sweets that exist in the world, like S’mores donuts!

  186. thankful for healthy children and familiy-sometimes you don’t realize what you truly have until it is almost gone.

  187. I need that oreo doughnut! it is calling my name!

  188. Those donuts look amazing!!

This Easter I am making petit fours with pound cake! So excited!

  189. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE strawberry frosted donuts! And there’s something about the ones with sprinkles on top, they just taste amazing!

  190. I am glad you’re feeling better :)

My favorite doughnut, aside from anything Krispy Kreme, would have to be Tiger Tails. Glazed or sugared, doesn’t matter. I love those Tiger Tails :D

  191. I’m sitting in Arizona right now staying in a giant house with the rest of my family. We’ve packed in my parents and brother, two aunts, one uncle, three cousins, and myself. We just woke up after Day 2 of celebrating my grandma’s 75th birthday. Day 3 has commenced. It would have been better with doughnuts.

  192. Those look ridiculously yummy. Atlanta isn’t far… I’m sensing a road trip!

My favorite doughnut is one they don’t make anymore! It was Dunkin Donuts strawberry cream filled. Those things were simply amazing. They still make vanilla and chocolate cream filled, but no strawberry.

    Adorable necklace!!

  193. Oh my! I’m so glad you’re feeling better :-D! I’m jealous I can’t try those doughnuts! For Easter, we are driving 5 hours NW to a small (small) town to go to my boyfriend’s family church! I’m so excited since he normally works weekends (retail) and I FINALLY get to the church they all got married in :).

  194. This Easter, I am going to spoil my 7 year old boy rotten! He is the love of my life and I couldn’t be more grateful. He is the sweetest little boy and my total sweet tooth. He LOVES the cake pops from this website!

  195. They look so yummo! Love the Detroit Hat – I’m a fan of them just for that :)

  196. Doughnuts, glorious! Such a cute necklace too, I love going into the swarovski store in our mall. Though it’s bad. So shiny.

Something about myself.. let’s see. A guilty pleasure of mine is ocassionally getting a spoonful of Hershey’s chocolate fudge sauce straight from the jar. Sometimes I just see it in the fridge and I must!

I also recently found a cupcake I fell in love with. Called a Pink Lady, it’s yellow cake with pink vanilla buttercream frosting, and a strawberry filling. Divine! It came from a little cupcake shop tucked away in Downtown Annapolis, and I want to make some of my own. However, I still live with my parents, and they don’t like fruity stuff in their sweets! I’ll have to make a batch of cupcakes and make maybe six of them into pink ladies for myself and the rest for my parents. Mmm!

  197. Wow, really cool doughnut shop! I think if we’re ever within 100 miles, I’ll be forced to stop in.

I am extremely grateful for my wife who supports me in all of my crazy ventures…and helps me look realistically at them when needed.

  198. This Easter, I am going to spoil my 7 year old boy rotten! He is the love of my life and I couldn’t be more grateful. He is the sweetest little boy and my total sweet tooth. He LOVES the cake pops from this website!

  199. I now must plan a verrrry long vacation, no, business trip….to Atlanta and stay at a hotel verrrry close to this shop…I may have to move in. Wow…thank you for the information, my newly forgotten diet and exercise program thank you.

  200. Mmm my favorite donut is a sour cream cake donut. :)
