Sublime

Today’s post was supposed to be something cute in time for Easter. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any baking this weekend or last. I’ve been sick and was in the hospital for a few days. Today is the first I’ve felt up to even getting on the computer. Thank you everyone that emailed wondering if I was ok. You don’t know how much that made me feel better. And I am better now. It just takes me a little longer to get over things.
Here’s why if you’re interested.

And, if you’re still looking for something bunny-related, then try this, this, this, this or this from previous years.

Now, luckily I still have last week’s post that never made its way live. It’s about doughnuts. Delicious decadent doughnuts.

You see, last year I was shooting some photos at a friend’s studio for the Cake Pops book coming out later this year. We started early in the morning and I hadn’t eaten yet. My friend offered me a doughnut. I was like yes. Perfect. When I opened the plain white box, there was only one doughnut left, curiously shaped like the letter A. An A doughnut? That’s kinda weird. Then he told me they were from the other day. Hmmmm. Do I want a who-knows-how-old doughnut? Yes. Yes. I did. I was hungry. So I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to try and revive it. And, oh my. Oh my! OH MY! It was the best doughnut I’ve ever put in my mouth. The plain glazed A-shaped doughnut was filled with the most delicious mocha filling. I about died. Before I could even finish I was asking my friend where they came from.

But, he didn’t know. GASP. Someone had brought them to the studio for another shoot. And no one there knew the name or where they came from. Noooooo.

Just my luck, but probably a good thing for my waist.

Then weeks later, I was flipping through some magazines and found this little feature.

IMG_7649

See.

No… not the cute owner. See the A doughnut on the left? It had to be the same place. Thank you for A-shaped doughnuts.

Finally, I found you.

IMG_7341

Sublime Doughnuts in Georgia. We were reunited briefly in January. The doughnuts made an appearance on the Sugar Coma tour I attended where I was able to taste a few.

But I wanted more. I wanted to try all their flavors. So, weeks later. Like a couple of weeks ago. I finally made my way to Sublime.

IMG_7345

I ordered a dozen for myself.

IMG_7366

Each one different.

IMG_7390

Like this Smores doughnut.

IMG_7410

This Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing.

IMG_7397

And this Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter.

Untitled-1

I had a doughnut party with myself and tasted them all.

Including this Caramel Apple Fritter, Red Velvet Cake and Dulce de Leche.

Untitled-2

As well as this A-town Cream and Peanut Butter Cup doughnut.

IMG_7429

Sublime has fab flavors and fun shapes like this Orange Dream Star. Delish.

IMG_7462

And this Oreo doughnut with cream filling. Help.

IMG_7479

And then there’s my old friend the A-Town Mocha. That’s A for Atlanta if you’re wondering. But I say A for Amazing.

IMG_7369

Now, I just need to visit again to try the other dozen flavors that didn’t make it in my mouth.

Can you see, I’m all about doughnuts right now.

If you’re not convinced, take a look at….

IMG_7561

this cute crystal-sprinkled pink doughnut necklace I found. Adorable, huh. It’s from the Alice in Wonderland collection at Swarovski.

I’ve never shopped at Swarovski until the other day. Cupcake Julie and I were at the mall and we peeked in.

IMG_7583

Five minutes later I walked out with this cream colored doughnut necklace wondering what had just happened.

Impulse buying can be dangerous, but I love it and I’m glad I snagged it. So glad, I went online a few days later and ordered another one (This limited edition pink one) to give away. It’s just too dang cute not to share.

IMG_7596

Want it? Come on. We can be dough nuts together.

Just leave a comment to this post on the site for a chance to win it.

All you have to do to be entered is to count the number of nuts on the Butter Toffee doughnut above. Just kidding. Let’s make this easy. Just tell me something about yourself. Favorite guilty pleasure. Surprise me.

Deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Time’s Up! Winner announced below.

One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.

Now it’s time to reveal the winner chosen at random.

Yay Mel! Isn’t it fun being right. Now your hubby can be reminded of it everytime he looks at this cute little doughnut necklace around your neck. Congrats!

P.S. Julia – you must share a photo of your full sleeve arm tatoo dedicated to Mary Poppins. Fascinating.

  1. I am a dough-nut too. Upon breaking up with a boyfriend one time, I went straight to the doughnut shop and bought a 1/2 dozen doughnuts to eat all by myself. Doughnuts are yummy and soft and comforting. I wish I could try the A mocha doughnut – it sounds delicious!

  2. OMG yes I want it! Love Alice in Wonderland! I had them on my b-day wish list and hubby didn’t get the hint.

Glad you are feeling better and can’t wait until you are back to making cue things :)

  3. Love baking but at over 6000 feet it gets a little dicey! I won’t let it stop me though:).

  4. Oh my… I cannot believe I’ve lived in GA for 5 years and not discovered this wonderful donut shop! I must google address and drive to donut heaven – immediately!

  5. What a pretty necklace!!

For Easter my family will be going to my mom’s for our annual Easter dinner and egg hunt. Here in Texas, the Bluebonnets are starting to bloom, so I look forward to the beautiful drive.

  6. My favorite doughnut is a glazed “hot doughnut now” from Krispy Kreme. Two of those with a glass of cold milk….yum. However, I’m going to make a beeline for Sublime the next time in Atlanta!

  8. I was ready to start counting nuts! LOL! I also bake and decorate stuff. Love your blog and the doughnuts look fantastic! Very decadent to buy a whole dozen just to taste them all. Who ate the rest after your one bite????

  9. I must confess….a glazed donut topped with bacon sounds mighty tasty! haha!

  10. We don’t celebrate Easter but we do Passover. We are attending a passover sedar this week and then I have to work on Easter Sunday…I am a florist. Happy Easter/Passover to you and yours.

  11. I’m thinking it’s GOOD that I didn’t know about that awesome doughnut shop while we were visiting Atlanta last year!! My favorite doughnut is maple… no, wait, blueberry… no, the kind with the icing inside… Oh, WHO am I kidding? I never met a doughnut I didn’t like! :)

  12. Oh, I have not had a donut in quite a while. Peanut butter topping with nuts sounds great! Yum. Your photos make me want to go out and buy some, but the thought of my bottom expanding says “No!”. Love the necklace! Thanks.

  13. If I were a donut, I’d be shaped like a happy face, glazed with whipped cream as my facial expression, and filled with fresh lemon curd! :) Yummy!!

  14. I am so craving one of these donuts right now! Atlanta is far away but I will be there in April. That’s for the lead. I’m ready for something new to try. Like the Berry Fritter.

  15. Oooh!! Pick me!!

  16. I like doughnuts too much. Fortunately, Husband has never been a huge doughnut fiend, so he doesn’t mind that I only make them once annually. We eat plenty on this day for the entire year!

  17. I have never wanted donuts more than I do right now! Oh my word those look amazing!
I am a cupcake freak at heart…but I could convert to adding donuts into the mix. I would love this necklace!

  25. The doughnut pedant is adorable. I would love to have one. I am looking forward to spring and gardening. I am glad you are feeling better.

  26. Uh…excuse me. Did you just mention a Peanut Butter Cup doughnut? Whoever invented that should be nominated for sainthood. For reals.

    Love the necklace!

  27. my husband and i just bought our FIRST HOUSE and are so excited!!! that necklace is adorable and it would be amazing if i won :) THNAKS

  28. The necklace is adorable! I was baking this weekend and made cake pops for the first time! I just found your website/blog and am now addicted – LOVE IT!!! and, I Love the cake pops! I also made some peanut butter explosion brownies which were to die for! I teach cake decorating and am really into all baked goods and have so many things I want to try. I love that necklace, I should really see about getting one – maybe I can put it on my birthday wish list! I am glad to hear you are well!

  29. Something I am greatful for and a doughnut memory. When I was little and we drove by a doughnut shop (krispy kreme) and it would have the “hot” sign on, my dad would ALWAYS make up an excuse to stop in to get the fresh ones. I just remember being there watching the doughnuts being made and then eating so many, SO fast as soon as they were purchased, I’d make myself sick. Such a fun, happy memory, that everytime I think of doughnuts, I think of those times when I was little.

This was definitely a mouth-watering blog!! YUM.

  30. OMG those donuts look amazing!!! And all the diff flavors! When I checked this thread last night there were 455 comments and now when I’m about to make my comment there are close to 3,000! Bakerella – I hope you feel better, by the number of comments made here I hope you can realize how much better you make all of us feel, and how much we appreciate you!

  31. I’m so glad you’re feeling better. At least better enough to post. I can’t read your story or Savannah’s right now. I’ll be bawling my eyes out at work. Just know you make a difference in a lot of people’s lives. I, for one, am so thankful you’re a part of my life, even if only on the ‘net. God bless you.

  32. I’m a total Georgia hater, but these make me think it’d be worth the trip :)

Fact: Baking may have saved my marriage. See, I was a newlywed moved 1,000 miles away from anything I ever knew with my husband for his graduate school, 2 weeks after getting married. Yikes! It sort of (completely) put me into a depression funk like I had never experienced before so we fought a lot lot lot. Then, I decided to find a hobby- and it has brought me and those who eat, much joy. It is like my “happy place” now, and I thin our marriage is sweeter because of it :) Oh, pun!

  33. Love the site and obsessed with making cakeballs (although I am having trouble with them, but each batch gets a little better…always taste great, don’t always look perfect though!) And for Easter I’m cooking for my family. Favorite donut is just glazed, I’m easy to please. And I love cute jewelry so I am loving that necklace : )

  34. Oooooo! I want to win.

I live in St. Louis, sometimes known for our Italian district The Hill, but occasionally known for our donut district just southwest from Clifton Heights to St. Louis Hills. My favorite donuts in the whole city, though, can be found at a vendor in Soulard Market. The mini fried beauties, best eaten hot from the bag, are cooked to order and doused in either cinnamon or powdered sugar. When we go as a family, we order a bag of each to share and “ooooo” and “ahhhh” to one another, before deciding which vendor’s cucumber and green tomato we will choose from the long lengths of stalls. Delish!

  35. I love my husband, my daughter, macarons and almost anything with passionfruit. I also will add that doughnut necklace!

  36. This Easter I will be dining at my Grandparents, it’s a tradition with my family :) I will also only be eating desserts as I gave them up for lent….I’m counting down the days!

  37. (I thought I had posted this here …. then it showed me that I had posted it under the mint brownies post 8-/ Our computer LOVES to jump around on us :-( It doesn’t know it’s being replaced SOON!!)
Hi :-D Glad you are out of the hospital!!! Isin’t it weird how extrodinarly wiped out you get from being in there for a couple of days? It’s like your whole body, from your brain to your toes, have just been zapped and depleted of every single ounce of gumption.
I chuckled when I read the part about guessing the number of nuts on the one type of doughnut. I attended a baby shower the other evening where one of the games was guess how many jelly beans were in the bottle. I was only three off!! :-) So I used the same guesstamation method, and am submitting an answer of 240.
I had an idea for you seeings how you were unable to do an Easter type of posting. You ought to hook up a Mr. Linky type of thing and have everybody link up an Easter goodie they’ve made – with a twist. They also need to send you a sample of it ;-p

  38. That Oreo donut looks like a dream! And that Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing, I mean come on…I am drooling! I am attempting to make pink donuts for my daughters 1st birthday..we’ll see how that goes!
Hope you feel better and thank you for this inspiring posts!

  39. Oooh. Now I’m hungry. I love a donut that’s ‘jam packed’. The necklaces are adorable. I prefer to wear my food in earrings and necklaces rather than around my hips and thighs. Thanks for the awesome website. Your photos are beautiful.

  40. I usually try to stay away from donuts but I love red velvet cake and that donut looked sooo good! Glad you are feeling better.

  41. I want ALL those doughnuts. But specifically peanut butter cup. And when asked my fav flavor, I realized, I am the biggest chocoholic ever. I mean EVER. It’s unhealthy. And I don’t care about candy or caramel or anything like that at all. So here’s the weird part. I dooooo not like chocolate doughnuts one bit, and my fav is maple :)

  42. I hope you feel better soon. Thanks so much for sharing your touching story. My favorite doughnut is blueberry cake, the fresher the better…..AND, I love anything with sparkles, like doughnut necklaces.

  43. Here is the 411 on little old me:
I am 29 years old . I have been performing as Magenta in the NYC Cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show for over 13 years. I love to cook and clean and aspire to one day be a professional 1950’s housewife. I collect vintage clothing. I have over 200 pairs of shoes. I have a Chihuahua named Beef and 2 cats named Sweeney and Elvis. I lived in Las Vegas for a year where I worked as a make up artist to a professional famous magician. I’m getting married next year to the love of my life. I change my hair color from jet black to fire engine red in constant rotation and have yet to go bald from it. People tell me I look like Kelly Osbourne, Ricki Lake, Carnie Wilson, Bettie Page and Dita Von Teese…..I dont see it. My eyes are so brown that they look red at times. I am a fully schooled and licensed professional make-up artist in both beauty and sfx make up. I used to date a semi famous singer and toured with him on the road for 2 years. I know more about Star Wars then most nerdy men do. I go to comic book conventions and dress in costumes all the time. I wear wigs at least once a week. I dont know how to drive. I love doughnuts, especially ones made of sparkly bits.

  44. I would like to try every flavor!

  45. that necklace = darling & delish. I personally have never found a boston cream donut that I didn’t like ;)

  46. I was wondering if you were OK! Hope you feel better very soon!!!

  47. I was just put on a jumbotron as the Alice lookalike for the new movie. I was mortified, but I think this is the perfect way for my boyfriend to make it up to me, seeing as he now calls me Alice all the time…

  48. The necklace is adorable! Something unusual about me…I was born in a fire station – first person in the state of Oklahoma – right there on the fireman’s dining room table.

  49. I am thankful and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter. So glad you are feeling better!

  50. What a sweet little necklace! A doughnut with no calories, how wonderful!

I’m pretty excited that, I think, my aunts and I have figured out the recipe for the cottage cheese dessert my grandma use to make every Easter. She has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t remember ever making it, and she doesn’t have any recipes written down. We’ll find out Sunday if we’ve cracked the case!

  51. I am so boring, I only really like plain glazed doughnuts. I think it’s my dislike of overtly sweet things, but I looooooooove baking.

I forgot Easter is so soon :O I probably won’t do anything, but it will give me an excuse to bake some test-run stuff for my upcoming anniversary. It will be 4 years on the 25th :3

  52. Oh, how cute is that little necklace. My fav donuts are just the old fashioned kind we used to make as a kid. You remember, just frying up a biscuit that Mom made a whole in with her thimble. Please tell me someone else out there did this as well. It is a great childhood memory for me.

  53. This Easter we’ll be travelling from Atlanta to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Some of our friends just had a new baby and we are so excited to meet her!

  54. We will be spending Easter at my parents house with my huge family. We will also have an Easter Egg hunt for my 16 nieces & nephews and my 2 kids. I am filling the eggs now, sigh. Lots of work but I love to see them run crazy thru the yard, happy Spring!

  55. Well I am very proud of myself and my “Club US” team for raising over 55k for the Ft. Lauderdale AIDS Walk. This was my first year walking, raised over $700, and finished the walk:)

  58. I’m glad you are well and out of the hospital!

My bday is on Easter Sunday so I have lots to celebrate then. :) Now what to bake….I’ll pick something delish from your site… choc chip brownies…yummy cookies, cake, what shall it be? :) Always delish no matter what I pick. Now it’s time to venture out and get a donut…however i doubt they will be as good as those above. They look delish!

  59. I love plain cake doughnuts. They remind me of my youth.

  60. My favorite donut is a donut with white icing and sprinkles. That is such an adorable necklace.

  61. Oh my goodness, my mouth is watering from this post. I need a doughnut NOW! Peanut butter cup, Oreo, red velvet, mocha… no wonder you had to order a whole dozen!

  62. Those doughnuts look sooooo yummy! I wish I had that Peanut Butter Cup one for my fiance and that Oreo one for me! And something to tell you about me….well, I’m very exicited that I am getting married in October of this year. I found the perfect guy and I can’t wait to be his wife.

  63. So glad you are home and getting better!!! And thank you for sharing your story with us! Those donut necklaces are adorable and if I don’t win one here I may be checking them out online anyways – those are too adorable for words!!!

  64. Oreo doughnut with cream filling? Get out of TOWN!

  65. Those donuts looks amazing – good thing I live far, far away! This Easter we are spending time with my husband’s family…..then sneaking off to a concert just the two of us! :)

  66. Glad you’re feeling better!

My favorite doughnut is a plain doughnut with a raspberry glaze. Yum!

  67. I love that there is a whole post about donuts! Oneof my favorite memories as a child, is sitting in my grandparent’s kitchen, while my grandma made donuts. Before donut holes were “fashionable” we ate them while she made the proper ones. Such happy memories!

  68. Sweeeeeeeet!!! That necklace is soooo adorable!! Pick me random generator! :)

  69. Boston Creme donuts are my favorite….Mmmmmmmmm

  70. Do I want an an adorable doughnut necklace? Yes! Do I want a real doughnut or six to eat right now? Yes!

I hope you are feeling significantly better. We’ve missed you!

  71. As far as doughnut flavors… I am also a plain Jane and like french cruellers from DD… oh and sourcream donuts….

I am VERY thankful for my family. For my toddler with whom I can’t keep up and my amazing husband. I am also greatful to God for giving me all that I have including them.

  72. My all time, go to, favorite doughnut is Boston Creme. I am a sucker for them! I LOVE the doughnut necklace!

  73. My name is Erin, and my brain is fried from studying too much this weekend. This necklace would look fantastic with my fried brain.

  74. love love LOVE that necklace!

My husband and i have a weakness for Krispie Kreme “hot now” donuts from one of the first krispie kreme’s, which is dangerously only a about a mile from our house.
We also LOVE some dunkin donuts blueberry cake donuts: we have munchkins at our wedding!

For Easter we will be going to our church Vintage 21 and going to eat lunch with family!

  75. We just found out that I’m going to have a baby! How’s that for a surprise?!

  76. I can’t think of anything much except it is my daughters 19th birthdya today. I am amazed and a bit distraught about this fact. She is an awesome, happy and good girl. I love her and look up to her!! Happy Birthday Jesika!!!

  77. I miss donuts. Ever since I have gone gluten free I haven’t been able to have one. I have been hunting for a good GF donut recipe but haven’t brought myself around to actually trying it. What if it doesn’t taste like a real donut? But seeing this post may have convinced me to give it another try. And a donut necklace — maybe to show the world that just because I am GF doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy my pastries, with style :)

  78. I definitely love any blueberry doughnut I can get my hands on.

  79. Something about me…hmm…oh yes, I have a penchant for trying new things but not following up! Last week was cupcakes. I bought fondant, piping bags, a bunch of tips, frosting dye, and a brand new offset spatula. Past craft-related affairs include scrapbooking (not enough space in my house for all the accessories!), knitting (too hard with a cat who likes to play with the yarn), calligraphy (too hard without direction), and beading (see knitting and add a toddler)!

  80. Those doughnuts look amazing! I might have to plan a trip to visit my brother who lives outside Atlanta. It’s mighty hard to beat a Krisy Kreme glazed doughnut when it’s hot and fresh. That neon sign gets me every time. Thanks for doing the giveaway!

  81. I have such a weakness for donuts…why is this place not closer to California!!? There is a place in Westwood called Stan’s Donuts that has some pretty good ones…peanut butter banana! Yummy.

  82. Love the necklace. I never met a donut I didn’t like! My favorite are Stan’s donuts in Westwood. When you are in LA, give them a try!

  83. I love the little necklace. I don’t eat donut very often, but do like them very much. I hope you are feeling better. I was wondering if something was wrong last week. I’ll go back now and read your link. Take care of yourself.

  84. Glad you are back! I missed you! :)

I absolutely love that necklace. I have a confession. I am in LOVE with doughnuts. I literally ate an entire box in one day while I was home sick one time. It was horrible and magical all at the same time. :)

  85. that necklace is so cute!

Something about me… I’m currently in my second year of university studying graphic design

  86. My guilty pleasure is reading the Bakerella Blog and loving EVERYTHING that you post! I am one of those people who get stuck in the kitchen section when I go shopping lol. I guess I’m what people would call a “Foodie”, even though the term irks me! haha! Just wanting to say keep doing what you do, I love it!

  87. I’ll be celebrating my first Easter with my baby boy – now six months old and the most precious thing ever to hit planet earth. Not that I’m biased. Easter Sunday involves a 7:30 sunrise service, then ginormous church breakfast, then Sunday School then regular church. That doughnut necklace would be the perfect accessorie to my Easter outfit! Too cute!

  88. Cute! Thank you!

  89. Glad you are feeling better.
This year I am spending easter with those I love! I am making a ham and all the fixings and some of the chick and lamb pops I found on your site (THANK YOU)!!

  91. OMG…why didn’t you contact me???? I would have more than happy to assist you in the taste test…LOLOL What a fabulous selection! Reminds me of a cupcake shop here in Chicago that has umteen flavors of cupcakes and frostings. Unfortunatley, I’ve been deprogrammed to forget the name and address of the place….~(8^ P)

  104. Something neat about me…I’ll graduate & get my masters in a couple weeks (woot!) first person in my family to go to college. And….I think a maple bacon bar sounds good.

  105. We’re going to Martha’s Vineyard for Easter!

  106. WOW! Those look sooo good! Unfortunately I’m working on losing some weight : ( Booo! Oh well! Maybe I could enjoy a super cute donut neckless!?! Eh?

  107. What a great necklace. I absolutely LOVE it. Here is a little about me, I have both a shoe closet and a seperate purse closet. Now, I am no imdlda Marcos – but I had some closet space in these out of the way closets and took them over for my shoes and purses. I love them both!

  108. Guilty pleasure-I ate one of the last bunny cake balls after the kids went to school and now there is an uneven amount left for them! I’m a bad mom:) Mmmmm…candy corn ears..

  109. I LOVE donuts. Probably my ultimate favorite food. I have to admit, I probably have one a week. My favorite is bavarian cream. Of course, the worst one for you!

  110. That Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup donut looks amazing. Since I live in Atlanta I will be making my way down to mid town to try them out!

  111. Such a cute necklace! While I have had a lot of donuts (more than I care to think about), I always come back to a plain cake donut with a fresh cup of hot coffee. Though I would really like to try that Butter Toffee with Caramel Chocolate Icing donut.

  112. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH Cutest necklace ever!!!! If i dont win im going to buy one ahaha… this easter I’m going to attempt to make greek honey cookies! I Predict its going to be a mess! but worth it!!!

  113. I was waiting for your new post. I’m so glad that you’re feeling better. I saw that necklace from Swarovski website other day (I don’t have swarovski store nearby) and thought…. I want to get that one for myself who is prenant with a fourth child (hoping this time a girl!! yes, I have wonderful 3 boys :) I love cinnamon sugar doughnut the best but I also like blueberry doughnut, too.

  114. I love, love, love chocolate covered cream filled dougunuts. I despise chocolate covered custard filled doughnuts. So many places just don’t know the difference, and it just makes me want to cry when I get a custard doughnut and not a cream doughnut.

  115. The necklaces are so cute! Glad to see you’re back in the blogging world!

My favourite donut would have to be Tim Horton’s Maple Dip. YUM!

  116. I love the necklace!!! There are 137 large nuts on the doughnut above :-)

My favorite doughnut = the one I’m eating at the time..really how could I pick a favorite they are all GREAT!

So sorry to hear you were sick, I’m a long time reader, 1st time poster. I’m proud to say I am an organ donor and I hope many more take the step to become one.

    (( hugs ))

  117. I love me a good ‘ol glazed doughnut with chocolate on top!

  118. Well, lets see…something to tell: I.m going a cruise! Can’t wait, never been. It’s been a rough year, need to get away.

  119. I’m going to have a quiet easter… which will be wonderful. Do some baking and spring cleaning. And I love Swarovski!

  120. Ok, so I was on a HUGE HUGE HUGE doughnut kick when I was pregnant! I loved everything from Maple Peanut Cremes to Bearclaws! Actually, these days my favorite thing to get at the doughnut shop is a Creme Horn. Nothing like light pastery wrapped around an uber yummy creme filling! **drools** I hope I get that gorgeous necklace! Eeeep!

  121. oh golly. Well, I guess I’ll be boring and just tell you my favorite flavor of doughnut! It would have to be… (drum roll please) Apple Cider Doughnuts! But only from my local orchard. They’re so thick and moist and delicious! They’re the kind of thing you can only have one of (trust me) but they are well worth it!!!!!

  122. I am currently obsessed with cleaning house and am throwing away pretty much every decoration I’ve ever owned and starting from scratch!!! It is exhilarating and scary and wonderful all at the same time!

  123. Donuts have to be the ultimate sweet treat!
and that necklace is just delish looking!

  124. I loooooove reading about your Atlanta-area discoveries! I know that I’m grateful for your living in the Atlanta area – but most of all for your recovery, Bakerella!!!!

  125. 63 + 6? Oh, you were joking. Haha. ;)

My favourite doughnut flavour is just a distant memory. I think it was possibly a supermarket brand, but it had pink icing and it was amazing. I have been looking out for something similar in Krispy Kreme but nothing. I’ve not been able to find it for literally years. I usually go with the chocolate with sprinkes when I go to Krispy Kreme.

I’m grateful for the whisk I borrowed from my Nan this weekend. I think I’ll have to ask for one for my 21st, haha. This Easter I’ll be going to Ireland, my Dad’s family live there so basically we’ll be visiting the family we rarely see. I don’t have unusual talents, but my boyfriend can make his tongue into a clover. Weirdest, shape, ever. Errm, 2 heels. 2 Birkenstock sandals, 1 All Stars and 1 pair of work shoes. Spiders, ew, ew, ew. I’m going to have to over come it because I’m hopefully going to be a veterinary nurse and on the course they let you hold tarantulas to get used to them. Oh my God. I tried making macaroons on Friday night. I didn’t have caster sugar so I used granulated. The surprise? After eating 70g of sugar I still have all my teeth. Haha. :)

  126. Nice to know that you feel goog now… i miss you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….. XOXO

  127. Those little doughnuts are TOO CUTE! Hrm, what to divulge for you?

For Easter, we’re having my parents up for brunch, which will be eggs and pancakes (Read: CHEAP). My mother will probably bring goodies for Babies First Easter because she is a grandmother and Just. Cant. RESIST.

  128. Those look amazing!

My favorite donut is one that I found at a small bakery back home. It was a peanut butter and jelly donut. The frosting was peanut butter and the filling was grape jelly. Amazing! But hard to come by. The man that owned the shop would only make one batch of each flavor, open at 4am and close down for the day when they were gone. =[

  129. Wow. I had no idea you are a kidney transplant recipient. I’m glad you’re out of the hospital now and hope you feel much better soon! My favorite doughnut flavor is a simple chocolaet glaze.

  130. WOW!!!! Those doughnuts look amazing!!! I would have to try one of each.

  131. Thankful you are feeling better! My mom was on dialysis for 5 years, and had a kidney transplant 12 years ago…so I know what you are talking about. Rest up…we love you too much!

And…I know there are tres leches doughouts out there…sadly I haven’t tried one yet. But I will!

  132. donuts…yummy…especially dense, moist sour cream ones.

  133. I don’t see these donuts everywhere, although I think it’s a common donut. I don’t know what they’re called… but it’s the light and airy donuts with the chocolate glaze. It tastes light, like a cream puff, without the cream. Yum.

  134. I am thankful for my daughter. She makes me happy to be alive everyday… even Mondays. :)

  135. Wow! Those all look delicious! I hope you’re feeling better! My favorite doughnut is pretty much any kind of doughnut! I don’t think I’ve ever met a doughnut I didn’t like :-)

  136. Before moving away from Birmingham, where Krispy Kreme’s were fresh and easy to come by, my fav flavor was lemon filled. After Living in Tupelo, MS and Memphis, TN where there are no fresh Krispy Kreme’s I find myself in love with coconut covered donuts!!

  137. Wow, I love bavarian creme filled donuts. But maybe just because I never knew there were so many options. The choc peanut butter and oreo looked divine. Yummy!

  138. The doughnuts look so yummy!!!! I really like the necklace :)

  139. Love love love that necklace.

  140. Gosh those donuts look absolutely delicious. I haven’t had a donut in forever–but here in Athens Krispy Kreme chocolate glaze is my absolute FAVORITE!!!

  141. How can you go wrong with a good ole chocolate iced donut?! Easter will be spent with family and friends. Amen

  142. I love your site so much and this is the first time I’m entering one of your contests.

Thanks for having such a great blog

  143. maple glazed… yum!

  144. OH MY how will I get thru the day now with out doughnuts???

  145. My favorite donut flavor is Boston Cream – from an unlikely source – a chain store in Canada called Tim Hortons! I live in the US now, but often dream and crave the fresh boston cream donuts from Timmies. I actually love this donut as much as cupcakes!!!

  146. Wow those doughnuts are making me hungry for breakfast. Something random? My four-year-old is obsessed with sea creatures and has convinced his aunt to knit him a nautilus.

  147. Guilty pleasure: REAL potato chips (not baked) and french onion dip (not with low fat sour cream!) Both of which I know better than to ever start eating, because I can’t control myself.

  148. Oh my gosh, a doughnut shop named after my favorite band… my favorite treat meets my favorite music.. it’s almost too much!

  149. I love a nice chocolate donut. Not just any regular chocolate donut, but one that has glaze and then dipped in chocolate…Yummy! It’s so nice to hear from you again we all missed you!

  150. My favorite donut was a strawberry shortcake. It had strawberry filling and white creme filling together. So good!!

  151. Your story this week is soo touching! I instantly ran to my license to make sure i was an organ donor! Thanks for being such and inspirationi!

  152. Me being from Canada i love beaver tails or funnel cakes. delicious but you usually find them in Fair season. But i do love an old fashioned glazed donut with a hint of lemon. I have always wanted to go to Georgia.. its my dream. Just seems like i whole lot of good eating.

  153. These doughnuts look and sound amazing!!

  154. those donuts all look amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! wow! I want to have a donut party! My favorite donut is boston cream. But I think after I try sublime donuts that will change….

  155. Donuts! Donuts! I love some donuts, my favorite is the Boston Creme, because I just love that filling. Thanks so much for doing your give-aways! I will be going camping for the easter holiday, time with family is the best! I love your site, it is awesome and has such great ideas and recipes!

  156. I love doughnuts, actually anything sweet, and those doughnuts look amazing. My favorite doughnuts would be just a chocolate glaze on top or chocolate doughnut. I have gone gluten free but I am hoing to get some doughnuts form babycakes in NYC. The necklace is also so cute.

  157. Love the necklace! I guess something odd about me has to do with a phobia. I have to sleep with a light on at night because I am claustrophobic and being in complete darkness makes me go crazy! Like sick, panic attack crazy!

  158. My favorite dought by far is a tigers tail. A glazed twisted doughnut with chocolate inbetween the twist. Awesome.
I’m thankful the life that I’m living.

  159. So, after coming back to your blog so many times, I finally subscribed! Over 2500 comments already..wow! I’m crossing my fingers coz that is just tooo adorable.

Oh, and my fave donuts are the pretty plain ones: sugar glazed, sugar, and old fashioned :)

  160. Glad you’re feeling better! Chocolate dipped donuts are my favorite, but I think that mocha one might be in the running if I had a chance to taste it!

  161. Favorite donut—chocolate w/chocolate icing!

  162. First of all, I hope you’re feeling well!!

Oh my those donuts… my best friend lives in Atlanta! She’s meeting us in Hilton Head for vacation in two weeks… I think I may ask her to make a detour for me!

And that necklace is adorable – I took my daughter to see Alice this weekend; cute flick!

  163. I love doughnuts too, but I would especially like to win this necklace for a more sentimental reason.

I grew up eating strawberry frosted doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts. Imagine my surprise when one morning last fall, I found my Saturday morning’s strawberry frosted doughnut being devoured by my young Ragdoll kitten, Jasper. It was pretty darn funny to find a carnivore eating my sweet treat.

He died of FIP just 3 months later (for those of you who don’t know, FIP has no cure and primarily affects kittens because their immune system isn’t strong yet). So, that simple memory stands out in my mind as one of my favorite memories of him, and I can’t think of a better way to carry his memory with me everyday than this lovely necklace.

If I don’t win, I will have to purchase one for myself anyway :)

  164. Donuts and kidneys….I’m grateful for both! I worked for the NKF for 8 years and saw first-hand the importance of organ and tissue donation. It’s the most important gift one can give.

And donuts…I mean, really…they are just perfection.

Glad you’re feeling better, Bakerella. Your fans miss you when you’re gone!

  165. Ever since I’ve come across this super fun site..I have to tell you..my two girls (ages 13 & 8 yrs) say I’m the funnest Mom ever. What could be better than THAT??
We’ve tried plenty of your recipes and always have so much fun! Thank you! I enjoy your photography as well..Big sqooshy hugs from all of us to you!

  166. Oh, that necklace is SO cute! Love it!!!
Let’s see…something interesting about me?? Um…I am currently in love with a dozen doughnuts on m computer screen even though I just weighed myself and saw that I lost weight this week! Argh! I guess if I win the necklace that will have to satisy my cravings, right? Man, it’s a good thing I don’t live in Atlanta!

  167. Hi Bakerella, I’m so glad you are starting to feel better. I am pregnant and spent the whole weekend crying because I’m not craving any kinds of foods, I’m craving jewelry and shoes and a food craving would be so much easier to satisfy since we are pretty much broke! Food we can get, but buying earrings and shoes everyday would just be ridiculous (though Heavenly)

  168. Mmmm doughnuts! I’m a sprinkles gal myself.

  169. That is so cute. And those doughnuts look DELICIOUS!!!!
I tried to make some homemade doughnuts before but they didn’t turn out too great :( Oh well…it was fun trying! lol.
And lets see…something about me…I absolutely LOVE ice cream!!!! It is like the best thing ever created! Especially Cookies and cream!

  170. I mastered the pumpkin roll cake this weekend.

  171. I’m glad you are feeling better. I’ve missed you. I have to say, I am grateful for my health and the good health of my children and husband. They make me smile everyday! Take care of yourself.

  172. I never wear matching socks. They always have a coordinating theme, but they are never a “matching” pair. I’ve done this since I was about 10, and still do it now (at 30!) It makes me smile, and it makes others giggle. Especially at the gym!

  173. Now you have me craving donuts!!! I tried your Easter cakepops last year. They were a hit! Glad you’re out of the hospital!!

  174. I love donuts and I’m crazy to think I can win against 2,000 other people lol!

  175. Dear Bakerella,

I have been watching and waiting for a new post from you and hoping you didn’t forget about us – your fans who love to see all of your creative ideas! What would we do without our weekly dose of Bakerellas no calorie eye candy to bring a smile to our faces?

I am glad you are feeling better! Have a great week and as for me, I love all things little. I have miniature horses and miniature goats (pygmy) and so your cake pops are perfect for my eye appetite! Did I mention that I adore the little donut necklace! Cute and little – what’s better than that?

My sister gave me a mini loaf pan (a converted cupcale pan that makes 12 tiny loaves). I made the most beautiful little loaves of banana bread. They were about 2″ by 1″ and are a perfect replica of the full loaf. I took some around to friends (too cute not to share!) The “ooooos” and “how cutes” were worth all the work.

I hope you are able to get some rest and feel better soon and your faithful fans will be watching for more additions to your glorious eye buffet! Thank you : )

  176. Oooh my favorite donuts are chocolate custard fillled, have been since I was a kid. I’m so grateful for those little things & my hubby & kids:)

  177. hmmm… something about me, I love to cook I cant eat half of the stuff I make so I bake and then take the goodies to church to give away, I love your site because I learned to make cake balls(a new favorite at my church) I made the green ones for St. patty’s day with white chocolate and green chocolate swirls over the top, Everyone loved them, thanks so much for your wonderful site:)

  178. I would really want to try the Orange Dream Star doughnut! It looks so good. I have my first paying customer, she wanted me to make cake pops for her Easter party.
Those necklaces are way too cute!!

  179. Trying to come up with a legitimate excuse to go to Atlanta to get some of these donuts…my husband is going on business soon…maybe I can sneak into his carry on…

    Hope you’re feeling better!

  180. I would love to try the oreo with the cream filling but I’m normally an old-fashioned sour cream glazed donut girl.

    Super cute necklace!

  181. I’m spending Easter with my friends Kelly & Michelle. I’m excited!

  182. I have been tempted to try that crazy donut from “voodoo donuts” in portland oregon… with bacon and maple icing!!! Since I am in the other side of the states i’d settle for that beautiful necklace!

  183. ignore the last one… this is the real entry

–I like steamed broccli with ketchup on it

  184. Adorable necklace and scrumptous doughnuts! I can almost taste all of the sugar. Why did I have to read your post before breakfast!! I am in bliss just looking at them let alone eating them. Lucky you! Glad to hear you are A-Okay.

  185. Hope you’re feeling better..missed your posts…those donuts look fabulous…guess where my next web stop is going to be? I made your Easter pops last year with my girlfriend…everyone loved them and they looked so cute in an Easter pail with styrofoam and grass! Thanks for sharing your sweet obsession!

  186. Love the necklace and donuts as well! I love donuts for my memories of my Dad picking them up before or after church! It was especially nice during Easter cause more times than not we had given something up for lent and could splurge a little after Easter! I love chocolate cake with a clear glaze or jelly filled with the sugar coating! YUM!

  187. I will be hosting my first Easter which is also my Mom’s birthday. So much to do this week, but so looking forward to all of the yummy desserts I have planned. My kids are so excited!

  188. i like broccli with ketchup

  189. My favorite bakery is the Busy Bee in Downer’s Grove, IL: http://www.ingramsbusybee.com/ My favorite donut is a plain cake donut with chocolate frosting, but my favorite thing at this bakery is the kolachys! Delicious!

  190. My favorite doughnut is boston creme. Just can’t go wrong. Those necklaces are super cute!

  191. This Easter, I’ll be home with my dog and my boyfriend combining each of our family’s Easter dinner traditions (which will most likely result in far too much food for two people to ever eat). The best part? Dessert and LOTS of leftovers! Thanks for having such a great giveaway!

  192. I love all kinds of donuts. But my favorite is probably a simple glazed.

  193. I’m traveling to Florida this Easter to throw my best friend a bridal shower and there will be some cake pops on the menu! :)

  194. I love getting my girls doughnuts with sprinkles because I remember how happy it made me when my dad would take me out for a doughnut when I was a kid.

  195. my favorite cake? red velvet–hands down.
now that I know there are red velvet donuts out there?! I’m on the hunt!

  196. I love any donut. Might just have to stop by this place on my way north this summer. Hope you feel better soon!

  197. The donut pictures remind me of something I did as a little kid. My grandma would occasionally buy a box of donuts and I would sneak a bite of every one. It’s funny now, but probably wasn’t when all my Dad wanted was the read the paper and chow down on a donut on Sunday morning!

  198. My favorite donut is a chocolate cake donut with chocolate glaze on top. I love to bake and love your blog! You are so inspirational and I can’t wait for your book to hit the shelves!!!

  199. Those seriously look like the yummiest donuts ever! I love lemon filled donuts…by they do not love my waistline! Something about the fruit part of it makes me think they are better for me than they really are:)
