Stuffs

IMG_6193

Earlier this year I posted a cute candy button display that my friend Julie made following a tutorial on a website called Bake it Pretty. And even though I had heard of and seen their site, I had not really looked around it all that much… until recently.

**Warning… enter their site at your own risk or else you might just leave it with a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t know you had to have…

IMG_6274

… like these superty-duperty cute baking cups.

They sell lots of fun designs you probably won’t find in your local craft or grocery store…

IMG_6277

… unless you can read this.

IMG_6278

or know where to find these.

IMG_6253

If you visit them, you might be tempted by shiny things.

IMG_6207

Or these. I was forced to buy them in several colors…

IMG_6255

… and sizes.

The website made me do it. I promise. I mean if I just bought one color, which one?

Red? Of course, but what about black? How often do you come across black gingham print baking cups? Or orange? Or blue?

You know… I didn’t even need any more baking cups. Like for the next couple of years … I’m good.

IMG_6214

But, then there’s these. I mean how cute can you get?

It’s funny – right before I found them I was wanting to make some popcorn bucket cupcakes, but figured I would have to make my own wrappers because I knew I would never find any with stripes. So instead I made these flat brownie popcorn bags. Then, right after making them, voila – perfect little cups.

And now, I can’t bring myself to even bake in them. They’re so cute I don’t want to be without them. I just want to look at them. Is that weird?

Don’t answer that.

IMG_6280

And the cute little poem doesn’t hurt either.

IMG_6235

More baking cups. These, like the striped ones stand up on their own. You can place them right on a baking sheet and go.

However, I haven’t used these yet either. I have a problem.

IMG_6263

I worked my way through all the sections of the site and couldn’t leave without having these tapes and twine in my life.

IMG_6238

And look at these cute little twist ties in pink, purple and tiny hearts.

Adorable.

But they don’t hold a candle to these…

IMG_6240

Dying over here. Plus, they’re kinda perfect for packaging cake pops.

IMG_6224

You can even make your drinks look cute. Love these straws.

If you want to see them in action, check out how good they look with Tartelette’s ice cream sandwiches. Not that her pictures aren’t already perfection.

IMG_6286

And look, a button mold.

I had to have one of these, too. You know – just in case I ever want to make my own candy button display like this one.

IMG_6288

P.S. – I may or may not have also purchased these not exactly kid friendly candies. But, if I did – the website made me do that, too.

Want to pick out your own stuff?

Want me to foot the bill?

Okay, you talked me into it.

My husband says I spend way too much on baking supplies of all sorts (I told him he was crazy of course). But with the baby shower approaching, anything that screams baby I’ve been buckling for.

  12. I have a ridiculous addiction to spices and fancy condiments. Vinegars, oils…salts…spices. I cannot stop stocking on these wildly exotic and flavourful things.

I NEED A SALT STONE IN MY LIFE, don’t judge. :)

But – tops are those Dad’s day mustache decorations, all the cupcake holders (particularly the fancy holiday ones) and the tea cup silicone cake mold. Throw in some of the tea time cupcake papers!

  29. Fleurs de lis. Whether its the Francophile in me or just the fact that I loved living in New Orleans and rooting for the Saints, I just adore the fleur de lis motif anywhere, any time. Whether its a cupcake topper or a pendant, stationery or bath towels, slap a lily of France on there and I’ll hand over the cash!

  32. Anything cute. Cute cupcakes, cute jewelry, cute clothes, cute notebooks..etc. =^^=

  33. Sewing supplies
I walk into a fabric store and somewhere between the fabrics, patterns, matching buttons, appliques, ribbons, and trims, my mind wonders off into visions of cuteness for my 2 year old’s wardrobe.
    Really…..I think I need help!

  34. I’ve purchased things from Bake It Pretty in the past… lots of irrisistable things! The most recent thing we HAD to have… a tiny gnome candle for my soon to be 13 yr old son’s birthday cake. He will want to set him on fire, I won’t!

What I can’t stop buying are lipsticks, jewelry, & cupcakes!
So many cupcakes out there to taste!

  55. H&M clothings (but only H&M, somehow) and cheap eBay stuff. We don’t really have a good flea market anywhere near, and so eBay is my flea market.
I don’t spend more than $1~5 on an item, but I buy A LOT of items at the same time. I even have several post-its on my desk so that I won’t forget any items I’ve ordered… :D

  56. Pens. Specifically Pilot Precise V5 pens. In black, dark blue, light blue, lavender, red, and green. If there are more colors out there, I have yet to find them.

It’s really a strange addiction. I could spend hours in the pen aisle. Let me rephrase, I have spent hours looking at pens. The way they roll around the paper, how they feel in your hand, the colors, the sizes – bliss.

Unfortunately looking at things like baking products also has a similar influence. I have yet to let myself really go yet but think it’s only a matter of time. And the unfortunately is really only for my bank account.

  57. I am a sucker for buying make up with pretty packaging. MAC Cosmetics launches “limited edition” make up lines every few months. I was just at the local cake decorating store and they didn’t have anything as cute as this stuff, but that didn’t stop me from buying cute polka-dot cupcake papers to give to a friend. I really can’t think of anything that I can’t resist buying, but if I had to choose maybe it would be clothing for my little girl. Baby girl clothes are the cutest thing on earth, it is a good thing I shop at the used clothing store :)

  64. Crafts stuff and clothes for the kids!

  65. whenever I look at pictures of bakery stuff – I can’t really say what I need and what not. I really love them all.

  73. OMG these are totally adorable – heading to the website now – I have so got to have some of these for my baking sessions with my grand-girl!!! Going to send the link to my sister who is a big time baker, she’s gonna love it!!! Would love to win the gift certificate to buy even more . . .

Jesus, I’m addicted to the stuff.
In all sorts of colours and various sizes.

I have a cute, blue, bento style tupperware pot and I’m in love with it.

  87. Aw, I love Bake it Pretty!! I had to have the mustache candy molds from there!

  88. I can’t resist buying fabric even though I haven’t sewn since September. I keep thinking one day I’ll start again… Springform pans are another weakness. I think I have seven or eight of them.

  89. I love LOVE love!!!!! Win or not~ I’m going to have some of those goodies!! ;)

  103. Oh man, the drinking straws are to die for!!

i can’t stop buying origami paper! I’m getting married in september, and we’re having origami flowers instead of real ones. It’s turning into an addiction!!

  104. This is going to be one of my favorite websites of all times! I’ll never be able to buy those boring baking cups.

  115. Oh those are tooo cute! I buy too much stationary, notebooks and pens in particular.

  116. I found your site because a friend had posted up pictures of her cake pops just 2 days ago. That same day (Friday the 23rd) I made up cake pops for my coworkers birthday. ^^ I stayed up after 1am just to get it done.

I always have cake mixes & frosting with me, and thankfully I had half a bag of white chocolate candy melts and of course tons of sprinkles. :) It was totally fun, though for some reason my pops were either not solid enough or it was too soft because the stick kept sliding all the way through. I ended up letting it dry on the rack and poking the skewer in (didn’t have pop sticks).

Anyways, I have real trouble overspending on:
felt, thread, cookie cutters, polymer clay and tools, beads, sprinkles (can’t have enough!) and paper crafting implements like decorative scissors, stickers, stamps etc etc etc.

  117. I love Bake It Pretty!!! The website is amazing. Lately, I’ve been buying a lot of candles and greeting cards. :)

  118. I loooove the cupcake cups!

For me, I’m impulsive about buying books. I buy them far faster than I read them. I tried limiting myself to used bookstores to save money, but then I found myself needing to buy bookcases.

  119. I can’t resist miniatures. I love anything tiny. The more realistic, the better! And I love things with hearts on them. Thanks for all your wonderful posts! ?

  122. Sweet, sour, soft, hard, chewy, crunchy….doesn’t matter which kinds…Mmmm, can never have enough of candies!

  123. I can’t stop myself from chocolate chip cookies from Govinda’s vegetarian cuisine. These cookies are big, chewy, and healthy! I never feel guilty eating them… even when I eat three in a day.

  124. I can’t stop myself from buying flour, sugar, fresh berries… Anything I’m going to bake my next “thing” with!

  125. wow, it:s a bakers paradise is it not?!
those things all have me dreaming, and thinking about all of the things i should not be making because i will eat all of it, but hey! that:s just the price i pay!
and i:m going to be starting a baking class in japan – a let:s bake in english sort of thing – and i need really fun colorful wrappers and packaging for everyone to take their goodies home in!

  126. Recently, I can’t stop buying strawberries! They are fresh in season, and so yummy! But now that I have taken a look at the Bake it Pretty site, I’m going to have trouble staying away! I love the pearlized sugars and pearls. So fun!

  127. Well I just about wanted everything.
Especially the cupcake liners those just about had me ready to splurge money I don’t have. I loved all the cupcake liners, some of the gifts you can find on fredflare.com or modcloth.com two more websites that I love. 141. If it has anything to do with cupcakes, I need it. I created a baking center in my kitchen. I even have a cupcake decorating station. I’m a little mad at you for linking to this website because now I’m going to blow my paycheck on it. But at the same time, I love you for it.

I try to treat myself to a new cupcake decorating treat every week.

  142. I admit it, I love to shop! My biggest mistake is walking into a craft store or Target. I buy way too many crafting supplies and cute clothes for my girls. Oh well, at least it’s for them and not me, right? ;) LOVE all of these cute baking liners, twines, ties, etc. I think I hear this website calling my name now.

  143. These are just too adorable :]]

    I can’t stop myself from buying… CHOCOLATE :]]

  144. Everything is so perfect and cute! Like so many others, I can’t stop myself from buying kitchen gadgets and cake pans. I have plastic bins full of them everywhere! My husband can’t complain, as he has the biggest DVD collection I’ve ever seen…

  145. I’m always buying chocolate!! I think the striped popcorn cupcake liners are soo cute!! love them!!

  146. i love the cupcake papers. they are too cute.
and i’m sure my cousin would love to steal… ahem. “borrow” anything that i bought from there. haha

  147. Baking cups. I have like 50 different cups, but cant use them :D Too cute.
And chocolate, aaahhh, i love chocolate. YamYam!

  148. My friend and I were talking about this today…she can’t stop buying ribbon! She buys it everywhere we go! I always seem to buy toilet paper..not because I want to, but because I live with 4 other males, three of them being children! :)

  149. Yarn. I have far too much yarn. but the colors… so pretty and soft :)

  150. Those twist-ties….my latest obsession??? But I cannot stop buying cute cello bags to give away cookies! Gaaah! This site is awesome!

  151. Bikinis! I have way too many swimsuits. Unfortunately, I make way too many cupcakes and don’t exactly fit in those suits anymore….

  152. So cute! I can’t stop myself from buying clothes, ingredients for baking and things from joann’s. Shopping, shopping, shopping!

  153. I can’t stop buying books! Which is awful because I work at a book store. I may have to get another job to support my first job.*sigh* But those popcorn bucket cupcakes are so darn cute!

  154. I think an easier question is what I CAN stop myself from buying.
Anything cute or mini for baking and decorating leaves me reaching for the wallet. As well as coats, hoodies, any kind of outer wear. I rationalize it by telling myself that since I live in Colorado I need layers, many many layers.

  155. meeeeeeeeeeeee o me o meeee please! i have been EYEING those muffin cups and japanese Tape for forEVERR..

    too.freaking.cute.

  156. haha What not? Wrapping papers, ribbons (while I already have all colors and shapes), al different kind of molds, books about cake craft… etc..

    Greetings Sabine

  157. I’m a sucker for a good deal, so pretty much anything that’s on sale, I can’t help but purchase. :)

  158. anything from a craft, baking store.
Mostly all the sparkly stuff and maybe the colorful paper….and the different kind of chocolates… or…… I’m lost!

  159. Anything baking related. Especially cookbooks and cute stuff like this!

  160. Spatulas, all colors shapes and sizes! Also, I really, really love themed cutesie measuring spoon!
    I’m a kitchen store junkie.

  161. I can’t stop myself from buying vintage dresses and skirts second hand. And anything that’s on sale. But then again, I call that saving, not spending ;)

Oh and adorable baking & crafting stuff is a bad one too ;)

  162. That stuff is so cute! I love it!

Something that I’ve always had an obsession with buying is DVD’s. We now have an entire wall that is filled with movies, tv shows and even a few video games. And the sad thing is, my shelves are full. And there is still a laundry list of DVD’s we want to get. But we need more shelf space first.

  163. I need a 12 step program because I am addicted to cupcake papers. If I don’t win the gift certificate, I will be purchasing more!

  164. That would be baking cups and sugar pearls. There are just too many colours :)
These things from bakeitpretty are just too sweet!

  165. Adorable!

I just have a problem with shopping in general. I even enjoy going to the grocery store!

  166. Oh my, that’s a fun site! I’m already making a list of the things I want. I’ve got a bridal shower coming up that would be a perfect place to show off some of these baking cups!

I have the same problem as you! I buy things and then I don’t want to use them because then they’ll be gone! I do that with paper. Cute pads of paper, notecards, lined, unlined, pretty pictures, monogrammed… it calls to me. And then, once I’ve brought it home, I can’t bear to not have it. Almost obsessive I think. :)

Thank you for finding all these wonderful sites for us!

  167. I can’t stop buying books. If I ever have babies, I won’t be able to stop myself from buying crocheted baby hats. If I win this gift card? Cupcake liners all the way…

  168. Hey and greetings from finland!
You have here great things, amazing things!

  169. I am addicted to chapsticks!
I cleaned my room one day, 7 containers in just that room alone. The bathroom had more and I fear to look into my purse anymore.

  170. These are just amazing! I wish I could have some of this stuff!

  171. I’d take anything you bought, but I am also ‘forced’ to buy things that are red, checked or dots. Yep, forced against my will….or is it forced against my better judgment? Lori Lucas

  172. dresses. and chocolate! 2 of my guilty pleasures!

  173. I can’t stop buying DVDs. It’s a serious problem but hey, when they put me away for my crazy behaviour, at least I’ll have something to watch!

  174. Oh my cute! I would love anything from this site…especially the cute baking cups. My three year old would eat anything made in these!

  175. Okay, so here’s the translation of the recipe; Plum muffins;
Stir 100g melted, cooled butter with 200 ml dark brown sugar. Add 2 eggs and whip well.
Add 150 ml sour cream and 350 ml flour mixed with 1 tsp cardamom and 2 tsp baking powder.
Halve 2 plums, remove stones and cut in squares. Mix into the dough.
Divide the dough in 15 cases, sprinkle sugar over and bake at 225 celcius for about 12 minutes. HTH
Oh, and my addiction is books, of any kind.

  176. can’t stop myself from buying CUTEEEE stuffs <3
got lots of different type of sprinkles at home :)

the white/ red stripes baking cups are so adorable!!!!!

  177. School supplies! Notebooks, colorful pens, mini post-its… even index cards. I keep hoarding them but never using them because they’re so pretty. :D

  178. Im glad it is not just me that has a problem with buying cupcake papers! I have the Paper Eskimo red and white striped ones too! They sit in my cupboard and look pretty…I dont want to bake anything in them…but they are so pretty!

  179. I have never ever been able to stop buying fashion magazines. I once had a pile of at least 50 or 60 in college, which was insane. Lately though, I almost can’t leave the store without buying different types of lemonades/fruit juice, and the accompanying pack of flexible straws. It must be the combination of different drink/neon straw colors that makes me think Spring/Summer!! I can’t stop!

  180. I AM JUST DYING WHILE READING THIS POST!

Everything is SOOO cute! I can’t wait to check out the site… man, I am so sharing this with all of my baking friends!

All ideas I can create with these… I love the cupcake wrappers… and the straws? Cute!

Question: Sometimes when I bake dark-colored cakes, such as red velvet, the color is so dark that is seeps through the cupcake wrappers… and you can’t see the gorgeous designs. How do I prevent that? Do I double-layer the wrappers?

  181. I can’t stop buying t-shirts for my little boys with sassy little sayings. Seriously, they could wear different shirts everyday for a month and not have worn them all. Good news is two of my greatest friends collect clothing to give to children in the foster care system and as soon as the boys outgrow anything it gets passed along.

  182. I love buying baking/cupcake supplies…and I’m like you where if something is just too cute, I don’t want to use them! I’ve gone through different phases – when I was younger, it was stationary and more recently it was tote bags (??).

  183. Clothes, shoes, & chocolate!

  184. handbags :( i only have two arms, but i have a closet full of bags….

  185. My birthday is next week so everyone has been asking me what I want. I just sent them all the link to Bake It Pretty with a pretty long wish list… I hope they get me the gnome candle =)

  186. I can’t keep from buying fabric and chocolate!! Two of my favorite things!!!

  187. The flower stencil cupcake wrappers, the parade wrappers, the vintage wallpaper style wrappers, the polka dots, the woodland mushroom fairy cake cases, oh my, the panettone baking cups – wow, Hillary Paisley! Elenor Green! Pink Peacock! Very much in love with the metallic damask cups, the Danish lolly moulds, just wow, the paper twist ties, Copenhagen cord, oh my gosh, ALL of the doilies, oh the cupcake kits are adorable, pirates, birds, princesses, bridal, ballerina, mermaids and fairies!

Can not trust myself to even look through this website any longer. I may not ever move again.

  188. I can’t stop myself from buying fabric. I love to look at vintage stores and buy anything in their crafting sections…basically because they are really cheap and real vintage instead of the “new vintage” look that it in right now:)

  189. I can’t stop buying baking books, i am obsessed with trying new recipes!!

  190. I HEART BAKE IT PRETTY!!!! I want the WHOLE store! I love all the unique candy molds….i love their selection of cupcake wrappers…love the non-pariels sprinkles!!! I want it ALL! =)

  191. Definitely can’t get enough baking/cooking gadgets and accessories! Even if I already have three at home, if I see something new that is slightly different design/color/size, I have to have it. I am very dangerous in the Wilton aisle!

  192. Oh my, it’s in swedish! And I actually have seen them in stores here (yes, I’m from sweden) but I haven’t bought any, ’cause I know I wouldn’t dare to bake in them. They’re way to cute!

And about stuff I can’t stop myself from buying? Fabric, loooads of fabric! Flowy fabric, stiff fabric, fabric in one colour, fabrics in every colour you could imagine at the same time. You get it. I have way to much fabric… (Oh, all the dresses I have to make… <3)

  193. Oh geez… and all the fantastic bakery boxes… so freaking cute!

  194. Paper! I -love-love-love- paper! Especially premium paper. Once I had a sales rep from an Italian paper company give me some of their promo gifts. I was in heaven for weeks and I still have their cookbook. :)

  195. school supplies and gum :D
    typical college student.

  196. Enter me! I’m totally smitten with those button molds!

Can’t stop buying books. I’m a book nut. And not novels….I love how-to books, cookbooks, and books on spiritual growth.

  197. Oh my gosh, what a great site. The teacupcakes!! So cute! And all the molds… I will spend way too much time here.

  198. I have a problem with baking tins. I really really do. The lady in the home goods store sends me a text message if they get in anything that I don’t have.

…If I win that voucher I will probably get more.

  199. Ok, for the record you are just evil to share this site with me because now I have a whole list of things on my “must have” list for my baking projects – not only do they have cute packaging but they have papers & foils to embellish with as well as gourmet spices and those cute lunch box tins are to die for…

*sigh* it’s all so good & I will be placing an order once I get the total down to a reasonable number…lol
