Stuffs

IMG_6193

Earlier this year I posted a cute candy button display that my friend Julie made following a tutorial on a website called Bake it Pretty. And even though I had heard of and seen their site, I had not really looked around it all that much… until recently.

**Warning… enter their site at your own risk or else you might just leave it with a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t know you had to have…

IMG_6274

… like these superty-duperty cute baking cups.

They sell lots of fun designs you probably won’t find in your local craft or grocery store…

IMG_6277

… unless you can read this.

IMG_6278

or know where to find these.

IMG_6253

If you visit them, you might be tempted by shiny things.

IMG_6207

Or these. I was forced to buy them in several colors…

IMG_6255

… and sizes.

The website made me do it. I promise. I mean if I just bought one color, which one?

Red? Of course, but what about black? How often do you come across black gingham print baking cups? Or orange? Or blue?

You know… I didn’t even need any more baking cups. Like for the next couple of years … I’m good.

IMG_6214

But, then there’s these. I mean how cute can you get?

It’s funny – right before I found them I was wanting to make some popcorn bucket cupcakes, but figured I would have to make my own wrappers because I knew I would never find any with stripes. So instead I made these flat brownie popcorn bags. Then, right after making them, voila – perfect little cups.

And now, I can’t bring myself to even bake in them. They’re so cute I don’t want to be without them. I just want to look at them. Is that weird?

Don’t answer that.

IMG_6280

And the cute little poem doesn’t hurt either.

IMG_6235

More baking cups. These, like the striped ones stand up on their own. You can place them right on a baking sheet and go.

However, I haven’t used these yet either. I have a problem.

IMG_6263

I worked my way through all the sections of the site and couldn’t leave without having these tapes and twine in my life.

IMG_6238

And look at these cute little twist ties in pink, purple and tiny hearts.

Adorable.

But they don’t hold a candle to these…

IMG_6240

Dying over here. Plus, they’re kinda perfect for packaging cake pops.

IMG_6224

You can even make your drinks look cute. Love these straws.

If you want to see them in action, check out how good they look with Tartelette’s ice cream sandwiches. Not that her pictures aren’t already perfection.

IMG_6286

And look, a button mold.

I had to have one of these, too. You know – just in case I ever want to make my own candy button display like this one.

IMG_6288

P.S. – I may or may not have also purchased these not exactly kid friendly candies. But, if I did – the website made me do that, too.

Want to pick out your own stuff?

  1. Those shiny cupcake cups are great! i need them…
I always have to buy pretty cardstock or paper. I can’t help it; there are too many wonderful patterns to not have!

  2. I’m normally very cheap and unwilling to spend money on anything, but as soon as I enter a supermarket I become a different person. As soon as i see something that strikes my fancy, I have to have it. This results in an overstocked pantry, but I always find a way to use my latest purchases…yum! =]

  3. i am completely obsessed with notebooks and journals. someday i will fill them all up!

  4. I used to love candy cigarettes! Wow, I would buy all of that. I can’t keep myself from buying athletic shoes. I wear them to work and I have them in a rainbow of colors to match every outfit. I need help.

  5. I really like the nonpareils sprinkles and the staybrite victorian red baking cups!

  6. I canNOT stop buying pink depression glass. Not just any old pieces, though. Just the cute Bon bon dishes, tidbit trays, dessert servers,,, you get the picture! Pretty desserts on pretty dishes are my downfall! Barb ( aka Babs does bon bons )

  7. well, if i go to that website, i’ll won’t be able to stop myself from buying everything! haha. but i have trouble controlling myself in shoe stores. [:

  8. Wow. I am always finding that I don’t have enough baking stuff, especially the little decorating accoutrements.

Outside of baking pans (which used to be my worst habit), I am addicted to buying books and yarn. I really don’t go into a yarn shop without leaving with something.

  9. I love the baking cups from Bake it Pretty! Although I have experience with cake decorating, I prefer making cupcakes (it doesn’t require as much patience, instant gratification); so I love the pretty baking cups!

  10. i’d LOVE to win one! i’ve got an event coming up that needs a bit of jazzing up, and that would be perfect!

  11. Oof. I can’t help myself when it comes to buying fabric. I have rows of bins and just keep finding more that I MUST have! Oh, and since I am confessing things, I also have a difficult time at Target. And Fancy Flours.

In other news, I have the little brown brioche cups and they are wonderful! They automatically make the cupcake more sophisticated, and I love how stiff the sides are.

    Thanks for the information!

  12. I can’t stop buying pretty yarn. Especially hand-dyed sock yarn.

  13. Well, a lot of the things you put onto this force somehow find their way onto my shopping list. Which my mother then finds and erases, much to my dismay.
I like buying frosting, candy melts, and cake mix for those fabulous cake pops.
but for the less edible things
I can’t stop buying shoes. I have a problem. Honestly. I have more shoes than I have outfits to match them with. And baking supplies. Every time my mother takes me to michael’s I spend the whole half hour drooling over the various pans, and supplies that I know she’ll never let me buy.
It’s becoming a sort of obsession of mine.
    But shhh
    that’s a secret.

  14. Magazines get me every time, especially recipe ones! And I love those stripey cases, they’re super cute!

I mean, the stuff you showed is so darn cute, how could I go wrong buying stuff right? but then the box would arrive, and the husband would see what i bought, and I would get “the look”. So for now I’m resisting, but give me a day or two and I’m sure I’ll be expecting my own box of goodies.

I can’t stop buy books and workout clothes. I love to read and so of course I can’t help buying books. Workout clothes..there’s always something that I want or find on sale that is an excellent price and I just can’t pass up paying $23 for a pair of running shorts instead of $40. Who wouldn’t!

  65. I am a compulsive book buyer! Amazon is a dangerous website.

  66. Hi, I can´t stop buying wrappers, cookie cutters … and all that kind of sweet things for baking. My problem is that I live in Spain and I only find those cute things in USA, so, Can you imagine all my orders coming from your country?

Then the scrapbook paper came along, and finally I was able to do something with all those adorable patterns! Cards, scrapbook pages, more cards, paper flowers, I love paper!

  78. I looked on that website once and haven’t been back! Not because it isn’t awesome, but because I have a limited amount of money in my bank account and most of it is destined for more important things, like bills. 79. I can’t help buying Sharpies. I adore them all…big, fat ones; and the fine tip ones; neon colors; rainbow colors; metallics. Same thing for iced cookies – cutters (LOVE the Wilton Comfort-Grip line!), food colourings, squeeze bottles, etc. And stacks of prints-outs for design ideas. But at least I’ve put these to good use… make a couple batches each month since Christmas. But really need to admit that I have enough.

Convinced I am going to a bomb diggety scrap-booker therefore I have been buying albums, decorative bits, ribbons and tapes, card stocks, stickers and beads, fancy scissors and cutters PLUS various storage equipment… but I have yet to finish one book!
