Stuffs

IMG_6193

Earlier this year I posted a cute candy button display that my friend Julie made following a tutorial on a website called Bake it Pretty. And even though I had heard of and seen their site, I had not really looked around it all that much… until recently.

**Warning… enter their site at your own risk or else you might just leave it with a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t know you had to have…

IMG_6274

… like these superty-duperty cute baking cups.

They sell lots of fun designs you probably won’t find in your local craft or grocery store…

IMG_6277

… unless you can read this.

IMG_6278

or know where to find these.

IMG_6253

If you visit them, you might be tempted by shiny things.

IMG_6207

Or these. I was forced to buy them in several colors…

IMG_6255

… and sizes.

The website made me do it. I promise. I mean if I just bought one color, which one?

Red? Of course, but what about black? How often do you come across black gingham print baking cups? Or orange? Or blue?

You know… I didn’t even need any more baking cups. Like for the next couple of years … I’m good.

IMG_6214

But, then there’s these. I mean how cute can you get?

It’s funny – right before I found them I was wanting to make some popcorn bucket cupcakes, but figured I would have to make my own wrappers because I knew I would never find any with stripes. So instead I made these flat brownie popcorn bags. Then, right after making them, voila – perfect little cups.

And now, I can’t bring myself to even bake in them. They’re so cute I don’t want to be without them. I just want to look at them. Is that weird?

Don’t answer that.

IMG_6280

And the cute little poem doesn’t hurt either.

IMG_6235

More baking cups. These, like the striped ones stand up on their own. You can place them right on a baking sheet and go.

However, I haven’t used these yet either. I have a problem.

IMG_6263

I worked my way through all the sections of the site and couldn’t leave without having these tapes and twine in my life.

IMG_6238

And look at these cute little twist ties in pink, purple and tiny hearts.

Adorable.

But they don’t hold a candle to these…

IMG_6240

Dying over here. Plus, they’re kinda perfect for packaging cake pops.

IMG_6224

You can even make your drinks look cute. Love these straws.

If you want to see them in action, check out how good they look with Tartelette’s ice cream sandwiches. Not that her pictures aren’t already perfection.

IMG_6286

And look, a button mold.

I had to have one of these, too. You know – just in case I ever want to make my own candy button display like this one.

IMG_6288

P.S. – I may or may not have also purchased these not exactly kid friendly candies. But, if I did – the website made me do that, too.

Want to pick out your own stuff?

Want me to foot the bill?

  18. I’m addicted to almost anything cute and crafty. Especially for baking. I love to tweak recipes to add surprise flavors to them, and display them in ways that people will be shocked with. I made tiny turkey dinners on cookies last Thanksgiving, it was a huge hit, though several family members were curious as to how I had the time for such an undertaking. I have the worst flares of my problem when I visit Michael’s craft store…oh that is a DANGEROUS place for me…

  19. I can’t stop buying cookie cutters! My latest purchase was one in the shape of NJ. I need help!!

I also can’t stop buying books (any topic as long as it’s non-fiction OR Harry Potter related), or lemon-scented bodywashes and sprays from Bath & Body!

Cake Pops, Pie pops, cupcakes, cakes, pies, crostata, homemade sugar cubs…and the list goes on. For my entire life I have had impulsive habbits when it comes to buying the following.
-chapstick. (even after i have learned i am highly alergic to most kinds)
    -handbags.
    -dresses.
-house decor. I dont even own a house but I own enough house decor to decorate many a room.
    I just cant stop.

  31. Shoes…it’s bad.

  32. I’m in so much trouble after you shared this site!! I’m planning my son’s 1st b’day and making cupcakes and now I’ve found the perfect cups for them!!! 37. For some odd reason I can’t stop myself from buying white ceramic teapots, cute aprons, and of course cupcake liners (At this point I don’t think I’ll run out of those for a while).

  38. I think that I just drooled on my desk looking at all those wonderful things. Yep, there is a puddle. Hehehehe.

  39. I love to buy in this order cookie cutters, cupcake papers, Nordic ware baking pans, and sugars and sprinkles. I am ready for any holiday or event you can think of.

  40. Fabric!!! I swear, Fabric.com might as well just set up a direct monthly courier to my door!

  41. Ice cream. You’d think I’d be over the cravings now that I’ve given birth. I think they’ve gotten worse!

I love that website. I’d probably get everything cupcake related. I need a good excuse to make a bunch of yummy cupcakes.

  42. Cupcake cups. I can’t stop buying them. It’s a sickness.

  43. Gah! So full of cute! Lemme see, there’s plenty of stores I can’t let myself go into, for fear of buying up everything (book stores, cooking stores, shoe stores, craft stores), and anything on sale is even more tempting, but the thing that takes the most effort for me to say no to is definitely chocolate!!

  48. This is AMAZING! Thank you (or not, I’m not sure…) I have oodles of patterned Chinese food take-out cartons in my kitchen for passing along desserts and other food to dinner guests, but these take the obsession to a whole new level!

    Thanks again!

  49. I can’t stop from buying string cheese, I know it’s not very exciting but my kids are going through a 24 pack a week!

  50. Wow those are just about the CUTEST cupcake cups I’ve ever seen! The gingham ones especially :)

  51. I love that the poem says they STAY bright!! It’s always a bummer when the paper goes translucent when they were bought purposely because of the cute print factor..adorable!

  55. Beads!

  56. What fun those papers are! I love the gingham ones. I must confess…I cannot stop buying teas! I have become obsessed with all of the wonderful and different varieties out there. I was just looking at my tea stash and easily have one hundred dollars worth. Sad, I know but less calories than chocolate! :) Thanks for entering me :)

  60. I can’t stop buying myself so many things. I have a problem with buying new ingredients to try when I’m making dinner. I buy at least one or two new ingredients every single week. 61. I LOVE all the different cupcake holders. I would spend it all on those! Thanks for the chance.

  62. I go through phases – used book, yarn when I first learned how to knit, etc. No long-standing “must buy” item – don’t have the money for it.

  63. Horse stuff, weather it’s treats for my lovely horse, or a new saddle pad, that new pair of breeches, or a beautiful new brow band for my bridle. It’s an expensive passion, and I always need to have it.

  64. i’ll admit it-i’m joining a 12 step program for gardening stuff-and sheesh looks like a 12 step for i-cant-believe-how-cute-it-is cookie/candy/cupcake stuff-please stop! my pantry cant hold anymore! ok…maybe just a FEW more cute things!

  75. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING cupcake related. I am obsessed with buying it ALL! :-) Crossing my fingers I win. We are having a movie party in a couple weeks and I have already planned to make the popcorn cupcakes. Those wrappers would be PERFECT!

  77. Cute cards, shoes and books top my list of things I can’t stop buying…actually books are the first thing…I’ve bought probably 13 books in the past 6 months and have only had time to read about 4 of them.

  87. Spices. It’s completely preposterous. I don’t even know what annatto powder is, but I sure bought some on Saturday.

  88. Honestly?? You want me to choose amongst my addictions?? Hmmm… Every flavor of coffee creamer. Baking chips on sale. Scrapbook paper to decorate my pastry boxes with. And anything Denver Broncos!!

  89. They had me at Sprinkles. I’ve never seen so many cute sprinkles before. I also LOVED their selection of cookie cutters. What a great site!!

  101. I’m checking out Bake It Pretty right now and I think I’m in LOVE. I want it allllllll.

I can’t stop myself from buying baking supplies and ingredients. If I see something cute or tasty I will buy it. At the moment I have a pretty decent sprinkle collection, lol.

  106. I’m just getting into baking (I hold your site highly responsible for that! ;) ) but I have a few other hobbies I’ve nurtured over the years.

These have all lead to my eBay purchasing score that’s 451 (I’ve only been purchasing since August 2005) and you could add another 200+ for purchases I’ve made from sellers again as they don’t count towards the feedback score…

For a while I over-purchased jewelry-making supplies, then crochet-supplies, then it was knitting supplies, papercrafting supplies, then I had a thing for buttons! The Hubs still looks at my button collection with amusement.

Now, however, I am on to cookie cutters and books recommended by your lovely and talented self.

I’ve always loved to bake, but I’ve baked things for me and others happened to like them too… Now, however, I’m baking and tailoring my recipes/results to please audiences and getting rave reviews… What better way to do this than to tease the sense of sight with pretty papers/finishing bits to round off the whole package!?

  117. I can not stop myself from buying scrapbook supplies. Although I can never find the time to work on my scrapbooks and I don’t want to use any of my cute stickers (I live in fear that I might never find them to buy again) I still manage to buy buy buy more scrapbook stuff then I could possibly need. Baking supplies are coming in a close second lately, and I am afraid of venturing to that website for fear of the checkout total when I am done.

  118. Love all the treat bags and baking cups. I’m also seriously thinking of the large pastry tip since that could be the key to the perfect frosted cup cake even though the folks at Magnolia Bakery do it with a large spatula I remain unconvinced it’s just my bad technique!

  132. craft gadgets, cooking gadgets and cute packaging stuff for wrapping… love all of it…

  133. I could buy any of the cupcake wrappers and be a giddy lil girl again! The blue moroccan wraps were gorg!

  135. I seriously need the TeaCupCakes silicone bakers, but the CakeWich is so cute it’s hard to resist!

  136. Man, I get giddy when I go into supply stores like this. And I’m with you… I buy cute stuff but can’t bring myself to use it. I just don’t want it to be gone. I’ve wanted to buy bakers twine since the first time I saw it, but I know I don’t “need” it and how could I possibly choose just one color?

  137. Hi Bakerella!!!

I have just bought 3 packets of cupcake paper moulds. i also heart sprinkles and anything to make my cakes beautiful!

By the way, I made Hello Kitty cake pops, my first cake pops ever, last week and they were adorable.

  146. I would love to have some cupcake decoration. Sprincles and edible ink marker and some cookie cutter. Love the Quacking Duck Cutter :)

  147. I love buying really useless toys that entertain me for like a day, I’m such a child at heart.
