Stuffs

IMG_6193

Earlier this year I posted a cute candy button display that my friend Julie made following a tutorial on a website called Bake it Pretty. And even though I had heard of and seen their site, I had not really looked around it all that much… until recently.

**Warning… enter their site at your own risk or else you might just leave it with a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t know you had to have…

IMG_6274

… like these superty-duperty cute baking cups.

They sell lots of fun designs you probably won’t find in your local craft or grocery store…

IMG_6277

… unless you can read this.

IMG_6278

or know where to find these.

IMG_6253

If you visit them, you might be tempted by shiny things.

IMG_6207

Or these. I was forced to buy them in several colors…

IMG_6255

… and sizes.

The website made me do it. I promise. I mean if I just bought one color, which one?

Red? Of course, but what about black? How often do you come across black gingham print baking cups? Or orange? Or blue?

You know… I didn’t even need any more baking cups. Like for the next couple of years … I’m good.

IMG_6214

But, then there’s these. I mean how cute can you get?

It’s funny – right before I found them I was wanting to make some popcorn bucket cupcakes, but figured I would have to make my own wrappers because I knew I would never find any with stripes. So instead I made these flat brownie popcorn bags. Then, right after making them, voila – perfect little cups.

And now, I can’t bring myself to even bake in them. They’re so cute I don’t want to be without them. I just want to look at them. Is that weird?

Don’t answer that.

IMG_6280

And the cute little poem doesn’t hurt either.

IMG_6235

More baking cups. These, like the striped ones stand up on their own. You can place them right on a baking sheet and go.

However, I haven’t used these yet either. I have a problem.

IMG_6263

I worked my way through all the sections of the site and couldn’t leave without having these tapes and twine in my life.

IMG_6238

And look at these cute little twist ties in pink, purple and tiny hearts.

Adorable.

But they don’t hold a candle to these…

IMG_6240

Dying over here. Plus, they’re kinda perfect for packaging cake pops.

IMG_6224

You can even make your drinks look cute. Love these straws.

If you want to see them in action, check out how good they look with Tartelette’s ice cream sandwiches. Not that her pictures aren’t already perfection.

IMG_6286

And look, a button mold.

I had to have one of these, too. You know – just in case I ever want to make my own candy button display like this one.

IMG_6288

P.S. – I may or may not have also purchased these not exactly kid friendly candies. But, if I did – the website made me do that, too.

Want to pick out your own stuff?

Want me to foot the bill?

Okay, you talked me into it.

  1. Yarn. And also, I totally understand the not wanting to use it because then you won’t have it to look at anymore thing. Yarn.

  2. Last time I ended up buying a bunch of candy molds because those are hard to find. Everything on Bake it Pretty is really cute and special though, so you very easily spend more than you intended :)

  3. Fabric! I can’t help it!

  4. For some reason, I cannot stop buying clutches. I like the little vintage one with unique closures. They are definitely a guilty pleasure and I rarely use them but they are just so pretty!

  5. There are plenty of things I can’t stop buying, but mostly it’s yarn. I bought a few skeins over the weekend to make a present for a pregnant coworker, then found I had the exact same yarn when I got home. I must have really liked it…

  6. I can’t stop myself from buying recipe books, and cake decorating books.

  16. I LOVE this stuff!! Especially all the cupcake wrappers!

I can’t stop myself from buying used books….

  17. I might have to visit this site as soon as my husband leaves! I buy too many shirts, WAY too many..

  18. Cookbooks. Knitting books. Crochet books. crafty stuff. I buy it, look at it, think it’s awesome and pretty and so convenient for that one big crafty thing I want to do… and then either forget about it and buy new stuff, or forget about that one big crafty thing. My house is littered with yarn and cookbooks…

Should have known about these earlier though.. I just finished baking the most delicious cupcakes ever (made with Pioneer Woman’s chocolate sheet cake recipe) and was out of liners…

  19. I have several lifetimes worth of wrapping paper and ribbon in my stash. I love ribbon. I love wrapping paper. TO EXCESS! WRETCHED EXCESS!!!! :)

  24. i cant stop my self from buying anything martha stewart blue for my kitchen. i have pretty much everything she has made in her blue. im lucky i decided to give in and buy the food processor, stand mixer, and hand mixer when i did! they dont make them anymore!

  25. When it comes to baking, I can’t stop buying anything cupcake related. I can’t resist, even if I don’t knew what, or when, I’ll use it for. If it’s cute, I have to get it! In general, I’m a big sucker for anything in Target’s $1 section or their clearanced items. It’s like a compulsion. I have to walk through those areas every time I go to Target…just in case there’s something new!

  31. I must confess, if I stop to buy gasoline on the way in to work, I cannot stop myself from purchasing a package of powdered donuts. I may be wearing a black suit and have a hearing or trial that day, but the sugary goodness promises to be worth the risk of getting powdered sugar everywhere.

  32. My addiction hands down anything 1940’s war era especially for the kitchen. aprons, gadgets, decor I just love it all.

  33. I love this website!! I am addicted to buying Gymboree clothing for my daughter. From eBay. I’m not sure if it’s the clothes or the thrill of the auction, but don’t get me started. Does a 2 yr old really need 40 summer outfits???

  34. Currently I am into paper crafting, cards, boxes etc. and I love colour. So look out if I am in a craft or scrapbooking store! Mind you I found of all things brightly coloured microfibre cleaning cloths last week and ended up going back to buy more just because of the beautiful colours…so I’m weird, at least I’ll be bright!!

  43. Adooo….rable!!!

Chocolate, oh yes chocolate and lots of it

  44. I can’t stop buying things for my new home! We’re not even at the move-in stage yet, but it doesn’t stop me from purchasing little things for our house!

  58. Wow! First of all, Bake It Pretty is one of my favorite websites, although I have yet to purchase anything from them.

Second, I can’t seem to stop myself from buying colorful baking cups/cupcake liners. There’s so many different kinds out there! ?

  59. Books…cookbooks, novels, children’s books… I love books!

  60. Honestly? I’m addicted to Amazon, mostly books. Cooking, Financial (which doesn’t makes sense given the addiction) Dog training books (since I have a new puppy) and Home improvement books.

  64. I think it’s safe to say I will take one of everything! :)

  65. Can’t stop buying? Cake related would be luster dust. I have almost every color imaginable. And non-cake related? Shoes. Again, I have almost every color imaginable!

Then it was cupcake liners. Before I knew it, I had hundreds and hundreds

Then came sprinkles…of all sorts. Now I have way too many.

Trying to contain myself…….but I went to my local cake shop this past week. There are so many things that I “NEED” in that shop. I was able to limit myself….but only because I had my daughter in tow and felt the need to be a good example for her.

Thank goodness for kids and cake shops!

  84. IF I had the money, it would be spent on eating out and traveling. I LOVE to get out and travel. And IF I won this giveaway, I would definitely be getting some of those gingham baking cups. 87. I can’t resist the magazines at checkout counters.

  88. cupcake liners. seriously. i have bags and bags of them in my cupboard for every season and occasion.

  89. Cute kitchen stuff!!! And, I super love the candy ciggs. We let the kids have those as we drive to the beach and then laugh when people notice and are completely offended at kids smoking. If you only knew how strict I am in real life….. This is my “summer humor” – or that is wht my kids say!

  90. I love BakeItPretty. I bought the mustache molds from this site, and made many chocolate mustaches for my wedding candy table. I would probably buy some cute storage containers from her to give away all of my own sweets.

This is how I found your site…I look forward to making cupcake pops for her party – but now we can’t stop…cupcake this, cupcake that!!! It is out of control….one of the most recent purchases was a 4ft inflatable cupcake…we thought it would be a blow up similiar to a beach ball – but it is actually an inflatable with a pump/fan! Yikes! :)

  94. Lately I have been buying anything that would make a cupcake look cute. Be it baking cups or sprinkles. It gets pretty dangerous for the pocket book.

  100. Holy cuteness! Those are all so beautiful!

As for what I can’t stop buying…scrapbook paper! I swear, one of these days it’s going to take over my home and I’m going to have to sleep on the porch. I have more than I could use in five lifetimes, but I still keep buying more. It’s so pretty and it begs me to take it home!

  101. cupcake papers! i just can’t get enough!! I use them for everything too!!!! my middle daughter is in love with bento boxes and I use alot of them to hold and seperate the food in them! oh, and small cookie cutters! i think i have a problem with those! lol

  109. I just can’t quit buying cook books! Baking ones specifically. I’ve on my second bookshelf in my office. It’s 5′ x 3′ now!

And, don’t even get me started on shoes….

  110. I have the same obsession as you… I can’t stop myself from buying cupcake cups. I have piles of them, but always need more. The sad part is that I only ever bake using plain white cups. The patterened and coloured ones are just too cute!

  111. :) I meant “I don’t know if I’m eligible since I’m from Turkey” :P

  112. So cute!

  119. I can’t stop myself from buying baby clothes with skulls on them! Shoes, onesies, sweaters– you name it!

  120. I LOVE Bake It Pretty! Their selection is incredible!

  121. I’m a shoe girl, too. I just bought 3 new pairs this month. Did I need ’em? No. Do I love ’em? YES!

  122. I seriously cannot stop myself from buying tiny little clothes for my son who is due next week. I say he has plenty and then I see the cutest outfit and must have it!!! :)

I cannot stop myself from buying sprinkles. I have to have different colors, shapes, sizes. I actually need them. If I don’t buy sprinkles at least once a month, my heart starts beating a little bit slower than normal.

  130. Bad Bad Bad
I just spent $100 at my local cake supply store on Saturday! (got a madeleine pan though which I’ve always wanted to try making)
I have to agree with you on the paper cups, I have a whole shelf of them, I wonder though, sometimes the festive ones stain the inside of my cupcake pan (as in I permanently had hot pink and green stripes in the bottom of the pan)
I’m game either way, let the baking festivities begin :)

  141. I can’t keep myself from buying children’s books- really, it’s getting ridiculous around here. :)

However, after taking a look around Bake It Pretty, I might have a new obsession- mustache-themed baking products!

  151. I can’t stop myself from buying things that cost $1. I always feel like I’ve hit the jackpot when I’m in the Target Dollar Spot or a dollar store of any kind. I mean, if it’s a dollar, it has to be a good deal, right? :)

I really want those little popcorn cake papers!

  152. Ohmygoodness that stuff is so adorable. Honestly, I can’t stop buying post-it notes. If it’s a size/color/cute decoration I don’t have, I swoop. If it’s a size/color I have but it’s in a cute package, it’s mine in seconds. Is this a problem? Maybe, but I’m never without just the right post-it.

  153. CHOCOLATE. Really good, rich, dark chocolate bars. DELICIOUS.

  154. omg bakerella! u did it again! i am a sucker for anything cake/cupcake related or anything 2 do with flamingos (strange combo i know!)

  168. Oooooh, my weakness is usually sprinkles, but I don’t have cute things like that around me…. I’m in real trouble now that I know where to find those. I also love cookbooks, especially ones that have recipes that “normal” people can make every day. I love to just sit and read the recipes.

  169. OMG I love buying little boxes for truffles and things. Wedding favor boxes, plain white boxes. I have about 5 packs of different kinds. Haven’t used them once because OMG what if I need to use them and I don’t have them? I have a sickness.

  171. Bakerella…I am a jewelry designer and maker, and I can’t help but buy beautiful beads and wire, and other findings! Even when I am not selling things to offset the expenditures, they are fun to fondle and daydream about. I am always doodling swirls and curls at work :)

  172. I find myself buying lots of cute summer dresses and flats! I am anxiously waiting for warm sunny weather, full of grill outs, and time with family and friends.

  173. Spices & seasonings! I swear I have every possible spice, seasoning mix, spice blend, grill blend–you name it–possible! I think my spices have quadrupled in the past year since I’ve been married. My husband still can’t figure out what I do with them all :)

  176. I am addicted to buying cake/cupcake decorating books. I just can’t stop myself when I see one with a pretty cover I just have to have it. I also have been purchasing a lot of different style cupcake wrappers lately for some reason. I think because there are so many beautiful ones to choose from. Growing up I just remember there being only two packs to buy either white or the pack with yellow, pink, and blue. LOL

  177. I can’t help but buy plates and serving ceramic / pottery pieces .I have a kitchen closet full plus some cabinets in the kitchen that hold them! I buy so much I don’t even know what I have any more. But it is a nice surprise to find something hidden away that I forgot about!

  178. I can’t stop buying fondant and gumpaste cutters and candy molds. That button one is mighty mighty cute. Gotta have them all you know. You just never know when you might need that obsecure one of a kind cutter

  181. What CAN I resist would be a shorter answer. There are so many things to love. The twine and tape is totally awesome!! Who can ever have too many cute molds? The baking cups all have adorable patterns, shapes & colors! I it all!! I sure hope my name is pulled from the hat!! Thanks for the chance to win some great stuff. I sure have a feeling I’ll be spending more than the alotted $50.

  182. O – M – G !!!! I’m headed for a baking cute coma right now. I cannot stop buying mini cupcake papers. Can.Not.Stop!!!!! I think I need a 12 step program or something…

  184. I can almost figure out the recipe in swedish but I’m sure I’d misinterpret the most important thing;) I love those cupcake liners–such vibrant colors. I could totally go crazy with those.

  185. What do I want to buy? It would be easier to say what I don’t want to buy!!! This is the 3rd time this week that I have come across a reference to the Bake It Pretty website, and I have been resisting going to it because I knew there would be so much that I wanted to get!!

  186. can’t stop buying card making materials. I spend like way too much money which is why I need this voucher :-)

  187. I’m helpless when i see a lovely sheet of paper or cute stickers. And i don’t even scrapbook.

  188. ever since I started my own baking blog I can’t get enough baking supplies! I have en entire cabinet in my kitchen devoted to things like candy melts, sprinkles, icing writers, flavor extracts, cookie cutters… though after looking at this post I am decidedly lacking in cute twist ties and cupcake liners!

  189. All things cake. I don’t even go to craft stores anymore. Okay, that’s not true. I tell myself I shouldn’t even go to craft stores anymore. And actual cake stores? Yikes. I could spend days. I could live there, eating the sprinkles if I got hungry.

  190. The twine….love, love, love that twine among other things. So many uses I can think of for that darling spool of twine!!!!!!

  191. Ooh…I’ll happily shop for just about anything except bathing suits and blue jeans!

  192. Adorable! I think I will have to do future party themes based on these cute cupcake wrappers! I love them! :)

  193. Holy crap, Bake it Pretty has been my go-to for spending too much money on things I APPARENTLY DESPERATELY NEED. Like the tiny gnome cookie cutters, and the itty bitty Shlitz cupcake toppers for my fiance’s birthday… and the AMAZING cupcake liners. I just want to put them in display boxes around my house so I can look at them all day. Totally rational impulse.

  194. I absolutely love all the cupcake paraphernalia!!! I’ve been imaging all kinds of unique cupcakes to pair with those adorable liners! Love it!

  195. I’ve been a regular of Bake It Pretty and I too cannot live without the same goodies – cupcake liners, twine, etc. They are all too cute to resist! The good thing is that they never go bad!

I also cannot stop buying chocolate chips and cookie cutters!

  197. I can’t seem to pass up kitchen tools and accessories

  198. books. I have too many – but yet buy more.
Also – funky jewelry. I have a ton of artist friends who I keep buying from.
