Stuffs

IMG_6193

Earlier this year I posted a cute candy button display that my friend Julie made following a tutorial on a website called Bake it Pretty. And even though I had heard of and seen their site, I had not really looked around it all that much… until recently.

**Warning… enter their site at your own risk or else you might just leave it with a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t know you had to have…

IMG_6274

… like these superty-duperty cute baking cups.

They sell lots of fun designs you probably won’t find in your local craft or grocery store…

IMG_6277

… unless you can read this.

IMG_6278

or know where to find these.

IMG_6253

If you visit them, you might be tempted by shiny things.

IMG_6207

Or these. I was forced to buy them in several colors…

IMG_6255

… and sizes.

The website made me do it. I promise. I mean if I just bought one color, which one?

Red? Of course, but what about black? How often do you come across black gingham print baking cups? Or orange? Or blue?

You know… I didn’t even need any more baking cups. Like for the next couple of years … I’m good.

IMG_6214

But, then there’s these. I mean how cute can you get?

It’s funny – right before I found them I was wanting to make some popcorn bucket cupcakes, but figured I would have to make my own wrappers because I knew I would never find any with stripes. So instead I made these flat brownie popcorn bags. Then, right after making them, voila – perfect little cups.

And now, I can’t bring myself to even bake in them. They’re so cute I don’t want to be without them. I just want to look at them. Is that weird?

Don’t answer that.

IMG_6280

And the cute little poem doesn’t hurt either.

IMG_6235

More baking cups. These, like the striped ones stand up on their own. You can place them right on a baking sheet and go.

However, I haven’t used these yet either. I have a problem.

IMG_6263

I worked my way through all the sections of the site and couldn’t leave without having these tapes and twine in my life.

IMG_6238

And look at these cute little twist ties in pink, purple and tiny hearts.

Adorable.

But they don’t hold a candle to these…

IMG_6240

Dying over here. Plus, they’re kinda perfect for packaging cake pops.

IMG_6224

You can even make your drinks look cute. Love these straws.

If you want to see them in action, check out how good they look with Tartelette’s ice cream sandwiches. Not that her pictures aren’t already perfection.

IMG_6286

And look, a button mold.

I had to have one of these, too. You know – just in case I ever want to make my own candy button display like this one.

IMG_6288

P.S. – I may or may not have also purchased these not exactly kid friendly candies. But, if I did – the website made me do that, too.

Want to pick out your own stuff?

  1. OMG Bake It Pretty is AWESOME. Such cute stuff! I have an addiction to digital graphics and cupcake sprinkles. And cupcake toppers. And cupcake towers. I need some serious help! :)

  2. Scrap booking supplies. Wish I had more time to use them!

  3. I can’t stop myself from buying fresh strawberries right now. They just look gorgeous! And when they start to get close to going bad, I turn them into popsicles.

I love your blog! Great pictures!

  4. These things are sooo cute! Especially the baking cups with all the different pattens.

I love buying cookie cutters in every size and form!!!

  5. I love good sales, but my biggest downfall is Scrapbooking supplies – anything scrapbooking.

  6. Bargains! No matter what it is! I think I have to have one in every color!!

  7. Hi Bakerella!

I can’t stop buying sprinkles! I love them in any colour or shape!

The recipe on the bottom of the Swedish Baking Cups (Kalas Form = Party cups) is a recipe for plum muffins. Whisk 100grams of melted, colled down butter with 2 dl of sugar. Add to eggs while whisking. Mix in 1,5 dl of creme fraiche and 3,5 dl of all-purpose flour (which is mixed together with 2 ts of baking powder and 1 ts of cardamum). Split, remove stone and dice the plums. Mix plums into dough. Divide the dough over the baking cups. Put a little pearl sugar on top of the dough, and bake the muffins for 12 minutes in a oven at 225 degrees Celsius.

Now you just have to transform the measurements into US standards.

Have a nice day! Greetings from a Dutch expat living in Norway!

  8. I can’t stop buying artwork for my new house!

  9. I just don’t think it will be possible for me to live without those adorable polka-dotted baking cups!

  10. Oops, forgot to say what I buy…chocolate molds. I hate them. They never work for me, so I never use them, but every time I go to my local candy supply I buy at least 1.

  11. I love these cups. I also buy them in every color and shape. I just can’t stop. they are so cute. My other weakness is sprinkles. I have enough to last me the rest of my life.

At the moment I am buying annuals for my outdoor pots and some perennials for the flower beds. And a couple hanging baskets too. And I love house plants – they always make a home so much more alive.

  14. I cannot stop myself from buying books. I am obsessed! I probably have at least 12 books sitting on my shelf waiting to be started!

  15. Old-fashioned cookie molds from http://www.houseonthehill.net – but these muffin papers may just beat them out!!!

  17. I can’t stop buying antique cookbooks! So much so that I have bought a few (okay, about 5) duplicate books that I already owned. It’s amazing how many different things used to be made from the same 5 or 6 basic ingredients: Milk, eggs, bread, cheese, butter. Limitless possibilities, it seems!

  18. I totally understand why the TEACUPCAKES are sold out! I mean these would fit in perfectly with the Alice in Wonderland theme bridal shower I am throwing for my future sister-in-law.

Other things I need now or I will die (ok, not really..but you know what I mean):

Cupcake Mints (say what?!? I don’t even know what this means, but I like it)

Best Mum Toast Stamp (guess what british grandmother of mine, this has you written all over it…literally)

Pinkberry Fuchsia Stitched Suitcases Set (toooooo cute)

Mustache Lolly Mold (this would be great at the next party I throw)

Fortunately, I live in a small town without a bookstore, so I don’t see them all the time… so far I’ve been able to prevent myself from looking online, too. Takes a lot of willpower! :)

  86. After completing the Wilton Cake Decorating 4 Courses, I can’t stop buying cake stands – I’m running out of space!

  117. Lately, my obsession is sugars, sanding, colored, and vinegars, expensive and over priced but oh so heavenly good, and oils, grapeseed, olive oils, it’s tough to justify the cost and if my husband really paid attention to the prices of them he would golf 18 everyday.

  118. I’m loving the cookie cutters that are used to make a two cookies one with a hole in the middle and sandwiching jelly in between. So fun.

    Cabin Fever in Vermont

  130. I have 4 kids, finally getting my baby girl on the 4th try :o) It is my two middle children, both boys, that get me in trouble with shopping. I can’t take them down the baking aisle at any store…muffins, cupcakes, brownies, etc. And if there are any cupcake liners that are anything but white, they insist that we need them!

  131. I can’t stop buying baking supplies!! I have a problem!!

  132. I can’t stop myself from buying…baking supplies. I never know when I’m going to get the urge to bake, and like to have the standards in stock: butter, flour, eggs, sugar, etc. Sometimes I forget what I already have in stock and then buy stuff because it’s on sale. Right now I have about 8 bags of confectioner’s sugar!

  136. Oh wow! These are all amazing! I can’t stop myself from buying the cupcake liners, the twist ties, sprinkles, EVERYTHING! Everything is amazingly fun!!

  137. Is there any other way to bake it other than to bake it pretty? I think not!! And with all these wonderful options to choose from, baking it pretty will have to continue to occur out of my kitchen if I’m blessed enough to win!

  138. My weaknesses are clothes for my little guy – he is so stinkin’ cute, I can’t help but play dress up. Cookbooks…especially dessert cookbooks are another. I have a double book case (10 shelves!!) that is *packed* with them.

  139. So freakin’ cute! I can’t stop myself from buying clothes, it just always seems like I have to have more.

  140. You make such cute stuff…will you be my new best friend? :)

  141. I can’t stop myself from buying Stamps. No, not postage stamps, but decorative rubber stamps. I’m online constantly buying and ordering. I hit the stamp stores and can’t leave with any or just one for that matter!

  142. Really? You have to do this on a Monday? Not only is it cold and rainy here, but we had “the talk” about reducing spending this past weekend…sigh…you’re killing me. I want every photo.

I can’t stop buying serving dishes. I am a hound. I *need* each and every one…even if our home is not now big enough to entertain to that capacity….but it will be one day…espcially if I reduce my spending. (Yes, dear.)

  143. What can I not stop buying? Can *everything* be my answer? If I have to narrow it down at all, I’ll say clothes. I seriously have a problem. In fact, I think I’m about to put myself through some kind of shopping detox. Winning this contest would be a perfect way for me to get my fix, without spending any money! Whoo Hoo!

  144. Gift wrap items. Especially after Christmas when its all on sale. Pretty rolls of paper, ribbon, bows, bow making material, tissue paper, glittery gift bags, gift tags…. all of it. Thank goodness for the spare bedroom but that closet is full!!!

  145. when it comes to baking stuff i can’t stop buying colored sprinkles! I won’t be able to stop until I have every color and shape made!!!
As for non-baking stuff, I’m a addicted to buying books. I can’t even read them as fast as I buy them. It’s a problem.

  146. I can’t help buying cookbooks and baking related items. So this contest might just add to my problem :)

  151. I can’t stop myself from buying peeps. I’m already longing for the next peep friendly holiday!

  152. Gasp! So many adorable things and such a generous giveaway. Let’s see … I’m a sucker for fabulous high heels. Even if I already have that color, don’t have anything to wear them with (yet), or I have been going through a casual stint in my dressing habits lately. And if I see an adorable reusable bag with a cute or clever message, it’s pretty much impossible for me to pass it up. My latest find was at a little shop in Santa Fe, where I found this Michelle Obama bag. She is wearing a red dress, red heels and pearl jewelry, and she’s swinging on a swing. It was $13.50 instead of the standard $2-8, but I thought it was worth every penny. :)

  153. Cupcuke liners will be the death of me. Also, Matilda Jane clothing for my 2 little girls. I want it all!!

  154. Antiques, its hard for me to go to an estate auction and not buy something, love to decorate my home and everytime I say I would like that, my husband always says, “and what are you going to do with that” don’t worry, you have 10 hammers and I don’t ask why you always need another one.

  155. Chocolate!!

  156. I love everything having to do with cupcakes and baked goods. That website is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Bakerella you are awesome too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  157. I have a major sweet tooth so I have a hard time staying away from candy. And I love breaking in books, so I can’t even walk into a book store unless I have money to spare…

As far as something that I can’t stop myself from buying? i have a serious obsession with chapstick and lipgloss. I seriously need a 12 step program! ha ha I have tubes EVERYWHERE.

  161. You think you’re weird? I like to buy felt. Acrylic, wool blend, 100% wool. Yes, I use it in my craft (like you’ll use your goodies in your craft), but I admittedly can’t resist it wherever I go, adding to my stash. I even make sweets (non-edible of course) out of it.

  163. Oh. My. Goodness. I’m totally buying the striped cupcake wrappers, animal print wrappers, polka dots….So MANY things!!!!

  164. i love buying things in ANTICIPATION…like, I bought cute cupcake paper baking cups for upcoming holidays, baby clothes for future baby showers and ribbon, string and scrap-booking paper for un-decided projects and embellishing. I just love getting things ready! =)

  165. I love to buy makeup, isn’t that bad? =)

  166. Clothes and Books! I have piles of both!

  167. I found out that my cousin is expecting a little baby boy. Now whenever I see a cute little outfit or something for him I cannot resist. : )

  168. My main addiction is books, specifically romance books, specifically paranormal romance books! I read like a maniac so I have to have a stack always waiting. I just finished everything I had over the weekend, and I’m already jonesin’!

But kitchen stuff is a very close second. There are so many gorgeous things – tableware, bakeware, cookware…. you name it, I want it! Doesn’t really go well with my secret desire to be a minimalist, does it?

  169. Thanks for the post, I’ve been searching high and low for twistie ties, but these are MUCH cuter than the plain white ones!! I can’t stop buying books… they are taking over my apartment! Newest addiction: cookie decorating books. :)

  170. I can’t stop buying make-up. Everytime a new product or collection comes out I just have to have it. I try to limit myself, but even so, I have way to much, lol.

  171. Oh wow.. I don’t even know what to decide on.. the little edible flowers are adorable.. or the molds.. or the cupcake holders.. oh the cupcake holders..!

  172. My first trip to the Bake it Pretty website was out of control. I think I probably bought 500 different muffin liners. I couldn’t stop myself! Do I see myself making 500 cupcakes in the future? Better to be prepared, right? Haha! I love everything on that site though. You can get pretty much anything you ever thought you’d need to create adorable desserts.

  173. The site looks like a great one, can’t wait to look around! I have way too many cookbooks, and retro pottery from the ’50s.

  174. I can’t get enough of candles or pictures. Of course I’m quite obsessed with anything that has to do with baking. Mostly cake decorating. My wish list has to be over a mile long!

  175. I’ve never made a lollipop in my life, but I would if I had these.

  176. I’m pretty frugal (totally cheap actually) but I’m a total sucker for craft supplies for me and the kids. I don’t think we’ll ever use up all the stuff we’ve got and I somehow still end up getting more.

  177. I love the Happy Baker tags, and the whimsy trim, and the berry baskets, and the…I could go on and on!!

  178. ooh- how cute!
Anytime I’m on a fabric site, I always have to pick up some type of ribbon/trim- I always see something new, what else can I do?

  179. the button molds. i’ve been coveting them for AGES. every day, i go look at them and think how badly i want to make them. mine won’t be nearly as pretty, but i NEED them. very badly. super duper very badly.

and those gingham orange cupcake cups? THEY ARE MINE. i already have them purchased for a precious baby’s first birthday party–colors are robins egg blue and, what else..orange!

  186. These are really fantastic – I am picking them up as early birthday gifts for all my friends. Love them!

  187. GAH! I love those little popcorn buckets and the “I <3 chocolate" twist ties are adorable. What a great find.

  188. baking cups…my weakness is baking cups. my husband thinks I’m crazy.

  189. okay… now I am hungry and in the mood to bake. I love the cupcake papers… so cute!

Thanks for sharing this site with us, I had never seen it before.

  190. Yarn. The three wicker baskets and hope chest full may indicate that I have a problem…

  191. I am in love!!!!!

  192. Cookie cutters! I can’t wait to check out their site.

  193. I compulsively buy crafting materials, even when I specifically don’t need them or have a craft in mind…I’ll just use them some day :)

  194. I can’t stop buying pork rinds or a cup of Starbuck’s coffee. Not together though.
And the candy cigarettes? I remember puffing away on those, the powdered sugar or cornstarch or whatever they used to make “smoke”…I got in big trouble in kindergarten for bringing in a plastic cigarette case filled with chocolate cigarettes and passing them out to my friends like some sort of 40’s movie star. Can you tell my dad smoked??? Gotta love the 70’s.

  195. I am another person who cannot walk past adorable cupcake liners or cake pans! I have a pantry stuffed with all sorts of lines and pans, but I LOVE to get new ones!!!

I totally agree with you about the black gingham liners, too…I HAVE to have them!

  196. Hmmm….there are a couple of things. The first is bags & totes. Not like purses, but decorative bags & totes in all differents sizes and styles. The other – and this one drives my husband crazy – is cookbooks and cooking magazines. LOVE ’em – have a cabinet full – so many it’s even starting to drive me a little crazy….
