I’ve been in spring break mode lately. You might have noticed since I didn’t bake last weekend. I think it’s because I recently went on a vacation which I haven’t done in a couple of years and it felt awesome to just relax and do nothing. And now being back home I can’t stop enjoying the warmth that’s finally taking over. Spring is probably my favorite time of the year. Unfortunately, in the south, you only have about seven minutes to enjoy the season before the hot and humid heat of summer takes over. Okay, okay – I’m exaggerating a little. It probably lasts eleven minutes. ; ) So you’ve got to enjoy all of them while they last. And I’m trying.

I live in South FL and we like to travel up to Orlando for weekend getaways. We enjoy going to Universal Studios since the power pass is inexpensive and we save on food in the park with our AAA card. I love mini-vacations that start on a Thursday and end on Sunday, and since I live in SoCal I’ve had many happy times getting away to Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Sonoma Valley, San Diego; but my all-time favorite place would be Carmel – and best of all, they’re all by the Pacific Ocean! It’s always great to have a change of scenery, eat different cuisines and indulge in desserts (yay!), maybe shop, see a play or concert, and to definitely r-e-l-a-x mentally and recharge until the next mini-vacation.
