I’ve been in spring break mode lately. You might have noticed since I didn’t bake last weekend. I think it’s because I recently went on a vacation which I haven’t done in a couple of years and it felt awesome to just relax and do nothing. And now being back home I can’t stop enjoying the warmth that’s finally taking over. Spring is probably my favorite time of the year. Unfortunately, in the south, you only have about seven minutes to enjoy the season before the hot and humid heat of summer takes over. Okay, okay – I’m exaggerating a little. It probably lasts eleven minutes. ; ) So you’ve got to enjoy all of them while they last. And I’m trying.

My favorite vacation spot would have to be Maui, Hawaii (although I’ve only gotten there once for our honeymoon 10 years ago); up next would have to be the Jersey Beaches (they are only a short drive for us for much more affordable)!! All of the colors are wonderful ~ and I would just LOVE to have a mixer like this (we still have the old fashioned kind) ~ I’ll have to pick Pink as it’s my daughter’s favorite color (since we’ll be baking together)! Favourite destination for a Spring holiday has to be Rome, so romantic and so much to see. Favourite thing to do there is to sit and wonder at the beautiful Trevi Fountain or to take in the view of the city from the Spanish Steps. My colour choice is Pistachio.

My favorite place to go on vacation was the cabin my grandparents had in Hendersonville, NC. It was in the mountains, and there were acres of trails through the woods, and creeks to swim in, and lots of family. I loved it.
