Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

I do have a favorite cake – an old family recipe that we’ve never given a name, so I will describe it instead. :)
It’s a tri-layer white cake with banana-infused Bavarian cream between the layers (a closely-guarded recipe in itself!). The entire outside is covered with a vanilla 7-minute frosting, then coated in warm (liquid) dark chocolate. You immediately place the cake in the refrigerator in order for the dark chocolate to form a “shell” on the outside of the cake. This recipe has been passed down through many generations. Everyone always asks for this on birthdays!

It’s a chocolate sheet cake with lots of nuts and chocolate drizzle ontop, while my grandma is “the Cook” of the family, he created this heavenly masterpeice himself. . It was made by scratch and was most definitely the first thing I looked for at every holliday meal. I’ll be making it since his passing, in memory of my granpi!
