Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

before I went dairy-free: cold, moist, decadent chocolate cake with whipped chocolate frosting (or whipped cream frosting..YUM) paired with a huge glass of icy cold milk -drool-
now: a light fluffy slice of angel food cake topped with melted, once-frozen berries paired with a glass of soy milk -drool-

First off I LOVE Petunia Pickle Bottom – the bags are AMAZING, and I’ve wanted one of those diaper bags for years now. My favorite kind of cake is a good moist from scratch carrot – I’d celebrate with one for sure if I won this bag – after someone revived me because I might faint upon finding out that I’d one. :-)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE carrot cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes (www.nothingbundtcakes.com) in Las Vegas. All of their cakes are to die for, but I love the carrot. They even make little mini bundt cakes which reminds me of YOU bakerella, and all of the mini yummies you make. (I just made your mini cheesecake 2 nights ago, they were awesome!) Did I mention I love you bakerella!!!

My fav cake would have to be the dark chocolate triple layer with chocolate frosting cake that is decorated around the edge in squares of caramilk chocolate bar that I received over a decade ago for my birthday. This cake was generously made for me by a very wonderful woman whose children I use to watch.
Still remember the taste and texture of this cake to this day!!

I’m a simple person, so my favorite kind of cake is just a good ol’ pound cake. It’s so versatile, so if I am craving a specific flavor I could easily add some strawberry jam or ice cream to it to satisfy that tasty itch.

Just to be different, for a few birthdays I asked my mom for Fruit Cocktail Cake. Along with the regular ingrediants, the fruit cocktail is pulverized during mixing; egg whites whipped till firm then folded in creating an airy, sweet, dark cake. Then it’s topped with brown sugar, and drizzled with a sweet glaze while warm so that it seeps into the cake. YUM!! I think I need to go make one now!
