Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

White chocolate with lemon raspberry buttercream!
All of my family likes a moist chocolate cake, even a box mix, baked in three layers so there is more room for my fudgy chocolate frosting. My choice, I’d add lots of chopped nuts. Mmmmm!

I think my favorite cake I’ve ever made is a “French Style Yogurt Cake with Lemon” according to the website. I found it in Molly Wizenberg’s book: A Homemade Life.
Soooo delicious. There’s a bit of lemon zest in the cake itself, which is nice. But then there’s a lemony syrup you put on when it’s still really warm, and then a glaze when it’s cooled down. It’s moist and lemony and heavenly. Love me some lemon.

Incidentally, my favorite cake is the red velvet cake. The taste (when prepared correctly) is out of this world. There is nothing like cutting the first slice…..out of the white covered cake appears the beautiful deep red brilliance. Like love itself, it is a welcoming surprise.

Lemon Cheese Cake. I haven’t a clue why it’s called Lemon Cheese, because it doesn’t have a bit of cheese in it. I first discovered it in a family run bakery on Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta, GA called Rhodes Bakery. It is three white layers with white mountain frosting on the sides. The top and filling between layers is lemon curd. My mother always served it at Easter.
