Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

I love Angel Food Cake – it’s so light and airy by itself or you can slice into thirds and frost each layer with a mix of cool whip, crushed pineapple and lay fresh blueberries, raspberries on top. It’s a show stopper! Gorgeous!

Wegman’s (the grocery store near us) makes a really fabulous “Ultimate Chocolate Cake.” I know what you’re thinking…cake from a grocery store? But Wegman’s has an exceptional bakery and this from-scratch cook has no qualms about saying it’s the best. :) I’ve been trying to recreate it at home….
Any cake with coconut is my fave, but I love scrumptious, moist carrot cake with cream cheese icing!

My favorite cake is strawberry. My mom used to fix a strawberry cake for my birthday each year. It is a recipe she got from my grandma (who got it from my great grandma). I just made it for my daughter’s 2nd birthday party (yesterday). :-)
Chocolate is without a doubt my favorite. A nice, moist, rich chocolate cake. Although, it would be challenged by my sister in laws chocolate angel food cake. Yes, that’s right. CHOCOLATE angel food. YUMMO!
Chocolate Fudge from the Cake Bible
my favorite is a cake called earthquake cake. it is delicious!
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, room temp
¼ lb butter, room temp
1 lb confectioners sugar, 3 ½ to 4 cups
Sprinkle coconut, pecans, and chocolate chips over the bottom of a sprayed or greased 9×13 pan. Prepare cake following package directions. Pour patter into prepared pan. In a small saucepan, melt the cream cheese with the butter, then stir in the powdered sugar. pour over top of cake batter. Spread topping a bit thicker at the edges. Place in preheated 350* oven and bake 40 to 50 minutes.
