Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

There’s a chocolate chip cake that I LOVE! It’s almost like a breakfast cake-has cinnamon, sugar & choc. chips on top. SOOO delicious! My fave!

Let’s see: I’m walking by the bake sale on campus. I peek over; nothing home-made. If I didn’t read some 15 cupcake blogs a day I’d think I was the last person who actually bakes from scratch. But look…there’s a lumpy white frosting on top of something in a rainbow wrapper. A few colored chips peek out around the edges where frosting meets cake…the label: Funfetti Cupcakes. It’s my last and only box-cake weakness, despite the actual trans fats in the rainbow chip icing. For that, it earns the title of my favorite cake :)
My favorite right now is the Red Velvet Cheesecake! So deliciously yummy…

Oh my Goodness that bag is as delicious as my favorite kind of cake and that is……. Red Velvet. I grew up eating Red Velvet at every Holiday, family function and Oh how I love it! I have so many memories of our family together and that wonderful cake.
Red Velvet cake was a must when we would go on vacation to Florida. The Bubble Room,on Captiva Island, has the Worlds best Red Velvet, Oh that rich Red Cake and Sweet Cream cheese Icing it just makes your mouth melt. The pieces there are a quarter of the cake and I remember us eating our meal and walking out with a massive piece of cake and then as tradition would be we would be out our cake for breakfast. :) What an exciting time as a kid getting to eat cake for breakfast and we still do it to this day.
With this bag being called Red Velvet, every time I would carry it it would make me think of these wonderful memories with my family and what a sweet thing that would be as I just had my first baby who also, will enjoy Red Velvet cake at every Holiday and family function just like we did growing up. I’m always torn with cake flavors. Chocolate always ranks at the top, but it is often at war with almond scented yellow cake with raspberry creme mousse filling.

I usually frost it with meringue frosting colored antique bakery blue, with a hint of lemon juice. I use it for cucpakes and regular sized birthday cakes. I’m embarrassed to say this, but I LOVE the funfetti frosting. You know, the little colored miniature chips that seem to be made from about 70% wax. Yeah…whenever I get my choice for b-day cake, I still choose that. And, I’ll be 33 this year! I also love chocolate ganache. Any cake made with either of those two things works for me.
