the last time I ate a real big piece of birthdaycake was on my own birthday last year in september. it was a big sacher torte cake with apricot jam between the two rich chocolate cake layers, coated in dark chocolate.
this year it will be bigger, with tiers, fondant and cherry blossoms from fondant I think. because I am going to be educated to become a patissier. LOVE.

I celebrated Valentine’s Day by baking a double batch of cupcakes (both chocolate and white, from scratch) and decorating them in bright pink and white frosting. I was going for baby pink, but the color I ended up with was cute and fun, anyway. :D

The last time I celebrated with cake was the first time I made cake pops, inspired by you of course! I made them for my sister (a nurse) and the rest of the staff working nights at the hospital here! I made cupcakes a few weeks ago, just because. I intended to make high-hat cupcakes, but ran out of time, so they were just 7-minute frosting cupcakes. I love these cake stands, they remind me of my mom, anytime she saw something like this at the antique store, she had to have it.
My friend Sarah’s baby shower! We had a baby bird theme – I made mini cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and tiny chocolate nests with a mini egg inside sitting on top!

A friend of mine wanted a special cake for his store being open for 10 years, so I made a Vanilla Bean Cake with lemon custard filling and it looked like an airbrush of blue and yellows with yellow tint of Butter cream.. it was so much fun to make and I was so happy to be a part of his amazing day!!
