Take a look at these beautiful cake stands. That is if you can see past the skyline of sweets. I absolutely love this photo. Love it. I wish I could enlarge it and wallpaper my kitchen with it. This photo and the rest in this post (taken by Ashley Rose Photography) are photos of cakes from my friend Melody’s shop, My Sweet & Saucy. We’ve been internet buds from way back when I had a blogspot.com address. And since then, she’s gone from blogger herself, to superstar baker, making the most gorgeous cakes and working with the likes of Tori Spelling, Miley Cyrus and more. I just wish she wasn’t all the way in California. Actually, it’s a good thing I’m not in driving distance. For my waistline anyway.
Oh dear. I need a pink ruffle cake in my life.
Pronto.
Look at all these cakes. I mean pedestals. Big ones. Little ones. Tall ones. Short ones.
Melody also has an online store where you can find them all in one place.
Yes, pedestals. Like this pretty little pink one. Perfect for a petite little cake.
Or stack two and you can fill it with sweet little treats.
Wait, you mean you don’t have a large and small pink glass pedestal or a sweet glass dome?
That’s terrible. Unthinkable.
Would you like one? I mean all three pieces in the photo above?
I thought you might.
Melody is giving them away to one of my readers. Yippee! Thanks Melody!
Enter for a chance to win this dome and two pretty pink pedestals.
- Just leave a comment on this post and tell me the last occasion you celebrated with cake. Easy!
- Deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 30 at 8 pm ET. Sorry, Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
- One winner will be chosen at random* and announced sometime Wednesday evening on this post.
Good Luck!
Satisfy your sweet tooth and check out Melody’s stuff.

A baby shower last month for my cousin’s sweet baby girl who was born last week. A pink cake stand would’ve been perfect!
For my mother-in-law’s birthday at her house, and this weekend I’m making a carrot cake for my sister-in-law’s birthday. Looking forward to trying a new from-scratch recipe!
My husband was in the middle of an 8 month deployment when our 1st wedding anniversary rolled around. Our family friend that made our wedding cake offered to make us a fresh baked top tier of our cake whenever my husband came home so that we could celebrate traditionally. It was so sweet of him to do that for us! 4 months later, we were able to celebrate our 1st anniversary TOGETHER and throroughly enjoyed the cake that we never even got to eat at our own wedding. YUM!
My boyfriend’s birthday in February :) it was my first time baking an entire cake from scratch.
The last time we celebrated with cake was my Dads birthday. I made him a double chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, covered the sides with chocolate cigarillos and put chocolate honeycomb balls (called Malteasers in the UK) on the top!
I think we all slipped into sugar overload at one point!
March 20th…..it was my birthday dinner. Butterscotch and Carrot Cake. I had a piece of each.
Kid’s birthday party.
The last time I had cake was at a 5 year old’s birthday this weekend. It was very pink :)
My brother left on his mission for the LDS church to Brazil last month and we had a goodbye party for him with a cake shaped and decorated like a white shirt, tie and black name tag & slacks with a belt! Very impressive and very delicious!!!
Well, today’s Tuesday. I celebrated it by making cake balls last night! I’d love to have a cake stand for my friend’s bridal shower that I’m hosting this summer. :)

Cousin’s wedding in March 19th!
Red Velvet cake shaped like a heart for Valentine’s Day.
The last thing I celebrated with cake was a little party thanking my dad and husband for all the work they’ve done finishing our garage – it looks SO NICE and I know they worked REALLY hard, so I baked them a great chocolate cake (their favorite)… a pedestal would’ve made it an extra bonus for me! (I’m pretty sure they don’t care about how fancy it looks… but I do!)
Last week my wee man turned one! We had a little party with a lot of cake!
I had cake for my Birthday !

I made a cake for St Paddy’s day. It was layers of rainbow inside and rainbow colored smarties on the outside. It wasn’t perfection but the kids loved it and that was the goal :)
Thanks!
Those cake stands are heavenly! I think I need one.

My daughter’s first birthday!
I LOVE to bake cakes but mostly make cupcakes since I am positive they have less calories! ;). I made lemon cupcakes with strawberry frosting last night. My birthday is next week and I’m torn about what flavor of cake I will make. I’ve narrowed it down to carrot with cream cheese frosting…boring/standard but delicious. Or lemon with lemon curd and raspberry frosting. Maybe I’ll just make both!
Glad to see you posting again! I hope you are feeling well!
the last time we celebrated with cake was for my husband’s birthday on our recent trip to norway. his bestemor (grandma) baked him a traditional norweigan cake!

My little girl’s 2nd birthday!
Baby Niece’s big first birthday. Prettiest pink cake.
I made a jello poke cake a while back and took it over to a friend’s house to share. It had raspberry jello “filling” (and of course poke cakes always look best if they are white cakes, so you can see the yummy and beautifully colored dribbles all throughout the cake) and on the outside I iced it with whipped cream and put strawberries and blueberries on it (in the shape of a flag). It was so pretty, and so delicious! Yay cake!
My sister-in-law’s birthday. My mother-in-law always makes yummy cakes!
How pretty! I actually can’t remember the last time we celebrated with cake…it must have been my brother’s birthday last September (to be fair, it was a gorgeous 4-layer black forest cake with all the trimmings. It was so tall that my mother’s cake stand lid wouldn’t fit over it!). We will be having cake at my sister’s baby shower in less than a month, though, and I’d love to have one of these cake stands for it!

The last time I celebrated with cake was a couple weeks ago for International Pi Day at my grand daughter’s school. I made a sheet cake and pipied the symbol Pi on top and also made cupcakes to look like mini cherry and blueberry pies then added a ‘wise ole’ owl’ cake asking the question “Did you say Pi or Pie?” The kids really enjoyed it.
The last time my daughter and I made and celebrated with cake was for a friend’s bridal shower. Her sister asked us to make the cake. It was our first attempt at a tiered layered cake. It was yummy. White cake with white chocolate and raspberry filling, cream cheese frosting and covered in cheesecake flavored fondant and blue raspberry flavored fondant roses. :)
Our last “official” celebration with cake was on my Birthday, Dec 28th. Although I did make cupcakes last night just for fun for my kids.
Wouldn’t that be fun to use for the kids’ fancy tea parties!!!

We celebrated Monday lastnight with cupcakes (and I put some leftover cake in the fridge to make cake pops tonight!)
Love the pictures! I’m sure it is even better in real life. I would have to say the last time we celebrated with a cake was for my youngest son’s birthday in January! You see, I would be about the size of a hippo if I made cakes on a daily basis since I’m the only one that has the sweet tooth in this family.
My birthday this month!! These are beautiful!
My girls and I made a small cake that was a rainbow of colors on the inside and colored sprinkles on the outside that we took over and surprised a neighbor for her birthday. When she offered the girls a piece of cake, of course they said yes!

Last week when my Aunt was visiting! PW’s Prune cake yummm
The last time I celebrated with a cake I made was my mother-in-law’s birthday. I attempted to make a chocolate cake with caramel icing, but the cake came out too dense. I have tried and tried and tried to make cakes, even troubleshooting with my friend that is a baker, but they always come out hard as a rock and about an inch thick. It is the ONLY thing I cannot make…I bake bread, cookies, make all sort of foods, and even do pretty decent cake pops (from a MIX), but the cakes……oh how I would love to put the treats or some bacon-cheddar scones on these little pedestals for my next girlfriend brunch. It would take the sting out of the awful cake I attempted to make! At least the icing was good…
We have not had cake in a long time…but should I win…my husband will be eating cake on his birthday in May.
I celebrated this past weekend with chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and star sprinkles. Made them with my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old nephew.

The most recent “I celebrated it with cake” was on the 18th when I was accepted to a BSc in Biomedicine program…. many many (about 17) years after one traditionally would start University education and in spite of some personal set backs along the way, such as being homeless for a couple of years, being told all through childhood that I was ditzy and airheaded, severely lacking any self-confidence that such a thing would be possible…
Anyway, I celebrated with my recent favourite Vanilla Cupcakes with Blueberry Sauce and Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting (all vegan, as it happens)… http://tinyurl.com/63eao3w
