Take a look at these beautiful cake stands. That is if you can see past the skyline of sweets. I absolutely love this photo. Love it. I wish I could enlarge it and wallpaper my kitchen with it. This photo and the rest in this post (taken by Ashley Rose Photography) are photos of cakes from my friend Melody’s shop, My Sweet & Saucy. We’ve been internet buds from way back when I had a blogspot.com address. And since then, she’s gone from blogger herself, to superstar baker, making the most gorgeous cakes and working with the likes of Tori Spelling, Miley Cyrus and more. I just wish she wasn’t all the way in California. Actually, it’s a good thing I’m not in driving distance. For my waistline anyway.
Oh dear. I need a pink ruffle cake in my life.
Pronto.
Look at all these cakes. I mean pedestals. Big ones. Little ones. Tall ones. Short ones.
Melody also has an online store where you can find them all in one place.
Yes, pedestals. Like this pretty little pink one. Perfect for a petite little cake.
Or stack two and you can fill it with sweet little treats.
Wait, you mean you don’t have a large and small pink glass pedestal or a sweet glass dome?
That’s terrible. Unthinkable.
Would you like one? I mean all three pieces in the photo above?
I thought you might.
Melody is giving them away to one of my readers. Yippee! Thanks Melody!
Enter for a chance to win this dome and two pretty pink pedestals.
- Just leave a comment on this post and tell me the last occasion you celebrated with cake. Easy!

My daughters 1/2 birthday. Turning 5 1/2 is a very big deal!
My son’s birthday party which was a camoflage theme…I attempted a camo cake and it was much better in my mind than it was in person lol. The colors were not really appealing as far as food goes. Kinda like when you dye things green for St Patrick’s day and they just look like moldy or spoiled food. Not what I was going for :)
What gorgeous cakes! We had cake a few weeks ago to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I tried my hand at a vertically layered cake. Lots of fun! :)
Oh – I love her work and her pedestals!! I follow her blog religiously as I am a baker as well! Last time I celebrated with cake was a neighbor’s birthday just last week – his wife threw him a surprise party and the whole neighborhood greeted him upon coming home….and we all ate my cake! A six layer vanilla butter cake (gluten free!) with chocolate swiss meringue buttercream and poured chocolate ganache….mmmmm…caaaaaaake :)
Two weeks ago for my son for passing his hunter’s safety course.

I LOVE pedastals! This pink one is so cute. I would love to display my mini cupcakes on it.
My dog’s 8th birthday Sunday. I had a spontaneous business trip on Saturday 400 +- miles away and was unable to bake the cake. I was grateful when my 4 yr old daughter sweet talked the lady at Captian D’s out of a small chocolate cake. We put a candle on it and my precious miniature schnauzer had another borthday. I just love those retro style untra feminine stands. I wish I could find some locally…or maybe win one!

No birthdays, no holidays, no Christmas, nada. So anyday can become a celebration-with-cake day! So no waiting for specific days! But the last true celebration we had cake for was my anniversary. We had a delicious cake when we went out for dinner! Yum!

Had a charity fundraiser at work with a Super Bowl theme ..made a Packer Football Helmet cake (I’m a Viking fan)

We don’t really need an occassion at my house. My little boys and I make cakes and cupcakes almost every other day. When the start getting rowdy I usually reel them in when I say who wants to make a cake or cupcakes, or cookies. Sometimes all three :O)
I love your website and have taken many ideas for many of my parties. Glad to see you are feeling well enough to post – these photos and sweets are amazing!
Gorgeous! I love the sweets piled up in the milk glass as well! The last time I had cake was not so much a celebration – someone brought over a pound cake after my mother-in-law had a lumpectomy. We’ll have a bigger and better cake when she is cancer-free!

The last occasion I celebrated with cake was when my friend moved to Virigina, I brought a cake down the first time we visited his apartment. It actually fell apart on the ride because I was too patient to let it cool before I stacked it.

My younger set of twins’ birthday family party. They requested a Penn State Football-Hello Kitty party (probably the first ever). That’s what happens when you have boy-girl twins (3 yrs old)! My identical girls are much easier for parties (5yrs old).
Baked my boyfriend’s birthday cake on March 16th :)
I made a dark chocolate gluten-free birthday cake for my hubby one month ago, and he didn’t feel one bit deprived.
This table arrangement is just so subtle yet sweet, each pedestal helps the treats stand on their own and look even more amazing than if on a normal platter!
Amazing, wish I lived in CA so I could try some of these treats and sweets!

My mom’s birthday(with cake balls!) the beginning of March!
We celebrated my Mom’s birthday with cake last week and it was a delightful evening. Unfortunately for me, I live 2,000 miles away from the rest of my family, so I was relegated to WATCHING everyone else eat the cake via Skype. Highly unsatisfying.
Made cupcakes over the weekend for a family get together. These stands would be perfect for my daughters upcoming 4th birthday!!!
I celebrate everything with cake… doesn’t everybody?!
Hmmm… the last thing I celebrated was… the weekend! :-D While that may not need a pedestal, there are other celebrations in my life that do.
