Pretty Pedestals

1

Take a look at these beautiful cake stands. That is if you can see past the skyline of sweets. I absolutely love this photo. Love it. I wish I could enlarge it and wallpaper my kitchen with it. This photo and the rest in this post (taken by Ashley Rose Photography) are photos of cakes from my friend Melody’s shop, My Sweet & Saucy. We’ve been internet buds from way back when I had a blogspot.com address. And since then, she’s gone from blogger herself, to superstar baker, making the most gorgeous cakes and working with the likes of Tori Spelling, Miley Cyrus and more. I just wish she wasn’t all the way in California. Actually, it’s a good thing I’m not in driving distance. For my waistline anyway.

5z

Oh dear. I need a pink ruffle cake in my life.

Pronto.

5

Look at all these cakes. I mean pedestals. Big ones. Little ones. Tall ones. Short ones.

Melody also has an online store where you can find them all in one place.

3

Yes, pedestals. Like this pretty little pink one. Perfect for a petite little cake.

6

Or stack two and you can fill it with sweet little treats.

2

Wait, you mean you don’t have a large and small pink glass pedestal or a sweet glass dome?

That’s terrible. Unthinkable.

Would you like one? I mean all three pieces in the photo above?

I thought you might.

Melody is giving them away to one of my readers. Yippee! Thanks Melody!

Enter for a chance to win this dome and two pretty pink pedestals.

  • Just leave a comment on this post and tell me the last occasion you celebrated with cake. Easy!
  • Deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 30 at 8 pm ET. Sorry, Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
  • One winner will be chosen at random* and announced sometime Wednesday evening on this post.

Good Luck!

Satisfy your sweet tooth and check out Melody’s stuff.

  65. The last time i celebrated with cake. Hmmmm let me think. when was the last time? oh Yes, My moms birthday. It was my moms birthday and usually i buy a cake from Publix ( i know what your thinknig but please read on) I was just getting into the baking scene. see i used to burn everything i cooked, which is why i didn’t get into cooking/baking until i was in my late 20’s when I gained a lil patience hehe. So i decided I wanted to bake a beautiful cake for my mom for her birthday. Well you name it everything went wrong. the cake came out flat, the icing came out runny and it was a castrophy. With all the time trying to fix everything and find solutions i had run out of time to get a new one. Then the next thing i know the doorbell rings, Oh shoot it’s my mother i thought. I had no other choice than to put the cake in it’s rightful place and go on with the show. I let her in and then proceeded to let the rest of the family in. We had a nice dinner and it was time for cake. I brought out my runny cake and my mom cried. She was soooo surprised that I attempted to make her her own special cake. She felt Hononred. See i’m a perfectionist. If i’m going to do something i want it to look preety & perfect, even if it’s my first time. My mom loved the cake so much that she ate pretty much all of it. Lesson learned, it’s the thoguht that counts when birthdays and family. yes it might not turn out the best way the first time but try try try again.

  69. Although we are big dessert eaters, the last time we actually celebrated with a cake was my birthday last month. My son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I now save cakes for special occasions, and make more of a production out of them than previously. The actual cake and presentation has to be very special since it is now a rare treat for him.
I should add that I now serve him cake pops!!! They are much easier to estimate the carb count, and he is thrilled with cake on a stick!!!!
