Take a look at these beautiful cake stands. That is if you can see past the skyline of sweets. I absolutely love this photo. Love it. I wish I could enlarge it and wallpaper my kitchen with it. This photo and the rest in this post (taken by Ashley Rose Photography) are photos of cakes from my friend Melody’s shop, My Sweet & Saucy. We’ve been internet buds from way back when I had a blogspot.com address. And since then, she’s gone from blogger herself, to superstar baker, making the most gorgeous cakes and working with the likes of Tori Spelling, Miley Cyrus and more. I just wish she wasn’t all the way in California. Actually, it’s a good thing I’m not in driving distance. For my waistline anyway.
Oh dear. I need a pink ruffle cake in my life.
Pronto.
Look at all these cakes. I mean pedestals. Big ones. Little ones. Tall ones. Short ones.
Melody also has an online store where you can find them all in one place.
Yes, pedestals. Like this pretty little pink one. Perfect for a petite little cake.
Or stack two and you can fill it with sweet little treats.
Wait, you mean you don’t have a large and small pink glass pedestal or a sweet glass dome?
That’s terrible. Unthinkable.
Would you like one? I mean all three pieces in the photo above?
I thought you might.
Melody is giving them away to one of my readers. Yippee! Thanks Melody!
Enter for a chance to win this dome and two pretty pink pedestals.
- Just leave a comment on this post and tell me the last occasion you celebrated with cake. Easy!

hello, it would be great if i win these. but i do not know if i can submit because i live in the netherlands. my daughter just gave me your website. she is completely into baking cakes and cookies and cupcakes. it started as therapie for her for excersizing the muscles in her hands and arms, but now she loves to create beautiful decorated cakes. so for her it would be great to have these stands to show her makings to the family before they eat it. and i also want to congratulate you with your book in Dutch. my daughter loves it!!(also the english version) greets from far away holland

Well the cake baked but when I tipped it out parts of the cake stuck. No problem – we can just add them and no will know. Imagine my surprise when the cake actually split in two!!!! So instead of a pizza cake, he got lovely cake balls! Thanks for showing me how to make them!!! It was a hit!
Well i make cakes for people all the time. My four children always ask if it’s for them, but usually it’s sent away and they don’t get to enjoy. Fortunately we do get to see him every 2 – 3 weeks. What better way to celebrate our family get together with his sister and us each time, by baking a chocolate cake to be inhaled by this young man!
Three cakes in the last three weeks! One was for hubby’s birthday, one for my cake decorating class’ finale (www.apartystyle.blogspot.com) and one yesterday for some company. Oye! And I do NOT do this for a living! Needless to say, a brief diet of sweets is needed.
We (my sweet hubby and I) just yesterday with chocolate cake, no icing and vanilla icecream. Why, just because he wanted some. I decorate cakes for others all the time but he doesn’t get any so just for him, I baked a cake. He’s worth it!!

My husband has been working every day since Feb 28, no days off. To keep his spirits up and the guys he works with, they get a cake on Saturdays. I use the cake mix recipe for a 14 layer cake. The first week it was only 9 layers, ran out of frosting and didn’t have the supplies to make more. The next week I tried a family recipe for chocolate cake. The tall layer cake was requested for the rest of the month. Thanks for the great recipe! Thanks to you I have a crew of happy electricians!

My friend’s eighteenth birthday!
@ell, now, THIS is an occasion! It would be silly to bribe the great and powerful random number generator with cake, so I’ll just suffice it to say that winning this beauty is slim. I’ll play along anyway. I make my hubby an “I love you cake” during the months where there are no holidays we celebrate. In a sense, we eat cake every month…::giggle::
(maybe bribing with cookies?)
Our dog Togo’s 1st birthday. Stacked different sized dog biscuits to make “cake!” I’m not sure who enjoyed the occasion more, Togo or the kids!
Wow, this is embarrassing, but my daughter’s birthday in SEPTEMBER!!! I love making cakes, but it’s seriously been that long! In my defense, my twins were born 8 weeks early in November & were in the NICU for 8 weeks. Since then, well, I’ve had twins. Te he he. But now that I’ve noticed it, it’s time to remedy this atrocity. Off to browse cake recipes.
