Pretty Pedestals

1

Take a look at these beautiful cake stands. That is if you can see past the skyline of sweets. I absolutely love this photo. Love it. I wish I could enlarge it and wallpaper my kitchen with it. This photo and the rest in this post (taken by Ashley Rose Photography) are photos of cakes from my friend Melody’s shop, My Sweet & Saucy. We’ve been internet buds from way back when I had a blogspot.com address. And since then, she’s gone from blogger herself, to superstar baker, making the most gorgeous cakes and working with the likes of Tori Spelling, Miley Cyrus and more. I just wish she wasn’t all the way in California. Actually, it’s a good thing I’m not in driving distance. For my waistline anyway.

5z

Oh dear. I need a pink ruffle cake in my life.

Pronto.

5

Look at all these cakes. I mean pedestals. Big ones. Little ones. Tall ones. Short ones.

Melody also has an online store where you can find them all in one place.

3

Yes, pedestals. Like this pretty little pink one. Perfect for a petite little cake.

6

Or stack two and you can fill it with sweet little treats.

2

Wait, you mean you don’t have a large and small pink glass pedestal or a sweet glass dome?

That’s terrible. Unthinkable.

Would you like one? I mean all three pieces in the photo above?

I thought you might.

Melody is giving them away to one of my readers. Yippee! Thanks Melody!

Enter for a chance to win this dome and two pretty pink pedestals.

  • Just leave a comment on this post and tell me the last occasion you celebrated with cake. Easy!
  • Deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 30 at 8 pm ET. Sorry, Time’s Up! Winner announced below.
  • One winner will be chosen at random* and announced sometime Wednesday evening on this post.

Good Luck!

Satisfy your sweet tooth and check out Melody’s stuff.

  184. on my birthday last Saturday :)

  185. My son’s 9th Birthday! Birthday cake is the best :)

  186. My Grammie’s 89th birthday was earlier this month. We had marble cake with buttercream. It was so yummy! My next cake will be for Easter. This would be perfect.

  187. I celebrated Monday night at home with cupcakes!

  188. My friends house warming party!

  189. We just celebrated last week with my son’s 5th birthday! A Mario Kart birthday cake, at that! And today I’ll be decorating a beautiful spring cake for a cake stall tomorrow!

  190. I made a cake for my friend’s 18th birthday and we ate it in the restaurant in Eltham Palace (a HUGE, beautiful house in London where the James Franco Gucci ad was shot) and the head chef somehow ate a piece and said it was lovely! I was ecstatic!

  191. My husband’s birthday! But I bought Publix cake because he would prefer that to homemade. A Publix cake would still look great on a ruffled cake stand though!

  192. Last occasion was my birthday but I don’t need an occasion to make or eat cake!!

Love, love the stands and cakes.

  193. My nephew’s birthday…I made a white cake with a yellow crown on top for his Where the Wild things are themed party

  194. I celebrated my four year anniversary with my gorgeous and lovely manfriend, and apple cake…and I actually thought to myself: this cake would look so much prettier on one of those fancy pedestals.

LOVE the black scalloped edge one in Melody’s shop.

Btw, if you’re not willing to ship to NZ…then I guess that serves me right for living here :P Thanks for the pedestal eye candy anyhow!

  195. For a friends baby’s 1st birthday this past Saturday! I made the cake myself…it was a 2 tier safari theme and it came out super cute!! :-D

  196. LOVE that glass dome – GORGEOUS.
Last cake celebration – ? Christmas (but we’ve had plenty of cakes since then – just because we can!!)

  197. I celebrated the first day of Spring with cake! It was a hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting. And it was delicious.

  198. A few weeks ago when I had to make our company’s monthly birthday cakes for all the employees celebrating theirs in March .. it was rather tasty if I do say so myself .. ;D

  199. My Mum made our favourite cupcakes last week for my brother’s engagement! We love all things cake and Mum’s baking would look fabulous on such pretty stands!

  200. A friend’s birthday…as I never turn down cake! Hope you are doing better. You’re in my thoughts and prayers! Take care!
