I bought these little guys thinking I might use them for some kind of Easter cupcakes. I mean, they are cute in a marshmallowy sugar kinda way.
And look how much cuter they are on sticks. (couldn’t resist.)
But, then as they lay in the kitchen next to my handy dandy edible ink pens
, I thought about something else I could do with them. Something a little less Easter, and potentially a lot more fun.
So I grabbed my red and black pens, turned these little guys over on their tummies and went to town. Oh, and I pinched their ears, too.
Don’t laugh. I was bored.

Pikachus or in this case … Peep-achus!
I don’t think I can ever look at Peeps the same way again.
FYI… Pikachu is part of the Pokémon franchise owned by Nintendo. They’re not something I know a whole lot about, but they were on my mind because I had just recently bought some Pokémon stuff for my friend’s daughter who has been collecting these things for awhile.
See what I mean. There are like hundreds of these strange little creatures that belong to the Pokémon family, but Pikachu is the only one I know of by name and as you can see, pretty conducive to a Peep makeover. I couldn’t wait to surprise her with them.
She squealed when they saw them and her little brother was pretty excited, too. Just seeing them smile makes me happy. Totally worth it.
Okay, so I mentioned Nintendo earlier for a reason. Have any of you ever played the Nintendo DS
? Because my niece got one for Christmas along with the Super Mario Bros.
game and I have become a-d-d-d-ddddicted to it. She’ll come over to stay sometimes and when I pick her up, I’m like… “Sweetie, do you want to bring your Nintendo?” and “Don’t forget the charger.” (Insert evil laugh)
We’ll sit on the sofa together and take turns. Well, she usually gets 10 turns to my one. Then, when I do get a turn, I usually die right away. But she, graciously offers to help … by taking it away from me … to show me what I did wrong! Then I wait another ten turns before I get another go. I should just buy one for myself, but, i’m scared to own it. I definitely wouldn’t get much done until I could finish World 8. Besides, it’s too much fun when we play together. Well, when I watch her play. :)
Anyway, you guys can see what I mean because I’m giving away one of these players! Yippee! (Super Mario Bros. not included.) Thank me later.

I love Malted Milk Ball Eggs. The ones that are like 2 inches big. Every sunday when i went to church I would run to the corner store after Sunday school and by a bag full of them.

I just got a new ds game over the week-end. It’s sort of a cross between Mario and Tetris/Bejeweled. It’s called “Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling adventure”. I don’t recommend it unless you’re prepared to give up your life :) it’s very addicting, hard, and fun!

I love the little egg gumballs that come in a mini egg carton. They’re kind of hard to find at times but I have such fond memories of sneaking them into church with me for Easter mass as a kid. Yum!
I loved this post because Peeps are my all-time favorite Easter candy! Except I don’t eat them right away. I let them age……get nice and crunchy and chewy. A few months later is best :)

peanut butter eggs … all time fave, that i cant get anymore, was a peanut butter egg that I believe was made by Helen Grace ,that was sold in school fundraisers back in the 70's & early 80's … ohhhh it was a sweet creamy peanut butter with salty nut pieces & crispy puffed rice cereal then coated with a rich milk chocolate !!! OOOHHHH Cadbury Mini Eggs have always been my favorite, and since they first came out in Canada- my home country- I had to have them shipped by the box fulls when I first moved to the States to school!!! I LOVE them and think that they should come out at ALL holidays,not just Easter;)

PS. I made egg cake pops this weekend, and had a really hard time with the whole dipping thing. I know that I made my eggs too big, but I think I needed to add some shortening or something to the candy melts to make them a little thinner.

The only Easter candy I can. not. resist. is the Reese’s Peanut Butter egg. It’s the perfect combination of PB and chocolate. And it’s weird, because they do other shapes – a heart at valentines, a tree at Christmas – but none of them are as good as that dang egg.

While, I love jelly beans, they don’t seem like an Easter candy to me. I think I’d have to go with with either Peeps, yellow bunnies-nothing else will do, or those little Cadbury Mini Eggs, I think they are called? They have the candy shell that I think I like better than the chocolate itself!
Cadbury Mini Eggs are by far our favorite! I say "our" because I could not leave my little buddy out. Erich is the first on I call over when you have new images up of your treats! We made chick pops for an easter egg hunt on Saturday. They were a hit! Well, today, he was there right next to me as we scrolled down to see the peeps magically transformed into Pikachu and further down what came up in front of his eyes was even more magical, the DS! Ahahha!

My favs are the Cadbury mini eggs, the ones with the hard shells. I could eat them forever!

It would have to be the Cadbury mini eggs. I just love to eat them with a cup of tea and let them melt in my mouth!
Easter Candy is my favorite. I love all of it. My two favs are Cadbury Mini Eggs and Reese’s peanut butter eggs. These are the giant reeses pieces like candy. YUMMY!

I like the large reeces eggs- with more peanutbutter, they totally rock.
I wait for Hershey’s marshmallow eggs every year! The other marshmallow stuff just can’t hold a flame to them (sorry Peeps!)

My favorite Chocolate is M&M's plain or peanut, but any time is great for chocolate holiday or no holiday. My daughter loves pokemon, she has a pokemon pillow she sleeps w/ when she's sick.

I've got to admit I crave those Cadbury creme eggs around Easter. They're new slogan is "Release the goo," which should be unappetizing, but they're just so delicious.
Oh Pokemon…fond memories. I was at the right age for the first Pokemon games and I loved them. Now they've added so many new ones. I do summer camps & I hardly recognize any of the new ones on the pokemon cards the kids play with. It's a strange way to feel old at twenty.

I really haven’t met and Easter candy that dislike, but my favorite would have to be Cadbury eggs…original, none of those fancy caramel, peanut butter, etc. What can I say, I’m a purist :)!

I love Nintendo DS, my brother has one and whenever I see him with it I always try to “borrow” it for a little bit (doesn’t happen too often though, ha!).
As for easter candy I’d definitely say Cadbury mini eggs, I look forward to those things ALL year long!

I love peeps of the bunny or chick variety. It is great that they have expanded thier flavors. They now have a chocolate marshmallow bunny peep. Find me a fire and some graham crackers and we are in business.

My favorite easter candy of all time…hmm…I like the hollow chocolate easter bunnies, I remember as a kid eating the ears off and then saying the bunny couldn’t hear, I would always make them try to last as long as I could. I love the Cadbury Carmel eggs, yum!! Also the Reese’s eggs and Cadbury mini eggs, they are so so so yummy. When i used to work at the party store we got all our candy in super early and with a 30% discount i used to stock up so much =X

The are two favorites in my house, jellybeans, and Reese Peanut butter eggs.
I will admit I get the peeps when they go on sale, but I use them when we BBQ. I just love the way the sugar coating gets all crunchy. Be careful not to burn the sugar though.
