Peep Show

IMG_2010

I bought these little guys thinking I might use them for some kind of Easter cupcakes. I mean, they are cute in a marshmallowy sugar kinda way.

IMG_2060

And look how much cuter they are on sticks. (couldn’t resist.)

IMG_2249

But, then as they lay in the kitchen next to my handy dandy edible ink pens, I thought about something else I could do with them. Something a little less Easter, and potentially a lot more fun.

IMG_20602

So I grabbed my red and black pens, turned these little guys over on their tummies and went to town. Oh, and I pinched their ears, too.

Don’t laugh. I was bored.

Peeps + pens =

IMG_2190

Pikachus or in this case … Peep-achus!

I don’t think I can ever look at Peeps the same way again.

FYI… Pikachu is part of the Pokémon franchise owned by Nintendo. They’re not something I know a whole lot about, but they were on my mind because I had just recently bought some Pokémon stuff for my friend’s daughter who has been collecting these things for awhile.

IMG_3047

See what I mean. There are like hundreds of these strange little creatures that belong to the Pokémon family, but Pikachu is the only one I know of by name and as you can see, pretty conducive to a Peep makeover. I couldn’t wait to surprise her with them.

IMG_2988

She squealed when they saw them and her little brother was pretty excited, too. Just seeing them smile makes me happy. Totally worth it.

Okay, so I mentioned Nintendo earlier for a reason. Have any of you ever played the Nintendo DS? Because my niece got one for Christmas along with the Super Mario Bros. game and I have become a-d-d-d-ddddicted to it. She’ll come over to stay sometimes and when I pick her up, I’m like… “Sweetie, do you want to bring your Nintendo?” and “Don’t forget the charger.” (Insert evil laugh)

IMG_9220

We’ll sit on the sofa together and take turns. Well, she usually gets 10 turns to my one. Then, when I do get a turn, I usually die right away. But she, graciously offers to help … by taking it away from me … to show me what I did wrong! Then I wait another ten turns before I get another go. I should just buy one for myself, but, i’m scared to own it. I definitely wouldn’t get much done until I could finish World 8. Besides, it’s too much fun when we play together. Well, when I watch her play. :)

Anyway, you guys can see what I mean because I’m giving away one of these players! Yippee! (Super Mario Bros. not included.) Thank me later.

Not only am I giving one away, but I’m giving away the BRAND NEW Nintendo DSi. It was released TODAY! Lucky.

Music Capability.
Photo capability.
Bigger screen.
Basically, awesome!

Holy Peeps! I cannot believe how many entries there were for this giveaway. It so makes me wish I had more Nintendos to give away. But, alas, I only have one. A brand new bright blue one for one luck winner. And that person is ………

Congrats Cindy. Your wish is my command.

And everyone else, thanks for sharing your Easter candy obsession. By the way…What’s up with the stale Peeps. I’m outta the loop on that one. Guess I’ll have to try it.

Oh yeah, the Pokemons in order are Mewtwo, Shieldon, Glameow, Mew, and Lucario. Thanks dj, Cake Believe, Alyssa, Wendy, Vanessa, Chris, Shutterbugs, Heather, The Pike Family, Shawnee, jenny, talda, suedaisy, talei, Loralie and the rest of you that know way too much about Pokémon for clearing that up for me.

  1. Probably Snickers eggs, yum.

  2. I can eat copious amounts of Cadbury Eggs. It’s bad but soo good :)

  3. I used to be a traditionalist. I was a milk chocolate bunny kinda girl but in recent years I discovered the Cadbury mini eggs. They’re pretty yummy!!! Honestly, I’m not THAT picky but the mini eggs do seem to stand out in my mind as a fave right now.

THANKS for the opportunity to participate!

  4. i’m going to go with the vast majority here and say reese’s peanut butter eggs!

    tdressel36@gmail.com

  5. Reese Peanut Butter Egg. Mmmm. Love ’em. Thanks! :)

  6. I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one favorite. I adore Cadbury cream eggs and those hollow sugar panorama eggs. I may actually attempt to make my own sugar eggs this year, I haven’t been able to find any in stores.

  7. I am totally addicted to Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, but I can eat my fair share of Peeps, too!

  8. Cadbury’s mini eggs. The little solid milk chocolate eggs with the sugar shells. I have a serious problem with those. That, and malted milk ball eggs. As kids we’d lick the shells and rub them on our lips like lipstick. Don’t laugh – purple malted milk ball shell is a fabulous color for a green-eyed girl with pale, freckled skin!

  9. My favorite was, and always will be, malted milk ball eggs!!! Love taking a bite into the crunchy inside!!! YUM!

  10. Peeps or jelly beans. Great give away! Thanks

  11. I’d have to go with the sweetart, Chicks, ducks, and bunnies. They are tasty and cute!

  12. I love your peeps makeover. I love anything dark chocolate.

  13. Reese Eggs!!!!

  14. I just love dove chocolate, any way I can get it! I also love this blog!

  15. It’s a toss between peeps and robins eggs!! Mmmm, but the peeps have to be stale- just poke a hole in the package and leave it for a few days, then they’re perfect!!!

  16. Stale peeps. They have to be stale!

  17. I love stale Peeps and Easter or not, peanut M&M's are tops on the list!

aschrick at insight dot rr dot com

  18. my favorite are the chicks and ducks that are like circus peanuts. pure sugar!! :)

  19. I LOVE Cadberry Mini Eggs! I open a bag, and it’s gone in no time.

    Must…get…more.

  20. I love peeps, but I love them better when they’re a little bit stale!

  21. Those Reese’s Eggs are my absolute favorite…and this year they have them in KING SIZE. I about died when I saw them. Then I ate one and got so fat that I DID die. It was a horrible experience.

  22. Cadbury eggs!!! I am a little obsessed. I can’t wait for this time of year to roll around so I have an excuse to eat as many as I want!! :)

  23. Cadbury Caramel Eggs

  24. Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs… Easter isn’t complete if I don’t have one… or ten.

  25. Love those Peep-achus! :-)

My favorite Easter candy treat is mint lentils…

  26. Jelly beans, but they MUST be Just Born (the ones that make Peeps). Black are the best.

    jtufford@optonline.net

  27. Chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies. I just love them.

  28. Reese’s Eggs are my favorite without a doubt!!

  29. My favorite Cholcolate is M&M's, put i like any chocolate Holiday or no Holiday. My daughter has a pokemon pillow she sleeps w/ when she's sick.

  30. Reese’s Peanut Butter egg. mmmm I’ve only had one this year and I think I need another!

  31. My secret easter candy obsession is See’s jelly beans, they are like none other! Otherwise, I detest any other kind of jelly bean. I never eat any of them, I hate that coating on the outside, but See’s are coated in little tiny beads of fruit flavor, the inside jelly is wonderful! I haven’t had them in at least 20 years. There are no See’s candy stores in the midwest.

My son did Pokemon, I could name 3 out of the 5.

My email is on my profile on my blog…

  32. Hands-down, reese’s peanut butter eggs.

(Note: I saw at the grocery store that they now sell sugar-free peeps. Can you explain to me how such an abomination is even possible?)

  33. Cadbury creme eggs!~

    AnnYun@Gmail.com

  34. I think I'm sold on all the candy, but jelly beans hold a special place in my heart.

FWIW, I think: mewtwo, shieldon, glameow, mew, & lucario

Pokemon vs. nick jr. in our household, and I think both might be my personal purgatory.

Lovely pikachu, though, my daughter will go nuts.

  35. I love the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate foil-wrapped eggs the best, but Cadbury mini-eggs come in a close second.

  36. I love Jelly Beans!! But have you ever put a Peep in the microwave? They grow and (mostly) keep their shape. (If you keep it in too long they explode.)

    moveova17@bellsouth.net

  37. Frozen chocolate covered marshmallow eggs choice of Easter candies to eat, but the joy of looking into a handmade “panorama egg” makes these tiny works of art all-time favorite. Happy Easter, Bakerella!

  38. Oh my gosh, the Pikachu peeps…! Amazing :o) Strangely enough, my favorite Easter-y candy has always been circus peanuts. Call me crazy (or nuts, whatever), but I just can’t pry myself away from that that ultra-artificial banana aroma.

Well, on second thought, I do also have a soft spot for those little Cadbury eggs, the solid chocolate ones with a candy shell. But they are pretty dangerous and I have to severely limit myself, lest I down a whole bag in a sitting. Oh mercy are they ever good.

Oh, who am I to discriminate. I can’t think of an Easter candy that I -don’t- like!

  39. My favorite Easter candy would have to be 100% sweet tart jelly beans. I ate so many yesterday I got sores on my tongue. The lesson I learned? Eat on both sides of your mouth. Mmmm.

    cbhoff dot blogspot dot com

  40. I love the starburst jelly beans that come out during Easter….but I’m not one to pass up ANY chocolate item….choc cadbury eggs, choc coins, etc etc! Don’t get me started!

  41. My all time favorites are the Cadbury Mini Eggs, my family goes through them like crazy around Easter. Yum!

  42. I love love LOVE those little solid chocolate eggs that are covered in foil. I can’t get enough of them. I used to get hundreds when I was younger, and would still sneak some from my brother and sister… And even though I know they’re TECHNICALLY all the same… The ones covered in purple foil are definitely my favorites:)

  43. Cadbury Creme Eggs win hands down! It took me years to try them, because the center really doesn’t look that appealing… and now, I think of all the wasted years :-)

    lori@whartonfamily.com

  44. cadbury mini eggs, but only the ones from canada- the chocolate is so much better.
    kelseybrooke@hotmail.com

  45. My fave: Snickers eggs and Chocolate Peeps!!

  46. Heavenly Hash Eggs, chocolate marshmallow with almonds, YUM!

  47. I love the Reese’s eggs. They are much better than the regular Reese’s.

  48. my favorite are the coconut birds nests with the jellybean eggs in them !!! yummy!

  49. All Easter candy is good!! But my favorite are the Reese Peanut Butter Eggs, YUM! Although, I had some sweet tart jelly beans the other day and they were very addictive!

  50. OMG how sweet of you!!

ANY chocolate is fine by me for Easter!

  51. Cadbury’s eggs are my FAVOURITE. The Russel Stover ones are a close second though!

  52. mmmmmm…. i would have to say peeps! only the chick peeps though. and preferably stale. or microwaved! that is fun too!

  53. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! There is nothing better….

  54. My daughter loved Pokemon, she even has a Pokemon pillow she sleeps w/ when she’s sick. Anything chocolate is my favorite Holiday or no Holiday.
    Tracy
    rolfe87@localnet.com

  55. I like the marshmallow chick & rabbits. They used to be everywhere, now I have to search for them. They are just like circus peanuts.

  56. I love Peeps…they have to be my favorite Easter candy of all time. After Peeps it’s a close call between these marshmellowy candies that come in colored wrap, malt candie eggs, and of course jelly beans!

  57. My favorite is the peeps, but I like them a little stale. Weird I know, but they taste better to me. By the way I love you cake Pop and I am making some for Easter.

  58. turtles eggs. but not the huge creamy ones (gross).. the regular (cadbury creme egg-sized) turtles egg. unwrapped, put in a paper towel, and microwaved for 5-10 seconds, depending on your microwave. bite and enjoy. :)

  59. I love Cadbury Creme Eggs, because I remember the giant hand commercials from when I was a kid!

  60. Malted Milk eggs with crunchy coating. Yum!

  61. Cadbury Creme Eggs! Yum!

  62. Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs for sure!

  63. I love seeing you in my Google Reader, always something cool! My favorite candy this time of year are jelly beans. I really like the starburst ones over the good old fashion ones though. :)

    http://www.toriryanphoto.com

  64. Starburst jelly beans for me, Reese’s eggs for the manfriend. There isn’t a week that goes by during easter candy season that there isn’t a bag of one of the other in the house…
    kcannonz@hotmail.com

  65. i LOVE jelly beans
    yum!
and of course the solid chocolate bunnies
yum yum in my tum <3

  66. i LOVE jelly beans

yum yum in my tum <3

  67. My favorite easter candy has to be the Reese’s easter eggs. Yum.

  68. Cadbury Mini Eggs, are definitely my easer candy craving!!

    fincherashlee@yahoo.com

  69. I love the cadbury cream eggs!

  70. It’s a toss up between a solid chocolate Easter Bunny or the Reece’s egg.

I can’t say which comes first; the bunny or the egg…

Great blog! I recently discovered and have become a-d-d-d-d-dicted:)

    Christy – a_c_galindo04@yahoo.com

  71. reeses peanut butter eggs!!!! hands down!!!! mmmmmmm

  72. My favorite is definitely the solid chocolate bunnies! Ugh, now I want one, thanks a lot. Heh.

    faerieingrey at gmail dot com

  73. Cadbury Eggs all the way! A friend of mine even sent me a recipe for muffins that have the mini eggs in them–Easter candy for breakfast, my life is complete! Peeps are also great, but now that you can buy them year round they have lost some of their charm.

  74. cadbury easter mini eggs…

    heylady132524@yahoo.com

  75. I swoon over Cadbury Mini Eggs!

  76. anything dark chocolate

  77. My favorite Easter candy to eat are the Reeses peanut butter eggs….heaven! My funniest memory of Easter candy was with the Cadbury mini eggs. On my way home from the bus stop after a day in 3rd grade I found a tiny egg on the ground- so I picked it up thinking it was a hummingbird egg. Of course when I got home I built a warm nest to incubate my tiny find in… And then I tended to it constantly… For weeks.
Finally, after much teasing from my siblings I decided to crack it open- and what did I find inside? CHOCOLATE! Doh -it was a stray Mini Cadbury Egg I’d taken such good care of. Now whenever I see those I always chuckle to myself about my attempt to incubate a chocolate hummingbird.

  78. I am totally obsessed with the Reese’s ‘Reester Eggs’, (not to be confused with the Reester Bunnies they sell too.) The Reester Eggs have so much more peanut Butter in them and I always end up getting a bag, (or two,) and hiding them from my girls and my husband.
One of the many things in life that are just too good to share. Hee hee.

  79. Peeps! I don’t even like sweets very much, but I can’t resist the peeps!

  80. For most of my life my mother and I have given up sweets for Lent, so my favorite Easter candy has always been chocolate. I’ve got a major sweet tooth and it’s always hard when Valentines falls within the Lent season.

  81. My favorite is the good ol’fashioned chocolate bunny. I never liked the peeps. YUCK. :)

  82. Starburst Jelly Beans….but only the yellow and orange ones!

  83. Best candy I think: yolk centered chocolate eggs, bunny jujubes and Cadbury mini eggs. My son is one April 7th, maybe I’ll share some of my candy with him. Maybe…

  84. Cadbury eggs! I remember the FIRST easter they came out! Sooooo good!

  85. AMAZING giveaway, as always!

I am helpless against the powers of Robin Eggs (basically whoppers covered in a speckly candy coating). I usually buy a big bag at Easter and then hoard them, rationing them out to myself as long as a I can… I think last year I made it about a week and a half.

    erinegodbey at yahoo.com

  86. Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs. They can’t be beat.

  87. cadbury eggs, but I can only eat 1…sugar overload!

  88. Cadbury Creme Eggs are yummy! My son would love those!

  89. Wow! Thanks for the chance! My secret Easter candy obsession is those chocolate covered marshmallow eggs. The one’s you can get at Walmart for like $1 for a dozen. Love those things!

    ljatwood at gmail dot com

  90. I like Cadbury eggs, but one or two a year is enough for me.

I love chocolate eggs! the shape makes them perfect for just letting them melt in my mouth! I usually wait until the day after Easter and stock my freezer.

  91. Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!

  92. I love Cadbury Eggs!!!

    deidrak (at) hotmail (dot) com

  93. CADBURY EGGS, I believe they are as good as GOLD!!!

  94. We grew up eating Brachs Chicks and Rabbits until we felt sick!

  95. I love Reeses peanut butter eggs. Yum!

  96. Cadbury mini eggs and M&M's. They may be small but they are big on flavor!

  97. Even though I am jewish I look forward to Easter just so cadbury eggs are out in the stores.

  98. Reese’s peanut butter eggs make the world a better place. It’s a fact.

  99. My total absolute favorite candy only comes around Easter time….Cadbury Egss…oh yeah! Mmmm. Must go buy some now.

  100. Cadbury chocolate mini eggs. I have a problem, eat a bag a day if I have them in the house!
    mmwern at gmail dot com

  101. starburst jelly beans! yummmy!!!

and anything with chocolate and peanut butter….but isn’t that a given?

    kbranche21@gmail.com

  102. Just Born Fruit Jelly Beans or anything Lindt or Dove chocolate…

    Love the Peep-achus!

  103. I love love love Reese’s eggs. For some reason, they are so much better than regular Reese’s and I suspect that’s because of the extra PB!
    megan.tiscareno at gmail.com!

  104. Ooooooh … I could use a chocolate-covered caramel egg right NOW.

  105. lol – that was a great idea!

I didn’t used to like them but recently peeps themselves have been my Easter addiction. I may have to try out those cute Pokemon critters myself!

  106. Cadbury eggs… despite the controversy of whether they have gotten smaller.

  107. Ooohhh…my absolute favorite Eater candy is a Reese’s peanut butter egg. And I recently discovered a Reese’s egg that HUGE – I’d never seen one so big before. And did you know there are Reese’s rabbits, too? Oh lord, I could be in trouble!

  108. Cadbury’s Easter Eggs! I love it!!! *(^_^)*
    I love your blog!!

  109. Whatever happened to the giant solid chocolate Easter bunnies? They are all hollow now! What a rip-off! I want one so big that you have to put it in the refrigerator because it takes all day just to eat part of the ear. I want one of those.

  110. Robin Eggs – – yes I know its just a whopper candy w/a crunchy coating, but I MUST HAVE THEM every Easter. I’m considering Robin Egg intervention I’m so hooked!

    Love your blog!

  111. MewTwo, Shieldon, Glameow, Mew, and Lucario. ;)

My very favorite are Sees Candy eggs, particularly bordeaux and coconut. I think they’re a CA-only chain, though. My favorite widely-available treat are the Cadbury eggs. Maybe it’s because they’re only available around Easter, but I always get a little thrill when they show up in stores.

  112. Darn, and I knew three out of the five!

But I’d rather think about CADBURY EGGS!

  113. I am addicted to Walmart’s sour apple cotton candy. I think you are supposed to use it in a basket instead of grass, but everytime I buy one for my son’s basket, I eat it before we even get home! It is only a dollar for a bucket of the stuff, so there really isn’t much incentive to stop eating…. except my Easter dress is getting a little snug. I should just go get pregnant again so I have an excuse. stephlezell@hotmail.com

  114. Too cute!!! My favorite easter candies are cadbury eggs!!! Love them!! I think half the reason I call them favorite is because you can only get this this time of year. Nothing else like them!

  115. I love anything chocolate…but I think cake balls might be my new favorite for every holiday, especially how cute you decorate them!

  116. World’s finest chocolate easter bunnies…oh, and robin eggs…oh, and one more, Cadbury chocolate eggs. Well, those are my top three at least.

  117. My favorite is Easter M&M's in pastel colors. Ok…M&M's are my favorite and I really don't give a rats what color they are! I just love M&M's anytime! Basketchik@aol.com

  118. I love Cadbury eggs! They are wonderful and I have to buy some every year!

  119. jelly beans and hollow chocolate bunnies!
    kmcaruthers@gmail.com

  120. Hahaha both of my brothers were addicted to Pokemon! When I showed them this they insisted I make them! Too adorable….

My favorite Easter candy must be something one of my brothers received as a child. It was a hollow chocolate egg about the size of a sheet of paper, but when you cracked it open there were mini chocolate dinosaurs inside in all different chocolate colors!

    Michelle
    michelleharran@gmail.com

  121. I have a serious obsession with the Reese’s Easter eggs. I LOVE THEM! They don’t have that hard chocolate around the edges like regular Reese’s do, and they are sooooo good! I have to stay away, or I won’t fit into my bathing suit!

  122. Those peepachu pops are AWESOME!! What fun to make with my kids, especially when all the Peeps go on clearance at Target. And, for the record, I can name those Pokemon….
My fav easter candy indulgence-either Cadbury Cream eggs or those marshmallow eggs that come in an actual egg carton.

    sageflower@sbcglobal.net

  123. just born brand jelly beans.

They are made by the same company that makes peeps, but they are not as widely distributed. In my opinion, they are the best jelly beans ever made. Last year, I bought ten bags of them. I was pregnant at the time. I planned to buy the same this year, but they were sold out (for the season!)in mid-February. That’s how good they are.

  124. Cinnamon bears (juju bears?) are my favorite candy. I don’t even buy them for I know I will eat the whole bag at one time.

  125. I absolutely, 100% adore Reese’s Pieces Easter Eggs! They’re sort of like Robin Eggs, but with peanut butter filling instead of whopper filling. yuummm…

  126. My favorite easter candies would have to be jelly beans, Peeps, and the spring colored M&Ms.

  127. I absolutely LOVE Dove Truffle eggs and the dark chocolate solid eggs. I could eat them all day long!

    kam617@gmail.com

  128. Does it get better than a Cadbury egg? I allow myself one a year and it is SO worth the sugar crash that follows shortly after!!

  129. I love, love, love the mini Robin’s eggs — you know, the malted milk eggs. I can eat 1/2 a bag watching tv! Stale Peeps run a close second.

  130. Cadbury Mini Eggs are my FAVORITE! I look forward to the “Easter Aisle” every year so I can get some!

    amy.tuggle@gmail.com

  131. Mmm… addicted to Cadbury eggs. but not the caramel or orange ones– just the original

    sherrysaville@live.com

  145. I love them all! Seriously! But, if I had to pick just one, it would have to be the cadbury eggs! Delicioso!
I know what you mean about the Mario game, my son got it and a DS for Christmas, and I love it! Hope I win!

  146. I am literally obsessed with Robin Eggs. I think I gain 10 pounds every easter season just because of those little guys!

  147. too cute! my fav easter treat would have to be the mini eggs, or anything with peanut butter in it…. oh heck all easter treats are great!!!

  148. Hello,

I would like to share with you my obession with Jordan Almonds.

As a child, I would chew them into delicious, pulpy submission. As a young adult, I have learned to savor the unique flavor of the candy shell and the soft, chewy texture of the blanched almonds inside.

If I could, I would eat them all year. For some reason, I only seem to purchase these decadent little candies near Easter. I look forward to purchasing a bag this week and enjoying every scumptious little bite.

  149. I love Cadbury Mini Eggs so much I don’t dare buy them because I would eat them all myself.

Your creations make me smile! Thanks for sharing!!!

  150. My favorite is Jelly Belly’s. I love them year round, but always look forward to the big easter dish I fill with the beans for everyone to enjoy.
    My favorite flavor…pear!

  151. I love almost all Easter candies- the colors and the cuteness make me happy! My absolute favorites are peeps that have been dried out and have become hard and Mini Cadburry eggs. PS- I’m so relieved we didn’t actually have to name the Pokemon by name…I would have lost for sure!

  152. Like most other Easter candy lovers, I wait all year long for my favorite…Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs. Now I know that they make for every holiday not, but none of them taste as good as the peanut butter egg (insert nostalgic sigh here)

  153. Cadbury Mini Eggs – only found at Easter and my fav treat. My mom and I used to hoard them from the rest of family. But tonight we are making the Spring Chicks cakepops. Can’t wait.

  154. Cadbury Mini Eggs!

  155. This is going to sound absolutely ridiculous considering all the sugary-deliciousness available around Eastertime, but my favorite ‘treat’ for easter is actually made from all those dyed eggs my daughter does every year: deviled eggs. I know. I’m a complete dork.

  156. I always liked peeps when I was little and I still like them!

  157. the big Reeses eggs. I also love the starburst jellybeans that come out

  158. Definitely Cadbury Eggs! Even though they sell them year-round it doesn’t feel right unless I eat them at Easter!

  159. My favorite is the robin eggs – the candy coated malty balls. I could eat an entire carton in one sitting.

FYI – I made the nutter butter balls and the oreo balls – the were fantastic and too easy to make. All my friends loved them.

  160. SweetTart bunnies and chicks!

  161. Pikachu – cool!

I only eat Peeps at Easter. I won’t eat those new fangled xmas or halloween peeps…

  162. my fav is Jelly Beans. I love those so much. Happy Easter

  163. When I was little my Mom used to make a really cute easter bunny cake using 8″ round cake layers. She would use one layer as the face, and the other layer cut into shapes for ears and a bow tie. She would frost it and cover it in coconut “fur” and use jelly beans to decorate. This is my favorite easter treat, and although I’m all grown up now I still love when she makes it!

  164. Here from Pioneer Woman and dying from Pikachu cuteness! My personal favorite Easter treat is the traditional Coconut Cream Egg that we’d always find in the center of our baskets. We’d nibble slices for weeks until the bitter end when it was as hard as granite and embedded with bits of Easter grass. Good times!

  165. That is a riot!!

Hmm, my favorite Easter candy? That’s a toss up between stale (yes they have to be stale) Peeps and orange jelly beans.

  166. Hm, I’d have to say jelly beans! I know I can get them any time really, but during Easter time is when all the more interesting kinds come out.

  167. Cadbury Mini Eggs! I looooove those things.

  181. My favorite Easter candy would be Cadbury mini eggs – pure Cadbury chocolate covered with a crunchy, candy coating! It’s probably a good thing I gave up sweets for Lent! I can’t wait for next Sunday!
    mrchip4 (at) gmail (dot) com

  182. Mini Cadbury Eggs- the ones with the hard shell- Delish!

  183. I love speckled jelly beans. They are so good and I only see them at Easter. Yum!

  184. Cadbury Mini Eggs are impossible to resist. I used to try buying up a few bags at Easter (since they only come out once a year) with the intention of being able to enjoy them through July. That so never worked, they’d be gone by the end of the week.

  185. plain chocolate hollow eggs.

  186. I’m a sucker for the small Hershey bunnies and the Reeses eggs. Yum!

  187. my favorite easter treat is jelly bellies! and the worst thing in the whole world for my backside was when costco started selling there huge monster container of them! hello 20lbs of sugar and loveliness. by the way super cute chicks for easter…my daughter and i are making them this week.

  191. Go to my blog a see http://tombstonetumbleweed.blogspot.com/2009/03/you-know-its-easter.html

    Your peeps are very special.

  192. Jelly Beans are the way to go at Easter!

  193. those are just amazing, now my kids want to make some. I don’t like Peeps but I do love cadbury eggs :)

  194. Dang! I could have named those Pokemon! With the help of my son that is…

My Easter obsession is the Reese’s Peanut Butter egg FOR SURE. I buy a ton for Easter Baskets…then an extra ton for MEEEE!!

  195. I am new to your site from PW, and I swear I am gonna gain 10 pounds from reading alone! I just love your creativity!

Anyway, I am a sucker for the butterfinger eggs. I buy them and stash them for myself! Horrible, I know.

  196. Every year I go to at least 5 stores looking for the newest easter candy. I buy one of every new item that’s out. This year’s favorite is Hot Tamale Jellybeans. I knew I couldn’t give these to my little girl, so I ended up eating them all myself, dumped in bottles of pepsi! I made my husband go and buy more, and the store I found them at is an hour away!

  197. Without a doubt, Reese’s peanut butter eggs.
    ksyferd@wowway.com

  198. I love the chocolate eggs with the hard shells–I believe Hershey's makes them. They are way better than plain old M&M's. Just think size of a peanut m&m, but solid chocolate–what can be better!!!

  199. I think my favorite Easter candy is a solid “homemade” chocolate bunny. The store bought ones just don’t taste the same.

My all time favorite easter candy are those nummy starburst jelly beans.
