I didn’t bake anything this weekend. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I think I was still in vacation mode or something. So I guess this is as good a time as any to close out the “Where I Shop” series. This is part 3: PANS! And Cake Art Party Store has a ton of them.
I love this store.
The cake pan aisle just makes me smile, despite it’s overwhelmingly gray disposition. It just makes me happy. I like to think about all the talented people that walk through here in need of the perfect cake pan and the things they create with them. Take all these graduated cake pan sets for instance… I’m in awe of what serious bakers and wedding cake decorators can do with them.
But layer cake pans aren’t the only kind of pan Cake Art carries.
There are loaf pans…
… not to be confused with bread pans.
Bundt-style pans in various designs.
Angel food cake pans.
Tartlet pans. (Fat Daddio’s
… they even have a cute name.)
Doughnut pans. I should get one of these for the next time I try dougnuts.
How about some square pans. Or… regular, mini and jumbo-size muffin pans.
But, when it comes to cake pans, I love these little graduated ones that you can hold in one hand.
And, then there’s these. These are much, much bigger. I don’t know how big they actually go, but I’ve seen some as big as 18 inches wide and 3 and 4 inches deep. That is a serious cake. I think my oven would be scared.
But, the graduated sets aren’t all round. There are heart pans, hexagon pans, square pans, and oval pans… all available in different sizes.
But maybe you just want one pan. How about a sweet teddy bear? In pink, though.
What about a butterfly? Care Bear? Spiderman?
Or maybe you want individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. Too cute!
Or maybe you want a collection of itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans. I want one of each myself. For scale, that’s a container of sprinkles on the left. These ARE cuteness!
What?!?! You don’t want any cake pans? Well, they also have cookie sheet pans. So there.
And, if that weren’t enough, they have pans that try to tempt me to buy them – even though I would probably never use them. This one has blocks you can move around to let you make numbers and letters. I’ve seen it in a large size, but not one this tiny. Again, CUTENESS! I hate this store.

I have been desperately seeking mini-muffin pans at neighborhood thrift stores and yard sales for months now. How am I supposed to feed my toddler cupcakes and muffins without them?

I'm a cupcake junkie so I would say muffin pans, any size, muffin tops, or if you're feeling frisky, surprise me!
I absolutely ADORE the cupcake cake pan. My daughter INSISTS upon taking the cupcake-ice cream cone cupcakes for her birthday to school every year, and I think that pan would be SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than a soggy/half crunchy ice cream cone. But then again, I'm not six, and I might be overstepping myself.
I would like some 8" square pans or a tall 8" or 9" round pan. I need a normal Bundt pan (mine is all decorative) as well as an angel food cake pan (is that what they're called or is it a fluted pan??). Oh and I also want a 9×13 metal pan. I have several glass ones, but no metal ones.
I would love to have that number/alphabet pan… I have never seen one… How a~MAZ~ing… Wish we had a store like that around here….

If I HAD to choose I would pick the graduated round pans because they're so practical. I could think of so many fun things to make with all the others though! That is a lot of pans! Makes me sad that my cake store is gone :( Stupid economy! I would love the doughnut pan or the square pan right under it – I have always wanted those but never actually bought them for myself.
I am so jealous! My local Cake Art store (and yes, it is called Cake Art) has a well-chosen selection but it is much, much smaller. It's like the difference between the corner convenience mart and a Super Target. Anyway, I love the itty bitty pans, and I've always wanted some more interesting Bundt style pans…but I think if I win I'd choose a graduated set but in the smallest sizes. You know, like 4 and 6 inch rounds (and maybe an itty bitty in the same shape?). They'd be useful in conjunction with larger pans for ears, noses, wheels and the like; plus, I could do two-serving-size tiered cakes!

Unfortunately my greatest need is just regular cupcake/muffin size pan – ours is starting to rust – ick!
Holy cake pans batman! :) I would go nuts in a store like that. I would love the angel food cake pan and try and square graduated ones, but love the ice cream cone pan & itty bitty ones as well. Too many to choose from.

You always know where the good stuff is! I would LOVE to find the giant cupcake pan (although I didn't see it in your pictures), but I also couldn't get over the cuteness of the ice cream shaped pan, perfect for summer!
Oh, what fun! If I won, I'd coose either a springform pan for cheesecakes, square cake pans,tart pans or a fancy bundt pan. So much to choose from. Thanks Bakerella!

I'm about to get married and move to Guatemala with the love of my life. I want to start a cupcake business there someday so any kind of cool/unique cupcake things like the square ones or the wilton one would be wonderful!

Wow how nice of you – I am so lucky we don't have a store like that near by! I'd be in major trouble! I really like the teddy bear pan – I've been admiring things you can make with it in the Wilton yearbook! Though that tartlet pan is cute too!!!
*Drooling* I would be in serious debt if I had access to a store like that! If I was picked, I would love one of the square cupcake type pans and/or a selection of the mini pans.

Love your site! You inspire me to get back to being creative in the kitchen and baking more. I started out baking as a kid w/ my mom in the kitchen. We still have the apron my mom made me as a kid – and by the looks of it – it probably fit me when I was 3-4 years old. So many pans to choose from… If it had to pick just one I'd go for the Ice Cream cone pan! It's fun and my two girls would love having some ice cream cone cupcakes!
Absolutely amazing aisle! I've never seen the pans with the moving blocks before. My immediate thought was "how perfect for an old-school video game inspired cake!". I can just see it now: little space invader sprites, and some Q*bert!! There must be a Q*bert cake in my future!

I love the square muffin pans and the shifting number pan! I would definitely want a big one to make for team sports and birthdays! I finally tried to make cake balls for the first time last night. They taste delicious but aren't as pretty as yours. I will just have to try again :) Thanks for all the fun blogs!

I love cake pans, I have an entire cabinet full of them, my favorite is a castle shaped one. I once made it into a rainbow colored castle, it looked and tasted delicious! I think I need those heart shaped ones, I have never done a layered cake like that though I did once bake one shaped like the pantheon.
