Pantastic!

I didn’t bake anything this weekend. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I think I was still in vacation mode or something. So I guess this is as good a time as any to close out the “Where I Shop” series. This is part 3: PANS! And Cake Art Party Store has a ton of them.

I love this store.

PANS

The cake pan aisle just makes me smile, despite it’s overwhelmingly gray disposition. It just makes me happy. I like to think about all the talented people that walk through here in need of the perfect cake pan and the things they create with them. Take all these graduated cake pan sets for instance… I’m in awe of what serious bakers and wedding cake decorators can do with them.

But layer cake pans aren’t the only kind of pan Cake Art carries.

Loaf Pans

There are loaf pans…

Bread Pans

… not to be confused with bread pans.

Bundt Pans

Bundt-style pans in various designs.

Angel Food Cake Pans

Angel food cake pans.

Tartlet Pans

Tartlet pans. (Fat Daddio’s… they even have a cute name.)

Doughnut Pans

Doughnut pans. I should get one of these for the next time I try dougnuts.

Square Muffin Pans

How about some square pans. Or… regular, mini and jumbo-size muffin pans.

Small Graduated Pans

But, when it comes to cake pans, I love these little graduated ones that you can hold in one hand.

Graduated Pans

And, then there’s these. These are much, much bigger. I don’t know how big they actually go, but I’ve seen some as big as 18 inches wide and 3 and 4 inches deep. That is a serious cake. I think my oven would be scared.

Heart Pans

But, the graduated sets aren’t all round. There are heart pans, hexagon pans, square pans, and oval pans… all available in different sizes.

Teddy Bear Pans

But maybe you just want one pan. How about a sweet teddy bear? In pink, though.

Shaped Pans

What about a butterfly? Care Bear? Spiderman?

Ice Cream Cone Pan

Or maybe you want individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. Too cute!

Mini Pans

Or maybe you want a collection of itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans. I want one of each myself. For scale, that’s a container of sprinkles on the left. These ARE cuteness!

Cookie Sheet Pans

What?!?! You don’t want any cake pans? Well, they also have cookie sheet pans. So there.

Number Pan

And, if that weren’t enough, they have pans that try to tempt me to buy them – even though I would probably never use them. This one has blocks you can move around to let you make numbers and letters. I’ve seen it in a large size, but not one this tiny. Again, CUTENESS! I hate this store.

If that’s not enough, they have even more pans.
And, now for some fun.

It’s a Pick a Pan Giveaway!
  • Enter for a chance to win the pan of your choice.
  • Just leave a comment on this post and pick out the kind of pan you want from any of the above. That’s right. You get to pick. Need some jumbo-size muffin pans? Want to try out a set of graduated pans? Hearts? Hexagons? Or maybe you just need some plain old cupcake pans. I know, you really want an assortment of teeny-tiny pans.
  • Well, if you win, I’ll get it for you, or as many as I can get for you with a $50 bill. Sound like fun?
  • Leave your comment with a way for me to contact you if you win (either a blog link or email)
  • Deadline to enter is Tuesday, July 14th at 5 p.m. TIME’S UP! WINNER ANNOUNCED BELOW. (recorded by the time stamp of your comment) The winner will be announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.

* One winner will be chosen using the Random.org integer generator.

Good luck!

Man… you guys like pans! I didn’t think this giveaway would be that fun because it was so, well, so gray. But, I’m glad you had fun entering. Now for the winner…

Congrats Melissa! You’re definitely getting a set of graduated pans. YAY! And I’ll try to throw in a square muffin pan for you, too. I’ll see how far $50 goes.

  1. Oh I love that store!!! I would love to have the mini and jumbo-size muffin pans

  2. It's so funny I read this today as I'm going out to buy a round cake pan tonight after work!

If I had a shopping spree for pans I would definitely go for the graduated pans – round – then maybe getting adventurous with other shapes (square?). I love baking!

  3. It is all about the doughnut pan because everyone needs a doughnut pan.

  4. The graduated round pans. I need more rounds to stack!

  5. When it comes to cooking, I love anything little. So, an assortment of tiny pans would be fantastic. I am already thinking of things to do with them!!

  6. graduated pans for sure!!!! how fun!!!!

  7. I would love to find a mini loaf pan that makes 8 little loaves- perfect for banana bread (instead of 2 full-size loaves). I used to have one that was perfect, but the non-stick coating started to flake off and I had to throw it away. I found a similar one, but it makes 9 smaller loaves and no matter how full I fill them, there's always too much and I have to use a muffin pan, too. Can anyone help me???

  8. I wish there was a store that well stocked in California. Over the years, I have had to order most of my pans. I could really use more 6" square pans for my sample cakes.

  9. I would love to have another set of heart pans. I had a set that I made my daughter's birthday cake in every year (February birthday) but during one of our moves last year, they went missing. so sad.

  10. Such a hard decision….probably a set of square graduated pans. Or the tartlet pans!!!

  11. Great selection of pans! I would love a graduated set of pans. Heart shape or round!!

    (m_mags_9@hotmail.com)

  12. I'm in Atlanta and I really need to get to this store!!

I would love a set of the graduated pans!!

  13. I wish I had a store like that near me. Then again, I'd go broke…I think I'd love some fun mini pans. Small makes everything that much more adorable.

  14. most definitely want the little blocks pan that makes numbers and letters!

  15. I love the wee bundt pans. Do you have to do anything different when you use smaller pans? Like, can I use my standard pound cake recipe and make it in wee pans without changing anything?

  16. Oh Bakerella, you are so good to us! I would love to pick a cute and different kind of pan, but what I really need right now is some bread loaf pans. Boring, but my bread would finally look like bread. :)

  17. The graduated hexagon cake pans look like a blast!! And how cute are the designed bundt pans!

  18. OOOhhh…maybe one of those beautiful bundt pans and a cheesecake pan would be great for me to have. :)

  19. Oh my God! So many pans!! Our stores have maybe to or three different, so you can see why I need to win! I would really like a butterfly-pan, since I´ve got two little girls, and can make butterfly cakes for many years to come.

And I have to say – your blog is really great! I read it all the time, and you are a great inspiration!

    Tove (Norway)

  20. Ohhh, the possibilities!! I am loving the square muffin pan, oh or square pans with true straight corners (those are sooo hard to find). I could wonder that store for at least a day or two!

  21. Oh,oh, the graduated round set – no, the square muffin pan – but that "make a number or letter" is so cute. What a cool idea, thanks for offering the giveaway!

  22. OH my gosh. . .it is so hard to decide! I think I would love the Scooby Doo cake pan (for my son), 3D Wonder Mold Cake Pan Kit and the individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. I really want to win!!

  23. LITTLE PANS *_* eeeeee.

although graduated heart pants would be awesome, a tower of cake-love! oh the possibilities. :B

also my word verication is "iwnre", which almost has 'winner' in it.

    or weiner.

    i prefer the first.

  24. I was just telling my fiance last night that we need some regular circle cake pans. I love baking cakes, but we usually do a sheet style cake. I want to get with the layered circle cake program. I also would love the tiny ones to do little individual tiny layered circle cakes.

  25. I love the ice cream cone shaped cupcake pan!

  26. WOOOHOOO!! I love cake pans and would love some graduated pans.

    positivelyperfectparty@gmail.com

  27. Tart pans call to me. I don't know that I've ever even made a tart but every time I see one I want it! Love the fluted sides and I almost drool over removable bottoms. *sigh*

  28. oh my goodness, this is too fun! How can you ever decide? I love all things mini…the square muffin pan or even the graduated circles. Or the icecream cupcakes. :)

  29. So many choices..I would love to have the little mini pans. Circles, hearts, squares any shape. I just love mini things! I've always wanted to make a mini tiered layer cake.

  30. I am 72 years old and still baking-although since my family is all grown up and no one lives with us I usually give everything away and love it. I would really like the tiny ones.

    skovko@yahoo.com

  31. I loved all the pans!!!
What I am needing is an 11X15 rectangle cake pan!

  32. wow! wow!

    Bundt-style pans in various designs.

    that's for me!

  33. I love the donut pan and the tulip bundt pan. So cool!

  34. Oh, mercy! I could use a bundt pan – a regular sized one, though several minis would be adorable. Thanks for the chance!

  35. I want new cookie sheets. Even though those graduated ones are really tempting!

  36. .. so why don't I live in that store? I think I may continue dying of happiness while I drool over pictures and website of this store!

my first pick would be, ah probably the ice cream pan. either that or an assortment of tiny pans. Definitely right up my baking aisle. :)

  37. How do you choose? Wish we had this store where I live. I would have to start my collection with the cute little minis.

  38. If I had a doughnut pan and made homemade ones for my husband weekly, he would think I was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I would hope he already thinks that though! ;)

    korihulst@sbcglobal.net

  39. Okay, you got a pen??? My list is huge. I ALWAYS have to borrow from my mom (thanks MOM!) when I'm baking. I need a bundt pan, a springform pan, a new muffin tin and a cookie sheet. Some other things too, but that should get you started–thanks Bakerella! I'll be sitting here patiently waiting for my name to be picked!
    sylviarj at yahoo dot com

  40. I wish I lived by a baking supply store like that…oh how much fun I'd have and how much richer they would get! I would pick out mini-pans.
    aprilsconfections@yahoo.com

  41. Oh how FUN! Thanks for this nice giveaway… if it were me, I'd want some of those tiny little cake pans… SO CUTE! But that removable square pan towards the end sure looks like fun to play with!

  42. I think my choice would be the ice cream cone shaped cupcake pan! SO cute. I work at an ice cream shop, and this would be a great little thank you gift for the employees, a nice cupcake. :)

  43. WOW – I would be dangerous in a store like this. I wish I could have all of the pans you highlighted but if I had to pick one (or two) I would say I need to upgrade my loaf pan and mini bundt pans.

  44. Aw man….there were 737 entries before me! Those teeny tiny are way too cute! Any cake pan would do it for me! I can't tell you how happy I was this Monday morning to see new blog posts from you! Thanks for making my week start off sweet!

  45. I have no cake pans. None whatsoever! I know, it's a sin against nature. So I could use a graduated set of round cake pans, in as many sizes as I can get!

  46. I would love the square muffin pan or hexagon cake pans. You are amazing! Thanks!
    kayleighat@gmail.com

  50. Oooooh! I've made a teddy bear cake for all 3 of my kids' first birthdays – w/out the special pan an it looked pretty similar. I've also done the cupcake/ice cream cones using ice cream cones – my mom always made them for us to share at school on our birthdays! I'm going to be really boring and ask for a round 9 x 3 and maybe a square one too. I could really use soem new cookie sheets. AAACCCKKKK! I can't decide!

  51. I'm sure I'd get the most use out of a set of graduated cake pans. But I do have to say that the itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny ones are sooo cute!

    samyhe@gmail.com

  65. I would love to have some graduated square pans… or graduated round ones… anything to make a fun layer cake!

  66. wow! there are so many cute ones. i loved the little blocks to make numbers and letters but if i could only pick one, it would probably be the ice cream cone shaped pan.

  153. Oh, a tartlet pan would be much fun! I have a pie pan, but that cute little tarlet pan would surely make for much better looking tarts.

  154. I would love anything you picked out, all of these pans are great!

  155. would love loaf size pans (I love to make breads) or a round 12" pan -someone made a cookie cake recently using store bought cookie dough and the 12" pan – I want to make one –

  156. I could really use a couple of loaf pans and those graduated cake pans :) I want to be able to make exciting things for my girls as they grow :)

  157. I love the little square pan set. Those look like the perfect size for my little kids to eat.

  158. I just love when you take us shopping with you! I think the graduated round pans would motivate me to make a layered cake! Too many choices, so little time to bake…

  159. Oh, wow! That is a LOT of pans! I love the ice cream cone shaped cupcake pan. That's just too much cuteness.

  160. I would love a doughnut pan!

  161. Oh my goodness! This looks like a very dangerous store. One that requires the wallet to be left in the car or at home. Thanks for sharing! I would adore a individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pan. What fun would this be for birthdays or holiday??? I can just imagine the excitment.

  162. I want a tart pan! I see so many delicious fruit tarts out there and I have no tart pan to make them!! I can always use more cupcake tins too!

  163. I would love to have the ice cream cone shaped cupcake pan! How fun is that?? And I use loaf pans for my yeast breads, but a bread pan would be nice. Glad I don't live close to that store!!

  164. I would love to have the graduated pan set! I really should look for a store like this in my area…

  165. oh my goodness – those teeny pans look perfect for a special someone's birthday, or just a pick-me-up!! too cute

  166. I need a store like this- I love the small square shaped cupcake pan, or the moveable, create your own letter pan.

  167. Wow what a cool store! I still don't have a spring form pan..is that what its called? The one you make cheesecakes in??? Anyway that would be cool to have one of those or more cookie sheets are always good!

  168. Little bitty pans! The smaller, the better!

  169. So hard to decide… I really like the one that looks like ice cream cones- the kids would love that. I would also love the large loaf pan (16×4) because I haven't been able to find one like that! I also like the graduated round ones for cute layer cakes.
Thanks for the opportunity! You've motivated us to try and plan a trip to the store- it's about two hours from here!

  170. I love the idea of the character pans, but I'm not that good at decorating characters yet. The square muffin pan, featured just below the doughnut pan, is really floating my boat right now. I'm imagining individual cakes and coffee cakes that I can bake and freeze so I can have cake whenever the mood hits.

  171. I love this store and I haven't even shopped there! But… as of next week My family and I have been relocated to Georgia and this may just be a nice little trip when the kiddo's get in school. We're moving to the Newnan area so it won't be a bad trip at all. I am excited! I love those cupcake pans and those square pans are so unique. Thanks for such great pics of the store. I love your photography.

  172. Wow….how do you choose from that selection? What a wonderful dilemma!
    Thanks! Gayl

  197. Although my heart tells me I want a selection of itty bitty cutey wooty pans, my brain says I'm entering for a set of square graduated pans because I'm going to attempt in September to make a King Kong out of icing and need a building o' cake for him to be terrorizing… :) I shall say a prayer to the random integer God to choose me…

  198. As much as I could use some really sturdy, reliable traditional pans, how could you come away from this and not ask for something extraordinarily fantastic? I'd like to try the ice cream cone cupcakes…so cute!
