I didn’t bake anything this weekend. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I think I was still in vacation mode or something. So I guess this is as good a time as any to close out the “Where I Shop” series. This is part 3: PANS! And Cake Art Party Store has a ton of them.
I love this store.
The cake pan aisle just makes me smile, despite it’s overwhelmingly gray disposition. It just makes me happy. I like to think about all the talented people that walk through here in need of the perfect cake pan and the things they create with them. Take all these graduated cake pan sets for instance… I’m in awe of what serious bakers and wedding cake decorators can do with them.
But layer cake pans aren’t the only kind of pan Cake Art carries.
There are loaf pans…
… not to be confused with bread pans.
Bundt-style pans in various designs.
Angel food cake pans.
Tartlet pans. (Fat Daddio’s
… they even have a cute name.)
Doughnut pans. I should get one of these for the next time I try dougnuts.
How about some square pans. Or… regular, mini and jumbo-size muffin pans.
But, when it comes to cake pans, I love these little graduated ones that you can hold in one hand.
And, then there’s these. These are much, much bigger. I don’t know how big they actually go, but I’ve seen some as big as 18 inches wide and 3 and 4 inches deep. That is a serious cake. I think my oven would be scared.
But, the graduated sets aren’t all round. There are heart pans, hexagon pans, square pans, and oval pans… all available in different sizes.
But maybe you just want one pan. How about a sweet teddy bear? In pink, though.
What about a butterfly? Care Bear? Spiderman?
Or maybe you want individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. Too cute!
Or maybe you want a collection of itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans. I want one of each myself. For scale, that’s a container of sprinkles on the left. These ARE cuteness!
What?!?! You don’t want any cake pans? Well, they also have cookie sheet pans. So there.
And, if that weren’t enough, they have pans that try to tempt me to buy them – even though I would probably never use them. This one has blocks you can move around to let you make numbers and letters. I’ve seen it in a large size, but not one this tiny. Again, CUTENESS! I hate this store.
If that’s not enough, they have even more pans.

Oh, my – I LOVE pans myself!! I not only have the ice cream cone pans, I have the cupcake pans (I know, I know, who needs a pan to make a cupcake look like a cupcake? ME!)
If I could have any of them, I'd take the hexagon-shaped tiers. I'm baking my mom's 75th birthday cake later this year, and am teaching myself gum paste flowers so I can make her favorite flower – phaleanopsis orchids. They'd look great on a hexagonal cake!!

Oh, how awesome! My mother taught me how to bake when I was a child and now it's a favorite pastime for my children and I; a lovely way to carry on the family tradition!

I think i would never be able to walk out of that store without spending over a hundred bucks each time! It is like a bakers heaven. I would love a set of the graduate cake pans in a fun shape. I mean how often do you see a hexagon stacked cake outside of a bakery. oh the possible cakes to be made just makes my mouth water. My second choice would have to be that square cupcake pan. ( the one to make the individual square cakes).

I keep my favorites archived for this fall when I'll have some free time to play in the kitchen. Oh the fun it would be just to "window shop" in this store. Or as second choices the ice cream or this one mystical bundt pan I saw once, that I'd bet cupcakes on that they have… It's a pirate ship! Holy cow…. how fun. That is so awesome that you have an amazing store so close to you. I would spend way too much money there. The square muffin tin is just too cute.
I've been needing a bundt cake pan. But the tinies and the graduated are cool, too!
Wow. I don't know how you contain yourself in a store like that. I have always wanted one of those fabulous bundt pans that look so pretty-maybe a rose pattern or something even more decorative.

I would love to have a new bundt pan. The one I have is an old one the previous owners left behind when they moved out of my house. It's dark with age, and is now beginning to rust in the creases and all along the bottom.

Hm, I don't know, all of those pans seem amazing! Thing is, I'm a baker and I don't even have any pans. No cake pans, no cupcake pans, all I have are brownie pans. Quite sad isn't it? I guess its time for me to expand my horizons and try out cupcakes and cakes and oh my how much fun I'll have making things if I had any pans from small to large. Though I think those small to medium size pans make me smile the most.
Hm, but to be practical, the graduated pans would definitely suit any occassion! Agh, too many choices. I guess I leave it to you? :)

My boyfriend still maintains that if you make ANYTHING small and cute, women will buy it based on that fact alone. That being said, I would LOVE some small pans – including that small set up number makers. I've never seen those before and they look exciting!

I absolutely LOVE BUNDT PANS! Especially the cute flowered one you took a picture of! I would start a collection if I won this!
So hard to choose! For me it's a toss up between the tartlet pans and a few different sized springforms. I had a nice one with a glass bottom, but a few weeks ago the bottom fell out and I had chocolate cheesecake (and a LOT of glass!) all over the kitchen floor.
Those bunt pans would rock! I'd love it all though

It's a toss up between a tube pan and a deep tart pan… I know tube pans can be found anywhere, but deep tart pans are another story. I guess I'll go with the deep tart pan =)

Oh my goodness, I love these posts!! We have a cake store near me, but it is sooooo tiny and doesn't have nearly the assortment that yours has.
That said, I *love* those square muffin pans! Of course I need a set of graduated pans…or would I rather have those teensy little ones? I could never decide! Ahh! I'm dying to visit a store like this in person…

Oy…just when I thought I had all the pans I could want (okay, need-with the exception of the Wilton King Sized Muffin Pan) you get me drooling over more…I love the mini pans as I really like making individual desserts, but the graduated pans should be in every bakers "stash" and I'm lacking those as well. So many pans…so much fun.

I as well as others I see, love the pan isle as well! I have never tried to use a shaped pan, I usually use my regular 9×13 pan and shape it that way! I have been thinking about trying the shaped pans! I wish that we had a supply store around where I live. They all have closed thanks to the economy! thank you for being so generous!

Holy pans! I would love the ice cream cone ones. I love the cupcakes that are made right in the ice cream cones so this would be a fun thing to do too.

Wowza! Thanks for the pan eye candy. I've certainly never seen such cuteness before! I'd go ga-ga over an individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pan! It would be perfect b/c it's hard to serve ice cream cones at an outdoor party in TX w/o a huge melty mess. THIS would be the perfect alternative!

Oh! This is perfect – I need an angel food cake pan! Too bad I do actually need one of those, or I would have picked one of the other adorable/awesome pan options – like maybe the heart shaped pans, or the movable block pan!
