I didn’t bake anything this weekend. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I think I was still in vacation mode or something. So I guess this is as good a time as any to close out the “Where I Shop” series. This is part 3: PANS! And Cake Art Party Store has a ton of them.
I love this store.
The cake pan aisle just makes me smile, despite it’s overwhelmingly gray disposition. It just makes me happy. I like to think about all the talented people that walk through here in need of the perfect cake pan and the things they create with them. Take all these graduated cake pan sets for instance… I’m in awe of what serious bakers and wedding cake decorators can do with them.
But layer cake pans aren’t the only kind of pan Cake Art carries.
There are loaf pans…
… not to be confused with bread pans.
Bundt-style pans in various designs.
Angel food cake pans.
Tartlet pans. (Fat Daddio’s
… they even have a cute name.)
Doughnut pans. I should get one of these for the next time I try dougnuts.
How about some square pans. Or… regular, mini and jumbo-size muffin pans.
But, when it comes to cake pans, I love these little graduated ones that you can hold in one hand.
And, then there’s these. These are much, much bigger. I don’t know how big they actually go, but I’ve seen some as big as 18 inches wide and 3 and 4 inches deep. That is a serious cake. I think my oven would be scared.
But, the graduated sets aren’t all round. There are heart pans, hexagon pans, square pans, and oval pans… all available in different sizes.
But maybe you just want one pan. How about a sweet teddy bear? In pink, though.
What about a butterfly? Care Bear? Spiderman?
Or maybe you want individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. Too cute!
Or maybe you want a collection of itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans. I want one of each myself. For scale, that’s a container of sprinkles on the left. These ARE cuteness!
What?!?! You don’t want any cake pans? Well, they also have cookie sheet pans. So there.
And, if that weren’t enough, they have pans that try to tempt me to buy them – even though I would probably never use them. This one has blocks you can move around to let you make numbers and letters. I’ve seen it in a large size, but not one this tiny. Again, CUTENESS! I hate this store.

I think I've said this before, but I want to move into that store. I could spend an entire day (and a whole paycheck!) just walking around that place. I would a set of square pans in the different sizes, I'm baking a wedding cake in a few months and I swear the biggest expense will be buying good pans!
What I could USE is an angel food pan, and another 6" round. What I want is… one of everything! The teeny weeny baby sized pans were so so cute! Oh, and I could use some more loaf pans too, maybe on the smaller side.
I stay away from stores like this for just this reason… I'd get lost in the possibilities and then spend WAY too much money every time I walked in the door.

You didn't picture it, but I would love a spring form pan. I tried to make Boston Creme Pie for my boss for his birthday with a regular cake pan…it wasn't a total disaster, but my hubby and I had lots of "extras" the next week! I love the mini pans too! My kids would thing those are super fun!

Practically speaking, I would use a bread pan the most (and I'm curious how it's different from a loaf pan). From an impractical standpoint, I'd love a bundt pan or an angel food pan.

Wow! I could really use some new cupcake pans…regular size and some mini ones! I'm getting ready to make beach themed cupcakes for my daughter's 3rd birthday and man are my cupcake pans in saaaaaad shape :)

I would love any but most of all the graduating cake pans. I am making a one year olds cake soon and it's so much fun using the little pans. Thanks for the chance.
The logical thing to request would be a sheet pan or a much needed bundt cake pan, but I really like the last one with the blocks you move around…so many possibilities!!

I was just at Cake Art on Friday Bakerella! I was talking to Athena, and she said everyone there loves you! (but I mean who could blame them)
I am badly in need of a bundt pan…so thats what I would choose.

I have been trying to find mini pie pans. I had some cheap ones that rusted when I made my pies. I would love to have some!
A pan store for you is like a fabric store formme. Don't you just love the smell of the store. Gives me goose bumps.

My son's first birthday is coming up and I'm going to make him a cake (ok box cake with store bought icing but I'm going to do all the decorating) of something cutesy and that teddy bear is screaming my name! Or aset of small graduated pans…ack the possibilities are endless!
I am desperately in need of some good loaf pans!! I know, how boring, but I LOVE me some good bread! I want that store in my town!

I have to confess a weakness for interestingly shaped Bundt pans, but I would probably get some more cookie sheets, because that's what I really need. Oh, and a half sheet pan!

What an awesome store! I need graduated cake pans, so I can learn to make layered cakes!
Oh, to walk that aisle! It's so hard to pick! I think I would like the number pan though. I've made a commitment to make all of my daughter's birthday cakes (she'll be 2 this year – standup duck pan from Wilton for her 1st!!) and these numbers would be a cute addition to that!
