Pantastic!

I didn’t bake anything this weekend. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I think I was still in vacation mode or something. So I guess this is as good a time as any to close out the “Where I Shop” series. This is part 3: PANS! And Cake Art Party Store has a ton of them.

I love this store.

PANS

The cake pan aisle just makes me smile, despite it’s overwhelmingly gray disposition. It just makes me happy. I like to think about all the talented people that walk through here in need of the perfect cake pan and the things they create with them. Take all these graduated cake pan sets for instance… I’m in awe of what serious bakers and wedding cake decorators can do with them.

But layer cake pans aren’t the only kind of pan Cake Art carries.

Loaf Pans

There are loaf pans…

Bread Pans

… not to be confused with bread pans.

Bundt Pans

Bundt-style pans in various designs.

Angel Food Cake Pans

Angel food cake pans.

Tartlet Pans

Tartlet pans. (Fat Daddio’s… they even have a cute name.)

Doughnut Pans

Doughnut pans. I should get one of these for the next time I try dougnuts.

Square Muffin Pans

How about some square pans. Or… regular, mini and jumbo-size muffin pans.

Small Graduated Pans

But, when it comes to cake pans, I love these little graduated ones that you can hold in one hand.

Graduated Pans

And, then there’s these. These are much, much bigger. I don’t know how big they actually go, but I’ve seen some as big as 18 inches wide and 3 and 4 inches deep. That is a serious cake. I think my oven would be scared.

Heart Pans

But, the graduated sets aren’t all round. There are heart pans, hexagon pans, square pans, and oval pans… all available in different sizes.

Teddy Bear Pans

But maybe you just want one pan. How about a sweet teddy bear? In pink, though.

Shaped Pans

What about a butterfly? Care Bear? Spiderman?

Ice Cream Cone Pan

Or maybe you want individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans. Too cute!

Mini Pans

Or maybe you want a collection of itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans. I want one of each myself. For scale, that’s a container of sprinkles on the left. These ARE cuteness!

Cookie Sheet Pans

What?!?! You don’t want any cake pans? Well, they also have cookie sheet pans. So there.

Number Pan

And, if that weren’t enough, they have pans that try to tempt me to buy them – even though I would probably never use them. This one has blocks you can move around to let you make numbers and letters. I’ve seen it in a large size, but not one this tiny. Again, CUTENESS! I hate this store.

If that’s not enough, they have even more pans.
And, now for some fun.

It’s a Pick a Pan Giveaway!
  • Enter for a chance to win the pan of your choice.
  • Just leave a comment on this post and pick out the kind of pan you want from any of the above. That’s right. You get to pick. Need some jumbo-size muffin pans? Want to try out a set of graduated pans? Hearts? Hexagons? Or maybe you just need some plain old cupcake pans. I know, you really want an assortment of teeny-tiny pans.
  • Well, if you win, I’ll get it for you, or as many as I can get for you with a $50 bill. Sound like fun?
  • Leave your comment with a way for me to contact you if you win (either a blog link or email)
  • Deadline to enter is Tuesday, July 14th at 5 p.m. TIME’S UP! WINNER ANNOUNCED BELOW. (recorded by the time stamp of your comment) The winner will be announced sometime Tuesday evening on this post.

* One winner will be chosen using the Random.org integer generator.

Good luck!

Man… you guys like pans! I didn’t think this giveaway would be that fun because it was so, well, so gray. But, I’m glad you had fun entering. Now for the winner…

Congrats Melissa! You’re definitely getting a set of graduated pans. YAY! And I’ll try to throw in a square muffin pan for you, too. I’ll see how far $50 goes.

  1. I would pick cheesecake pans! BUT itty bitty cheesecake pans if they have them. My best friends' birthday is coming up in 3 weeks and that is his favorite cake in the world! I've never made cheesecake from scratch, and I am using your recipe as a model =D

    martinez.claudia6@gmail.com

  2. Surprise me and pony up any pan(s) you fancy to share!
Anything from you would be a treasure!

  3. I love cupcakes, and i love ice cream! I always wanted to make cupcakes shapes as ice creams but I just can't find a pan for that anywhere! So I'd love to win the individual ice cream-shaped cupcake pans!

  4. I have never seen a store so amazing!!Although I am probably lucky we don't have one or I would be in serious trouble….all my $$ would be spent in there! I love cooking with my kids, and home-make all of their birthday cakes, I would love a chance at some new pans!!

  6. I would love the ice-cream shaped cupcake pan but I would also love to have a variety of pans! I just recently started baking/decorating cupcakes and I love it! The pan aisle for me would be equivalent to walking into a candy store! We are stationed in Hawaii and our selection of pans is limited.

  7. oh this is too exciting. We are having a lego party for my son the end of this month and want to make some lego shapes. Maybe you have ideas? We were thinking of using loaf or bread pans. Love some help.

  10. I want a good pair of straight sided [bread] loaf pans! I have one non-stick sandwich loaf pan and I can make a 2 lb loaf in it but it's nearly gone by the time I'm ready to package it up…so it would be nice to have two 1# loaf pans with tall straight sides so that I can make one and immediately hide the other one from me and my family until it's cool enough to package and freeze. LOL

  50. I would really love to have graduated ovals. :)

  51. Who knew there were so many kinds of pans? I'd love an assortment of mini pans to bake goodies with my daughter! Thanks~

    (hilogirl_96720@hotmail.com)

  52. OK, what a WONDERFUL store! I would have to choose an assortment of "itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, baby-size pans." They are just TOO cute! Thanks for sharing!

  53. That looks like a little slice of heaven right there in that store!

I would have such a hard time picking out pans!!

I can't decide if my favorite are the ice cream cone cupcake pans, or the pans that let you spell out letters. It'd be one of those two choices. Or both, depending on the cost. Hmmm… I could spell my kids names for their birthday, or spell other fun words…. or I could make ADORABLE ice cream cupcakes…. Hmmm…. I'll mull it over. You know, just in case I'm the lucky winner. ;)

  54. Cake pan aisles make me happy, too, which is maybe a little strange. I'd love a set of graduated cake pans, so I can stop having to borrow my mom's…I just moved out on my own, so any cake pan, really, would be totally awesome at this point.

    heathermeade.blogspot.com

  55. ooh the little bitty pans are soooo cute, and I love the number pan too! Oh the ideas are spinning! Love your wonderful ideas, and photos!

  56. It's hard to find a good baking shop here in Australia, they are few and far between. I do have a hankering for a flowery bundt pan though.

I loved your 4th of July post about the letter, very touching.

  57. ooh the little bitty pans are soooo cute, and I love the number pan too! Oh the ideas are spinning! Love your wonderful ideas, and photos!

  58. I was just looking for mini square pans and couldn't find any, like a 5 or 6 inch square would be nice.

Hmmm, what else? a muffin top pan would be fun too!

I love this store and the gray pan aisle makes me smile :-)

  59. OMG!!!! That is a GREAT Place!!!
I could get lost in there! How can you walk out with only 1 or 2 or 3…LOLOL!!! If I picked I would try the one with the little squares or maybe the graduated hexagons…or..itty bitty ones!!!!!
    WOW!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

  60. Wow, I'd probably melt into a puddle in that store.
So very jealous it's not near me.
I'm sort of in love with the ice cream cupcake pans. I've been eyeing those online for ages. lol.
Or, you know, regular ol' cupcake pans, since mine are older than I am and make six at a time. Making cupcakes = one heck of a long day. lol

  61. I'm already imagining the possibilities if i owned that many pans!!
first choice has to go to the heart shaped pans though:D

  62. i would just love a set of round pans–I KNOW, not very imaginative. But i just love a tiered cake that doesn't have a lot of difference between levels: 12", 10", 8", 6". I also love the square cupcake pans and the cone bottom cupcakes. I just love them all!

  63. It's really hard to choose what type of pan to get! I need more cupcake pans definitely, but I think I would also definitely go for the jumbo-size muffin pan. I've been meaning to make carrot cake muffins and it would be great to make HUGE ones.

  64. i wish we had this store too! although i'd probably spend wayy too much money there! i'd pick out a pan that has about 6 small cake shapes (flowers, animals etc) to make small, personalized quick breads for friends.

  65. It's a toss-up between the graduated circles and the cookie sheets. Although if there's a robot pan in there, I'd have to go for that in deference to my almost two year old who loves all things -bot.

  66. I said it before and will say it again, I want to live in this store or at the very least near this store! I am telling you I would be in heaven and probably divorce court as well because ALL of our money would be going directly to this store!!! :)

If I was chosen I would love any type of the graduated pans like you like! Thanks so much for doing yet another awesome giveaway!

  67. What a fun store, thank you for showing us all the wonderful stuff inside it. It is a great thing they do not have one here :) I could really use some new cookie sheet pans!

    mandee220(at)aol(dot)com

  68. Oh my goodness…I don't even know how to choose what I would like. The itty bitty pans are way too cute. Square cupcakes is something I don't have. Those square blocks to make letters is darling too.

    chrisgreedy@hotmail.com

  83. I've been needing a tart pan for awhile! I made a "tart" in a springform pan, and while it tasted fine, it definitely wasn't as pretty. Or an angel food cake pan because I accidently just gave mine away!

  86. What is wrong with me today (other than I am expecting guests and trying to clean a house while my two year old wreaks havoc)??
I would have to go with the mini pans. Of course, the cup cake pans were adorable too! Then again, a great cookie sheet is a must.

  87. I love that pan that creates the mini ice cream cones!

  88. I totally forgot. I got a gorgeous bundt pan for my third annual 30th birthday but have not found a great recipe. Interested in sharing one???

    Thanks,
    Jillian

  89. aww I wish they had a store like that near here! It's actually really annoying trying to find true circular pans; they seem to always have sloped sides. For that, I'd love the graduated circular pans!

  90. I would've never imagined a store like that existed. Does that say something about my baking abilities? I would have to go with a cheesecake pan or the square graduated ones! Thanks.

  91. I might actually have to make a pilgrimage to this store. Perhaps I could convince you to be my tour guide!
As usual, I am loving your posts!

  92. I would love the tart pan. I've always loved seeing it in pictures, but never attempted making any type of tart! The ice cream cone one was also adorable…might make me want to actually bake for my son's next birthday!

    duckie702@yahoo.com

  130. Pick me, pick me! I promised my friend I'd make her wedding cake (I'm a sucker for punishment) and I CANNOT get the pans I need anywhere in town, nor can I get them shipped to Canada without having to forsake my first born. Which I'm not altogether against doing…

I need a 6", 10" and 12" square, 2" deep. Fat Dido would be super.

I've always made fun of people who say 'pick me' when it's a random contest. Being a hypocrite is one of my favoritest things to be. Right after cool and skinny. Oh wait… I'm neither. Doh!

  131. I love baking and I hope to acquire many pans :) But the ones I would probably go for would be the square muffin pan or a fancy wilton bundt pan :)

  132. I love the ice cream cone cupcake pan, it's just awesome! and square muffins! How could you go wrong with that?

  133. How my heart skips a beat seeing all those pans. I am so in envy of you right now. I would love the teeny tiny pans. Heck I would love any of those grey beauties.

  165. Holy, moly….where to start. It's 11:00 p.m. here and I'm baking cakes for a wedding this weekend. The groom's cake fell apart when I took it out of the oven. So I'll be starting that one over, but my husband will have lots of cake scraps this week. I would like the teeny weeny cake pans, they look like fun. Contact at tastycakesandcookies@yahoo.com

  169. Holy cow I am so jealous. I haven't found ONE shop like this in the whole of New Zealand, I don't think they exist over here.

I would die for a set of mini graduated round pans. I so badly want to make a whimsy cake but definitely couldn't eat the amount of cake it would take to make a 6" 8" 10" tiered cake *eek* can you imagine the bloating.

4" 5" & 6" round graduated set would slay me. Two sets would slay me twice over cos then I could bake it all without washing up in between ;) Ah, a dream come true!!

Oh and I'm posting from my fiance's account cos I'm too lazy to sign out and in again!!

  170. Hmmm… I think I would choose some different muffin/cupcake pans. I think that those would be FABULOUS! I would love the teeny tiny pans too though… tough choice!

The pan I want more than anything right now is a giant cupcake pan! I plan on making that for my daughter's birthday in September, but haven't bought the pan yet.

Since you didn't mention that pan though and you said to pick from the ones mentioned, I really need a bundt cake pan, and the mini cake pans are absolutely adorable!

They are all so darn tempting. I need a part time job to pay for my habit! LOL

    bttrflybabydoll[@]gmail[.]com

  187. Being that I just decided today that I'm going to enroll at FCI for pastry school, a collection of teeny tiny pans would make my world amazing. I'd totally make a baby bundt for Jacques Torres! :)

  196. I would love to have the graduated cake pans or maybe even the ice cream cone cupcake pans. That store is wonderful. I wish I had the money to buy everything in it. Of course, I wouldn't have room for it in my tiny two bedroom apartment. I guess I could kick my husband out to make room. Don't tell him I said that. He he! You can contact me at erin_cross@hotmail.com

  197. Oh my goodness-it's like cakepan nirvana! Honestly, I would just love a pair of decent 9" pans… or maybe one of those graduated pan sets plus one additional 8" or 9" pan (depending on what's in the set!) so I could have enough for a dual-layer cake! :)

  198. I would love some circular cake pans of the same size so I can start baking cakes at the same time to stack them! …. and some mini cake pans. EEEK! Want.
