I’ve shown you guys this Cupcake Courier before. It’s been awhile, but I still love it and I wanted to show you a couple more ways you can enjoy it.
First and foremost, it carries cupcakes.
It can hold 36 cupcakes. Or 24 or 12 or any amount in between. Just remove the stackable trays to suit your need.
Perfect for larger batches of cupcakes or taking them to a holiday party or get together.
And if you remove all three trays…
Then you can use it for cakes. And pretty big ones, too.
But here is the best part. The real reason I have fallen deeper in love with this carrier. It allows me to do much more when it comes to carrying my baked goods.
I am talking specifically about cake pops here. Yep, because the courier is so tall, it triples as a handy dandy cake pop courier, too.
It serves multiple purposes. One… it simply allows you to store them upright without having to wrap them in treat bags.
And two… it allows you to carry them more easily to happy recipients. With or without treat bags.
Here … let me show you what I mean.
Tah dah. Perfectly protected pops. Of course you’ll have to imagine them made for full effect. I just used sticks and styrofoam to illustrate the idea.
If you use 6-inch paper lollipop sticks (8-inch sticks would be too tall) and some styrofoam, it will fit just fine in the base of the courier.
Styrofoam blocks come in many sizes and one of the common sizes is 4 x 12 x 2 inches high. Grab two of them and place them side by side on the base and then make 12 holes in each block. You can then easily carry 24 cake pops. And if you can’t find the styrofoam in that size, then cut down a larger piece of styrofoam to 8 X 12.
Either way it’s a great way to get more out of an already handy product. You can find them on amazon.com.
Hope that helps all you guys that are cake popping and cupcake making… and of course, carrying.

Using the inside of wrapping paper roll no part goes to waste. Cutting gift tags on your cricut machine out of inner brown paper bag colored paper inside wrapping paper. Go green!
You can get these carriers at Costco as well. And, they have a few different colors than just white!!
i find it 100 times easier when i use the white candy coating and then just (add food coloring) to the designated color… that way i can bulk u p on 1 color instead of rushing to the store to find 1 specific color! <3
I LOVE this site! I just found it …thanks to ‘Craft Gossip’!
You are so creative..and talented..and imaginative…and helpful! Thanks for all the ideas.
I really love the cupcake, etc. carrier…I am going to get one as soon as I can.
Again, Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Marilyn
Just a quick thought….You can make really pretty stands by shaping playdough into blocks and use a lollipop stick to make a hole approximately 1-2 inches apart. Then bake it until its hard. And….VIOLA! a perfect reusable CAKEPOP STAND!!!! They can be made into any shape, size or color! Use up the old playdough the kids blended…beautiful!!
I have this container too! It’s awesome and I use it a lot. :)
I used it for carrying cakes and cupcakes. :) Love it
I’m more productive when I’ve had my morning coffee!
Is this contest still going?? I have been awaiting the results…..anxiously…..quite anxiously actually.
lol
:D
I feel more productive or creative when I am listening to music!
I turn off the TV and put music on, once I start, I don’t stop until I am done.
Staying off facebook and hanging with the kiddos. Lots of hand make light work. Six kids and one husband make for a crazy life but with everyone pitching in, things get done!
Staying up late helps me to be more productive. I get more done when I’m the only one up and I can have some peace and quiet with which to concentrate on my tasks.
I have found that when I have a great idea for a great dessert, sometimes the cost gets in the way. So I bring the idea to my girlfriends and we all contribute by each of us bring an ingredient or two to make the recipe together. That way, we can add up all the ingredients that eeach of us brings, and end up with one delicious dessert!
I do more homework with less phone time now that I’ve lost my phone…! It is seriously gone. 2 days now. So winning this giveaway would definitely help me out! So don’t you want to…? Help a sista’ out!
Well at this time of year I’m most productive when I’m listening to Christmas music =D
i save all the twisty ties off my bread bags/potatoes, etc.. when i have a a few, i twist a few together and use it to organize all my cords. especially behind the tv! with the game consoles, and dvd player and internet cords… it really helps me stay super organized behind all the cabinets and it helps me clean more efficiently back there!
I’m on a roller derby league and I collect the gals shoe boxes that their skates come it. They are a fantastic size with a hatch lid… I then cover them in pretty wrapping paper on the outside and tin foil on the inside and use them to transport cakes and cupcakes to our derby functions!
My husband would love this to take cupcakes and cake pops to his work!
Pick me pick me!
I try to do all my errands in one trip to save gas if that counts. I try but I’m just not that creative.
i use frozen grated hash browns to make really quick potato soup.
Doing more with less could be decorating the christmas tree as a family. More work done in less time, and lots of family time together.
I gave away a lot of the kitchen gadgets I had acquired through several years of attending various kitchen parties. Now have less clutter in the cabinets and still able to get things done!
Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!
I am an art teacher so I constantly do more with less. With a supply budget of maybe 500 dollars and 182 students to get supplies for it tends to be interesting. My family back home in rural Arkansas has a small farm and we had a HUGE supply of bailing string and square bale bailing wire so I packed a couple of large bags with both and have used it for some pretty cool wire line design sculptures with my students and have used the string to build textured maquettes. One student was ingenious enough to look online and found out how to melt it buy using an iron and some wax paper. We ended up using it as fabric for a bag for their sculpture :) That is how I do more with less. I guess I can see the beauty in junk :)
Rubbing alcohol is great for sanitizing all kinds of things and doesn’t leave any residue or streaks behind on glass!
I use my egg cartons (as a palate) for my daughter when she paints.
I always feel more productive when I’ve started my day with meditation and prayers. If that hasn’t uplifted my spirit for the day, then adding some good music and dancing around while doing chores always helps. :)
I enlist my almost 2 year old to help put the wet clothes in the dryer. It saves time and my back!
I used to check my email through a browser; a few months ago I started using an email client. Now I can check all my email accounts at the same time! That’s doing more with less!
I LOVE the pop carrier! Fabulous! Need it ;)
Hmmm… something I do to be more productive… organization. I know it’s simple, but with 9 kids and 9 different schedules, I NEED to be very organized and that starts with having labeled bins for each of the kids, my husband and myself in our laundry room.
I am most productive when I procrastinate and have a deadline looming over me.
I do more with less by combining my errands into one drive and trip so I save gas. An example would be going to the store, post office and barbershop in one trip, rather than going at different times of the week. This way, I can do more with the money I have because of the less money I have to spend on gas!
In order to save money and be more healthy I am cooking at home from scratch more than ever. Before I start a cooking project – like Thanksgiving Dinner for example – I make a production list of what needs to be done first, second, third, etc. This makes my time in the kitchen more efficient and gives me a work plan to follow. I also plan out all my meals for the week and do my grocery shopping once a week – which saves time AND money.
We DO NOT have a television. LOL Less TV=more of everything else for me.
I like making lists to help me stay organized and save time.
I “borrow” other peoples ideas & recipes from the Internet & test them out on my friends & family! I never take credit for “creating” the item, but I do take credit for making them!
i do more with less by staying organized so that i can better multitask
I’m more productive when I break my time into little chunks of 30 minutes. I get more done because I know I have a break coming up soon!
I love me some cake pops my friend made some that look like ponys they were awesome
I turn on the TV! I always get more done with something good on in the background!
I use floral blocks covered in fabric to hold my cake pops. Super cheap and reuseable!
My husband and I are blessed to be raising a toddler. And because the 2’s are so difficult I have learned to turn every chore I want my son’s help with into a game or a song. Cleaning up a space in the house has not become the amazing race, see if he can beat mommy or daddy. And getting things like dinner, bath time and bed time have turned in to short songs that he can repeat.
This has been a help and a great way to spend time togther, turning ordinary tasks into extraordinary memories.
I buy a set of scrabble letter pieces for $6 without the playing board and play speed scrabble and other word games. By buying just the letters I save a lot compared to the full board game set, and I can use it for a number of fun word games that you can find online!
I really really really really want to win this phone. Last chance!
Compost! Composting for the garden is more for less in so many different ways!
Ack! Todays the last day to enter this contest! Hope I win!
I find there are always a few stray cupcake liners left over whenever I bake cupcakes…I love to save those orphans to use when I bake Sunday morning muffins. Sometimes the muffins are baked in a random assortment of liners but that’s half the fun. :)
My wife would love this
want it!
I know this one is simple, but I used to buy my lunch every day at work because I felt like I didn’t have time to make something, and I justified the expense by thinking the money I spent on lunch cancelled out what I didn’t spend at the store for that particular meal. Wrong. I bring every day now, and it does take some planning and time, but I am saving lots of money and eating way better food.
I’ve done away with a lot of store bought presents this year. Making homemade butter and treats instead. One size fits all!!
A whiteboard helps keep me organized! It works great for a weekly list of things to get done (plus it feels great to erase something once I’ve finished it), reminders, and notes to my husband.
hmmm…i guess my best thing is my coupons. i have a coupon binder that i cut each weeks coupons in. then when the new sales start i make my list and pull my coupons out at home, making my trip to the store super fast, easy and VERY cheap! :)
I use my immersion blender *all the time*. I thought I’d maybe use it a few times a year, but I use it for everything!
I use my phone as my calalnder. That way I never miss anything.
I love to use new ingredients all the time. It keeps things fun!
if I don’t have the music on, I am singing it!
This is going to seem crazy, but when I’m most stressed out, or angry even, I cook/ bake!!!! Some of my best creations have been a result of something negative that I turn into positive!! :)
Cleaning our closets (and house) at least once every other month to get rid of un-necessary items. Somehow we seem to accumulate so much stuff! We have it, either it was a random gift or something we picked up because it was too good a deal to pass up. We constantly have a box in the garage to put the items we come across the house that we feel we no longer need. When its full we drop it off at the donation center. We are trying to create less clutter around the house with things we no longer use, at the same time we could be helping someone else out who needs it more.

Divide and conquer! With two kids, my hubby and I divide the grocery list in half and each take one half and one child. Then our grocery shopping is done in half the time and much less stress!
I’ve found that if I keep a calendar with all my dates I worry a lot less. Making husband and wife and baby a happy family :)
I have that carrier! It is so awesome and so versatile as Bakerella has learned too! As for doing more with less, I was always frustrated by my lack of kitchen counter space and not having one large flat area to roll out dough or fondant, so I recently constructed a custom butcher-block-style cutting board that fits on top of my stove burners…and more importantly, locks into place so it stays put . So I suppose the resulting convenience fits into the “more productive” category too!
O MY CUPCAKES! WHAT DO I CRAVE THE MOST TO DIVE INTO FOR THE HOLIDAYS LETS SEE: HOMEMADE CARMEL
CORN, FUDGE, PEANUT BRITTLE, ROAST DUCK, (OOPS), HOMEMADE PIES ALL OF THEM…JUST LOVE EXCHANGING BAKED GOODIES, AND CANDIES, LOVE IT, LIVE FOR IT, AND IT BRINGS YOU CLOSER TO THE COMMUNITY…HAVE A BLESSED CAKE POPS HOLIDAY.
I like to use up all my vegetables before I leave for a while to make a big pot of soup which I freeze for when I come back.
Handy Dandy reusable totes!
I’ve found that I am much more productive with my baking when I get all of the ingredients out & measured beforehand, rather than during the process. It also helps me to not forget what I have already put in there! Imagine that! :)
I hang my kid’s artwork clothesline style in the kitchen with mini clothespins. This keeps my fridge less cluttered and the kids still get to have their fine work displayed.
I found that I’m a note taker! I write notes to remind myself of all kinds of things…. My life would be incomplete without sticky notes!!! Lol!!!
A kitchen timer. That’s it. Set it for 25 minute blocks of time, and work until the timer goes off. Take a 5-minute break, then do it again. When I use the timer method, I get more done between 8 am and noon than I usually get done all day!
To Do Lists make me more productive! I feel genuinely accomplished when I mark things off my list!
In our family, we made reusable drawstring bags out of holiday fabric a few years ago, and we trade our Christmas gifts in them. We reuse them from year to year so we don’t need to spend on wrapping paper or spend much time wrapping gifts.
My most diverse item is proooobably my laptp……I do EVERYTHING on my computer and without it id probably be lost!
I make to-do lists and listen to music while I’m working away. Works like a charm!
I have a running list of items I need at the grocery store up on my refrigerator. The list has categories broken down like meats, dairy, produce, etc so that when I get to the store everything I need i.e. dairy products is all togther on the list and in the store. (Does that make sense?)
To be more productive while baking and cooking I use a trash bowl. My cooking/baking space is so much cleaner while I am working, but I’m saving time by not having to run back and forth to the trash can! ;)
If you want to save time making cookies, make a double batch, bake what you need, then make the rest into dough balls and freeze. Bring at when needed and bake. Quick and easy later on!
Definitely turn off the computer! Oh, the hours I waste online…so sad, but totally worth it!
We made turkey cake pops for Thanksgiving and were so cute! Thanks! Love your book. I learned if I put a little square of parchment paper down first, then laid the candy corn on it, then laid the dipped cake pop onto the candy corn, they didn’t stick to the underneath surface. Sugar Babies make great heads and colored chocolate makes great waddles and beaks!! Don’t use buttercream if covering with plastic bags. It smears even after setting over night. Royal icing would probably work great.
Had trouble with cake pops cracking after dipping in chocolate, so experimented. If they are frozen…forgot and left in the freezer too long, they crack if you completely cover cake pop in chocolate while still cool even if thawed somewhat. If you leave a little uncovered when dipping, they don’t crack, however, they squeeze out at that spot and look sloppy. Not too pretty when making turkeys if you know what I mean. The best result is room temp. and completely covered. No cracking!!! My guess is when the cake is cold, it is shrunk up, but as it warms, it expands. Kinda like a balloon.
I am most productive when I stay connected online using technology…
I like to use parchment paper for baking cookies and can get by with two cookies sheets! While one batch is baking, I put cookie dough on the second cookie sheet covered with parchment. Then, I use a third piece of parchment and put cookie dough on it. You just keep rotating the parchment paper and cookie sheets. To make cookies the same size, I use a scoop. I have 3 different sizes to make small, med., and large cookies.
How to do more with less? I have in my own house a soda vending machine, when I feel like drinking one, I buy one. At the end of certain period of time, I open the vending machine to recollect my profit!!!
I really like keeping notebooks around for ideas. It doesnt cost much and it helps me later on when I am bored or uninspired to give me new ideas
Making homemade laundry soap saves us a ton of money!
Thanks for the chance!
Recycling helps me do more with less…paper bags, plastic bags, ziploc bags, twist ties, disposable plastic containers definitely get more than one use :)
Homemade gifts – knitted and crocheted. Homebaked gifts – cookies and quickbreads. I re-use butter wrappers to grease pans and to line loaf pans. Comics pages from the newspapers as gift wrappers (especially when my kids were much younger). Using coupons as much as possible. Plan trips to save gas. Seeing frugal habits passed on to the kids is the best reward!
i do more with less by trying to stay organized
When my dog is outside – inside he’s too cute and distracting!
nothing comes to mind at the moment, ….but i am sure a new windows phone will definitively make me more productive
I have been looking for something to carry all of my goodies in for some time now. Everything I see is either too small or just had one type of use…this one is great. Can’t believe that you can fit cake pops in them, that is one of my biggest pains is trying to figure out how I am going to transport my creations. Hope I win!
Running 3-4 times a week helps me to clear my head and release stress, that makes me more productive…..
I’ve found that I am more productive when I write down everything I need to do the night before.
I save my baby’s food jars to make little storage for my things!!!
One way we do more with less is with leftovers. Especially during Thanksgiving time. An example would be using ham for lunch sandwiches and using the leftover turkey for quesadillas or my favorite turkey and tortilla soup!
I have learned that I WAS most productive before Facebook was around. :)
I’m most productive when my little girl is asleep and I have no access to TV and internet! Its amazing how much stuff you can get done!
One way I do more with less is to take old Christmas Ornament balls that may be tarnished or worn looking and give them a new look by wrapping cute strips of fabric around them – using hot glue to hold the fabric in place. Very shabby chic and inexpensive.
I’ve found that running out of ingredients at 2 in the A.M. forces you to be very creative!
When we get gifts or anything that comes with curling ribbon decorating it, I reuse it. I cut smaller pieces (pieces that aren’t all crimped up from where it was originally knotted) and use to tie up small treat bags.
I LOVE my cupcake courier, but when I need to transport more than 3 dozen cupcakes, I also use my cupcake pans to transport the rest.
Strategically timed naps improve my productivity…but only if they don’t spill over into 3 hour lengths :)
Parchment paper gets a lot of use in my house! Not only do I use it to line my baking sheets (it makes cleanup a breeze), but I also use it as a liner under coloring sheets & art activities. It catches all the mess and is fun to color and paint on too!
A nice vintage frame! I put a cloth and glass cover inside and use it as decor and tray on my vanity. The one I’m using right now I painted a light blush pink w/ a tiny bit of gold & put my perfumes on top (:
My mom, being frugal and creative, has taught me that I can make anything with what I have around the house! she can make beautiful delicious meals out of a handful of rice and vegetables.
I have two young boys and after debating over which winter sport to sign up for, we decided to take a break, and wow is it a freeing time. All my friends are off to two nights of basketball, two days of soccer, boy scouts, and more. But our pared down holiday schedule is allowing more time to get homework done and still decorate for Christmas and shop, then still get to bed on time. A new smart phone would sure help us be more organized too!!
i have sticky notes up everywhere- the neon colors catch my attention and remind me of the things that need to be done.
Do more with less…. I can get much more done when my husband is gone for the day. LOL! He loves to distract me.
I just count all the things that make me happy. I tally them all up at the end of the day and try to break my record. HAPPY! Happy! happy. Then i usually TRY to find good things about my day instead of just waiting for them. It helps me be proactive, and optimistic. :)
I find it most productive to keep a basket at the bottom of the stairs and everytime I’m going up, to grab the items that need to go that way while I’m walking up for another purpose. This combo technique saves me from extraneous stair climbing. Not earth shattering, but it helps me. Thanks for the giveaway.
I love using pennies as pie weights!
I try to use everything down to the very last bit and try not to waste. We love to save the ends of our loaves of bread and cracker crumbs for the turkeys on the back of our property.
I make a menu for the week every monday and a grocery list from that. It cuts my shopping time in half!
Getting rid of my TV and cable two years ago was a very effective way to improve my productiviity at home. And now, when some one commments on how cute a commercial is or a new product – I haven’t a clue what they are talking about and have saved millions. Ok maybe hundreds, never was a huge see a commercial gotta buy it kinda gal.
Sidebar—one finds out in this situation just how desperately important TV is in obtaining a boyfriend : )
I’ve found that the gel toilet bowl cleaner cleans showers really well too! Just buy the refill jug, put a spray nozzle on it and you’re good to go!
I use my ipod for many things. it helps me stay organized. it’s entertaining with music, games and wifi internet. And it keeps track or my runs and other workouts.
limiting my internet time makes for a much more productive mom!!
whenever i get homework, i immedielty become much more interested in doing any other kind of work :)
I love to make lists! They keep me productive and always on track!
I found another way to be productive. I realized that last year when I put the holiday decorations away, I thinned the heard as they say. I had completely forgotten that I donated a LOT of decorations, etc. in January last year. This weekend when my hubby got the stuff out I protested that there MUST be more (there was not). I realized I had just enough to do it up right and got it all done in a day. Now I can sit back and enjoy the family and get to the most important part…the BAKING!
I love making my own cards and gift tags. I love decorating them and personalizing them for each person I give them to.
I fold my laundry right out of the dryer into separate baskets for each member. It saves me from getting cold wrinkled laundry and then I don’t have to look at the loads and loads of unfolded laundry.
To be more productive at getting my school work one, I force myself to actually go to the library and sit in view of everyone else. When I see them all working hard it inspires me to do the same. Plus, I can’t jut sit idly watching old episodes of Dexter on my laptop when other people might see!
hmm…I’m more productive when I’m not procrastinating
I take plastic shopping bags and cut them into strips. Then I use them when quilting by pinning them over the batting so it won’t get snagged while I stitch on my sewing machine.
We cook for the week on Sunday. We cook a couple of meals and sides enough to have some variety and sometimes there is even enough to freeze for those emergencies. it makes me feel like I have some extra time during the weeknights and after a full day at the office I don’t have to stand another hour or two to cook dinner.
My kids are really better at this than I am…they see endless uses for any packaging, string, wrapper, or container. They are constantly pulling stuff from the recycle bin. I should just be pleased with their creativitiy, but sometimes I just want the empty oatmeal canister to be gone!
I used to throw out so much fresh parsley. A recipe would call for 1T and I’d have to buy a whole bunch. Now I chop up the bunch and stick it in the freezer.
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…for a new phone!
I am most productive when I set a time limit. Then I know that I only have to do whatever I’m doing for 10 minutes or so, like cleaning, organizing, bill paying, whatever! Music makes everything more fun as well!
I do more with less when I coupon shop and spend less money and stretch my dollar. Love the cupcake/cake holder!
Doing more with less sometimes means reusing grocery bags, or buying the recyclable types and using those. Saves the environment and saves the grocery stores money, which in turn saves you money.
More with less…just cutting out “the more” ( trips to restaurants, coffee shops etc…) will help you see how “much of the less” you actually have! For productivity, ha ha ha, the apple-peeler-corer-slicer. Talk about productive! You can make anything with apples in a 10th of the time! I love it!
Hmm…..more with less? Probably planned leftovers in the freezer. For example, I make a double batch of banana pancakes every weekend, then freeze the extras on a cooling rack, and move them into plastic bags once they are hard. I pop them in the toaster for a homemade breakfast for my son during the week.
Music makes me more productive at work. I just pop my head phones on and off I go! If I forget my iPod I seem to procrastinate more and spend far too much time on the internet.
I procrastinate with baking, so if I want to get lots of baking done all I have to do is it down and try to study.
I use Ebay to buy things! Some great deals I’ve found so far include earphones for my ipod for a dollar, my wedding dress for 200 bucks, and a hair iron.
The most productive thing I’ve discovered, even though it’s been around for eons, was cleaning with white vinegar and water. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has cleaned my windows better than this combo. They’re beautiful. The smell dissipates quickly and it’s DIRT cheap!! I’ve read this tip before but never used it until recently.
I have found many ways to use the extra cream cheese frosting when i make red velvet cookies, its great on strawberries, cupcakes and almost anything else!!!! not a single drop ever goes to waste :)
you can keep a pie in a gallon ziploc bag (pan and all) rather than search for special pie storage containers!
I save my egg cartons, and reuse them for many things. When I am decorating cookies or cakes and have an assortment of sugar candies and decorations…. I sort them out by type and color, one per section.
My work station stays organised, and I can close the box if I need to take a break.
I make a little extra at dinner so that both my husband and I have lunch to take to work the next dayl It saves on purchasing pricy luncheon meats.
A few months ago I moved from NJ all the way to CA…I’m learning how to get by with less “stuff”, since I could only pack the essentials!! It’s kind of liberating to not have useless junk around!
I’m more productive when I’m given a deadline!!
One thing that helps me be more productive is to set timers. Sounds crazy, but if I only give myself 15 minutes to clean a room, I clean like a whirlwind!
Everytime I come home from the store my black lab greets me with a wagging tale expecting a new toy and needless to say she has a box over flowing with them well today I grappec an empty water bottle and stuffed it in an empty sock talk about doing more with less she was busy for hours
One example of me doing more with less is simply turning off and unplugging electronics and appliances. Sometimes people forget and it adds up to the costs. As time goes by, spending a few little seconds on turning appliances off can really make a difference and save more money, more money to spend on stuff I want! I only turn things on when I need to!
i make my meals ahead of time so on the days i work i only have to put the ingredients together/microwave everything. great when you have a toddler
Why yes it is!
Wow!
i use an upturned large ice cream container to carry all my cakes. I put the cake on the lid and the put the container over it. Its a great way to use old ice cream containers…
I keep a Google calendar and have created a separate calendar for various parts of my life: family, school, bills, etc. I can view any combination of calendars at a time, so it helps keep everything in order.
I like using toothpicks
Using less makeup brings out more beauty.
I try to write lists out so I c an getseveral things done at thesame time
I found using a pastry bag with no tip to fill my cookies works tons better than filling them with a knife.
I save time and money by making lists and sticking to them when I shop or when I have chores to do around the house.
I like to make lists so that I can plan ahead
I use baby wipes to remove makeup, as a stain remover for clothes when you are out and about and have a mishap, and for general clean-up with 7 grandkids!
I cook all my hamburger in bulk, then freeze the cooked burger in one pound bags. When I want to make BBQ or tacos or casserole, the meat is already cooked and drained, so I don’t have to make a big mess for a simple meal!
I could use this to store my Whoopie Pies.
There are a couple things that I can think of…
When cooking meats for my family (say, grilling chicken, beef, etc…) I cut it into smaller portions instead of a whole steak or breast… My family eats way less and the food goes farther…I can feed 4 and one lunch leftover with 2 chicken breasts.
Another thing, when I take my kids to the movies, I bring extra paper or plastic bags so when we get popcorn they each have their own without the fights or passing back and forth.
Instead of buying gifts this year for my co-workers I have decided to make makeup brush holders. You buy pretty glass jars. Put some glass beads in the bottom and tie a ribbon around the jar. They put their brushes down in the beads. It’s really pretty when done. You could also do this with glass candles when they are used up to reuse them.
We are scaling back on Christmas. Only buying for the kids with family…. and making sure to really only do 3 gifts for our boys. Baby Jesus got 3 gifts from the Wise Men, so we will too :)
I am much more productive with lists. For everything! (and much less forgetful!)
Less is more is great for Christmas. Instead of letting the shopping get out of control, we do something to read, something to wear and something to play with. It helps us to set limits.
instead of having random keepsakes from my life in a million places, I have a shelf of photo boxes, each labeled with a specific year. Any picture, meaningful card, ticket stub, napkin, etc that I want to keep this year will go in the 2010 box. Then, each year on New Years Eve I go through the box from 10 years before. Everything has a specific place and it’s always a fun trip down memory lane :)
Thank you for hosting such a fabulous giveaway!
toothpicks and ziplock bags are great when doing small details on cakes and cupcakes!
I love finding different ways to use my cooking stones. There are so many things you can do with them!
I leave my phone upstairs or in another room while I study so that way I don’t get distracted by any possible incoming calls or texts! It does wonders for my productivity (otherwise I’ll be checking every few seconds) and I have fun looking at the texts all at once (it’s almost like opening presents on Christmas :D).
m and ms are probably my favorite more with less candy. i use them to decorate cakes, i use them in counting games with kids, and they just taste good :)
I have found about a million uses for cupcake pans! I make mini brownies, but they can also be used for fun with the kids. I give them a pile of assorted buttons and let them sort them however they want in the cupcake holes. They LOVE it.
When I was in design school, I found that having no money (and working with other students who also had no money) forced us to be a lot more creative!
I wrap my cookie dough in plastic wrap and put a magazine on top of the plastic wrap. Then I start rolling out the dough- the dough turns out more even this way
I have discovered that a box of spice cake mix, a 15 oz can of pumpkin puree, and 1/2 cup of water makes DELICIOUS pumpkin muffins that are only 2 Weight Watchers points each! :)
I like to use the large ends of my icing tips to cut out cute little fondant button sizes!
I have a cake carrier similar to yours but it is only one level deep. I love yours! I wonder if we can get those here in the UK?
I use clear pill boxes to put my small earrings in. They keep them organized and untangled.
If you don’t have a pastry bag or can’t find icing tips that make the particular shape you want, one of my favorite tricks that I’ve used on numerous occasions is to cut the corner off a Ziploc bag and use it to pipe the icing!
I use a blue ice chest to carry cold items and a red ice chest to carry warm items when we go to large family dinners.
Reusing glass jars. For storing pasta, drinking glasses, to make candles in.
My Kitchen Aid Mixer…
I’ve found that lighting a candle in each room helps keep me productive. The wonderful smells motivate me to clean when I should!
I’ve found that joining “frequent buyer” clubs at any and all places I shop gets me lots of coupons and special sale days. Stein Mart sends me coupons in the mail for special sale days, my coffeehouse gives me $2 off for every $20 I spend, Office Max gives me store credit for my used ink cartridges, and CVS gives me coupons with just about everything I buy!
I still have yet to break down and buy a rolling pin, even having to bake 3 pies for different events the last few weeks. A round glass or my hands work just fine!
I use Ziploc bags for everything! Not just food!
Coffee makes me productive. :) I also like to take old, ugly thrift store dresses and turn them into something I’d actually wear. Removed shoulder pads can make cute Christmas ornaments. True story.
I may be the last person to realize this, but, three months ago with the arrival of my new front loading washer/dryer, I made a solemn promise to myself that clothes did not get to leave the laundry room until they were folded. No more pig-piles that never got folded and were forever on my bed.
Small thing; BIG payoff!
Traditional moose country do more with less- Save the moose nuggets from your yard. Shellac them and make gross gag gifts like moose nugget earrings or moose nugget swizzle sticks!
Specifically with cake pops, I keep the plastic wrap on the foam blocks for easy wipe down. This lets me be more productive by not having to purchase new blocks all of the time!
I power clean for 15 minutes a night so in the morning it is not so messy
I use baking soda for everything, it makes a wonderful cleaning product, odor absorber, and of course for baking!
I participate every year in a cookie exchange during the holidays. I recycle the containers that I receive each year and put baked goodies in them for gifts for my family!
I am most productive when I manage to get my family get involved in something in a different room.
My company frequently purchases Subway platters for meetings and orientations. I keep the platters and their lids and use them to transport cupcakes and treats to my son’s school and/or daycare. The lids fits nicely, it has a nice height so as not to squash anything and better still, I don’t care if they throw it away or if it gets lost!
Organizttion is my plan for productivity!
I like to put distractions like phones and figity-items out of sight. Whats out of sight is out of mind… allowing me to be much more focused and get a lot more work done.
I love to re-purpose egg cartons…they can be used for so many things, including holding up cake pops!
I have that carrier and I love it too! i found that I can use my offset spatula to luft the cupcakes out of the carrier without messing up the icing. yay!
