I’ve shown you guys this Cupcake Courier before. It’s been awhile, but I still love it and I wanted to show you a couple more ways you can enjoy it.
First and foremost, it carries cupcakes.
It can hold 36 cupcakes. Or 24 or 12 or any amount in between. Just remove the stackable trays to suit your need.
Perfect for larger batches of cupcakes or taking them to a holiday party or get together.
And if you remove all three trays…
Then you can use it for cakes. And pretty big ones, too.
But here is the best part. The real reason I have fallen deeper in love with this carrier. It allows me to do much more when it comes to carrying my baked goods.
I am talking specifically about cake pops here. Yep, because the courier is so tall, it triples as a handy dandy cake pop courier, too.
It serves multiple purposes. One… it simply allows you to store them upright without having to wrap them in treat bags.
And two… it allows you to carry them more easily to happy recipients. With or without treat bags.
Here … let me show you what I mean.
Tah dah. Perfectly protected pops. Of course you’ll have to imagine them made for full effect. I just used sticks and styrofoam to illustrate the idea.
If you use 6-inch paper lollipop sticks (8-inch sticks would be too tall) and some styrofoam, it will fit just fine in the base of the courier.
Styrofoam blocks come in many sizes and one of the common sizes is 4 x 12 x 2 inches high. Grab two of them and place them side by side on the base and then make 12 holes in each block. You can then easily carry 24 cake pops. And if you can’t find the styrofoam in that size, then cut down a larger piece of styrofoam to 8 X 12.
Either way it’s a great way to get more out of an already handy product. You can find them on amazon.com.
Hope that helps all you guys that are cake popping and cupcake making… and of course, carrying.

I use AVON bubble bath to clean the shower and glass. Works great!
November is a VERY productive month for me…….I make casseroles that I can double and freeze the second one for using during the month of Dec. When I spend the day decorating, baking, shopping, cleaning, or just playing with the kids, I can pull out a casserole, pop it in the oven and dinner is a snap. PLUS, if we get an unexpected snowfall, I don’t have to worry about running out of food!! Thanks for the chance at a new phone, my old one is soooo old and I have 4 little kids, it really would help to have an upgrade!! BAKE ON, my baking friend!!
I just try to keep organized! If I have lists and know what I need, it results in less mindless purchases and less waste at home.
When I quit going on Facebook! Wow the things I can get done, and I feel so much better about it. I also love to have some music (Christmas now) going in the background. That makes any job much easier and enjoyable!
I’m always making lists to keep myself as organized as possible, and limiting my magazine subscriptions cut down on waste and clutter. I love the carrier!
I use clear plastic cups as “boxes” for my cupcakes to give to my friends… simply place the cupcake on a small plate and turn the cup upside down to cover the cupcake and then tape the cup to the plate.. it’s a nice and easy way to ‘box” small amounts of cupcakes without ruining the frosting on top :)
I use that rubbery/foam type of shelf liner for something other than lining! I place a small piece of it in my round cake carrier and when I place the cardboard on which I set my cake on it, it keeps it from sliding! Yay- now when I make a sharp turn while driving, no smooshed frosting.
I use my son’s (clean) play-doh rolling pin to bake sometimes. It gets into smaller places easier or if I need to get flatten a little piece of dough I don’t need to dirty up my big rolling pin.
Easy! I post a message on my social networks about the party I will host on my house, and all my friends know about it and know they’re invited to! That way I don’t have to call everyone anymore! :D
My beautiful color aqua Kitchenaid !
; )
Keeping a dry-erase calender helps me keep all of my days well planned out, and has help save a few trees! Its metal, so I can hang things up on it with magnets also.
Up-cycling is the way to go! From scraps to hole punched holes, I try to use everything and reach for my crafty side of the brain. It makes me think instead of purchasing more and more items that I definitely don’t need!
I found I’m much more productive when my laptop is turned OFF! And my husband is much happier that I’m not distracted by it :)
If something takes fewer than 10 minutes to do, I do it now. I never procrastinate.
I use my sewing machine like a mad woman! I’m short so it’s hard to find jeans my size, so i just hem them myself! Along with using it to make repairs to everything else around the house.
I have found that if I cut coupons then I can do a lot more with the money we have! Every little bit helps.
I re-invent leftovers until they are gone :)
I’m more productive when I am concentrating or have a music so i can concentrate
I have an old fashion citrus juicer with a liquid measuring cup attachment. I use it all the time, because it is big enough to measure and mix.
My pocket planner. It organizes my life!
I’ve been more productive by working in my office at my desk not at the dining room table! And lists, they always make my world go round!
To remove strawberry stems, I use a straw. Push it from the bottom all the way through the top. Pull the stem out of the straw. Fill the strawberry w/chocolate or cream, then dip. Yummy!
Always great ideas, thanks again! This is another great cupcake carrier that allows for cupcakes with decorations and is also collapsible http://tiny.cc/leoy2. Keep up the good work, you’re always inspiring new ideas. :)
I have hundreds of cookies cutters and use them for stencils when I am not making yummy cookies!
i bought a whole bunch of decorative lunch bags and started using these instead of wrapping paper, easier than wrapping paper and cheaper than gift bags
That carrier looks awesome! :)
I am a terrible procrastinator (and Internet lover). So to help with motivation, I set myself very tight dates to be done with a specific task.
Whatever works! :)
I use Microsoft Outlook to run my life. I just upgraded to the 2010 version and it is amazing!
My husband and I just bought a house, and instead of buying all new things to decorate it with, we’re trying to use all the random things we already have. Altering and revamping them so they fit this place and our new life here. I don’t know if that’s technically “more productive” but it is “cost efficient” for sure!
Well I may be a a little bit lame, but I just figured out to use my glass cake stand flipped upside down as a punch bowl. What a wonderful, beautiful additional use for something I would have never thought of. Thank you create channel!
You know what I found that shoe boxes can be your best friend. You can poke holes in the cake to make a CAKE POP CARRIER and inside the box you can hole more cake pops. Also you can use the shoe box as a cupcake carrier just by lying it with foil!
doing more with less could mean budgeting and adhering to it. It allows us to save properly and spend wisely
I make my chicken stock when I have leftover bones from roast chicken then freeze it in ice cube trays to save time when cooking later on.
I am a born multi-tasker! I can’t even help but do more than one thing at a time but it helps to stay organized and write things down. I don’t use the standard planners. WHenever I buy them, they are full of entries and by March totally blank because I do better with lists. I often wondered if there’s a gadget out there that would be useful to me and I believe this is it. I had a rough week and hoping this is my silver lining!!
Love all the great ideas! Mine isn’t original, but it certainly saves my day. I cook extra large portions of meals that are my kids favorites, then bag them in smaller portions and freeze. In the mornings when assemblying lunches, I microwave whatever meal my kids choose and plop it into their thermos (nope – none of the kiddos are sandwich folk).
Making menus has helped grocery shopping and I have less waste!
I love your blog. We do more with less by cutting coupons and using blogs to find good deals.
I love that I recently found out a trick everyone already knows– I have learned to use my cake stand as a trifle dish. Just turn it upside down. Works great!
Baking soda for cleaning the toilet bowl! :)
The tip that helps me to be more productive when taking baked goods to functions is to place a sheet of the rubber shelf liner in the trunk of my car and then place my cake carrier of containers on top of it so that they don’t slide around.
I have a picnic basket that doubles as a dessert carrier as well, best part is you can still transport some things while fresh out of the oven, because there is a cloth liner on the inside.
To get me going I need some good music to listen to and to make sure I get the important things done I keep track of them in my busy body book organizer.
Well I’ve found lots of ways to do more with less… I’ve been using my sewing machine A LOT these days. Turns out if you have some pretty sheets that you no longer use, they make pretty decent curtains! We’ve been “up-cycling” everything we can in this house. Clothes my girls no longer fit in? They are now baby-doll clothes and blankets. Junk mail and such gets used by the girls as art paper til it’s recycled. Etc. Etc.
I am more productive when I am having a good hair day, I guess something about knowing you look good makes you want to do more.
I find turning on music while taking a shower in the morning wakes me up in the morning. I don’t need any coffee and i’m good to go :)
Well considering that the prize is a windows phone I find my all in one to rather ironic! It’s my iPhone. Before I bought my little friend I endured endless ramblings about it’s life changing capabilities. Now having owned one for over a year o can honestly say it has changed my life in a most remarkable way! Gone are the days of searching my purse for a pen and paper to jot a note. Gone are the days of tearing recipes out of waiting room magazines. No longer do I have to leaf through over sized atlas’ during spontaneous road trips. You see my little friend as solved a world of issues. And the best part is that she has saved me some big bucks in the wallet arena too! I have a phone and Internet access and television shows and music and camara and note pad and daytimer and contacts list and to many other things to list for under a hundred bucks a month. She ( my iPhone) as become the child I’ve never had! And I do love her dearly!
When I’m extremely busy, nothing like 30-minute power naps to make my days and nights more productive. It’s not something to do all the time, but certainly helps when one needs just a couple of days of extreme productivity!
I use Kool Aid Lemonade powder as my soap to clean the dishwasher. You are going to be surprise by how shiny it looks after is done! The best thing is that I only pay $0.20 per envelope, now that’s doing more with less! :)
I had my husband take some leftover wood from our covered patio he has been working on and make me cake pop stands. I no longer have to worry about Styrofoam, I can paint the wood any color I want, and the pieces are sturdy and heavy, so they will never tip over from being unbalanced. AND, we can hose them off if they get dirty. And I can store them anywhere without worrying about them being damaged. SO much more convenient than the Styrofoam =)
I do more with less redundancy by syncing my files using Windows Live Mesh.
Cupcake liners! I use them for every thing!!!! I put candy in them, and little cake balls! I use really cute pink foil ones! I love ’em!
Toward the end of each year, I go through our closets and take out the clothes that we don’t use anymore or my kids have outgrown and donate to local charities. We get more space, help others and can use the donation on tax day.
We try to do more with less money. We traded a loftier lifestyle for a bigger family, so although money is tighter we have the family we always wanted. It can be a challenge trying to stretch our budget to the absolute max, but it forces to be creative, lol! Happy Holidays!
Double ended cotton swabs are something I always have on hands. Great for putting on and removing eye makeup, dusting the crevices of tiny objects. painting dots on craft items, putting ointment on a skinned knee…the list goes on!
I started using coffee filters to drain greasy cooked meats, like bacon. They work great!
This is kind of silly, but I hijacked this one REALLY obnoxious sounding bell that my kids’ had in their music box. I keep it in the kitchen and ring it whenever it’s time to eat. They can hear it all the way upstairs- almost immediately I hear the sounds of their feet running across the floor. I used to yell and yell and finally go up there to get them- now that bell does the trick like magic. It’s awesome! (cuz I’m lazy, haha) :-)
Thanks for the AWESOME giveaway Bakerella!
So random but I use a huge old horse doorknocker for a hand towel holder in my bathroom!!
Doing more with less is so easy! For instance, I keep old newspapers and magazines that we don’t read anymore and I cut them up and use them for wrapping paper! I wrap gifts for birthdays and baby showers with pages. Most of the time, I find really neat pictures, and fun quotes. The wrapping is unique and I love the craftiness of it. It’s one way for me to get my creative juices flowing, while also putting some serious thought into my friend’s or family member’s gift. It always gets attention at parties, and it’s just another way I like to be “green.”
A good old fashion list helps me stay productive and organized.
I do more with less by cooking in big batches. Having precooked chicken and beef helps me get dinner on the table quicker! It is healthier than buying precooked preprocessed stuff but just as convenient.
I’m most productive while sitting in meetings. I draft up schedules and to do lists like I can never do at my desk. Makes going to a meeting not so bad!
I juse mason jars of all sizes for drinking, leftovers and storing stuff. They are so handy.
I find baking soda makes me more productive! It’s great for cleaning sinks (in a pinch), putting in the bath to soften skin, baking and so on! And its not bad for the environment!
My google calendar. So much less wasted time when I have everything going on for the day at my finger tips and not on bits of paper everywhere.
We just painted our kitchen and great room using the paint that includes the primer… what a saver! Time and money both! That works for me! :)
I bake and freeze holiday treats so that I don’t kill myself during the holidays! It’s awesome to just run to the freezer and pull out some truffles to box up for someone.
Strangest thing makes me productive at the computer or when I’m sketching cake and cupcake ideas – Intervention episodes on Netflix. I’m addicted. I need an intervention for Intervention. But It’s great to have on in the background while I’m working!
I re-fashion my clothes all the time…..I consider myself staying green…..I take men’s button down shirts turn them into sun dresses…..jeans into shorts, tshirts in to tank tops…. regular shirts into skirts..when I have something for a while and it goes out of style, I re-fashion it into something NEW for myself…I’m not wasting money on the changing trends, and I LOVE to sew, so it’s a THRIFTY HOBBY for me!!
I am more productive when i have my headphones blazing and i get too work plus i am able to do more on my many projects.
I turn off my internet. My productivity increases by three fold!!! :)
I could do more if I didn’t always have my phone with me. No matter where i am, I always have to check my facebook (sad I know), twitter, email, or just like to search on the internet.
I always have to have music to sing along to (badly) when doing the dishes… or they don’t get done!
You know those huge scoops they give you in boxes of dry laundry detergent? I have researched and then experimented and have found that you really only need to use 2-3 TABLESPOONS of the detergent to be effective. Huge way to save some cash!
This might be a little too simple, but I do more with less by always having my laptop with me. Nowadays, since I’m in college, it seems like everything is being moved online, from turning essays in to math homework. It definitely helps me do more when I have free time and I have less stuff to carry around!
I try to put ingredients away as I use them…makes cleaning up much simpler!
I am most productive when I have a good book to look forward to. Strange I know, but it works!
I read bakerella and save lives with what I learn.
Though it may seem counter-intuitive, I know that reading through all of the comments and replies on this site makes me more productive. Maybe not in this moment, but certainly in the future–I’ve picked up so many great tips!
Really weird but.. I use milk of magnesia as a face primer for days when I’m oily & it keeps me shine free.
I recycled the cotton batting from an old quilt and am using it as snow in my Christmas village display this year.
I am loving that carrier! WOOT WOOT! I love to use old toilet paper rolls to hold all my husbands extension cords, they wrap up so nice and clean in those things! And it makes for a perfect way to organize and not get tangles!
I made a private family Facebook page with a spot for each family member to make their Christmas wish list! We even added links to items for shopping on the web. We even added sizes that we wear and the colors that we like. Everybody is thrilled to be able to buy gifts that are exactly what someone wants. We even got the men to add their wish lists too. My 17yr. old loved surfing the web and making his list. (and so did I)
First of all, what a cool giveaway!
Leftover chinese rice makes wonders! You know how you always have some left after? Well I score 2 meals out of those containers! First, make I make a simple risotto and if I still have some rice left, I make arancini (fried rice balls) the next day. No one even notices that we’ve been eating rice for the whole week!
I started using the old baby food jars and plastic containers to organize my medicine cabinet and jewelry; qtips, ponytail holders, manicure sets, etc. They are the perfect size and see-through!
And the red velvet cake looked SO GOOD!
I always save and reuse the plastic containers we get from Chinese food. They’re great sizes and we can send them home with company without caring if we get them back :)
tissue paper!
not only that they can help wipe runny noses..but the’re fantastic for art works too.with PVA glue,we can create anything we like.=)
Linda Said…When I bake I like to have music playing..
I find that making a big batch of buttercream is really useful. You never know when someone wants you to make them some cupcakes, so having a big batch saved is one less step! Oh and a nice mixer always helps :P
As my dad would say “We work our plan, and plan our work”. I find I work better when I have a clear plan what needs to be done, whether it is making a grocery list and daily meal plans, or daily tasks at work or home. Taking Thanksgiving in stride today one item at a time. Makes the holiday much more enjoyable.
When we got married a couple of years ago I bought these white flower pots to use for our centerpieces and to this day i continue to find ways I can use them around the house or at parties that I throw, love them!
Making old jewellery into new and interesting pieces. Recycling and saving time looking for something that you can never find as you have a specific idea in your head!
Ps – Please bring your book tour to London!
Mason jars are great for orginizing everything from baking supplies and spices to needles and thread and buttons!
I use SKOY cloths instead of paper towels or dish cloths. They are AWESOME!!! Made of cellulose, so they don’t harbor bacteria. You just wet ’em and wipe….then throw over the faucet or wherever you would leave a dishcloth to dry. They dry quckly, last forever (I’ve been using the same one for 5 month), and are cute. No more STINKY, bacteria ridden kitchen sponges. No more landfill-filling paper towels. LOVE THEM! (I get mine on amazon). Used those to launch my idea of giving everyone a pack of “green” kitchen items for the holidays – including reusable produce bags, LunchBots tin snack containers for lunches, etc. Also, the item I use most in my kitchen is blue wall tape (the kind you use when you paint). I use it to seal cereal and other such bags, grab a strip to write the “opened” date on food items, use it to close those weird boxes that want to stay open such as tapioca or barley boxes (I also write the “open” date on the tape for those). Love it!
I’m productive when I’m not on twitter or facebook and that means I need to hide my iphone somewhere. :D
Save all the plastic containers that take-out comes in. Who need to buy tupperware?
I’m not the most productive but this year, I premade as many thanksgiving dishes as possible the day before. I got up early to work on the turkey and other then assembling the rolls and stuffing, I’ve had nothing to do. I can actually sit down!
Just had to say I have 2 of those carriers and love them! I was wondering how I could utilise them for carrying cake pops, which I plan on trying soon….now I know, thank you!
I always have music on to keep me focused. I also “unplugging” helps me focus on my kids and set that example for them as well.
I’m more productive when there are sweet sugary things to put together into a beautiful creation. I am also more productive when my seven children are not licking the bowl.
Before Christmas or Birthday we have the kids purge their toys and donate them so that they can make room for the ones that they get from our very large and generous family.
My KitchenAid…It makes me feel complete!
to be more productive i just play classical music and turn off my internet!
I am definitely more productive if I have music on! I’m able to clean or do dishes faster (and to the beat!) if I’m listening to music! :)
I’ve found myself to be way more productive when I isolate myself and blast Pandora! Away from my noisy family and TV in the background.
my planner. i have THE worst memory so i have to write down everything that’s going on in my planner – such a life saver! happy thanksgiving!
I am most productive when I am using my new Windows Mobile phone – I am in love!!!
I will use it for my x’mas party.. Cheerz PS
P.S.
I have this carrier (same color too) and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!
This year I’m being more productive by NOT shopping for gifts.
That’s right…the family will be getting tins of cookies made by me using my late mother-in-law’s recipes. They haven’t had these baked lovelies in over 13 years and since I was given the coveted recipes when I married my hubby, I’m makin’ them and giving them as gifts.
Best part…my hubby and son can help and it’s going to be a bunch of gifts made with LOVE, no stress required!
Happy Holidays All…
I love my electric teapot that boils water in 90 seconds, makes making tea and oatmeal so much easier and faster!
A garage sale every summer keeps us from collecting too much clutter, and helps to pay for the kids to attend camp! Less clutter in the house keeps my brain free to be more creative!
Definitely having a smartphone helps in being more productive because I can keep my calendar, contacts, reminders all in one place, as well as having internet capability to look up stuff when I’m on the go. I love being able to check my email on my phone!
I teach little kids, and we use foil pie pans (and sometimes regular glass pie pans) for EVERYTHING. Paint trays, glitter catchers (great around the holidays!), put salt in the bottom and have kiddies practice “writing” their letters with their finger, etc. They are invaluable!
I just learned that I can bake cakes in empty fruit tins- makes for some interestingly shaped cakes, recycling saves on landfill and I don’t have to buy special tins. Fruit tins make great tins for fruit cake and soup tins can be used for date rolls or to make a yule log. Just line them and away you go.
I am most productive in the morning, but too greedy with my sleep to get up and enjoy that time of day. Oh well…
We save the “bag” out of the empty cereal boxes. The bag is thicker than plastic wrap; and when used in the microwave, it does not adhere to breads or veggies. A couple seconds to warm up rolls or pastries, or to hold a few ears of corn on the cob.
An old fashioned grocery list, helps me be efficient. I cannot grocery shop without a written list. I won’t forget anything and I won’t buy anything unnecessary :-)
I have doing some flying with Fly Lady and it is helping me keep things simple, declutter, and dejunk! Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication — Leonard DiVinci quote!
to do more with less, we make home made gifts.
to be more productive with cooking now that I am working, I use the crock pot a lot for dinners.
Jen VG
I try to plan in advance as much as possible
during the holidays i give coupons for watch your kids for 1 hour or clean your house. its cheap and easy and everyone is happy
When I cook I use the Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K22069.desc.Rachael-Ray-10-Melamine-Garbage-Bowl
It really saves me from spilling trash on the floor when I’m carrying stuff to the garbage, and it’s a lot easier to bring with me from counter to counter than dragging my garbage can. I save time and it’s clean. I always used to watch her use this on the show and wonder what the point of it was…but now I know! It’s amazing!
We gave up cable, rediscovered VHS and get 49 cent classics from the thrift store. My 10 year old had never seen Back to the Future… Sister Act… Galaxy Quest. What was old is new again, she loves it!
If I schedule ahead of things, it helps me be reminded earlier and not stressing out remembering something I had to do the day of.
I like to quilt and one time I made a large quilt without buying one piece of new fabric. I made what I had work, and it turned out pretty good. I think sometimes we think we need more than we actually do!
Instead of having my 3 kids fight nightly over who’s turn it is to set the table, clear the table and feed the cats, they now get one of the 3 hated chores for a whole month. Calendar is marked, no fighting and most importantly I don’t get stuck doing the jobs just to avoid the fighting.
I use q tips to clean my waffle maker….gets in all the right spots!
I think sandwich bags serve many purposes. One purpose that is super easy for me is to use them to pipe wording or designs on cupcakes, cakes, chocolate covered pretzels, etc. Its so much cheaper than spending the money on piping bags!
One example of me doing more with less is carpooling with friends to school (when I don’t take the train). Being college students, we’ll save all the money we can and it’s so convenient that I have a group of friends that all live pretty close! It’s fun to see each other in the mornings, ha and eat breakfast on the go. It’d be so awesome to win! The interface looks fun!
I try to do small things every day to keep the house clean/get started with laundry etc. With 2 young kids and 2 working parents it makes the weekends much more enjoyable when we aren’t spending all day doing housework.
Ooh, I could use a carrier like that. Last time I was transporting a cake (a coconut cream cake for my boyfriend’s mom who lives 100 miles away!) I put it on a ceramic cake plate my father made, swathed it in plastic wrap and foil, and held it on my lap for the whole car ride…
But otherwise: the biggest way that I do more with less is in not owning a car. Not that I couldn’t use it – it’s just that I know plenty of people with cars and I live in a bike-friendly city, so there’s no need for me to own a car all for myself.
I use cinnamon for everything! I use it for my skin, in my coffee, and of course, for baking and cooking! It’s also very good for you.
i actually admire my grandmother, she has a limited income but still finds time and resources to share with inmates in a prison in mexico. I’m so proud of her, i wish i was more like her.
I love having guests over, and at times when we have unexpected guests, I like to have something to offer at a moments notice. So I always have a homemade batch of cookie dough in the freezer. So while we’re visiting I could sneak away, drop a few cookies in the oven (set the timer!) visit some more and have a little snack. I’d like to think this makes my guest feel more welcomed :)
Doing more with less means keeping your cars as long as possible especially when they are paid off.
I use a baby bottle brush to clean my wine glasses and champagne flutes. Even though my daughter no longer uses bottles I still find myself in the baby section at Target. LOL!
My mom just got a new Kitchen Aid mixer and I LOVE it! She has never had one of her own before and I have never experienced one before but now I have. And boy oh boy, it makes a difference! We can’t wait to make tons of cookies this year for Christmas, especially me: I can’t stop thinking about it! =] It makes such a huge difference and it is making my relationship with baking even stronger, making me wanting to jump right into the kitchen. =]
I have to have one,
I’m not a worrier,
so could you please
tell me where I can get a
cupcake courier.
I get more sleep with less work in school and around the house.
When music is on, I am very productive at cleaning.
I sleep more with less work.
We do secret santas with the adults in our family to save on gift buying!
I take a short walk. . .it clears my head and gives me more energy.
I’ve switched to watching my shows online the next day. No commercials=more time to do other things. I also get to plan when I watch, so I can multitask and do crafts or organize while streaming.
Being a teacher, I use every container I can find to store supplies – old baby wipe boxes for markers or letter cut-outs, boxes that are tall and narrow for bullentin boards, etc.,- no need to buy containers, reuse what comes through my house.
My friend uses Splenda, so I bought her a pretty business card holder to put her little packets in and keep in her purse. That’s doing more with less, right?
I do all of my meal preparation in larger quantities so that I don’t have to worry when I get home from work as to what is for dinner. It really saves time and my children and husband get a home cooked meal everyday!!
I find using vinegar in my washing machine and dishwasher helps clean it out and get rid of any smells too. Instead of buying expensive dishwasher cleaners.
And of course vinegar is perfect in salad dressings too!
I am more productive in the kitchen when I have either the stereo or television on. For some reason it helps me to listen to something else than my head rattling off a to-do list!
Citrus Orange Pool Cleaner works amazingly to clean my stove….LOVE IT!!!
I love my 24 count baking pan. I don’t know what I would do without it
I nap when the baby naps. Keeps me grounded and more productive during the times he is awake!
My #1 secret to being productive: Hit the sales…I can buy more that way!! ;)
I make/do prep work for 3 different weekday dinners ahead of time. This is an amazing time saver when all you have to do is pop something in the oven. I work 12 hour shifts, so cooking dinner isn’t my favorite thing to do when I get home from a long day. I can actually spend time with my children this way, also.
I keep re-using leftovers, and add things to the mix to make it seem like a complete new creation! Great way to save money, without losing flavor! Plus I have a guilty conscience I hate throwing food away when theres so many people in the world that are dying of malnutrition/starvation
I make birthday presents and cards. It saves me money and time to go shopping and everyone loves them because they are exclusive!
Wow! Nice giveaway! Can you believe I don’t have a cell phone?! I know…I’m like one in a million! :)
I make cookies and candy for holiday gifts for neighbors and friends. They absoloutely love it and I love baking, so it’s perfect! Plus, my kids love to help decorate all of the cookies. Which sometimes is not such a time saver– if you know what I mean!
Truely with music on I seem to accomplish anything!
To make more things homemade! Sometimes it is just as easy, and cost a whole lot less!
I make photo books online and have them ready when there is a two for one sale. I also follow them and get email reminders so I will never miss a great sale.
I plan my weekly meals on sunday and do all the prep work, so dinner doesn’t take long on weeknights and it help us resist the urge to eat out.
Less facebook equals more housework for me. Unfortunately… LOL
I love when I can use things for multiple purposes. ziplock baggies are great when in a pinch with no bakers bag. LOVE IT!
I just started using this genius method to organize all my computer cords on the side of my desk: bulldog clips! Just clip them to the lip of the desk and thread the chords through, letting the plug-in rest on the metal handles of the clip.
Since I do most of the cooking in my house, I like to plan my meals for the week and you know those reusable shopping bags you can use at the grocery store? I’ve labeled 5 of them Monday through Friday and separate each meal into each bag. Saves a lot of time and money, and its totally simple!!
I’m productive when I’m in the kitchen with the computer on a baking website like this ;) Love it!
I use fast food ketchup packets as tiny boo-boo ice packs. I keep them in the freezer (they don’t totally freeze up) and they are great for kid’s little body parts.
i lurve to reuse containers i get when i order take away. There are so many different sizes and they usually have great covers so not only can i use them for food, but also for doodads, craft stuff, and all sorts of things. I think people so often forget about reusing and concentrate on recycling instead. ::here’s hoping i win!::
About 2 months ago we got rid of our cable. It was hard to do at first especially since we have 4 kids, but after a week we didnt miss it. We spend more time talking and just spending time together. Theres so much to do in a day and tv for our family was taking too much of that time away.
Teachers often have to spend their own money on classroom supplies because there simply isn’t enough funding to go around. To save money that I would have spent on plastic storage containers, I use the empty tissue boxes with the oval shaped slits in the top to store the classroom craft items in. (In a classroom of 20 or more with runny noses they are always in good supply!) The slits are large enough for small hands to grab the item, yet small enough to keep the items inside if the box gets tipped over! They also stack very nicely in small places and are easily labeled with a marker!
I have found that making a list and crossing out as the tasks get done makes me accomplish much more in a day.
Post it’s aid in productivity. They allow me to function like the rest of the world haha (:
To be more productive, I make it easy for my husband to help around the house. Garbage gets put by the door, socks get placed on the couch where he sits, and dishes get left by the door to taking to the kitchen.
I`ve found running to be productive as exercise goes. And all you need is your feet for it!
Bounce dryer sheets! Once used I keep them in my dressing room and use them to remove deodorant marks on my shirt – just rub over the white mark. Nylons also work. Bounce sheets also work well for cleaning off glass shower doors and for rubbing stains out of clothes.
Egg tray! I use it for forming and drying gumpaste flowers and leaves..I also use it for mixing food colors when painting on fondant covered cake..just make sure to clean it up before using or cover it with foil.
Everybody is trying to cut back these days but my family has always tried to. We use a lot of coupons and try to eat smaller portions so make our food last longer. I also just bought a sewing machine so I can make clothing, blankets, etc.
Using coupons is how I do more with less!
I get my screen more organized with less hassle using Windows 7’s Snaps feature.
I made my first cake balls (red velvet) a couple weeks ago. There were a SMASH!! Instead of mixing the cooked cake and the frosting with my hands, I used a potato masher. It did a wonderful job and I didn’t have a big mess all over my hands. I then used a small cookie scoop to dip out the balls that I rolled smooth with my hands which also worked like a charm. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas using cake mix. You are AWESOME!!!
I’m not that productive! lol! I can be if I wait until the last minute and then I’m forced to do something. I hate it, though, and wish that I could be on top of things more!
I love that carrier- where can I get one?
When i make cookies, I double my cookie dough recipe and use an ice cream scoop to make them even sizes. I scoop out the whole batch and then freeze the excess. When i have visitors coming, i just pull the little frozen scoops out and pop them in the oven. Easy-peasy
I have found that cutting World of Warcraft out of my routine helps me be a lot more productive.
I’ve learn to get more by spending less. Coupons! Coupons! Coupons! After being unemployed for 18 months, I can now live on a budget of less. And I’m Thankful for that lesson.
I’ve recently gotten really into couponing. Now I can make my monthly grocery budget stretch even farther and most of the time I have a little extra leftover to treat my family to a nice dinner!
Thanks for the tip on the carrier too! I have something similar and never thought to use it to transport cake pops!
i always re-use plastic baggies. any type, any size, there are a million uses for them and they are totally reusable if there wasn’t anything icky or sticky in them. i know everyone else does that too, but i can’t think of anything more creative right now. my favorite is getting the tiny ones that buttons come in, i love using them for jewelry!
Well, I haven’t decided to do MORE with less, but to do with less. I am about to begin a one year journey with only a few basic clothing items. I’m not expecting it to be very difficult but it could have it’s moments.
I’ve chosen 5 tops, 3 pants, 1 skirt, a pair of sneakers, a pair of dress flats, a coat, scarf, and gloves, and of course a few pairs of undies. I will wear these clothing articles until they are threadbare in order to raise awareness of those less fortunate than myself.
I’m most productive when I have multiple things I should be doing. For instance, if I have homework due, and I need to clean my apartment, I will buckle down and get everything done.
I love this carrier! your book is on my christmas wish list. cant wait to make my first cake pops!
one way that i am productive and use more for less is by making pretty edible center pieces for holidays…. for christmas make some pretty tree cake pops with some cookies… they make nice center pieces and everyone is done with dinner they habe dessert sitting right in front of them!…..
I do waaay more with less internet. I use it as in excuse, “oh, i just need to check Bakerella…” and BAM my whole day is gone! Oh, and I use baking soda for EVERYTHING! From baking cookies to washing my kids “artwork” off the walls!
What a great carrier, beats out the others hands down. This idea is for the holidays. Cookie Exchange…need I say more. This is a great opportunity to take that one cookie I make fast and in bulk and exchange with friends and co-workers for their baked goods. I dont have to buy a lot of baking items for different cookies and I still have a variety to share with family and visitors to my home.
I bake cookies and send them to my friends all over the country. :) I can easily bake huge batches of cookies and then divide them amongst my friends. Although it does take time, it ends up being cheaper than buying everyone a special present.
I find that folding clothes right out of the dyer and leving them in the basket (folded of course) allwows me more time with my kids! And I dont feel guilty using clothes out of the basket…cause there are no wrinkles!LOL
I’ve fired the cleaning crew and started redoing all the house work myself- that’s productive and is a huge cost savings here!!!
Forgot how hard house cleaning is!
If I have some type of calming music on in the background I focus a lot better on whatever it is I’m doing. It makes the work go faster.
I cannot live without my planner. My planner keeps my life organized. I am very forgetful so I would jot down events, dinners, outings, credit card due dates, and etc. One of the best things invented!
I wake up earlier to get a head start on my day. It makes easier morning for everyone :)
I’m most productive when I’ve eaten cookies first and can focus on work instead of the fact that I want cookies. :)
I get more done by using the Microsoft Outlook junk filters to see less spam.
