One Carrier. Plenty of Uses.

IMG_20013

I’ve shown you guys this Cupcake Courier before. It’s been awhile, but I still love it and I wanted to show you a couple more ways you can enjoy it.

Christmas Cupcakes

First and foremost, it carries cupcakes.

IMG_20014

It can hold 36 cupcakes. Or 24 or 12 or any amount in between. Just remove the stackable trays to suit your need.

Perfect for larger batches of cupcakes or taking them to a holiday party or get together.

IMG_20015

And if you remove all three trays…

IMG_5355

Then you can use it for cakes. And pretty big ones, too.

But here is the best part. The real reason I have fallen deeper in love with this carrier. It allows me to do much more when it comes to carrying my baked goods.

Christmas Tree Cake Pops

I am talking specifically about cake pops here. Yep, because the courier is so tall, it triples as a handy dandy cake pop courier, too.

It serves multiple purposes. One… it simply allows you to store them upright without having to wrap them in treat bags.

And two… it allows you to carry them more easily to happy recipients. With or without treat bags.

Here … let me show you what I mean.

IMG_20012

Tah dah. Perfectly protected pops. Of course you’ll have to imagine them made for full effect. I just used sticks and styrofoam to illustrate the idea.

IMG_20011

If you use 6-inch paper lollipop sticks (8-inch sticks would be too tall) and some styrofoam, it will fit just fine in the base of the courier.

IMG_2001

Styrofoam blocks come in many sizes and one of the common sizes is 4 x 12 x 2 inches high. Grab two of them and place them side by side on the base and then make 12 holes in each block. You can then easily carry 24 cake pops. And if you can’t find the styrofoam in that size, then cut down a larger piece of styrofoam to 8 X 12.

Either way it’s a great way to get more out of an already handy product. You can find them on amazon.com.

Hope that helps all you guys that are cake popping and cupcake making… and of course, carrying.

  1. Plastic Baggies…Not only do they store my food but they separate EVERYTHING! I use them on vacation to separate things in my suit case, for my childs toys, crayons, You name it I probably have it in a plastic baggie somewhere! Its super convenient!!

  2. When I turn my phone off and disconnect my internet I”m able to study better and finish things faster , thus being a lot more productive :]

  3. I can’t really think of anything….
Hmm… making lists makes me more productive. I feel like when it’s written down on paper I HAVE to do it. It helps.

  4. Something I found productive was to continue my education in becoming a nurse. I believe it will change my life to become more productive by helping people get well one day at a time

  5. I’m more productive in the morning. I certainly do more with less in my classroom. With less budget funding for education, any teacher will tell you they do more for less everyday!!

  6. I am actually more productive when there is noise around than silence. If I have a bunch of HW to correct, I’ll pop in one of my fave movies that I know by heart, like Steel Magnolias, 13 Going on 30, Grease, or any musical, and just the “background noise” keeps me going. If it was quiet, I’d be dazing…

  7. I want this, it would be sooooo convenient!

  8. I’ve gotta say…listening to my ipod makes me very productive…it helps me clean, work out, and even blow dry my hair! ;)

  9. I finally sat down to look at some recipes I’ve been wanting to make but was lacking the ingredients, wrote down what I still need, and took that list to he grocery store! Now I have exactly the ingredients that I need, can make the greatest recipes for a week and I spent less at the store! It’s a Christmas miracle.

  10. What a nifty little carrier! Love those multi-functional items. I have been paring down our belongings, bit by bit. Getting rid of the clutter of “stuff” really frees me up and it is so much easier to clean! :-)

  11. Leftover Halloween candy is being saved to decorate gingerbread houses soon!! Can’t wait!

  12. I get an awful lot done around the house when I leave the laptop closed!

  13. i use old cereal boxes and snack boxes as gift boxes, when people unravel the wrapping paper, they are usually surprised to see a box of cereal for present; little do they know the amazing gift is inside these empty cereal/snack boxes.

  14. I keep one of those sewing kits you get complimentary at the hotels in my purse at all times. i actually helped a stranger resew a button on his shirt before his interview.

  15. This is fun to read! We pulled the plug on our TV 2 years ago and WOW what we get done. For me having less TV makes more time to craft. From cake making to needle felt gnomes…no tv=crafts=a little extra $$

  16. i love watching a t.v. show and during the commercial do my homework thats how i can concentrate weird huh?

  17. i am most productive when i have music in both of my ears

  18. I like knitting while listening to audio books or while watching tv, it makes it feel a little more productive.

  19. I am most productive when i have music in one ear and my dogs barking in an other weird huh so yep

  20. I spend a few minutes browsing the grocery ads and clipping coupons, then plan my menus and food shopping trip. I write out a shopping list to cut down on impulse purchases and organize the list according to the layout of the store to save time. At the checkout counter, I group cold and frozen foods together and ask that they be bagged together to keep everything colder, and the same goes with pantry items, baked goods and paper and cleaning products, etc. This saves me time at home when putting items away.

  21. I am looking forward to making some turkey pops at Thanksgiving!

  22. Hair bands. They can be used to hold my toddler’s mittens on, to secure sheets to chairs to make tents…can’t go anywhere without some in the diaper bag! And they are so much less likely to break than regular rubber bands!

  23. Won’t be long before they start making a special carrying case for cake-pops! It’s coming, I tell ya! You are a HIT! I love watching your success grow !

  24. I go through all the clothes my family doesn’t wear anymore and either reconstruct it or make other things with it, this way, I save money and also have a new wardrobe!

  25. i’m always making marinades for tofu and i only recently discovered that grating my garlic is WAYYYYY faster and easier than mincing it and the flavor seems to infuse better into the sauce. yum.

  26. instead of going out and buying all the new cupcake, treat and cake books..i take photos of the pics and recipes online…UNLESS i REALLY love the book, magazine etc. That said, i just got your new Cake Pops book..and i DO love it :)

  27. I wish I had known about this last week! I just made a batch of cake pops and had to transport them in an open jar. I ended up using the passenger seatbelt to buckle them in, so I guess that’s my surprisingly productive item.

  28. A good calender is a godsend… especially since I like to wait until the last minute.

  29. I’ve started using a family calendar for all of our activies. Now everyone can see it and not ask a million times what’s going on during the week!

  30. turn the tv off! I could get anything done with the tv off, but if it’s on my brain is gone.

  31. I set a side one day for cooking…I cook a bunch of meals and freeze them. Saves time later in the next few weeks. And I don’t have the added stress of “what should I cook for dinner” I have lots of options waiting! :)
My second fav is To Do Lists….I feel more accomplished when I get to check something off and my list is all scratched out!

  32. How can I be more productive? Pump me full of caffeine and turn off the internet. No distractions.

  33. To save time (which I don’t have much of with having kids under the age of 5) I clean the bathroom while the kids play in the bathtub. They get to play and I get one more thing cleaned. :)

  34. I just had the biggest a-ha moment ever… I have that cupcake carrier, my mom gave it to me a few months ago, and I’ve only used it once to carry cupcakes. It was very handy, but I never even thought of other possibilities for it. Thanks!!!

I’m more productive in my scrapbooking and homeschooling now that I’ve swapped areas. I had a small desk that was always overflowing with school stuff, and a large craft area that was going mostly unused. I scaled down my craft/scrapbooking stuff to fit in the desk, and spread out homeschooling on the craft tables. Everything flows so much better, I have room for all of my school stuff, and the idea of scrapbooking isn’t so overwhelming because I got rid of the junk I don’t need, just kept my essentials.

  35. I allow myself to have little breaks..that way I can be more productive when I get back to work. For instance, right now I am taking a break from working and reading Bakerella…

  36. Pizza Cutter!! Not only do I use it for pizza but noodles, fondant, fruits, veggies, pretty much any food, and the kids love the old one for playdough!

  37. I am very productive when i am multi tasking for example watching tv while doing the dishes :)

  38. I don’t think that I could get anything done without a list, however, I am a big fan of multi-taskers, especially in the kitchen. If it can’t do more than one thing, then it doesn’t belong in my house!
Thanks for another such great giveaway!
    You are so very sweet!

  39. Whenever I cook, I always make extras to freeze for my lunches at work. They are all organized and labelled since I would never be able to remember which was which since I have so many containers of frozen meals in my freezer!

  40. Fantastic question! Besides a scarf (so many uses!) my favourite more-with-less item is paper. I save it allll and make all my own cards.

  41. I like to fill a bag once every few months with items we are longer using or clothes we no longer wear. I find that if we get rid of things regularly we are less likely to buy more!!

  42. We use a lot of budget tricks to do more with less money ;)

  43. I wash all my produce and chop most of it for cooking/eating when I buy it so it’s all ready for using when I need it. That cuts so much time off my preparation time for cooking dinner.

  44. I find I’m actually more productive if I have music on and a full desk of tasks…if I only have one or two items to work on I tend to put them off. I’m also most productive after 11pm for some reason!

  45. I clean my tile floors with vinegar instead of cleaner. Its safer for pets and much cheaper than cleaner :)

  46. when i have so much more tasks, I somehow focus a lot more into getting all of those done and being productive with times! It helps so much having a to-do list and a stack of post-its! :)

  47. since i don’t have a pizza paddle ( i find it expensive!) i use inverted pizza pan to slide my pizza dough onto the baking stone. great improvised tool =)

  48. Going green, uncycling, repurposing, etc. used to be called Second Hand Rose when I was young. It taught me at an early age to push my creativity to the limits. Thanks for the chance to enter this give away.

  49. Ziplock bags…..I love them. I use them to pipe frosting. Who needs to buy special bags for that when I always have ziplocks here!

  50. My iPhone has helped me save so much time! Calendars, emails, notes….not to mention the apps! :)

  51. My family and I have decided over the past few years to only send baked goods to each other and stop spending insane amounts of money on gifts, when in reality, baked goods and home made things are so much more meaningful than gift cards and designer purses. It’s saved all of us money and it is so much more from the heart.

  52. I multi-task by reading my kindle while I blow dry my hair. Otherwise I get bored.

  53. I recently bought stackable cooling racks for when I bake in my small, campus apartment! It saves a bunch of space (esp. for me to do my homework while the cookies are in the oven!) :)

  54. Well I would have to say maybe something like spices you could add just a little bit but it the end it does so much more taste wise.

  55. Doing more with less has been my motto this holiday season! We’ve been doing things like clearing out the closets and toy boxes, and donating whatever we can. I’m also trying to save more at home by clipping coupons, making laundry detergent and other cleaners.

  56. I find that turning off the TV and staying away from the computer help me do my homework faster. Unlike now.

  57. I use a salad spinner to clean my piping tips and couplers in. Just fill it with a bit of water and dish soap, drop the tips etc. in, and spin!

  58. I have this carrier, and absolutely love it! It is definitely versatile–I’ve used it to carry so many baked goods.

I find To Do lists to be very productive. I definitely get more done, and it feels great to cross things off!

  59. I love using a smaller ice cream scoop to portion out my cupcake batter. It saves time, makes less mess and makes them come out closer to the same size. It also makes it easier for little helpers to scoop : )

  60. By having less time (because I am a grad student, teacher, mother, and wife,) I find that the time I do get to spend with my family is quality time. I do more with less.

  61. I do more cleaning with less toxic chemicals by using baking soda, vinegar, and club soda. Amazing cleaning power. I’ll never go back to bleach or (*shudder*) toilet bowl cleaner!

I also find myself couponing – making my grocery budget stretch 4x as far.

  62. I use ziplock bags for everything: toys, boardgame pieces, food… You name it, I’ve put it in a ziplock bag!

  63. I recycle the cardboard boxes that 24 packs of water bottles come in to transport my baked goods. They are perfect for 24 cupcakes, cookies or other things. Think green!

  64. The most productive thing I can do is when I’m cooking
make sure I have all the ingredients before I even start. Don’t assume I have baking powder, eggs or whatever. Visually verify you have the supplies you need. There have been so many times I would begin to make something and somone used the last egg, rest of the milk … whatever!

  65. The lid to a pot. It can act as a strainer/colander… no need to dirty more dishes!

  66. Between my husband and I, we have one vehicle. One vehicle and three jobs! It’s not easy, but it saves us a ton of money.

  67. I take advantage of Pandora and listen to great music without the need to spend on downloads or cd’s. What an awesome prize!!

  68. I keep a small whiteboard in my kitchen to write tasks on – it helps me be more productive. It’s so satisfying wiping them out when they’ve been done.

  69. I hung a shower curtain rod on my playroom wall, and bought little rings with hooks on them. Now my kids have a stylish place to hang all of their artwork!

  70. I can’t live without my silly garbage disposal. It’s one of those things that helps my trash not smell so stinky. The other thing I can’t live without is a kitchenaid.

  71. Scarves … keeping your neck warm does wonders for overall warmth =)

  72. I like to juice vegetables in the morning and drink the juice for breakfast. I used to just throw the pulp down the disposal but then I found out it can be used for soup thickener! And if all else fails, it is a great addition to our complex’s compost pile. :)

  73. I’m a bit behind the times, but I just discovered Windows Media Player on my laptop…..I know, right? Anyway, I have a weekly Ladies Bible Study that I lead, and I discovered that I can watch the DVD for my prep on my laptop! Wonderful!

  74. honestly, i can’t think of anything i really do that meets the criteria. i am a poor college student, though, so i do try and find recipes that use as little ingredients as possible but still taste delicious. [: also, buying your own liquor and mixing your favorite drinks at home saves a ton of money versus paying twice as much for a drink half the size while you’re out. [:

  75. I am a cake decorating instructor and I usually have large quantities of cake decorating tips for students to use in the classes. I use one of those thread/spool organizers for holding all of my cake decorating tips. I can hang it on my kitchen wall and then find the ones I need quickly and easily. The wooden dowels are tall enough to hold several of the same tips.

I LOVE your website and your just all around amazingness! Thanks for the constant inspiration and fun cake stuff!

  76. Investing in a kitchen scale so that I can weigh ingredients instead of measuring them has saved me a lot of time! Also, I like to weigh dry ingredients in advance – one or two every time I have a free two minutes – and then store them in plastic bags in appropriate amounts to use in recipes when I bake.

  77. I have started simmering a whole chicken in a large pot with aromatic vegetables once a week. Not only do I get delicious chicken to use in all kinds of recipes, but I also get 2-3 quarts of chicken broth for soup or the freezer. It is both a time and money saver.

  78. I use gallon zip lock bags for everything, organizing toys, carrying diapers, freezing food, organizing medicine/first aid gear for trips and packing toiletries.

  79. My husband has to travel for work and I sometimes join him. I always bring home the little shampoo and lotion bottles and donate them to our Ronald McDonald House. We stayed there many times with our son and I can’t count the times I was glad they had a basket of them in the hall so I didn’t need to use precious time to run for something I had forgetten.

  80. One of our favorite “more with less” things is playing with sidewalk chalk. Super cheap and super fun.

  81. Hmmm…..I tend to collect the empty jam jars to store my way too big button collection instead of going out & buying something else to store the buttons in… So when I shop for jam…I look for the interesting jars..LOL….

  82. I have had one of these cupcake couriers for years….and I love it!! I have been doing more with less since my son was born…I have so much less time and somehow accomplish more than I did before…the math in this really does not compute…but if I tell myself this, I feel soooo much better.

  83. I use post-its for productivity. I have a wall of them at home. and a workstation panel full of them at work.

  84. I find myself pretty productive when I make “to-do” lists. Not just a simple list of what needs to be done, but by an hourly account so I know I have enough time to do everything each day.

  85. My Kichen Aid Mixer makes my day so much easier

  86. a metronome helps me stay productive!

  87. I keep all of my ribbon scraps and use them to make ‘taggie’ blankets for my kids and baby gifts for friends! Love the contest! Thanks!

    Rebekah
    bek@kalwebs.com

  88. I am most productive when I work to music, I get things done a lot fast .

  89. We have a simple kitchen…one set of glasses for water, wine, etc., three knives (!), a few pots , etc. I have learned to do more with less this way. My mom thinks I am crazy & doesn’t understand why I don’t have every gadget, appliance, etc. like she does.
Having said that, I do like your multi-use cupcake carrier! ;)

  90. I’m like the to-do list queen :) I write one every few days at work and it definitely keeps me on task! Especially after lunch when my brain starts to get a bit fuzzy haha

  91. I make an extra portion with dinner and make it stretch for lunch the next day. I pack it up the night before to save me time in the morning, and it also saves me money since I don’t have to buy my lunch!

  92. I use my round cake carrier to transport pies…makes the travel so much less stressful.I LOVE the cupcake carrier. As a teacher who loves to bake for my students, the standard 24 just isn’t large enough.

  93. I am a fan of using ziploc bags instead of a pasty bag & tip…sandwich size and larger. Its the best idea ever!!!

  94. I recycle all the plastic bags I have accumulated over the years by fusing some layers together and making “fabric”. I then make my own grocery bags that I take to go shopping every where. So I feel green because I am re-using, recycling and reducing waste!

  95. I use my hair straightener for small ironing jobs or if I just don’t want to pull out the ironing board! It’s perfect!

    justforthis917 [at] yahoo [dot] com

  96. I’ve starting using vinegar and water to clean everything in the bathroom. I put it in a spray bottle and then my kids can help me because there are no yucky chemicals. I’ve found that vinegar works just as well as a half-dozen single purpose cleaners.

  97. I get my kids to pitch in cleaning. I give each of them a gardening glove to wear and some furniture polish. They can clean the furniture in their rooms in no time at all! They think it is pretty nifty too!

  98. I’ve found that if I put away my KitchenAid mixer or food processor in an out-of-the-way lower cupboard, then I never use them. So now I leave them on the counter top. It may not look as neat, but I’m getting a lot more use out of my kitchen appliances.

  99. While packing for our vacations, I assemble an entire outfit for each child, for each day and place them into their own Ziploc bag!!

That way, each bag contains all items for each day, it’s easier to pack and find the clothes in the luggage and it’s cleaner (no chance of bed bugs :)

    Sounds crazy, but it works!

  100. I’m a first time Mommy and making my own baby food has saved me money and I love to do that for my baby. I LOVE being a Mommy and doing Mommy things!

  101. I do without internet on my phone, if I had it, I’d never be off my phone but without it, everyone tells me they can never reach me.

  102. i use my cell phone to accomplish everything!

  103. i am most productive with my phone in hand! ha ha i have an APP for everything!!!

  104. Homemade cookies as Christmas gifts are a great way to go. I also sometimes make fudge in the shape of a wreath. I use green and red candied cherries, and chop them up to make holly leaves and berries on the “wreath”. It’s always a hit!

  105. Using to do lists! Marking to-do’s off is one of the best feelings in the world.

  106. Cupcake tins, have more uses than you think! i use them for stuffing for thanksgiving so it always comes out crispy on top and for cinnamon rolls too.

  107. I am most productive when I make myself leave the computer alone until I finish all of my homework. It is a difficult task, but on most days, I am successful.

  108. i use duct tape for pretty much everything :) it comes in handy

  109. I have found if I wait an extra day or two to get to the grocery store I can stretch my food budget. (a must with my teenagers!) Plus I have to be a bit creative with meals & snacks, using what I already have.
    great little giveaway!

  110. With less sleep, I can get more done but I’d rather sleep.

  111. I love the different hairstyles I can do with just my hair straightener! Besides straightening, I can use my straightener to make some beautiful curls, crimp my hair, or flip the ends!! So many uses with just one appliance! Instead of buying 3 or 4 appliances, my straightener can do it all!

  112. Cookie cutters! You have to look beyond their intended shape…be creative…and make all kinds of cookies! You can even combine the shapes the cutters make to create new, fun shapes!

  113. Straws! They entertain my baby while I do some grocery shopping. So simple but yet I keep extras in the diaper bag for every shopping trip.

  114. For years my mom and I have been saving all of our egg cartons to use for multiple uses! holding paint or making caterpillars let your imagination go!

  115. I use vinegar to clean everything! It’s safe and easy.

  116. I have found to be more productive I need to put myself in a zone. Kind of like horse blinders. I just need to focus on the task at hand and I am more productive that way.

  117. toothpaste. perfect for those zits or pimples >_>
great for cleaning jewelry (if there’s rust) and other stuff.

and of course, cleaning your teeth :D

  118. I use a vinegar and water mix for most cleaning projects, I reuse sandwich bags when I can and I recycle EVERYTHING. I give my coworkers baked goods for Christmas in reusable totes and I use cloth diapers as cleaning cloths.

  119. Instead of buying the “pops sticks”, I have bought the industrial size box of craft sticks at the craft store. You get 1000 and they are shorter than the ones found in the candy section at the stores!

  120. I use a picture holder to hold my recipes while cooking!

  121. I harass my husband to help when housework needs to get done. Miraculasly it gets done twice as fast! Shocker huh?

  122. I put boxes of baking soda in my fridge and freezer. When it’s time to change, I use the old boxes to clean my kitchen sink and counter.

  123. you’re so sweet!
i use disposable piping bags or ziplocs to distribute batter evenly for cupcakes. super easy and efficient.

  124. I’ve found that doing blitz house cleaning is much more productive than taking a long time in one area. For example, knocking out the dishes quickly instead of letting them pile up; taking a few minutes to pick up major items on the floor; etc.

  125. Do you know the round plastic supports that you find inside a pizza box? Not only do they protect the pizza from the box falling in on it, but they also double as supports between stacked cardboard circles for drying royal icing decorated cookies. This is great if you don’t have much counter space (like me!)

  126. I have learned to do without sleep. My 11 month old still isn’t sleeping through the night : )

Seriously though, the only pot I own is a LeCruset Round 7 /14. It does everything AND it goes into the dishwasher after each use.

  127. Lists and foil, which saves on clean a great deal of cleanup annoyance…

  128. I love ziptop bags! I use them for everything! For christmas goodies, I cut off the zipper part and tie the bag with ribbon. For baking, I use them as disposable piping bags. For traveling, I use them for pills, snacks, etc. and for my powdered chai mix so they are easier to carry around in my purse.

  129. One thing that comes to mind during this holiday season in which I do more with less is recycling. So many people throw away wrapping paper, ribbon, bows, decorative embellishments, etc. when unwrapping gifts during the Christmas season. However, I find if you wrap boxes like shirt boxes with the top and bottom wrapped separately, you can keep the boxes from year to year already wrapped, recycling both the box and paper, and making you spend less time on wrapping! Also, you can reuse bows with new tape, or retie ribbons the next year. Additionally, when gifting fragile items, you can reuse crumpled tissue paper to cushion the item since it will get crumpled anyway, and use the new tissue paper to stick out of the bag. These are just some ways I do more with less during this season!

  130. I made a calendar by printing the numbers 1-31 on different cards that i can rearrange the order of each month. That way I have a whole year’s calendar that will work forever and can fit in the palm of my hand(:

  131. I’m more productive with the tv off and the ipod on…go figure :)

  132. I am always looking for new ways to use old things and my toddler often inspires me with her creative uses for everyday items. We use a small flowerpot to hold crayons, baseball card pages to sort coupons in a binder, toilet paper rolls become a variety of instruments, and every scrap of paper in the house becomes a canvas for a work of art,.

  133. I’m obsessed with Ziplock bags. All kinds. All sizes. I put everything in them. Sandwhiches, socks, toys, change, frosting, salad, paint brushes (so they don’t dry out), snacks, dirty diapers . . . I drives me crazy not to have any on hand.

  134. Something I have realized is so convenient is putting the wrappers for stick butter in a ziploc and saving them in the fridge. Any time that I need to butter a pan, I can pull them out and use them instead.

  135. Doing more with less: Duct tape. It does everything!

  136. THE BUNDT PAN!! – – not just for cake. For making ooey gooey rolls….pretty meatloafs and quiches….pressed rice krispy goodness….all sorts of yummy things to dump in and out in a pretty presentation!

  137. I have found if I line up the sprinkles, candies and a little bit of this and that before making cake balls that I have a lot more fun! Usually it is more productive but my grandchildren love to help add this and that! They think cake balls ROCK!

  138. So much fun meeting you even if I was crazy fan dropping all my stuff! Love that carrier, have 2 of them. I use egg cartons to dry gumpaste flowers. Also, some of my favorite tools are from IKEA – lazy susan, glass bowls, spoon rest, pizza cutter…

  139. I do more with less by making multiple meals or doing meal swaps with friends, it saves me time & energy & provides my family with quality foods!!

  140. i need a carrier like that for cookies!

  141. Really working on doing more with less. Not spending money on cable (or eating out very often) allows our family to be able to help fund clean water in Africa and other local projects in need of donations to stay afloat. It’s been a lot simpler than we ever thought and allows us more time to enjoy one another’s company. It’s quite a gift to have your two year old ask if she can listen to the soundtrack of Annie on LP and then all get up as a family and dance to the whole first side of the record. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

  142. POST ITS. There’s a million ways Post Its can be used: from the original note taking uses to being used as decorates on walls/books/notebooks/etc to being used as cards to being used as frames to be used as visual aid for math lessons (I’m a teacher), etc. Love Post Its!

  143. my family calendar. I make a picture calendar every year and include everyone’s birthday or anniversary and write down everyones schedules so one glance and I know where and what time everyone in my family has to be day to day. Its a lifesaver for mommies!!

  144. I have used baby formula canisters for many things…decorative and storage!

  145. One way I do more with less: I rinse and re-use ziplock and plastic produce bags. I stuck some cheap plastic hooks on the side of the cabinet by the sink where I can hang them to let them air dry. I get many uses out of each bag this way, especially if I only used them to store dry goods or whole fruits and veggies. If I stored something with a strong odor or the food went bad in it for whatever reason, then I toss or recycle the bag. The trick is remembering to bring them with me to the grocery store!

  146. I have got to get one of those carriers! cool! ok, I have 2 shares….. first I have a spice holder that is on a lazy susan type of thing. I bought it at goodwill for $2! cleaned it really well and put all my brads, buttons etc by color. I have 2 of them. takes little space and I can turn it to find what I want.
2nd, I also quilt. when I go on retreats I needed a small ironing board. so I took a TV snack tray. I put foil next to the wood so no moisture will get to the wood. then a 1 layer of leftover batting. then I covered the top with pretty fabric. I used a staple gun to secrue all the edges. now I have a portable ironing table!

thanks for putting my name in the hat! I would soooooo love to win this phone! I already use T-Mobile! so PLEASE pick me!!!!

  152. Glad Ovenware! OMG, these things are incredible! They look like black plastic with a clear lid but are conventional oven or microwave safe. They also sell sheets that match in color to the carrier, that you can place over the cupcake holes. then you have a flat surface to place cookies and other baked goods that don’t fit in the the cupcake holes!

  162. i use a melon baller to scoop out the center of apples and pears once I slice them in half. I thought that it was my own brilliant idea, but then I saw someone on tv do it too..

  163. Someone mentioned apple cider vinegar – it also works wonders when you have indigestion. 3 parts water, 1 part vinegar – it smells funky but you feel better in 5 minutes.

  175. I have to say my Cricut machine. It seems like I find more and more ideas on what I can do with it. This time of year especially, with Christmas just around the corner. Its a great “gift making” machine.

  178. Crock pot cooking, enough said!!!

  179. When baby number 2 came along, my husband and I decided it would be best for me to stay home with the babies. That cut our income by more than half, but I definitely feel like I’m making a bigger impact on our children’s lives than I ever did working.

  183. Being a teacher, I could probably right a book on this subject. Just one of the many things we recycle would be tissue boxes. We stuff grocery store bags in them and have them right there at our fingertips when someone forgets their backpack.

  184. I’m an art teacher so i’ve found many ways to recycle and turn trash into valuable materials! I save all types of plastic container caps which later become sculptures. Paper towel tubes are another great material!

  185. I plan my menus ahead and search various cooking blogs to come up with new ideas.
