Going on vacation in August – but so far I’ve had a great time with my parents visiting, time spent relaxing and playing at the lake, eating a lot of ice cream, and enjoying the hot, sunny weather!

Just this past weekend my husband and I went on a double date with my mother and step father to the state fair. We had a ball walking around nd shopping and at the end of the night we saw the musical group EnVogue!
i stayed awake the whole 24 hours of my birthday and spent it with my friends and family, longest and best birthday ever!
Spent time with the most precious things in the world, my grandgirls!! Tried Lemon Meringue Pie icecream and fell in love all over again.

We’ve had a lot of firsts this summer! Took our son to the beach for the first time, first time at the fair, first road trip to San Diego…It’s been a great summer!
I visited two cities I have never been to before: 1) Tifton, GA and 2) Largo, FL. I feel in love with the town of Tifton and that is where I will move to when I hit the lottery!!!

The funniest thing I’ve done is taking vacations. Yeah!
This years family vacation to Schliterbahn, a local awesome waterpark, was filled with the rain-est and wet-est time in Texas. We certainly swished and splashed.

Went to visit my friend who lives near Hammonton, NJ, while the Blueberry Festival was going on. Came home with 2 dozen pints of blueberries.
I visited my two grandchildren in Houston and we went to the beach and splashed around in the ocean! ;)

This summer not only did my hubby & I move in to a new house – out in the woods, but to celebrate & say “hello” to my new neighbors I made: homemade Cranberry Orange scones & fresh Raspberry preserves, for all 3 of my neighbors. All without air conditioning in 90+ degree weather…I know I’m crazy – LOL :)
My family made a Banku or German Tree Cake over an open grill in 98 degree heat! Not fun but it was for a 50th anniversay party! I would love to win the icecream maker and share it with the Banku Babies!

Watched my girls take surfing lessons in California!
We have been patiently (ok maybe not so patienlty) watching our garden grow and waiting for it to let us eat it!
We saw “Anne of Green Gables” at our community theater and “Charlotte’s Web” at our university theater.
OMGosh……I love homemade strawberry ice cream. My dad making homemade ice cream with the old time maker is one of the best memories of my childhood :) I suffer from Fibromyalgia and spend most of my days in bed, but the highlight of my summer would have to be taking my 10 year old son to his 3rd year at Nick Saban’s Alabama camp. ROLL TIDE!!
I went swimming with friends in the middle of the night. It was pitch black! A memorie for life.

Had a great backyard BBQ party with my friends, swim in the lake everyday and travel back and forth between Europe and Asia twice this summer!
I just spent a day with my Mom and her church choir girlfriends. A fun fish fry and games before, during and after the meal. It was an unexpected, hilarious day for me….and I KNOW they had a great time!!!
I visited my friends in SoCal and we visited Sprinkles Ice Cream and Disneyland :)
Went to the Finger Lakes for my 25th wedding anniversary. Awesome hiking there!

The funnest thing I’ve done this summer is getting picked to be the Angora goat judge at our State Fair. Won’t actually happen until the end of August, but I’m pretty stoked about it.
Went out of state for a baseball park vacation and entered flowers at the local county fair!
I have loved having my babies all day everyday. Exploring our city.
I planned by son’s 1st birthday with an Under the Sea theme. It was a pool party and rained the whole time. 130 years since it rained in mid-July in Orange County. It was still fun and the kids stayed in the pool rain or shine.

My brother and I took a trip to a nursing home to visit our Great Aunt Elaine this past Saturday. Spending time with her and hearing stories about our family members has been the highlight of my summer thus far!
We have been enjoying a “staycation” this summer.
Omg, this summer I went to see my niece up north and we went to ride horses y watch the mountains… It was beautiful, we had a lot of fun!!
I will be going home to spend 10 days with all my nieces and nephews. We will be going to the fair, go cart rids, and swiming. this ice cream maker would be awesome way to end a day.

I have been teaching my 10 year-old granddaughter to cook. It is so fun to be my grandchildren and watch them play and grow.
Went to watch the play Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Awesome show!!
This summer, I am going to two concerts, went to santa barbara for a weekend and also I am going to Palm springs for a couple of days. Also i have has endless nights out getting ice cream :D

I had a ‘catch up’ vacation with a friend that I had not seen since 2002. We have kept in touch mainly by writing letters (yes, a dying mode of communication) and the occasional phone call but had not been able to spend any time together due to distance (miles) and work issues. It was like we’d seen each other the week before rather than so many years ago, the mark of a true friendship.
Met Arty McGoo and her family and showed her around my neck of the woods!
We went to a Bastille Day event and tried small plates from lots of local Seattle restaurants, including duck egg ice cream!
Went to Disney world with my kids and husband. Had a ball but need a vacation from the vacation!

I had a fun, flashback teenage moment during a recent Boyz to Men, 98 Degrees and New Kids on the Block concert that I went to. It was awesome!
I started a cupcake business and became a registered nurse, I’ve been busy!
I have done just about nothing fun this summer. Which is why I need this ice cream maker! LOL I bought a vintage trailer in hopes to go glamping but the campsites were booked up before I could get her ready. Ice Cream sounds delicious!
I went to Pigeon Forge TN!
My 3 year old daughter and I planted tomatoes, watermelon, carrot, zucchini, and squash seeds. It has been a real treat watching her excitement as they have grown. She was shocked at how carrots grow and reminds me she only likes carrot chips;)
We (my husband and I) went to a family reunion down in south Texas, which also meant we got to go to the beach! Also, just a few weeks ago we found out we’re having a baby girl this fall!!! I can’t think of anything more fun than that! :)
I went kayaking a few weeks ago and enjoyed the nature.
Watched my two beautiful grandchildren ages 2 and 4 learn to swim like fishes. Now when the come to grandma’s it’s pool time all the time.

My husband and I have been visiting our local snow cone spot, Bahama Bucks, a few times a WEEK this summer. They are delicious but I would absolutely love to make my own ice cream at home!

My daughters are back home from college while in vacations. I enjoy cooking with them. We have been making different amazing desserts and decorating cakes and cake pops (learning to decorate cake pops). Last cake I baked was orange cake which is DELICIOUS AND AMAZING

To beat the heat this past weekend we went to Niagra Falls….
Taking day trips with my kids when we have to travel for college orientations, sporting events, etc. Just getting to spend time with the kids.
I just got home from a wonderful vacation in Perdido Key, FL and that was the most fun I’ve had in a very long time. We ate a lot of ice cream to keep cool, and it’s over 90 at home so I’m going to need to cool off here, too. :)
I competed in a (almost Olympic distance) triathlon, have gone sailing and baking a ton!
I took a trip to see my high school girlfriends up in NYC!
I finally met my teen idols NKOTB at their concert recently. Yes, I admit it – I love Jordan Knight!! :)
Moved into our new house!
I have spent it with my son. We have done lots of fun things like go to Holiday World, seen movies, went shopping. Spent a lot of quality time together. He is 11 and I know one day he will not want me around. School starts next week so it will be back to the grindstone!
We have been preparing for our new baby to arrive this summer which has been very fun, also we have been spending time with our two kids, we have played at the park, went bowling and golfing and just enjoyed fun family times :)
So far we’ve had bbq and pool parties almost every weekend. Summer is definitely for spending outdoors!

I wish I could say I had done fun things, but I have only ferried my kids back and forth from camps, VBS, and swim lessons,
while still working 40 hours a week. I am saving my fun for fall break when we take our vacation and it is cooler!!!
We take our cabin cruiser out on Puget Sound every weekend. Pure heaven!

I went to Lake Welch with my family , we went for a swim and well it was a cloudy day and it ended up pouring rain .. but we stayed because the only lasted a couple minutes
had a sleepover with my nephews, niece, and daughters. went swimming and ended the day eating junk food and watching movies. it was a blast! :)
This summer my family has mostly had fun swimming and trying to stay cool!

My family and I spend many summer weekends paddle-boarding at the lake. It’s fun and relaxing, but still gives you a work out.
I went to three concerts this summer and went hiking in Zion. Next up is Yosemite. I love that place!
I actually sat down and read two whole books! I haven’t done that in ages with 3 kids! We’ve also been to the beach and hung out by the pool.

I am setting off to visit with my mom (aka my best friend in the universe) in a few days to close out summer and bring my daughter back home for school. She spends her summers with my parents because they are so close with each other. <3

Celebrated Fourth of July at the lake. Always one of my favorite days in the summer!

Just returned from celebrating our Aunt Selma’s 90th birthday! Such a wonderful time to get together with family this summer and reminisce about everything Selma has done in her lifetime. 90 years is an amazing milestone and we were so glad to make this our summer “vacation” trip :)
