Last fall during the book tour, I visited a bunch of cupcake bakeries and sweet shops in just about every city I passed through. Miette was one of my favorites in San Francisco. If you get a chance, make sure to give them a visit.
They have two locations. One in the Ferry Building and one on Octavia Street. They also have one in Oakland and another opening later this year in Larkspur, California.
In San Francisco, the one on Octavia Street is bigger than the Ferry building location, but both are just as cute as can be.
I loved the colors and the display of sweets. So did Julie.
Everywhere you turn are the cutest treats with adorable packaging.

Miette recently released a cookbook filled with recipes of their signature sweets.
Pretty awesome.
And pretty cute. I love the scalloped pages.
It ties in beautifully with the shop accents.

I made the Tomboy Cake. So good. It’s made with chocolate and cocoa.
And I must say, it feels good to feel like baking again.

The last cookbook I bought was a “Healthy Homestyle Cooking” from family circle. Probably a waste of money since the cookbook I use most is the one I got from my Mom at Christmas using cake mixes as bases for other desserts – so yummy!

The last book I got was ‘Grundbackbuch’ by Dr. Oetker, which was gifted to me by the family who’s daughter I did an exchange with, in Germany.
It was the perfect present as I made a cake for my exchange partner while I was there and it means that whenever I want to bake I can also practice my German, oh gott!
The next book I want is, of course, ‘Miette’ because, quite frankly, I love anything cute! :)

My latest cookbook, which I received as a gift, is by Charlie Trotter. I was fortunate enough to dine at the chef’s table in his restaurant years ago…and have never forgotten it. The recipes are ridiculously ambitious, and I have yet to tackle one; but once the mood strikes and I have a few hours to kill, I’m on it!

The last cook book I bought was one from de Baedaker (?) series. That’s a series of books just for stay-at-home-wifes from the 70’s. The one I bought had all kinds of old recipes for old Dutch sweets.
I haven’t got my eye on a new cookbook, because I should stop colleting and make some more recipes from them. I’ve got about 25 books just about cakes and stuff and I hardly make any. But I will be on pregancy leave soon, so I’ll be making a lot of cakes then!
Hi Bakerella, I’m so glad to hear you feel up to baking again :) You know you’re on the mend when your mind goes back to your hobby. A new cookbook is always an inspiration too. I bought a heap of books recently and one of my faves is Peggy Porschen’s Pretty Party Cakes. You may never get around to reading this message (unless I’m the very lucky winner!) but I’m sure you would like her book. It’s full of mini treats including some very cute little cakes. The last book I got was the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Companion. Stephanie is an Australian food writer who established a program in primary schools to teach kids to grow food and cook with the fresh produce. It’s a beautiful book.

Hello! The last cook book I purchased was your Cake Pops cookbook. It was delivered last week and I was out so I had to wait an extra day before collecting it from the sorting depot (it would not fit through my letter box!).

My mom got my an only-cupcake cookbook. It’s called CUPCAKES lol but I don’t remember the author or anything. Anyways, my next cookbook will be Sandra Plevisani’s next dessert cookbook. she’s a peruvian baker. Really amazing!
The last cookbook was from a elementary school fundraiser. It was filled with ‘food kids love’, compiled by teachers and parents. And because my husband is the simplest eater, it fit us well. :) The next one I want to get is probably on breads. I love the smell of a home with fresh made bread.

I received your cakepop book as a gift. Here is a cute and touching story: a boy in my daughters 5th grade class confided in her that he really liked her best friend, but didn’t know bow to tell her. My daughter told him that we just got done making some cute cakepops and she could bring one for him to give to the girl. He loved the idea so she came home, wrapped it up and gave it to him the next day. Well, he ended up telling his friends that if they liked a girl at school, then they needs to give the girl a cake pop. Over the course of a week, I had 10 moms emailing me asking how to make these cake pops because their son had to tell a girl they liked them. I told them to buy your book. What was funny was seeing all of these different cake pops showing up at school, and the girls that had received them. So, if any of you has a crush on someone special, then whip up a special batch of cake pops and give one to them! It works!

I honestly can’t remember the last cookbook I purchased, it has been so long. I love to bake sweets, and unfortunately I also love to eat sweets, so I don’t bake much anymore. But it is a lot of fun to see what others are creating!
Better Homes and Gardens Junior Cook Book – I am teaching my two boys (my future chefs) how to cook – so much fun and rewarding!

The last cookbook I purchased was Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan. Love love love it, although it will probably take me years to even tackle half of the recipes in that ginormous book! :)

I got “Our Best Bites” cookbook for mother’s day and love it. It is cute and has yummy easy recipes. I would LOVE this book. The scalloped edges are so cute!!
I recently bought Super Natural Cooking by Heidi Swanson. Currently, I have 19 cookbooks on my Amazon wishlist … but I think the next purchase will be the King Arthur Flour Cookbook, Commemorative Edition! Baking is really my thing! I live near San Francisco and you’ve inspired me to make a trip soon to a certain bakery!

The last cookbook I acquired was Hello Cupcakes sequel What’s New Cupcake. I have already made the eggshell ones, they were so life-like people thought they were real eggs. The next cookbook I hope to get is, your cookbook acctually. I borrowed it from the Library and absolutely loved it. I cant wait until I get paid to go and get it. : )
The last one I got was a gift from my sister called Dress Your Cupcake, and one that I hope to get soon is actually Cake Pops :) (so cute), it’s on my wish list. :)

The last cookbook i purchased was Jamie’s America which I absolutely love. Anyone who doesn’t love Jamie Oliver needs to reevaluate their cookbook collection in my opinion. The next cookbook I want to purchase is probably Blood, Bones and Butter: The Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef by Gabrielle Hamilton, even though that’s more of a food-memoir.

I really want to get The Pioneer Woman’s cookbook. I go to her website often. I also, however, want to get the Martha Stewart Cupcakes cookbook. I am a cookbook junkie. Constantly looking for new ones that I can add to my collection!

Most recent purchase was Simply Salads by Jennifer Chandler – with our hot weather I only heat the kitchen up to bake and the one on my wishlist Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey Treats for Kids by Jill O’Connor because my four year old is really taking an interest in my baking recently. The last time i went to the bookstore i got, Cake Pops, The soup bible, and whoopie pie book. I have a small problem with buying cookbooks, and if i don’t win this will be my next.
The newest cookbook i have received is Blue Ribbon cookbook, by the Bromberg Bros. which I won on a twitter trivia contest from The Cosmopolitan Casino here in Vegas. It is also signed by both Chefs. I love the recipes.
