Last fall during the book tour, I visited a bunch of cupcake bakeries and sweet shops in just about every city I passed through. Miette was one of my favorites in San Francisco. If you get a chance, make sure to give them a visit.
They have two locations. One in the Ferry Building and one on Octavia Street. They also have one in Oakland and another opening later this year in Larkspur, California.
In San Francisco, the one on Octavia Street is bigger than the Ferry building location, but both are just as cute as can be.
I loved the colors and the display of sweets. So did Julie.
Everywhere you turn are the cutest treats with adorable packaging.

Miette recently released a cookbook filled with recipes of their signature sweets.
Pretty awesome.
And pretty cute. I love the scalloped pages.
It ties in beautifully with the shop accents.

I made the Tomboy Cake. So good. It’s made with chocolate and cocoa.
And I must say, it feels good to feel like baking again.

I recently hit a used cookbook jackpot at my library’s little used book store. I nabbed a Best of Cooking Light cookbook, Food & Wines Annual cookbook from 2009 and the Allrecipes.com cookbook. Each had an original price of around $30, and only cost $1.50! Plus, they look brand new. It’s not everyday I find $90 worth of cookbooks for $4.50!

The last cookbook I recieved was “whoopie pies”! As of yet, I have only tried two of the recipes, and they actually turned out well!
I just received the Cake Pop Book!!!!! It was actually a gift from my sister and i went crazy when i opened it!!! It was Christmas in July for me in that moment!!! The last book added to my collection was Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes, which I received for Christmas. The next one on my list to grab is Stickey Chewy Messy Gooey, but until then, it seems the Taste of Home magazines are providing my cookbook fix!!
I honestly can’t remember what the last cookbook that I purchased. It’s been awhile. However, I think the next cookbook that I buy will be Bakerella. Just this past weekend I made cake pops for the first time and they were a hit. I can’t wait to make more! :) BTW, I’m in the Bay Area and have had macaron’s from Miette before and they were fabulous!

The last cookbook i bought was “What’s New Cupcake” by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson, I was just wandering through the cooking section of the bookshop and it caught my eye! I had to have it after baking my way through the first book “Hello Cupcake” by the same people. My next purchase will now definitely have to be “Miette” how cute are they!!!

She brought a bunch of them to our July 4th family celebration & passed them out. I love church cookbooks & can’t wait to make some of these time-tested recipes (especially the desserts!!!)
The last cook book I received was from my niece. Her small country church had one from the ladies in the church and I bought one from her. Yummy receipes!!!

The last cookbook I got was given to my by my grandma … Muffin’s and More (company’s coming). The next one I’d love to get is the Miette cookbook … or the Bakerella one … or one called Girlfriends on the Go which shows the recipe in one meal serving size or how to make large batches to freeze for later
The last cookbook that I acquired was Fresh by Anna Olson. I was a finalist in Real Women of Philadelphia Canada, and she gave each of us one of her cook books when we had lunch together. It is just lovely, I can’t wait to try some of her favourite recipes.
The next cook book that I hope to purchase is Sugar Baby. It gives detailed instructions on how to prepare all different types of confections, and the photos are just beautiful!
The last cookbook I bought was one of Trisha Yearwood’s…I can’t remember which. My next purchase will be what ever catches my eye! I love to flip through cookbooks and the tasty kitchen website passes the boring moments at work…I sit at my computer and browse through the recipes!

I received Double Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld as a gift a couple months ago. “Good, simple food for busy, complicated lives”. I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to try any recipes out yet. But I will!

The last cookbook I bought was “Kiss My Bundt” which was written by the Owner of Kiss My Bundt Bakery. I love the recipes because it’s the first cookbook I’ve seen totally dedicated to bundt cakes. The next book I want to by is “The Big Book of Cupcakes” by Betty Crocker.
For a while now I’ve scoured used bookstores looking for Maida Heatter’s Cookie book, and recently found her Book of Great Desserts. Would love to try some of Miette’s recipes—to bring a little of San Francisco back home to me!

The last cookbook I bought was a homemade family cookbook. Great recipes tried and true.
Sadly, I have been a very broke individual for the last few years and all my extra money goes to dog-related things or bills, so I don’t acquire cookbooks — or any books for that matter — very often. I splurged just recently on “How to Break an Egg: 1,453 Kitchen Tips, Food Fixes, Emergency Substitutions, and Handy Techniques” because I couldn’t scribble down enough helpful hints at the bookstore without getting glared at by employees and it was just a fantastic read with a lot of information I didn’t know.
I literally spend hours sitting on the floor at Barnes & Noble looking at every cookbook I can get my hands on. I don’t keep tabs on so-and-so’s upcoming new book, but I look forward to working on my baking cookbooks the next time I’ve got a little cash to spend on something other than bills and rent.
The last cookbook I got was a huge dessert encyclopedia from Better Homes and Gardens (I think). It’s huge!
I picked up a copy of Cooks Country (one for me and one for a gift). I want almost anything I see, but I am trying to control myself and use the ones that I have more. I just moved and found some I ‘forgot’ about. I also have a new grill so the grilling around the world book is looking forward to some new use related spots!
