Last fall during the book tour, I visited a bunch of cupcake bakeries and sweet shops in just about every city I passed through. Miette was one of my favorites in San Francisco. If you get a chance, make sure to give them a visit.
They have two locations. One in the Ferry Building and one on Octavia Street. They also have one in Oakland and another opening later this year in Larkspur, California.
In San Francisco, the one on Octavia Street is bigger than the Ferry building location, but both are just as cute as can be.
I loved the colors and the display of sweets. So did Julie.
Everywhere you turn are the cutest treats with adorable packaging.

Miette recently released a cookbook filled with recipes of their signature sweets.
Pretty awesome.
And pretty cute. I love the scalloped pages.
It ties in beautifully with the shop accents.

I made the Tomboy Cake. So good. It’s made with chocolate and cocoa.
And I must say, it feels good to feel like baking again.

The last cookbook I got was the Better Homes and Gardens: Casual Entertaining Cookbook: my mom is building a collection of all the hardback BHaG topic cookbooks (she’s got probably more than 50) and she gives me the duplicates she picks up at the used bookstores.
The next cookbook I really want is Alton Browns latests with all the recaps of Good Eats episodes.

The last cookbook I received was from my husband’s family. I unfortunately never got a chance to meet his grandmother (she was known for her amazing angel food cakes) who had written a cook book back in the 80s. At the bottom of each page is a very short story or quote about someone in the family. I love being apart of such a wonderful family and learning so much about them through a cookbook!

Last cookbook I purchased was for a unit fundraiser (we are a military family) where all of the families of the unit worked together to publish while the Soldiers were deployed. I actually received a bag of about 12 cookbooks from a friend. About half of them were vegetarian cookbooks so I passed those on to a vegetarian friend & added the rest to my collection. One of them was Small-Batch Baking by Debby Maugans Nakos which is perfect because I love inviting one friend over for quality time & homemade treats (and having no waste). :)

But I also like having books and magazines cake related that are eye candy. I love this woman’s shop! If I had a storefront, I would want it to look like that! I love the colors and how pretty it is. Um, I have to think about this for a minute! I do receive a bimonthly recipe magazine called Taste of Home and Simply Delicious…not sure if they would count as cookbooks or not? I did buy a collection in a recipe cookbook from Taste of Home…it is fabulous! Between the pictures and the down to earth reicpes I can understand I really love it!

Sheesh, I have a looong list of books I want. The last cookbook I got was one in Thailand on Thai cooking (duh ;) The next one I want is Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes or Cupcakes from the Cake Mix Doctor or Yum Yum Bento Box (maybe my daughter will eat lunch!).
The last cookbook I purchased was My New Orleans by John Besh.

I just bought one the Goumet collections from Amazon, and I am in love. I think I’ll try to get my hands on a Top Chef cookbook next.
Honestly the last cook book that I bought was your cake pops book lol. I got it back in February when I was looking for something different to do for my fiance’s birthday cake and that was it!! I have fallen inlove with that book and with cake pops ^_^. They’re so much fun. And more fun to eat ^_^
I don’t have any cookbooks of my own, I mostly just borrow them from my mom, the last one I looked through was ‘a year in chocolate” so many gorgeous desserts and photographs! yum!! The next one I’d like to get is this miette book! Although I live near San Francisco, and have passed by their spot in the ferry terminal a hundred times, I’ve never actually stopped and gotten anything! (after seeing your pictures, I’m wondering how I could have resisted!)

I just received Cupcakes by Martha Stewart as a wedding gift, haven’t tried anything yet, but hope to soon! yum!!

The last cookbook I bought was Jan Moon’s Big Book of Cupcakes presented by Southern Living. So much fun! The funny thing is I was eyeing the miette cookbook online for my next purchase. It’s too pretty to resist!

I received a cobblers & crumbles cookbook for my wedding, which I’m SO excited to use – but my husband doesn’t like berries (I told him that may be grounds for divorce!). I think my next cookbook will be bread, since I’ve finally gotten over my fear of baking with yeast.

Deceptively Delicious! by Jessica Seinfield. My mother gave it to me. It’s great for hiding veggies in my kids’ food.
I think the last cookbook I got was a kids one- I have been just using lots of recipies I find on-line and kind of making my own book of my favorites- or ones I want to try.
