Last fall during the book tour, I visited a bunch of cupcake bakeries and sweet shops in just about every city I passed through. Miette was one of my favorites in San Francisco. If you get a chance, make sure to give them a visit.

They have two locations. One in the Ferry Building and one on Octavia Street. They also have one in Oakland and another opening later this year in Larkspur, California.

In San Francisco, the one on Octavia Street is bigger than the Ferry building location, but both are just as cute as can be.

Miette recently released a cookbook filled with recipes of their signature sweets.

I made the Tomboy Cake. So good. It’s made with chocolate and cocoa.

And I must say, it feels good to feel like baking again.

I unfortunately never got a chance to meet his grandmother (she was known for her amazing angel food cakes) who had written a cook book back in the 80s. At the bottom of each page is a very short story or quote about someone in the family. I love being apart of such a wonderful family and learning so much about them through a cookbook!

    I’ve seen the store Miette featured on-line before, but didn’t realize that they had a cookbook. This would be the cookbook that I would like to own, next – for the recipes & the pictures – love the idea of “smaller” sized treats. (I’d be very happy to own the cakes pans as well) It would be fun to include some of the recipes on my blog. Thank you!!

    Sheesh, I have a looong list of books I want. The last cookbook I got was one in Thailand on Thai cooking (duh ;) The next one I want is Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes or Cupcakes from the Cake Mix Doctor or Yum Yum Bento Box (maybe my daughter will eat lunch!).

  161. Honestly the last cook book that I bought was your cake pops book lol. I got it back in February when I was looking for something different to do for my fiance’s birthday cake and that was it!! I have fallen inlove with that book and with cake pops ^_^. They’re so much fun. And more fun to eat ^_^

  162. I don’t have any cookbooks of my own, I mostly just borrow them from my mom, the last one I looked through was ‘a year in chocolate” so many gorgeous desserts and photographs! yum!! The next one I’d like to get is this miette book! Although I live near San Francisco, and have passed by their spot in the ferry terminal a hundred times, I’ve never actually stopped and gotten anything! (after seeing your pictures, I’m wondering how I could have resisted!)
