Last fall during the book tour, I visited a bunch of cupcake bakeries and sweet shops in just about every city I passed through. Miette was one of my favorites in San Francisco. If you get a chance, make sure to give them a visit.
They have two locations. One in the Ferry Building and one on Octavia Street. They also have one in Oakland and another opening later this year in Larkspur, California.
In San Francisco, the one on Octavia Street is bigger than the Ferry building location, but both are just as cute as can be.
I loved the colors and the display of sweets. So did Julie.
Everywhere you turn are the cutest treats with adorable packaging.
Lovely macarons.
Panna Cotta and Pots de Creme.
Little cakes.
Lots of little cakes. Miette is known for their sweets of smaller scale.
These are all 6 inch cakes which makes them even more charming.
And check out their cupcakes. Beautiful!
Miette recently released a cookbook filled with recipes of their signature sweets.
Pretty awesome.
And pretty cute. I love the scalloped pages.
It ties in beautifully with the shop accents.
See. Same cupcakes.
But that’s not all.
Marshmallows. I must make some soon.
Crackers and cookies.
Tarts and tartlettes. I just want to sink my teeth right in. Forget the fork.
Caramels.
And cakes.
I made the Tomboy Cake. So good. It’s made with chocolate and cocoa.
And I must say, it feels good to feel like baking again.
Here’s the Tomboy Cake Recipe straight from the book, courtesy of my and Miette’s publisher, Chronicle Books.
But that’s not all.
This book is just so cute that I thought I’d give you guys a chance to win a copy.
And because most people don’t already own 6 X 3 inch pans, I’m giving away two straight and two contour pans so you can make all the little Miette cakes you want. I’m also including some tartlet pans in case you don’t have any of those handy either.
To enter for a chance to win, just leave a comment on this post and answer the following question.
- What was the last cookbook you acquired or what is the next cookbook you can’t wait to get your hands on?
- Deadline to enter is Tuesday, July 12 at 7:00 pm ET. Sorry, time’s up. Winner announced below.
- One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Tuesday evening.
Good Luck!
Giveaway sponsored by me.
Okay, time to announce the winner of this cute little cookbook and petite pans.
The winner is comment #2636

There are way too many to say what I’ll get next (this one does look pretty tasty)! I almost had to re-buy your book – we had some relatives over this past week that wanted to steal it on me!
I can’t wait to get my hands on Cake Pops…that’s my next cookbook purchase.
I must say first, that I am happy to hear you and your mother are recovering nicely. As for the last cookbook I bought, it was cook once, eat twice. I have a large family so it has been very helpful. My cupboard does mostly have sweet cookbooks in it. I love to bake, not cook. The next one I would love to have though is PW’s.
I just got the King Authur Flours Baking Companion. I haven’t made anything from it, but there are some good ones in there!
I would love to have THIS cookbook! It looks amazing. The last cookbook I got was a “Fun Stuff-Cupcakes” book because it has directions for hedgehog cupcakes, and my hedgehog-loving son wants those for his next birthday.
Glad to see u up and about again :)
Just bought the Alice medrich chewy gooey crunchy cookie book not so long ago..
I’m a sucker for pretty cookbooks, even though I use Internet recipes usually.. My next one – the miette one if I don’t win one!
The last book I purchased was The Cake Doctor. I would love to make Miette a part of my recipe collection
I just bought Gweneth Paltrow’s My Father’s Daughter cookbook & am enjoying it. Can’t wait to trying cooking something from it…
The last cookbook I bought was Teens Cook Dessert (along with a Cooks Illustrated baking book) for my stepdaughter for Christmas. She wants to do it professionally, but doesn’t quite have the skills yet. And the book I really want is this one to give to her (I’ve actually had it on hold at the library for a couple of weeks already.)
The Pioneer Woman’s was my last one!
I know it sounds self-serving, but the last cookbook I bought was your Cake Pop book. -I live on the opposite shore(Scituate,Ma) from Miette-I wish that there was one here! What a beautiful shop and their book is too sweet with the scalloped pages. I sure hope I win it! Cindy macintosh603@hotmail.com
I can’t wait to get my hands on your Cake Pops cookbook – I love your blog and your creativity! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
My last cookbook was Cake Pops : ) It’s so amazing! I think I would love the Miette cookbook – I’d be so happy if that was my next one! I’m also craving Mediterranean flavors lately, so maybe a Greek cookbook could be in my future! I love cookbooks with LOTS of pictures – that’s a must for me!
The last cookbook I bought was Pioneer Woman’s.
The last cookbook I bought was a Whoopie Pie cookbook which I absolutely adore!
The Pioneer Woman cookbook for my sister-in-law. I would love to buy baking cook books all the time, but we just don’t have enough shelf space for them. I’d definitely make room for this one though.
The last cookbook I received was Booze Cakes. The displays in the photo are very cute.
The last cookbook I received was Diana Stobo’s Get naked fast. My next cookbook will be the Pioneer Woman’s cookbook.
I just bought Bakerella’s “Cake Pops” a week ago…..and Miette would make another great inspiring book to have one hand.
The last cookbook purchased was The Pioneer Woman Cooks and the next one will probably be Miette! I am also so happy to hear that you feel like baking again!
My last cookbook was a neighborhood cookbook my sister gave me for my birthday. A cookbook I’ve been wanting is Our Best Bites cookbook.
the last cookbook i bought was your cake pop one and i can’t wait to get this Miette cookbook!!!
The last cookbook I bought was Cake Pops by Bakeralla. When I saw this post for Miette, I need to get this cookbook. I’m glad your having a contest for it.
First off, so glad you’re back!!! I missed you! Glad you’re feeling better. :)
The last cookbook I bought was this wonderful gourmet of San Francisco book with gorgeous pictures of foods almost too pretty to eat, and every recipe I’ve made is absolutely delicious and reminds me of home. The next few cookbooks I’m lusting after are Japanese cookbooks since we will be moving to Japan in just a couple months. I’m sure there are going to be some amazing things over there and I cannot wait to experience a new culture. This cute SF cookbook is now on my list because I LOVE their shops! They really are adorable and yummy.
Once again, welcome back. :)
The last cookbook I bought was the “Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies” by Alice Medrich. It’s absolutely fantastic! I love all the different types of cookies and the different textures they have.
Though…it’s not helping me fit into my wedding dress any! Lol.
Pioneer Woman Cooks was my last new cookbook. Very useful.
So happy to hear from you Bakerella! Hope you are well.
My husband and daughter got me one for Mother’s Day by Reader’s Digest. I still need CakePops and PW’s tho:) And this one just looks heavenly with all the yummy treats!
The last cookbook I got was Babycakes!! Gluten free cupcakes!
My last cookbook purchase was Dorie Greenspan’s “Around My French Table”, and I can’t wait to get my hands on “Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a Day”!
I received the Martha Stewart cupcake book as a gift.
