I had the most wonderful, incredible, emotional and unforgettable few days at the first-ever international cake pop conference in Philadelphia this weekend hosted by KCBakes. I was the keynote speaker and shared my story of creating cake pops back in 2008. It was the most humbling experience talking to so many people whose lives have been touched by cake pops. From simply inspiring creativity in the kitchen to completely changing the way people make a living through home businesses and large scale bakeries, pop products, boxes, books and more – Cake Pops are so much more than just a little ball of cake on a stick.

My favorite dish that I make for thanksgiving is my Dutch apple pie. Flaky crust, a variety of tender apples and a yummy crumbly topping! And of course a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to go with it!

I love the sweet potato casserole. Not the traditional way, but a whipped puree with a streusel topping. Honestly, I don’t know why I don’t make it all the time, we love it so much! Of course, that takes away the anticipation of the special meal.

Everyone looks forward to the walnut poundcake made with my mother’s recipe. My mother died in 2004 but the recipe lives on!

My favorite Thanksgiving dish is my dad’s cornbread dressing. It is perfection.
Turkey and sweet potatoes for sure but it’s never Thanksgiving without lefse – a Norwegian favorite.

My favorite dish is my great-grandmother’s stuffing/dressing. She was the only one that could make it just right. My mom came close, but still didn’t have my great-grandmother’s taste. Unfortunately 4 generations later, I still haven’t mastered the recipe. But I will continue trying!
