I was in Columbus, Ohio last weekend visiting with some sweet friends that I’ve met through blogging… Wendy of Wenderly, Bridget of Bake at 350, and Amy of She Wears Many Hats. Hi guys! I mean girls.
Wendy lives in Ohio and invited us to spend a few days at her cabin in the woods. Has anyone seen that movie? And yes, I totally spent the weekend suggesting scary movie situations to them. What if this – and what if that. But mostly scaring myself. I definitely watch way too many SyFy Sunday movies. If you watch that channel, you know the ones I mean.
Anyway, we kicked off our fun cabining weekend with a straight from the airport pitstop for lunch and then Jeni’s ice cream. Yay!
Jeni’s is based in Ohio and I’ve been wanting to visit one of her scoop shops for some time now.
She has some incredible flavors. Or should I say splendid.
And yogurt too.
I love all the chalk writing and window words. So cute.
The inside of the store is perfect with the ceiling strung in little lights and paper garland.
You can buy ice cream by the scoop and by the pint. Whoohoo!

Like this one for flu season. Influenza sorbet.
Soothing for the sickly. Made with cayenne pepper, ginger, bourbon, honey, orange and lemon juices.
Handwritten! Love it and love how the same flavors are written by different people. What a fun way to add that personal touch.
And now I have a strange desire get a job handwriting ice cream labels. I wonder if I could add hearts and smiley faces.
By the way, if you’re in Ohio, stop what you are doing right now and run and get some of that Maple Walnut ice cream. It’s fantastic. I think that container on the top right is actually mocking me right now with all of its maple amazingness. I even tried to order some more today online, but that flavor is seasonal and isn’t shipping. Wipes tear. So get it in stores while you can.

The staff at Jeni’s was great. Super patient. They didn’t even mind the 571 samples we asked for. But I think that’s pretty smart of them, because then we ended up ordering 571 scoops to enjoy. You know … just to be absolutely sure they were good. : )

While we were laughing and sampling, we had a fun surprise. Jeni stopped in the location we were at. With several stores, we certainly weren’t expecting that. Wendy had met her before so she introduced us.

Oh goodness…so hard to choose! I love all the frozen treats. If I had to pick, it would be ice cream…and trying to narrow it down to a favorite is just impossible! So many delicious choices!

Um… can I say yes to all three? Chocolate chip mint ice cream is a sentimental favorite since that is always what I chose when my family went out together for ice cream cones.
I love them all! My favorite Jeni’s flavor is Queen City Cayenne. I’m generally not a chocolate ice cream fan but I can’t get enough of that spicy chocolate.

I have Jeni’s cookbook. It sits in a place of honor next to my Ben & Jerry’s cookbook and The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz. For my ice cream party last year, I made a meringue topped roasted peach ice cream pie inspired by her recipes, salted caramel and something else I am forgetting at the moment, so please, oh please, count me in!

Definintely ice cream! But my husband and I were just in Italy and I love gelato as well! My favorite ice cream would have to be chocolate with peanut butter and peanut butter cups added in! Yum!

I LOVE Jeni’s! Everytime I visit my family in Columbus, we go there to get ice cream. We always taste test all the new flavors but it’s so hard for me to stay away from my favorites – dark chocolate and salted caramel.

Holy cow do we love ice cream!! i’m not kidding to say that we might get 4 or 5 bowls out of a 1/2 gallon. Hubbys fav is butter pecan, i lean towards minty stuff. Since we live so far away from her shops, I’ve ordered several times from her website. I know from this that at least 5 pints will fit in the kitchen fridge, and even more will cram into the laundry room one… Every pint I order gets devoured because Jeni’s is sooo yummy!
I love any type of frozen treat, really, but my favorite is really ice cream. Love, love, love ice cream. Right now, I’m rocking anything salted caramel (when I eat it – I’ve been dieting and recently lost 30 lbs – so I don’t eat frozen treats as often as I’d like anymore).
I will have to try Jeni’s next time I’m in Columbus (I’m only about an hour and 15 minutes from there).
While I love ice cream, lately I’ve been addicted to peanut butter frozen yogurt with raspberries and crushed graham cracker and a drizzle of dark chocolate syrup. So good!
OMGoodness! Ice, Cream, Ice Cream, Ice Cream! I love it, yogurt is ok sometimes, but the real stuff is the best, and my favorite iw the swan’s chocolate marshmellow, or here in the Twin Citeis there is Sabastian Joes Oreo that is so yummy!

I have been seriously obsessed with ice cream lately, even though It seems crazy to want ice cream when it’s below 20 degrees out.
Never tried Jeni’s ice cream but it looks yummy!
I flip for any sort of frozen treat. However, my favorite is one from Frugo’s Yogurt which is a frozen yogurt shop down here in Southern California. They have a sorbet called Hawaiian Delight and it is to die for. Although I could see one of Jeni’s ice creams quickly becoming one of my favorites too.
Im totally an ice cream girl! I don’t care if its negtive degrees I outside nothing makes my insides happier then some ice cream and Jenis unique flavors sure would make me smile inside out :)
Ice cream! yes!!! I love chocolate and peanut butter, but I am a sucker for frozen Yogurt too! Can’t we have it all? :)
All about ice cream!… or gelato, if I’m being honest.
If I had to pick between the 3, I’d definitely say ice cream! However, my faaaavorite frozen delight has to be frozen custard. So rich and creamy and wonderful. Or gelato. Or granita. Or frozen banana’s pureed into ice cream. I can’t decide!!
I grew up on Jeni’s! Jeni’s is from my hometown and I used to go there every weekend to the North Market.
And I am all about ice cream. It’s a toss up between salty caramel and wildberry lavender. Although, the dark chocolate Zinn from Izzy’s (Minneapolis) is a close second. God I love ice cream.
I absolutely looooooove ice cream.. as a child I used to sit on the front porch of our apartment and eat it during the cold winter! :) … But I also love the frozen yogurt you can serve yourself and pile on the toppings. Sure, I always get more then I should..but I also enjoy every last drop! My favorite is a mix of dulce de leche and maybe coffee flavored yogurt, topped with granola, sliced almonds and finished off with fresh strawberries. I always get the same toppings.. because if it aint broken, don’t fix it! And my tummy appreciates that. Thanks for all you do.. I visit your blog for inspiration! God bless you!
What a great giveaway! I love soft-serve frozen yogurt, or gelato! But these flavors look amazing enough to convert me to ice cream. :)

Oh my gosh…I am drooling! Ice cream is my favorite dessert…preferably peanut butter! I live in Ohio and will be checking out Jeni’s ice cream on my next trip to Columbus.
Such a hard question! I chose from Jeni’s based on the flavors, not so much whether it is ice cream, sorbet or frozen yogurt. Right now I’m enjoying the maple walnut ice cream…funny that no one else in the house knows about it, right? I am looking forward to the lavender ice cream to share with a friend who will appreciate an unusual flavor.

I LOVE Ice Cream! It should be a food group! Jeni’s is amazing. I’m always trying a different flavor of hers. I enjoy making my own sometimes too. I always enjoy a good cookie dough ice cream or salted caramel.

I LOVE both ice cream and frozen yogurt, don’t know if I have a favorite (would be like picking a favorite child, depends on the day :-) My favorite flavor changes too.
I am all about the ice cream all year long! Especially while being 18 weeks pregnant! We have a small, local ice cream shop nearby and my hubby gets sent out a couple of times a week to satisfy my cravings for ice cream. Thanks for the giveaway! :)
I love ice cream! I have been wanting to try Jeni’s for some time after reading about how yummy it is. It’s hard to pick a flavor! I like anything with cookie dough or peanut butter! Vanilla base…and I am from New Orleans so creole cream cheese ice cream is pretty wonderful, too! I don’t have any ice cream in the freezer at this point…so I’d love to have 17 pints, ha!
Ice Cream for sure! Even though it’s been in the single digits in Utah! Especially anything chessecakey! YUM!
I love ice cream, midwest “custard” ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet!!! Its very hard to pick one, but if I had to…banana nut flavored frozen yogurt…mmmmm
I SCREAM for ICE CREAM! Rich, creamy and dreamy. I love, love all and any that contain chocolate or fudge. And even when it’s -44 degrees here in the north, it’s still ice cream weather :)
