  1. Every Christmas Eve, my husband and I spend Christmas Eve with my family. We started a tradition a few years ago to go to dinner at a place called Lucille’s BBQ. It’s a place that we all love to eat at and it gives us all time to spend together no matter how busy our schedules are.

  2. my favorite part of the holidays is baking for all my family that lives out of state….this year i will be making cake balls :)

  3. Usually my husband and I spend the day together after dropping off the kids at their Mom’s and finish up any last minute wrapping (he wraps and I attach the ribbon, bows and ornaments). It’s our 1 day alone during all the running around. This year we are inviting his Mom’s family (all his aunts and uncles and cousins) for a potluck dinner. Every year my husband mentions his childhood memories of waiting on the couch looking out the window for all his family to come over on Christmas Eve and how much fun they all had. He understood that the family just got too big for them to have everyone over so it stopped. I told him it is time to start making new memories, so we are inviting them all over (and there is about 80 of them) over for Christmas Eve. It’s been at least 30+ years since they have done that and we have a house big enough to include everyone so…hoping to build some new memories together with his family.

  4. We have 2 young girls – so we spend it at home as a family, baking cookies, writing a letter to Santa, leaving a key out for him and our girls open one gift – jammies :).

  5. I love the baking & spending time with my family

  6. I’d have to say, my favorite part of Christmas is all the lights and decorations. So shiny!

  7. my favorite part of the holidays is the smiling faces of children – especially my son who still believes in Santa.

  8. The best part of the holiday is it puts everyone in the season of giving….and of course the lights

  9. For 51 years; I’ve celebrated Christmas Eve with my parents (now in their late 70’s), and my mom’s side of the family. All Italian. All crazy! It’s a traditional meatless meal (pasta with squid, etc.). The event has changed homes over the years; but for a group that started out at eight people in the late 1950’s, it’s now over 40. Lots of stories, laughing, hugging, and food!

  10. Christmas is my favorite time of year!!! Since getting married 5 1/2 years ago we have went out for Chinese food every Christmas Eve! Even with our 2 and 3 year old- rice ends up every where but we love the tradition!

  11. Favourite parts are the little lights everywhere, the snow and coming back home from the cold to a cozy atmosphere

  12. My Mom, my husband, my brother and I spend Christmas Eve wrapping presents, stuffing stockings, and drinking champagne. The calm before the storm of the next morning when everyone else shows up and I cook dinner for my extended family.

  13. This will be my first Christmas that I don’t travel back to California to be with family, so it will be just me and my husband cozied up watching movies or something :) We’ll celebrate just the two of us.

  14. My favorite thing about the Holidays is the baking. There’s just something so comforting about smelling the cinnamon, nutmeg, or apples baking in the oven. I love the smiles, the hope of the season, and the love!

  15. Christmas Eve is my anniversary, but of course, we can’t go anywhere (what were we thinking??) We spend the evening with our boys who get to open up one present before they go to bed and set out treats for Santa.

  16. The kids are all home by 10 pm and I have an assortment of appetizers and desserts, and we decide if we’ll stay up and open presents or wait till Christmas morning!

  17. Christmas eve is always spent with my husband’s family, eating potato soup & ham sandwiches-a family tradition for many many years.

  18. Christmas Eve is spent with the family, enjoying lots of seafood then dessert. We always put our Christmas cards on the tree, to be opened that night. When our kids were little, they were each given a book to open.

  19. My family usually spends Christmas Eve with friends and family over at our house with lots of appetizers, desserts, and a few cocktails. It’s a great way to start off the holidays!

  20. We spend Christmas Eve with a family gathering. We have lots of finger foods and watch Christmas movies. We open one present that evening. Then we spend Christmas day at my parents house with the traditional food and rituals.

  21. My favorite part of the holidays is any time that is spent with my family. We always have such a fun time!

  22. My favorite part of the holiday season is the music and decorations. I get really happy right after Thanksgiving when I see all the trees go up!

  23. We have a fudge festival…we invite one family over and make about 100 pounds of fudge. For that one day, our whole house turns into a candy factory. After it’s all bagged and tagged, we run around at church and give everything away…visitors, regulars…anyone we see!

  24. Christmas Eve is my day to have my family at my house. Tons of food, gifts, and celebrating. I enjoy it more than Christmas day when we all scatter to the in-laws. It’s a schedule that seems to work every year and I’ll gladly take it and cherish every moment. P.S. My 6 year old daughter has the Cake Pop kit on her Christmas list :)

  25. Every Christmas Eve, we celebrate with my family since we go to my husband’s parents’ house on Christmas. We first go to Christmas Eve mass and then to either my house or my sister’s house to have dinner, exchange presents and just be together. It’s my favorite time of year!

  26. I’d wish they allow shipment overseas of the cake pop toy to countries outside of U.S. or Canada !

I’d usually spend Christmas with my friends, very very seldom with my family or relatives. And when with friends it’s usually advanced celebrations and potluck style. All the yummy food, or rather, junk food. HAHAH not once a proper piece of cake even. This time I’m hoping that I could prepare small pieces of cakes or cookies for them this Christmas ! Love your recipes ! <3

  27. Christmas eve is usually going to church and then traditional christmas eve dinner which comprises boneless stuffed chicken, cheese brioche-like bread, ham, potato salad, edam cheese, hot chocolate, purple yam dessert, fruit salad and apple pie

  28. If we’re at home we go to a Christmas eve service. Have a yummy dinner of homemade soup and bread. Then my baby gets to open one present. A Christmas book and pajamas. Can’t wait!

  29. My favorite part of the holiday season is home full of food, candies, fruits and family to share with. :)

  30. As a child, Christmas Eve was spent with one side of our extended family having dinner, exchanging gifts, and playing with cousins. Amidst the fun, the “grown ups” would alert the children when it got too close to bed time, and remind us that Santa couldn’t come unless we were asleep in our beds. Everyone would say their goodbyes and head home, get into pj’s and set out cookies/milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Now, as one of the grown ups, I’m beginning my own traditions with my 3 year old. A tiny red mailbox appears in our yard on the first snow of December (brought by our Elf on the Shelf back from his nightly visit to Santa) and our little girl writes her letter to Santa and suits up to go out in the snow and put the letter in the mailbox. When she puts the flag up, “Nogg” knows to take the mailbox back to Santa that night and deliver her wishes. “The spirit of Christmas is in our Hearts.”

  31. my family and I go to my grandmothers house for dinner and exchange gifts then we head to my mothers house for dessert and finger foods and then around 9 pm Santa comes up all the streets on a fire truck and throws candy canes for the kids :) finally we go home and the kids leave out the cookies and milk for santa and we tuck them in to bed

  32. I spend Christmas Eve with my immediate family. My favorite thing about the holidays is all the get togethers with family & friends and decorating the house!

  33. We have our big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve with the family!
My favorite part of the season is decorating and getting ready for it! I also love playing all the Christmas music and just getting into the giving spirit!!

  34. My favorite part of the holiday season is my son’s Christmas vacation from school!! Sounds boring, but with kids in school and all the homework checking, parties, activities and the like, it’s nice to just stay home with and reconnect in that week between Christmas and New Years. We work on projects we can’t get to until summer or have movie-watching parties, curled up with popcorn and snacks. For me it really is time with my family and enjoying a tiny bit of the slower-paced life of yesteryear!

  35. We spend Christmas Eve at my mother’s house – eating yummy food, playing silly games and stacking up all the presents to be opened Christmas morning.

  36. I love all the food and decorations. I was fortunate to get lots of free christmas greenery this year and will be going all out with the decorations. And it is alwasy fun to bring cake pops to parties, so your new book would be great.

  37. I love Christmas and everything about it!! Our Christmas Eve tradition is that my daughters and I make and decorate cookies for Santa. We usually do sugar cookies and the girls each decorate a special one for Santa! Then they put their Christmas Eve PJs on and we put the cookies on a Santa plate, fill the Santa mug up with milk and leave it by the fireplace. We even leave some carrots for the reindeer!

  38. My favorite part of the Christmas holiday is getting to relax with my family, putting up the decor, listening to Christmas music, and of course, baking!

  40. I celebrate Hanukkah so Chrismas eve is always quiet by us :)
Usually Chinese dinner and a movie :)

  41. How cute!!

We usually go out to dinner on Christmas Eve, come home and open one gift, and fall asleep to a Christmas movie :)

  42. My family and I have had a tradition for years that we do on Christmas Eve, we like to get all bundled up in our warmest clothes, grab a cup of coco, and pile into the car and go look at Christmas lights. We slowly drive around in this really nice neighborhood where all of the residents put up crazy fun decorations/lights and luminaries!! We have been doing it for at least 10 years!

  43. We usually spend Christmas Eve with my parents, dinner and opening gifts. Less stressful. Then my parents come to our house for Christmas Day to be with the whole family (in laws, kids, grandkids)

  44. Christmas Eve…church, lights in the park, then birthday cake for Jesus and opening one present.

  45. My favourite part of the christmas holidays is boxing day, the one day that my family are all together to open our presents at my grandma’s its an extra christmas day and I get to see everyone which is so rare through the year.
I love cake pops and just started making them, the stockigns are so cute and could easily be personalised with names. I’m going to give them a go. Such a shame that the cake pop toy cannot be delivered to the UK.
Even if I dont win the books I think im going to have a go at making christmas themed cake pops.

  46. We snuggle in PJs, watch Christmas themed movies and look at our beautifully lit up Christmas tree. XD

  53. My favorite part is of course the baking! I get to bake lots and lots of good stuff, and then I bring them to school to my classmates. They really love me for it! :-)

  54. My dad’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, so we always have a delicious breakfast with him, then head south about 3 hours to my in-laws’ family Christmas party. We have a little one this year, so we’ll see how the holiday hustle and bustle goes this year!

  55. I always spend Christmas Eve with my family. We make shrimp scampi and stuff our faces with Christmas cookies. We go to Christmas Eve service either before or after all this gorging!

My seven year old has been asking for this cake pop toy…would be fun to try it out with her!

  56. My favorite part is the music…the food…the spirit of giving…and everything else!!

  57. I guess my favorite part of Christmas is Christmas morning. Even though my kids are in their 20s, they still come home and still get excited about that morning like they were 5 years old! They don’t get up as early as they used to but we still take the sleepy-eyed, messed-up hair picture in from of their stockings and my 21 yr old son still ends up putting every gift and bow on his head at some point (usually his christmas boxers!) Then we spend the WHOLE day vegging out, watching movies and eating candy together. This year I’ll have a grandbaby to add to the mix, can’t wait!

  58. I love the food and decorations but mostly I love the family being together and just looking at them makes me tear up.

  59. I usually spend Christmas Eve playing games and simply time with family!

  60. My favorite party of the holiday season is baking with my boys. We have so much fun making a huge mess. Then mom is stuck cleaning it all up, but it is SOOOOOO worth it!!!

  61. I love the holidays! Christmas Eve is our “calm before the storm.” We always have a very quiet, relaxing night before the Christmas craziness begins. We have a special deal with Santa so he always brings our stockings and PJs/slippers on Christmas Eve :-) We open our stockings, drive around to look at lights and then watch Christmas movies by the fire. What fun!

  62. My favorite part of Christmas is the music and the time spent with my family. Now that our son understands the magic of Christmas, I’m excited to see his face when Santa arrives at our party!

  63. I usually spend Christmas eve with my in laws for a lovely dinner, then we attend midnight mass. oh! And we make a lot of tamales :)

  64. I have two little kids so we spend Christmas Eve (after I get home from work) by opening a present (always pajamas) and getting a good warm bath. Then we make magic Reindeer food and toss it out for Santa’s Reindeer. We always bake cookies and, after eating some with some milk, set them out for Santa. We read the story of Christmas from Luke and The Night Before Christmas. Sometimes we read other books. Then we go to bed and wait for the morning.

  65. My favorite part of Christmas is the baking! There are so many family gatherings, and therefore so many excuses to try some new recipes as well as make the old favorites.

  66. On Christmas Eve we attend church service. Afterwards come home to a food bar where everyone assembles and creates there own food… Such as a grilled cheese bar, pannini bar, pizza bar…. After, we all cram into cars and go see the christmas lights and sing carols.

  67. I haven’t had any Christmas Eve traditions since I was a young kid. I hope to start some new ones with my boyfriend’s family this year! I remember putting out cookies and eggnog for Santa and we always got to open one gift that was already under the tree.

  68. I work on Christmas Eve usually, and get home late. My hubby and I open a bottle of wine, and then open one gift each. We then wobble to bed and open the rest the next morning. THEN, we have lobster and more wine for Christmas dinner!! :)

  70. The holiday pops are so cute!!

Christmas eve is my husband’s birthday, so we try to do something birthday related for him. We also let the kids open one present before Santa comes.

My favorite tradition, besides cookies, is when i was growing up we had a rotating tree stand made by my grandpa. It was silver and had the story of the nativity going around. The lights would switch from day colors to night colors as well. My grandpa stopped making them, so i don’t have one, but my husband knows how to modify a store bought one to be awesome.

  71. On Christmas Eve we go to church and then head over to my parent’s house for dinner. My kids open their first round of gifts from their grandparents and we listen to Christmas carols and enjoy everyones company. When we get home we put out our cookies for Santa and sprinkle reindeer food on the front lawn. We tuck the kids to bed and prep for the morning!!
The best part of the holidays is spending it with family and friend with lots of food and making memories.

  72. First, I’m going to lead off with I didn’t realize those were cake pops and not actual bells in the first picture until I started reading.

  79. On Christmas Eve we go out and drive around town looking at Christmas lights and decorations. People are so creative.

  80. Well, we’re not Italian, but we like the tradition of “Seven Fishes,” so instead on Christmas Eve we do “Seven Junks” – seven different kinds of junk food :) It’s always fun to see the kinds of things my sisters and our families can think up to bring for this silly, and yet so special, get together!

  81. Sorry I missed you at KoP Signing. Cleaning up from Sandy. Next time, definitely. My favorite part of Xmas is buying presents for my family that I think they will like and then have them really like them. Also, making homemade cookie trays for friends (some people NEVER bake) and seeing them devour them!

  82. Usually extended family gets together to have a huge dinner

  83. We spend Christmas Eve at my parent’s house, opening gifts and eating soup and “heavy” appetizers. It’s fun and casual.

  84. Christmas Eve is when we do a big dinner with my moms side of the family.

  85. Christmas Eve is spent with my side of the family. My parents, my sister and brothers and their families all gather at my house for dinner and a gift exchange. It is so much fun to get all the kids together and make memories.

  86. Every Christmas Eve, we travel to my husband’s family farm. The men feed the cows while the women cook. We have to wait until sunset before we open any gifts and then we finish the night with pecan pie. After we leave the farm, my husband and I go to midnight Mass with my family. It’s the exact same ritual every year and I LOVE IT!

  87. My favorite part of the holiday season is baking cookies for my family.

  88. My favourite part of the season is thinking of all the gifts I could make and planning and making or buying them.

  89. Christmas is a really busy time for us. We usually have to go to two houses that night. It’s time to spend with our family, food, and lots of laughs.

  90. My sister and I watch White Christmas, sing along with every song and get teary eyed when everything works out perfectly in the end! The teary eyes may be the ‘spiced’ eggnog…

  91. Christmas Eve is usually spent over at my aunt’s playing board games with family and friends of family. Used to be we’d drive the long way home and look at the lights, but we live in a retirement town and most are unable to decorate these past few years, so it’s not as much fun anymore.

  92. I usually spend Christmas Eve with my kids and husband. We make cookies to leave out for Santa, ride around looking at Christmas lights and drinking hot chocolate. Then after the kiddos are in bed, I put out all the Santa gifts. This year when the rest of the family goes to bed, I will be heading to work. I work in the NICU and usually have to work.

  93. Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the holiday season. That’s when my family gets together and eats lot of fish (we’re italian), open presents and go to midnight mass!

  100. Ohhhh, please pick me! :)

  101. Our Christmas Eve is spent with my uncles, cousins and their kids as we open all the gifts and go to church. Its a tradition we have had since I was a kid and back then Santa would bring us our gifts in person. Lucky us!! Now the best part of Christmas is playing Christmas music starting in Oct, making lots of fruit cakes thats had raisins and currants soaked in Goslings black rum for months and also making lots of cookies to give to friends and family. Then just before the big day, I make our Bermudian traditional, savoury cassava pies, also to share with friends and family.

  104. On Christmas Eve everyone in my immediate family and my grammy gets together at my parents’ house. We have dinner and exchange gifts with my grandmother. Then we all go down and watch the Christmas parade then head our separate ways from there.

I love everything about Christmas but mostly spending time with my family and of course all the baking that goes along with the holidays.

  105. My 2 sisters and their families and my brother would all go to my Mom’s house and have dinner and open a small gift. We would read The Night Before Christmas and all spend the night so we could get up bright and early Christmas morning.

  106. We love spending Christmas Eve together as a family. We always make shrimp chowder and other holiday goodies and play games. We also love driving around looking at Christmas lights with our warm coffee and hot chocolate for the kids :)

  108. My cousins always come over and we have a gingerbread house creation competition… We make our aunts and uncles vote on the winner and we even have a plaque with the names of previous years’ winners :) Oh and by the way, I’m almost 30. This is not a child writing this post :)

We also always have to watch Home Alone or Home Alone 2. It’s probably my favourite day of the whole year.

  109. Our Christmas Eve starts early – we go to my mother in laws and make a traditional Acadian meal – Poutines Rapee (not fries, cheese and gravy – we call that Poutine Quebecoise)

Acadian Poutine Rapee is made with grated potatoes and pork shaped into a ball (softball size) and boiled. I takes a few hours to get them made and three more hours to cook them, we usually make between 80 and 90. It’s not my favorite but the rest of his family and mine go crazy for this Christmas Eve treat.

Thank you for the great giveaway!

  110. I love sitting in front of the Christmas tree and reading by the light of the tree.

  111. This might sound crazy, but ever since I was a little girl, my family has always had chinese food on Christmas Eve. And now it doesn’t feel like Christmas without it!

  112. My favorite part of the holiday is the time off from work to be with my family with no agenda other than enjoying being with them!

  113. We decorate sugar cookies and attend a Christmas Eve service. But maybe decorating cake pops would be more fun this year!!

  115. On Christmas Eve, my mom’s side of the family all goes over to my grandpa’s house to play games, eat lots of food, and open little “white elephant” sort of presents. It’s a lot of fun. But this year it might just be me, my mom, my dad, my sister, and my grandpa at our house.

  116. I usually spend Christmas Eve with my familiy at my Mums house!

  117. On Christmas Eve we open one present and it is usually a dumb little toy or something but we’ve always done it and it is so fun!

  118. We go to church and after that we have a special dinner. My favorite part about the holidays is baking and spending lots of time with family.

  119. Christmas Eveis spent at church were we have a Children’s live nativity play. Then after church we have a queit dinner with my in- laws at my house with the table set in Christmas dishes( that were his mothers) that a family freind gave me for making & giving them Christmas cookies one Christmas.

  120. Now that I have kids of my own, we go to Christmas Eve mass and then to my parents’ house for dinner and gifts from the family. We used to do a more formal dinner, but now with all of the kids, we learned to simplify the meal because the kids just want to play together and open presents. As much as I like to bake, I also don’t want my kids to remember their mom as a stressed out cranky lady every Christmas so I try to keep things in perspective!

  121. Oh, i LOVE the holidays. Spending time with family and friends and enjoying every second enjoy the magic of Christmas :)

  122. Christmas eve is as important as Christmas day in France. We love to indulge in extra calories and chat all night!! Now living in Ireland I like to keep this tradition going and always invite friends and neighboors around!

  123. Christmas Eve is always spent with family. The past 4 years we’ve hosted, but this year we might change things and spend the evening with my Grandma. Lost of yummy food, singing, and Midnight Mass.

  124. On Christmas eve we usually go to church, then come home for a fancy dinner and gifts. I love it! :)

  125. Our Christmas Eve tradition started as a complete fluke. I didn’t want to bake or cook one more thing, so my hubby, myself and a friend went out for sushi. There was NOBODY there!! 8 years later we still hit sushi on Christmas Eve, it’s grown to include our two kids and more friends too. We enjoy each others company and get ready for the food coma that’s to come!!

    Happy Holidays

At night, we go to our church’s Christmas Eve service and then back home to finish wrapping whatever presents that weren’t finished. 189. We spend our Christmas Eve eating a big meal, looking at picutres of past Christmases and then we go to chuch late for the candlelight service.

  190. Christmas Eve has always been the big celebration in my family. We all go to church together, then have a meal (usually pizza) and share all of our home-baked goods. Yum! Then, we exchange gifts. Since I was a kid we have picked a name and gotten a gift for someone that would fit the chosen theme for the year. We started off with stockings (since none of us had one) and moved to ornaments. As we ran out of ideas, the themes got crazier – something purple, something hot, one pound of something. The gag gift exchange is the highlight of the evening. Years ago, we did away with exchanging nice gifts for the adults and now choose a charity or adopt a family to buy gifts for. Its the most wonderful time of the year!

  196. My favorite part of the holiday season is that I am able to recreate my childhood memories. I spent this time of year, growing up, with each of my grandmothers, baking and recreating the traditions of their childhood. Old-World cookies, cakes, and treats were made with love, grandmother and grandchild side-by-side. I always tell everyone I was taught how to bake from the best: two little old Italian women!

  197. Congrats on your continuing success! My favorite part of the holiday season is the music. I love Christmas carols, and I don’t mind that radio stations start playing them nonstop right after Thanksgiving! I hum “Jingle Bells” year-round! By the way, thanks for the great opportunity!
