And now for the winners…
We go to my in-laws’ church for their Christmas Eve service, then back to the house for supper and opening presents. My favorite part is when they dim the lights in the sanctuary, everyone lights their candles and we sing “Silent Night” acapella, gives me goosebumps thinking about the birth of my Savior!
I love to decorate for the holidays, and being we family and friends.
Christmas Eve is spent at my Grandparents house – opening presents, eating great food, and enjoying each others company.
I would love to win a copy of your book!
My favorite part of the holiday season is on Christmas Eve – watching my husband get all the toys from Santa put together warms my heart. We always try to make it look like Santa left a mess (a footprint, crumbs from cookies) and soot on the toys. He goes overboard to keep our kids innocent and still believin’ in the big guy.
For the last 25 years we have spent Christmas eve with my best friend and her family. We all bring something to eat and eat too much. We watch the kids open their presants and My spirit is always revived by their pleasure awe. It has been so much fun watching them grow up and now seeing their children. Christmas day we are blessed th have our children and extended family. That’s what it is all about………family and friends.
We always spend Christmas Eve at my grandparents’ house, the whole family together. Each family brings a dish, we pray and then eat at midnight, and then we exchange presents, it’s a lot of fun! My favorite holiday :)
We spend Christmas eve with my in laws…my favorite part of the Christmas season is the food and being thankful as i look around the room with my family! We are so blessed!
thanks for an opportunity to WIN.
With family! We usually eat Tex-Mex for lunch and then go to Mass that evening.
Christmas eve we stay at home. Kids decorate Santa’s cookies and my husband reads The Night Before Christmas before bed to the kids, and we open 1 present each.
My favorite part is watching my children with their children now, and knowing that they are good, stong, loving parents, who are teaching their children, by example, to be thoughtful and loving people. It makes my heart sing!
I love that the holidays, because it brings family and friends together. I love being able to bake everything and anything.
I love everything about the holidays… Family, food, gift giving!
Love to spend Christmas Eve watching Christmas movies with my husband and a bottle of wine.
Oooh, cool! I celebrate Christmas Eve by doing the Feast of the 7 Fishes – I cook 7 courses of different types of fish and seafood for dinner on Christmas Eve. My favorite part of Christmas is getting to spend time with family!
After years (and years) of “making do” with hand-me-down trees, I finally saw the 75% off sale at the local hobby store and purchased the perfect tree. I am so fussy about this tree that I allow very VERY little assistance when decorating it! I receive comments like, “Did you do this yourself?!?” And, “It looks like a store window tree!” It makes me so happy that I don’t care “a lick” about presents anymore! Although, I never turn down another snowman for my ornament collection!!
Your creations are so inspiring! My daughter would LOVE to have a copy of your book…so my fingers are crossed! Thank you for this opportunity!
My favorite part of the Holiday is everyone taking the time for others and remembering why we celebrate this Holiday.
I love that the holidays brings people together, I love cooking and baking for my family and the joy on there faces when they try something and really like it. I also get to bake everything and anything I want.
Christmas Eve with my family, Christmas morning just hubby and kids, then Christmas dinner with in-laws. Thanks goodness we all live nearby! It’s wonderful!
On Christmas Eve we like to get out with a big cup of hot cocoa or apple cider and ride around and look at all the Christmas lights (the people that really go ALL out). Then we come home and wait for Santa! :)
We always go to Mass on Christmas eve with whatever family members happen to be home that year. It’s the best!
We spend Christmas Eve day with family and friends. Then, my immediate family has dinner out followed by a tour of the lighs in the park.
It depends on where we spend it. If we are at my in-laws’ house, then we are at church and opening presents afterwards. If it’s at my parents’ house, then it’s spend celebrating my dad’s birthday (he is a Christmas Eve baby).
On Christmas Eve, our entire extended family got together at my Grandmother’s house for a potluck. Fun, good eats, and lots of noise. Oh, how I miss those days!
For our Christmas Eve, we always have a picnic! My mom had this tradition since she was little and all through my childhood. Now my kids love it as much as I do. We have all kinds of fun, picnic type foods, finger foods etc, and then we put on Christmas music and put a blanket down in front of the tree. Then we have our meal, talk and laugh and just spend time together. Sometimes friends and/or relatives join us, sometimes just us. We have spent the last 4 Christmas’ traveling, due to my dad’s illness and have even had our picnic in a hotel before. My dad passed in June, so our tradition will be even more meaningful this year. Oh, and the kids get to open one present! Thanks for this opportunity!!
We have Christmas Day dinner at our house for the entire family so we are usually preparing for that but we do usually fit in a Christmas movie like Holiday Inn or White Christmas during our preparations! Thanks for the chance to win!!
We start with a big dinner and then read the Christmas Story and open one gift which is the PJ. We drive around the neighborhood singing Christmas carols and enjoying ights. We then are off to bed. This year will be a little bit different since all 6 of our kids will be home and one is married with a toddler. It will be fun having a baby in the house again.
We spend Christmas Eve with my husband’s parents- dinner, opening gifts, eating cookies and just talking. Then Christmas Day is with my whole family. Love spending time with everyone and eating cookies we only make once a year!
Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the holiday season – the excitement of Christmas the next day, lots of baking and cooking, and watching Christmas movies! Christmas Eve dinner is my favorite as well! Happy holiday season!!
My favorite part of the holiday is Christmas eve where we spend the evening going to church and opening gifts with my family and then spend the night with my in laws and spend christmas morning with them:)
My favorite part of Christmas is putting out decorations. We have collected ornaments for the kids since they were born and still add every years. I love getting the ornaments out and remembering all the special memories they bring.
Christmas Eve spent with family and we all open one gift each with a chinese gift exchange. Singing all around .best part is dinner and family!
We read a Christmas story around the tree and each open one gift!
We spend every Christmas Eve at home with our three kids. We enjoy reading various Christmas stories in front of the fire, and getting cookies ready for Santa (and carrots for the reindeer, of course)!
My 5 year old daughter has the cake pop toy set at the top of her list! I can’t wait to let her sit and make her own cake pops while I make mine. Such a great idea!
Thanks as always for the fun and inspiration!
When I was a freshman in college I found out that my dad often played the part of Santa during the holiday season. My parents had kept it from me for sometime so as not to ruin the illusion. Once I found out, I got into the Santa spirit myself. I started dressing as Jingles the Elf and going along with Santa on his Christmas Eve rounds. We visited a handful of houses (family and friends) to surprise the little ones. It was great fun for all involved and my Pop and I got to be a part of their special holiday memories. I don’t get to go on Santa’s rounds with him anymore since I’ve moved away but he still makes time in each Christmas Eve for a few special children. Those are memories I will never forget!
My favorite part of the season is when family all comes together to celebrate and enjoy each others company!
We usually gather together with family and have a big dinner and enjoy time together. This year, we’ll be cuddling our newborn… =)
We are usually at the in-laws house having Christmas there. We do all of our visiting prior to Christmas day so that the kids can have Christmas day at home in their pajamas playing with their gifts.
I love decorating
Christmas Eve is always spent at my parents house. Lots of food, friends, family and drinks. By the end of the night my dad, who is a dj, has us singing karaoke until the wee hours. Some how Christmas presents manage to make it under the tree for the little ones :) . Christmas Eve is always filled with good memories.
When I was growing up Christmas Eve was always spent decorating the tree during the day and then depending on which of us was singing in which age choir that year, early or late Christmas Eve church service. Dad always liked to have a nice “lunch” once we were all home from church, and Mom would break out the first big tray of Christmas cookies.
We always spend Christmas Eve at home decorating cookies for Santa :)
We always spend Christmas Eve as a family, dinner then presents. I am not looking forward to the day when my girls don’t believe, the magic will be gone.
Christmas Day is a hectic day of spending half the day with hubby’s family, and then driving an hour to spend the other half of the day with mine. But Christmas Eve is just for the two of us, and we love it – we often bake cookies (which we rarely do any other time of year), treat ourselves to dinner at Red Lobster (gorging on cheese biscuits and seafood!), and then exchange our gifts for each other and our puppy dog. I love Christmas Eve with my tiny family. :)
We started a Christmas Eve tradition six years ago after my husband got home from a short deployment. We always put out an open invite to everyone in his squadron and we have appetizers and dessert and play games all night. Everyone has a blast.
Christmas eve we always watch A Christmas Carol (the 1984 version) and eat finger foods. After that we give each other a gift- usually pajamas to wear that night, and sometimes a book before bed. It’s been a tradition since childhood and thankfully my husband’s childhood was similar so we’ve continued even into our marriage! Hopefully one day with our kids, too :)
Go to church, family tradition of having hot dogs for dinner and then just rest and wait for the joy!
Christmas Eve is spent with my immediate family. We have the traditional Italian seven fish dinner, Though trying to get to have all seven fishes is difficult we have done really well in recent years. And for those who do not eat fish we do order pizza. After dinner we eat homemade cookies and open presents.
We will take the kids out in the car to look at all the Christmas lights. They get to open one package, which is new pajamas. We set our cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer.
Can’t wait to see the new book. I’m getting ready to try making the Turkey Pops from your first book. My favorite part of the holidays is Christmas night, after everyone is in bed, and I can sit quietly and look at the tree and just think about the day!
On Christmas Eve, we just sit together around the fireplace and chat. We also bake cookies ^-^. We have special dinners that my sister and I make while the rest of the family watches t.v. or sleeps. (:
I already have the toy, and I love the cake grater, you need to make one a bit bigger because I got a bigger mixer and it’s not as easy to use, but I still love it!
My favorite part of the holiday is the buildup to Christmas! Getting everybody’s list, shopping, and decorating. I especially love baking treats, cookies, and cake pops for the holiday!!
I love decorating and baking for the holidays! I’m probably going to start making cookie dough this weekend, actually. :-D
We spend Christmas eve at my mom’s brother house untill 11:30 and then we go to my grandma’s house (my dad’s mom) and we do a scavenger’s hunt and release some helium balloons instead of fireworks with a wish attached to it. Then we have some christmas feast and open the presents, etc. Love the holidays because all our family from around the world come back home to Peru. Merry Christmas everybody :)
My favorite part of the holiday season is baking yummy desserts for friends & family. I usually take a day off of work just to bake my usual cookies (anise cookies, chocolate & butterscotch chip cookies and almond bars) and then I make cheesecakes the night before each holiday gathering. The house always smells so good!
My family gets together all the time, but Christmas Eve dinner is the biggest tradition in our family that was started by my late grandmother. Every year we get together on Christmas Eve and everyone brings gifts,a ton of food, we laugh, joke and we have a magnificent time. Since my grandmothers passing, we have continued our tradition just as if she was there with us. I know she is watching and is pleased that we kept her tradition going. The holidays are the best time of the year!
My favourite part of the holiday season definitely is the pleasant anticipation and the love that can be felt from mid-november till christmas!! Love it!! Have a great day!
I usually spend Christmas with the family, all together, and love to prepare the decoration and food with my girls. they really enjoy these days!!!!
On Christmas Eve everyone opens new Christmas PJ’s, the kids make and set out cookies for Santa, and most importantly, we add Baby Jesus to the Nativity. Our family loves all of the traditions that go along with Christmas, but Jesus is the reason for the season and will always be the center of all of our celebrations!
We go caroling at family and friends’ houses then we all get brand new PJ’s – even the adults!
christmas eve is spent with family. cooking, playing board games, sitting around talking while the kids play and open presents…and eating…lots and lots of eating! :)
I enjoy spending the time with my grandchildren, watching them become so excited about the presents. Helping them wrap the presents for their parents and reminding them it is a a secret and can’t tell. Making some of the dishes for dinner with my grandchildren. They all four love to help in the kitchen… Thank you and Merry Christmas
Christmas Eve is spent at my fiance’s parents house. We spend time with the family that night having fondu and opening presents. Then, in the morning, we go to my parents house. It’s a great time!
My parents (and occasionally my Uncle that lives across the country from us) come for Christmas. On Christmas Eve we do our big Christmas dinner…in our case, Fondue. That way on Christmas day we can all be slugs and lay around and play with our toys and just have sandwiches for dinner.
Christmas Eve is spent with family and friends over a wonderfuly cooked meal and treats and remembering our Christmas’ past. Then its off to church and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. What a great time of the year!!
I usually spend Christmas Eve baking cookies and enjoying time with my family!
Christmas Eve is spent with my boyfriends family. We have a nice dinner, then settle in to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!
On Christmas Eve I work during the day. After I pick the kids up we have a nice dinner and stay in. We would watch some movies that is showing on TV and hopefully the kids will go to be on time. I think this year my daughter wants to leave cookies and milk for Santa.
We celebrate Christmas Eve with my husband’s family. It’s a big party with food, drinks and present opening at midnight! When the clock strikes 12am, we all exclaim “merry christmas!” And them hug and kiss and presents are then passed out and opened. It’s such fun especially for the kids!
My favorite part of the season is the baking!

On Christmas eve we normally go to my husbands aunts house and have a dinner followed by a big White Elephant gift exchange
Christmas Eve is one of my favorite days. In the morning, we have an annual pitch-in breakfast with all of our neighbors, at our house. The rest of the day is spent laying around relaxing. Church in the evening and then usually a holiday famliy movie before bed.
Christmas Eve is the anniversary of my husband’s marriage proposal to me. It is stuffed full of family tradition including family dinner, candlelit church service, and lots of snuggling around the Christmas tree. Can’t wait for a California book signing!
I try to always spend Christmas Eve with a nice and quiet family night. Now that we have children, we have started a tradition of watching a Christmas movie and enjoying some hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies, etc. It’s nice to snuggle with the family and relax.
My way of spending the holidays is always making it a special day like its the last. We are here now but might be gone tomorrow. Tell everyone you love and cherish them. I think this is thee best gift.
All Xmas is my favorite part.. Decorating the tree, preparing cookies and cakes to giva as a gift, the food and spending time with my brother who lives in New York. Seeing the face of kids when they open their gifts and the big kids that we become too….
I love Christmas Eve! We don’t live by family so it’s just me, my husband and three kids. I kinda like it that way. We usually have a nice dinner, act out the nativity while reading it in the scriptures, kids all open 1 present (which is always pajamas) and then Daddy reads the kids “The Night Before Christmas”. I LOVE the holiday season!!! PS My girls would LOVE the cake pop maker. :)

Something we do every year is go around town looking at Christmas lights and singing carols in the car! My favorite!

Then they get tucked in and my husband and I start putting stuff under the tree or assembling anything :)

My fav part is celebrating Jesus’ birth!!
We spend Christmas Eve visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Ron at their place, while opening stockings stuffed by Grandma, and gifts brought by the parents. My favourite part of Christmas is the baking! You can’t have too many frosted sugar cookies!
Christmas Eve usually involves something sparkling, something sweet, candles and music. A bit of quiet before Christmas Day which is usually filled with traveling, parties and constant chatter.
Now that my kids are grown and I’m not up the night before wrapping presents until minutes before they rise – Christmas Eve is a much more relaxing time. A glass of wine, a steak with the husband and maybe a movie. I’m not sure which version I prefer – but I do appreciate the sleep. LOL
On Christmas Eve, we go to mass. My favorite part of the season is just the general holiday cheer all around.
Christmas Eve is when the whole Family gets together @ Grandmas house. We eat til we’re full, talk about old stories and wait til Midnight to pass out & open gifts. My favorite part of Christmas has to be the cooking & baking part, love making things the family will enjoy! :)
My favorite part of the holiday season is all the songs, the lights, the smells, the whole ambiance. I just love everything about Christmas!
We spend Christmas Eve at my house with my parents and my brother. They all come over around 11 a.m., we have a light lunch and then my kids open the tons of presents grandma and papa bring. We always watch A Christmas Story in front of the fire during the afternoon and then we cook a large italian meal for dinner. It’s a very fun day!
My favorite part of the holiday season is all the lights, the baking, spending time with our friends and family, and the way the kids get excited and their faces light up :)
My favorite part of the holidays is making gingerbread houses with my grandchildren
Christmas Eve starts off the twenty-four hours of wonderful holiday celebration. Church and a big family dinner. Always a family fun filled party!
The past few years, I have spent Christmas Eve making fudge and other treats :) Then, my hubby and I get together with his parents to celebrate Christmas.
As a kid, my mother used to always make chili on Christmas Eve and we always were able to open one small gift. After pleading and begging of course!
:)
Christmas Eve is the day we Swedes celebrate Christmas. We go to a childrens’ service at church, then have traditional Christmas lunch (pickled herring, smoked ham, green cabbage…) , then we spend the afternoon together, talking and snacking on Christmas candies and then by late afternoon it’s time for the Christmas presents to be opened. It’s a very special day!
My favorite part of the holiday season is the spirit that comes with it! Christmas is my favorite time of year and every year, the day after Halloween, I start to plan my Christmas festivities. Yesterday, I bought 3 boxes of candy canes- it’s already that much of a problem haha
Christmas Eve is spent at church. Then we come home make our snacks and start the movie watching off with It’s A Wonderful Life!
We have a family cooky baking day in the first part of Dec. Usually it includes my mom, daughters and now granddaughter and sometimes an extra friend or two. It’s always a special day.
Christmas Eve…how do I even begin? Well, we always spend it with family, either immediate or extended and we spend all day preparing the food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We watch movies and sit around the tree and remember stories from “Christmases long long ago”. We generally eat a lot of cookies and for dinner we have a large buffet with pretty much everything. Its fun every year and my siblings and I always look forward to our special Christmas season.
Christmas Eve involves holiday movies, chicken and wild rice soup, a new gift of Christmas PJs, and snuggling in front of the fire with my husband and daughter in our new PJs reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas just before tucking her into bed.
We go to church Christmas Eve and then spend the evening enjoying hot chocolate. Yum!

we always spend christmas eve going to church and then getting together for a big dinner party
On Christmas Eve morning I’m baking something holiday related for the party at my aunt’s house we have every year.
Christmas Eve is always spent at my house. All of the children and grandchildren gather here. We have a Christmas Eve meal and everyone gets to open one present.
my family likes to spend christmas eve listening to christmas music as the kids open up a few christmas gifts. it has become a tradition for the kids to get to open up a few gifts on christmas eve. they always get a pair of christmas pajamas to wear that night, a ornament to hang on the christmas tree, and one christmas book that we read together right before bed.
We go to our best friends and she cooks dinner for us and then I help her wrap all her presents for her huge family! Late night, but lots of fun!
Christmas Eve is always spent having the big baked dinner with my parents, sisters, kids and partners. We all have a big sleepover, do the presents and cooked breakfast before moving into Christmas Day.
I usually spend Christmas Eve curled up with a nice hot mulled cider (or buttered rum), with a fire and the Christmas lights glowing, and with Christmas music in the background (like it has been since the day after Thanksgiving). I like to spend time with my Son and the rest of the family, opening our gifts slowly, and thanking the giver for their thoughtfulness. That way we can sleep in on Christmas morning since we don’t have young children in the house (just yet). On Christmas morning, we enjoy a brunch and Mimosas. Ahhhh, the season is about to begin!
We always go to Christmas Eve service first. Then we go out for Chinese food. This started we the kids were young and that was the only restaurant open. We love being all together!!!
Christmas eve is spent with family. It’s a great time for desserts, listening to Christmas music, maybe watching a Christmas special….just being with family.
Thank you for the great new Christmas book!!
In the evening of Christmas eve we go around looking at Christmas lights on other houses, then we come home and open brother-sister presents (there are 8 of us kids, so we draw who we get a Christmas present for). My dad’s birthday is on Christmas eve, and he never really liked that we opened presents on his birthday ;)
I love to have all the family sitting together for dinner on Christmas Eve and looking at the faces of the little ones when they are opening presents.
Christmas Eve is spent with just my husband and kids. He reads the Christmas Story from the Bible. Baking, cooking, and opening gifts is part of the fun! Christmas Day will be spent with the rest of our families.
We spend our Christmas Eve decorating the tree. Longtime family tradition!
I love decorating cookies for Santa with my daughter on Christmas eve.
We spend every Christmas Eve at my aunt’s home, eating, singing, laughing, and enjoying a Christmas celebration. And–a REAL Santa shows up with true jingle bells. We don’t know who he is but he has shown up every year with candy canes for everyone and allows us to take pictures with him and he reminds the children to go to bed early. It was a wonderful surprise the first year they lived there and we thought it was a joke or a fluke but he has returned every year! Jolly Ole St. Nick!
My favorite part of the holidays is drinking egg nog or cider and decorating the house while watching Elf!
we spend christmas eve going to mass – dinner at the in laws and then wait listening for santas bells to ring
We usually have a big meal on Christmas Day so Christmas Eve is spent baking and cooking and getting ready for the company!

We spend Christmas Eve at church and then dinner with family.
We spend christmas eve visiting friends and ending with new pj’s and a small gift each for the kids. Thanks for the giveaway!
on christmas eve we all gather at my grandma’s house and eat like king all night :D
I like a quiet Christmas Eve with my family.
My favorite part of Christmas is all the baking and family time. On Christmas Eve, all of my large extended family get together. It is so much fun because we get to spend alot of time together catching up and just laughing. I can’t imagine spending it any other way. I just love it. Also leading up to Christmas Eve, I love to bake alot with my Mom. We make all kinds of things like Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Cheese Straws, Sausage Balls, Candied Pecans, Brownies and all types of goodies.
Christmas Eve with our family is spent at my mother in law’s opening gifts, sharing stories, singing and enjoying great food together. We then come home, read the Christmas story of Christ’s birth and around midnight open our gifts to each other. This Christmas will be really special because I will be sharing it with my first grandchild. He is due to be born December 16th and that is going to be the best present.
We spend Christmas Eve snacking and watching Christmas movies
On Christmas Eve we always go to the service at my church…it’s wonderful! After that, we watch the old Scrooge musical.
Congrats!! When we are home we go to the Christmas Eve service at our church.
For as long as they were alive, Christmas Eve was spent with my grandparents. The whole family gathered there for dinner, then made the trek into town for the candlelight church service. After church we headed back to their house to open gifts. Now that they are gone, we gather at my parents house. Our church no longer holds a candlelight service on Christmas Eve, so we’ve had to modify our traditions a little. We serve a buffet of appetizers and sweets to snack on all evening, and we talk, laugh, play games, and of course open gifts. It’s a great time to reconnect with family that we don’t see very often.
My two favorite parts of the holidays…baking treats for our friends and neighbors, and waking up super early with my sons on Christmas morning (like 2 am) and waiting for daddy to wake up so we can open gifts :)
I can’t wait to try these for the upcoming holidays; everything is so cute!!!
Posting from my phone because of Sandy and I know she will be on NJ’s naughty list this year! Our favorite family tradition is playing Christmas music and helping the kids decorate the tree. Seeing which ornaments make it to the tree first and trying to stop myself from fixing all of them is lots of fun!
My favorite part is all the giving. I enjoy gift giving but also all the giving and charity that comes out during the Holiday season.
My favorite part of the holiday season is boxing day – my mum has all of my cousins and aunts and uncles over and we all eat leftover turkey and share our christmas stories.
Now that I have a child my favorite part of Christmas Eve is putting the cookies out for Santa and then working with my hubby to get presents under the tree and the stockings filled.
We always spend Christmas Eve at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. We always have a delicious Italian feat (no meat allowed) and then after dinner we play bingo with my grandma and wait for our second cousins to come over. Once everyone gets there, we play a super intense game of white elephant which lasts for hours and is absolutely histerical! It is perfect!
I don’t celebrate Christmas but what I love most about the holiday season is that it’s bake season! (well, not like any other month can’t be bake season) But the holidays are always a fun excuse to just bake bake and bake and share the goodies with friends and family.
Baking and decorating Christmas cookies is my favorite part of the holidays!!
On Christmas Eve we always go to a Christmas Eve Service followed by time with the family, where we listen to Christmas songs and enjoy some holiday treats.
We go to church and then come home and eat lasagna. After that we all open a set of gifts that have pj’s and a book.
We spend Christmas Eve at my father in laws cabin. Usually sweating off our holiday pounds because he lives to keep a raging fire going at all times! :) we have the best time laughing, eating, and sweating together. ;)
I don’t celebrate Christmas or any holidays so my hubby and I just enjoy the days off from work and we get to spend more time together. Normally Disney World is calling our names for a few days around that time. :) I just love the cold and cozy bundled up feeling around the end of the year.
Because we make 2 big meals for Christmas day the family and friends usually come over to my house on Christmas Eve, we drink egg nog and rum around the fire and order Thai food from the best place in town.
It can change year to year depending if we travel somewhere but we are always together as a family.
The best part about the holidays is being with family! I love my family to bits and now that we’re all older, it’s so hard to get all together. I can always count on the end of the year to get to spend lots of time with everyone.
We always have immediate family and some neighbors over for a little pre-Christmas party, serve up lots of little nibbles and wassail. At some point, the kids go out and leave “reindeer” food on the front lawn. Then after we put the kids to bed, we watch “A Christmas Story” and wrap and assemble presents while eating party leftovers.
We spend Christmas Eve with my inlays! Lots of food, family, and fun!
I spent my Christmas Eve with my whole family, it’s the big ordeal between the holidays. This season, I’m most looking forward to coming home for Christmas!
My husband and I always have a quiet evening by the fire. We listen to Alan Maitland read Frederick Forsythe’s “The Shepherd”. My hubby is a pilot and it’s his very favourite Christmas story.
We spend Christmas Eve going to a candlelight service at church and then coming home and eating lots of cookies. Once the kids are put in bed we finish up wrapping presents before Santa comes. :)
Christmas eve is very special to us, I spend the day cooking and baking for the family to get together at my house and have a wonderful dinner. The kids help me out with the sweets(they do need to set up Santa with his cookies to stay on his NICE list). When dinner is done we sit around and sing holiday favorites like Jingle bell rock and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Then before midnight we send the kids to sleep and Santa’s little elves(us) get to work.
We always have an appetizer type feast then get the kids in pajamas, load them in the car (w/hot chocolate) and drive around looking at Christmas lights until they fall asleep.
My favorite part is the food of course! Namely sweets! :)
Christmas Eve has always been “Christmas” for my family. We’d have a big dinner of lasagna (who knows where that tradition came from) then one of my brothers or my dad would insist on having his dessert before opening presents, which would drive me and my sister crazy with anticipation. Even tho most of us kids have our own families in 3 different states, we still try to make it our parents’ for Christmas Eve. It is my favorite part of the entire year, especially when all 23 of us can be there together.
We spend Christmas Eve hosting extended family at our house, eating lots of yummy food, and getting ready for Santa to visit!
My husband and I go to 5 pm mass and then have homemade fondue for dinner on Christmas Eve. We may change that a bit this year, since it will be our first with our new baby girl!
My Christmas Eve is always spent watching Christmas movies with the family, drinking hot chocolate and decorating sugar cookies for Santa.
Since we live 20 hours away from our family, just getting to go home for 2 weeks at Christmas and spend time with our families is the best part of Christmas this year.
We always go to the Children’s Christmas Eve service at church where the kids do a nativity play and there is lots of singing. I love seeing all the kids in their costumes celebrating the season.
We always have an appetizer dinner for Christmas Eve, followed by a family viewing of The Polar Express. My kids are always so amused by my dancing out of the kitchen with hot cocoa at exactly the same moment the waiters on the train do!
I love everything about Christmas! Christmas Eve dinner in our family is chili and sandwiches…a tradition started by my Grandma.
Normally spend Christmas Eve with extended family, but we recently moved across the country, so we will be making our own traditions…possibly making cake pops! We will remember the true meaning of Christmas.
We’ve always spent Christmas Eve at my parents’ house where we have our traditional (for us, anyway) taco dinner and then open presents while watching the Nutcracker.
CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!! Christmas music is definitly my favorite part of the holiday season. And yes, I’ve already been playing some holiday tunes for my 3 year old twins to get them in the holiday spirit!
Xmas eve we always spend at my grandparents house with all of the family!
Family, food, church, contentment
Christmas Eve is just spent at my grandma’s fun and all but really crowded. So not a lot to say about it. But the best part of the season is baking and candy making with my kids. I also spend a day baking at my Mother in laws house. I love the family time
Dinner with my family I love spending time relaxing with a cup of hot chocolate!
My favorite part of the holiday is spending Christmas Eve with my grandaughter and her parents. The excitement mounts until finally Christmas is there and she enjoys every moment….so do I!
Awesome!
Our Christmas Eve tradition (forever) has been “Christmas Eve Pizza”. Being a Mom to 5 ~ never having a whole lot of money to be able to afford “takeout”, it was always the one thing we could do. We would work on snacks for Santa and his reindeer while we had our pizza. Now that they are all grown and on their own, they still come home for “Christmas Eve Pizza” now with their own families in tow! What fun it has been to sit, talk, and share all of the wonderful Christmas Eve stories with our now expanded family! Its even more fun to be able to work on Santa snacks with my grandkids!!
Thank You for the opportunity to get a copy of your book and that COOL kit! I can definitely put it to GREAT use! You are such an inspiration!
For many many years we got together with my mothers side of the family and had appetizers and played a games with gifts. Lot’s of family there. Now my mom, aunt and grandmother have passed away, an aunt and uncle have moved out of state. This year we will spend it at home with just my husband and kids, we will start a new tradition. We have a new granddaughter on the way so times are changing…
I always spend Christmas Eve with my family. We go to church as a family and all open one present before going to bed.
We always spend Christmas Eve as a family having fun and playing games. My two girls (5 and 7) are allowed to open one or two gifts, which builds the excitement for Christmas morning! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I spend Christmas Eve with my family, its a tradition, and also this is may favorite part too
:)
The best part of the holiday season is the music, Christmas spirit, quality family time, a lot of baking! and peppermint hot chocolate… And watching favorite Christmas movies for the 1000th time :)
As a child, we drove around looking at Christmas lights and then came home to open ONE gift… I tried to carry that on with my own children too.
My favorite part of the holidays is baking & creating with my grandchildren. They would love your toy. I’ve already seen it and have it on my wish list!
Our family is extremely small. Since my Mom passed away, there are only three of us left, so Christmas Eve is spent honoring the traditions that were in place when my Mom, Grandma, aunts and uncles were alive. We spend Christmas Eve together finishing up holiday baking for Christmas dinner, hanging the “special” ornaments on the tree, going through photo albums and remembering Christmases past, and opening just one present each at midnight. Oh, and watching Elf…..that’s a new tradition! :)
On Christmas Eve we go to church and then decorate cookies for Santa.
We all gather to decorate the tree, eat christmas cookies and waite for Santa to arrive.
We spend christmas eve with long time friends and family. We then go to chrismas eve services at church. After that, it is a final mad wrapping fest to get all the presents under the tree.
We go to the Christmas Eve sercie at Church and then My parents have hosted Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember. The whole family gets together for their homemade pizza and my mom added a new tradition a few years ago. She gives everyone a stack of paper money and we have an auction of really great prizes. We gather a stack of them to auction off and each person who comes to the party also brings a prize to contribute. It is really a lot of fun.
My favorite part of the holiday is to go for a walk in the neighborhood and watch all of the chrismas lights, then come home and have some cookies and a hot chocolate!
I love everything about it! The light dusting of snow, the lit and decorated tree, and the smells of all of the food!
Christmas Eve’s are chili and family time. And, can open one present. Always fun times.
Yea….please sign mine if I win! :) My family and I spend Christmas Eve going to church and to the in-laws. Sometimes we do last minute Christmas lighting (driving around looking at lights). We have to be home early enough for kids to be wiped out before Santa arrives. :) We always make special glitter reindeer food for the reindeer and put out cookies for Santa. We break out the new PJs and watch It’s a Wonderful Life for the 1000000th time. :) Every year grows more dear because my kids are growing up so quickly! :)
We spend Christmas Eve having dinner with my in-laws and then we drive to my parents house for the night so I can wake up in my childhood home!
Unfortunately, my job usually requires me to be working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day :( But my favorite part of the season is the holiday spirit in the air; the feeling of love and joy and happiness! Or… Maybe it’s the music :)
My favorite part of the holiday season is spending it with my children baking and decorating holiday cookies and cake pops. I love the joy in their faces when they try to be creative. I even got the christmas decorations up last night to decorate early to be in the spirit of things longer this season.
Our Christmas Eve tradition consists of having all of our friends over for brunch in the morning and then eating homemade pierogies and roast beef for dinner before heading to church.
My favorite part of the season is baking and decorating cookies with my kids!
My daughter was born Christmas Eve, so generally we spend some time celebrating HER in the morning, then off to the in-laws for christmas eve celebrations, leaving early enough to hit midnight mass, and then drive through our neighborhood with the lights out to see the beautiful luminaries lit along the streets (75 houses in our neighborhood participate in luminary lighting, and its beautiful).
