It’s time to pick winners from all the comments? These were some of the best, feel good responses and oh my goodness can I come over on Christmas Eve? So many wonderful memories are going to be happening this year too. Hope you all have happy holidays!
And now for the winners…
For the past few years, we’be spent Christmas Eve at a nice restaurant (same one every year). Then, we drive through the Lights on the Bay. Then, we come home and the boys open one present…a new pair of Christmas PJs. We love our tradition.
I usually spend Christmas eve baking pies and drinking wine with my best friend and then I go to my mom’s place to share the cookies that my now 7 year old sister leaves out for Santa.
Our family tradition on Christmas Eve is to first attend the family Christmas Eve service at church, which ends with a candlelit ceremony. Then we go home and I always make an angel food cake on Christmas Eve, so after the kids get in their pjs, we put a candle in the cake and sing “Happy Birthday to Jesus”. Everyone then has angel food cake, fresh cut strawberries, and chocolate syrup for dessert. After this my dad reads all the grandkids “The Night Before Christmas” from HIS childhood book (which has been retaped several times!). Then it’s off to bed for the cousins and a mad dash for the moms to finish stuffing stockings and wrapping gifts. =)
We usually go to an early evening service at church. Often follow with a meal of beef stroganoff.
The entire extended family gets together. We all bring a dish, sing carols, and Santa makes an appearance to visit with the kids and tells them that he will return when they are asleep. Having Santa visit has happened every year for over 55 years!
My family celebrates Christmas Eve at my aunt and uncle’s house and we exchange presents for all the kids! We enjoy a lot of homemade Italian food, wine, and desserts! Love it!
We are Italian so for Christmas Eve, we go to my grandmother’s house and she cooks the 7 fishes. There are about 15 of us and she cooks every year since I was a little girl like its a breeze! Now I get to enjoy going with my little girls and hope that they continue on the tradition when they get older!
Watching movies together as a family! We start with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (a family favorite) and then move to the 24-hour showing of A Christmas Story. Just a fun way to spend some time together and laugh.
My family always has a big party on Christmas Eve. I love it! Thank you for this generous giveaway :)
Hubby and I used to spend Christmas Eve bouncing between the families but last year we decided it would be just for us and I think we will stick with that tradition this year. :)
Christmas Eve is spent at my parents for dinner and then to Christmas Eve services at church.
Christmas Eve is spent with family for a dinner that includes enough food to feed an army and just as many sweet treats. We all indulge a little, but it’s the time of year where it’s ok, right? Leftovers taste that much better the next day (or two).
Saw the cake pops toy at Wal-Mart too and excitedly yelped, “oh my goodness, Bakerella has a toy? Awesome.” My husband looked at me a bit confused by the whole thing and I replied to his look with, “what? I follow her blog. That’s pretty freakin cool!” lol If our daughters were old enough to be able ‘play’ with it, there would def be one under the tree this year.
Christmas Eve is spent with my husbands family. One of his aunts as a huge party that’s full of food and games. Right after that party we head to his other aunts to open presents. This is the one party the kids really enjoy! Our night starts out at about 5pm and goes until after midnight!
The whole season is wonderful – decorating the “perfect” tree, driving around to look at christmas lights, baking for family and friends, the music, everything is my favorite part!
My absolute favorite part of Christmas Eve is knowing I’ll be spending it with friends and family feeling very blessed.
Christmas Eve is a movie night for us. We all get new pajamas and watch a movie together.
I love the jingle bells!! Too cute!!! We typically spend Christmas Eve at a candlelight service at church and then we enjoy a nice dinner followed by a fondu dessert!
We attend a Christmas Even Worship then gather at the house to open presents from Aunts and Uncles since they will not be there in the morning…It’s almost anti-climatic on Christmas morning but also allows the parental units (us!) to sleep in~! ; )
How do you usually spend Christmas Eve?
Before my dad passed away we celebrated it with him and my mom, the way we used to in Peru, they would make a feast and we’d eat until we rolled out of their house. Now it’s just getting ready to host Christmas day.
My favorite part is visiting my family back home! :)
Christmas Eve is spent at my husband’s cousins house with the rest of his family. All the cousins get together to do a white elephant exchange. Afterwards we go home and my husband and I let our kids pick out one present from under the tree to open before bed!
The kidsusually get to open one gift on Christmas Eve after we all go to the early service at church
Music playing and wonderul smells from the oven as I wait for my children and their families to arrive to spend the night. At some point in the evening, the elves drop off Santa’s bag with pajamas for all. We read the Christmas story and then put the little ones to bed and the older ones finish their wrapping and go to midnight mass. Afterwards we help Santa put the gifts around the tree and then head for hopefully an hour or two of sleep before the children wake. Our stockings are something we all look forward to.
We always decorate a gingerbread house. We might have to make cake pops instead this year:)!
Christmas Eve is spent at my in-laws out in NW Kansas. After Christmas Eve mass we gather with extended family for snacks and desserts.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love decorating the house, doing crafts and baking goodies for the family and friends. Now that I have 3 grandchildren; it’s even more fun.
We have Christmas Eve dinner with our extended family. Then we act out the Nativity from the Bible with all the kids and adults while grandpa reads the passage. Then the kids can open ONE gift before we head home to put the kids to bed.
Christmas Eve is always spent going to church and then watching A Christmas Story.
Our Christmas Eve tradition is going to Mass and letting the kiddos open up one gift before bed, which is usually pj’s or a new Christmas book.
We usually drive back home to spend the holiday with the family.
Christmas Eve is celebrating with family…remembering those that are here with us in spirit and just being with those we love and cherish. There is nothing better than watching the anticipation of children as they anxiously awaiting Christmas morning to finally arrive ~ it never gets old!
My favorite part of the holidays is by far baking. Every year I make the same cookies & treats that I grew up on but then I make one or two new ones to try out to see if they make it into the mix with the rest :)
My favorite part of Christmas Eve is singing Christmas carols by candlelight during the Christmas Eve worship at church. After we travel to my in-laws where we also celebrate my father in law’s birthday.
Christmas Eve we have a big dinner, act out the Nativity scene, open one present and try to fall asleep early! :)
Going to see my only child in Colorado for Thanksgiving and will be making cakepops with her….Cant wait ! She will then come her for Xmas and we will do the same. It has become a tradition….
I go home to West Virginia and spend the holiday with my parents. :Love them! Thank you for give away
When my children where little, we would spend the day baking, then go to our church Christmas play, then off to my family gathering and bring all our goodies and gifts. This year now that my family is grown and on there own, I will be baking for a local restraunt for there Christmas ever party, and have included cake pops to my pastry menue, Thanks for all the wonderful Ideas, You make my pastry tray very festive.
We spend Christmas Eve with family, stuffing ourselves with food and desserts! My favourite part of Christmas is seeing my children’s faces on Christmas morning!! Priceless!
We spend Christmas Eve at my sister’s house. She makes homemade spaghetti and meatballs for lunch, and we open presents. Later, we enjoy the Christmas lights and go to church. =)
On Christmas Eve we bake cookies for santa and pies for Christmas Dinner the next day, then my son gets to open a present or two and we read The Night Before Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. And my favorite things about the holiday season are putting up the Christmas tree, watching Christmas movies, going to look at Christmas lights, baking, spending time with family and my sons face on Christmas morning. :)
We spend Christmas Eve celebrating with our family and remembering what the holiday is all about.
Since I have a big family gathering Christmas Day, our Christmas Eve is quiet and reflective. A dinner of duckling and cranberry wild rice, Christmas Eve mass and watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” before the craziness! I love it.
We spend Christmas Eve with family here in Miami!! What I love about this time of year is baking for the holidays!!
Happy Holidays!!
My favorite part is spending time with family without any hurry and all the cuddles from my kids! I’m truly blessed!
I usually spend Christmas eve at the in laws, and then come home to open presents and hang out with my husband. My favorite thing about the holidays is all the time we get to spend with family.
Christmas eve my family we get together and go to church come home and have finger food for dinner. We spend the evening together and open our gifts. I enjoy baking, driving around seeing all the lights. I love the toy!!
We usually spend Christmas Eve with some really close friends and then Christmas Day with family. I love all of your cake pops, you have amazing talent!
My favorite part of the holidays is watching my little brother’s faces as they open their presents. Priceless!
I love spending time with friends and family friends I haven’t gotten to see all year. Ever since we all grew up and moved away, the holiday season is really the only time a lot of people are back in our hometown and can meet unjust like old times. since we don’t have a lot of family in the US, the holidays are all about spending time with friends and huge get togethers with lots of good food and just hanging out.
Every Christmas eve we let the kids pick what they want to eat and snack on. I make whatever it is and we all relax at home, sometimes it’s last minute wrapping, other times it’s just watching movies.
We spend Christmas Eve going to mass and then to my parents house for homemade beef vegetable soup!
Christmas Eve is always spent with my Dad’s side of the family; with good food, fun gifts, and great company! It’s hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. Time flies when you are having fun!!!
Christmas Eve is when my family loves to get together, stay up all night, play board games and have a “merry” time together..! :) My favorite time of the year!
We go to church, dinner at a Chinese place and then home for the girls to open one present! It is always new jammies!!
On Christmas Eve I usually spend time with my family, making cookies for Santa, a movie and hubby and I get to watch the boys open 1 small gift before going to bed.
We have Pizza on Christmas Eve with the family.
We spend Christmas Eve at our church service and come home. I usually convince my hubby to let us open one gift.
My husband and I have a 7 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter. Christmas Eve is home in front of our fireplace (with roaring fire of course!). We read both the Christmas story from the Bible and “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. Drink hot chocolate, eat homemade Christmas cookies, leaving some for Santa and his reindeer. Then the kids go sprinkle the reindeer food out on the front lawn, they to to bed, and my husband and I watch a movie while finishing up presents. Very traditional and I love every minute of it!
We go to church and then to a dear friends house for a friends and family get together. We always have a wonderful time.
my family usually spends Christmas Eve eating a lovely meal before going to our church’s candlelight service.
My husbands family is from Denmark so we have kind of mixed American and Danish traditions. We have a huge feast on Christmas Eve, open presents from family members, dance/walk around the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols, do the last day of the 12 days of Christmas door bell ditching (where for the 12 days before Christmas you secretly deliver things to a family in need) and then read Luke 2 with the children before putting them to bed. And last we turn out all the lights (except the tree) and listen to Christmas music. I love Christmas!
To be honest, I don’t celebrate Christmas (So if I happen to win, pick someone else). I just wanted to say I’m a big fan! I’m actually going to drive to the Cake Art Party Store (and I don’t live in Georgia) on election day to check out all the nifty gadgets I can’t seem to find anywhere else! I’m so excited!!
My favorite part of Hanukkah is watching my children enjoy playing with their cousins. They rarely get to see each other, and really they come from two separate worlds, so it is truly beautiful to watch them all playing together despite the 6-year (oldest to youngest) age gap.
As typical or cliche as it sounds, my favorite part of the season is just getting a breather from work to enjoy time relaxing and eating and laughing with my family and friends!
I am spending christmas eve with my wife celebrating our second christmas as a married couple. I know she loves baking so I hope she will make cookies for both of is. I will make the hot chocolate. This is our favorite time of the year
My favorite part of the holidays is the baking of course, it’s been a tradition for years in my family to make the classic sugar cookie cut outs and decorate of course with lots of goodies. I did it with my Grandma then my Mom now I do it with my Family.
My favorite part of the Christmas season is the baking! I have been known to start making my “list” of possible cookies in August (most of my baking was Pre-cakepops era), start mixing up batter and freezing it in October, then baking10 to 12 dozen each of 12 – 15 different kinds of cookies, all sizes, shapes & colors; divide them up on plates, and give out (let the kids give them) to all the family, friends, neighbors and co-workers! The gift giving is the best!
I love just going out and seeing all the streets decorated and the stores too. It’s just like a very special time of the year.
My family goes out to eat at a local Italian restaurant that always has amazing holiday specials. My favorite part is all the decorations, especially all the ornaments on the Christmas tree.
Christmas Eve is spent going to Mass and then having friends and family over to enjoy each other’s company and eat some great food and goodies.
I love wrapping presents!
My favorite thing about the holidays is that special smell of cooking, it reminds me of my Mom who is no longer with us. She would cook for days before Christmas, making all kinds of yummy food, desserts, candy. She put all her love into whatever she made. Going to friends’ houses during the holidays and smelling all the different goodies, reminds me my mom is with me!
my favorite part of the holidays is seeing and hearing people being nicer. it’s too bad we can’t always have that kind of feelings among one another!
I think my favorite part of the Holidays is simply spending time with my family. I love that time, cuddled up in blankets, talking about nothing in particular, sipping on various drinks, its great!
Sounds a bit strange to be admitting this, but my favorite part of the holidays is getting ready for it! The decorating, making gifts, the decorating, making more decorations, and the decorating ;)
Most Filipino families gather together on Christmas Eve. That is my favorite part.
After attending midnight mass (starts at 10pm on the 24th), the whole family will have “noche buena” (some call it “media noche”, normally a midnight feast) at home with lots of dishes then the kids get to open their gifts at exactly 12 midnight.
Everybody’s wide awake on Christmas eve and we don’t have chimneys for Santa Claus. The gifts given by Santa normally appear under Christmas trees when the kids aren’t looking or if they’re away during the mass. :)
i grew up in Philippines but now lives in the US…Christmas in our country is very well celecrated and it even starts on September. My favorite part of the holiday is the mass for 9 days until xmas eve…it is always held every 4am in the morning in our church.it is like a novena and when you finish it you can make a wish:-)
This Christmas Eve will most likely be spent having an early Christmas dinner with family who isn’t able to stay around for long. And wrapping those last minute gifts!
In my family we gather on Christmas Eve. We are Puerto Rican so we break out all the traditional holiday food!! There are pasteles, pernil (pork shoulder), arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), and of course our yummy holiday drink Coquito!! Anyway the kids are playing and so are the adults (dominoes) and we all stay up to midnight and open presents!! My favorite part is ALL of it!! :-) Time with family and friends and good food. Not to mention its always fun seeing the younger kids trying so hard to make it to midnight!! ;-)
ahh these are so cute! i love your blog and have been following you for quite some time now :D
even though i don’t celebrate christmas, my favorite part of the holiday season has to be the magic. everyone’s feeling the spirit in the air and it’s just contagious to be thankful and happy and good and kind and to sing and dance. it’s like we put all our worries on hold and just embrace life and the people in it. happy holidays, everyone! :) :)
My favorite time was always CHRISTmas carroling on horseback. I really miss that. Now it would have to be making cookies
I will bake cookies to give as gifts with my hubby!!
Our newer, grown-up tradition with our adult children includes take-out sushi from the best local Asian restaurant and game night, ending with midnight Mass. It’s not the same as the precious childhood days of Christmas pageants and visits to grandma’s and late-night preparations for the Big Day – but our new traditions are becoming just as precious.
We spend Christmas Eve watching Christmas movies and hanging ot with family. We get our Christmas pajamas to wear to bed and then set out the cookies and milk for santa!! :D
I always spend Christmas Eve with my mom’s side of the family. We go to church and then to my Grandmother’s house to open presents from each other. Then we go home and wait for Santa!
I usually spend Christmas Eve with my mom, her boyfriend, his son, my grandparents (both 90 years old) and my boyfriend and his mother.
We cook all together, talk a lot and enjoy the evening. We use to have dinner at our home, because we have a big kitchen and everybody can help or at least be with us.
We put some cookies and cake on the table, drink some christmas tea.
Christmas Eve was always about writing our letters to Santa and putting out cookies and milk for him.
My favorite part of the holidays is the food. Eating and making it :)
On Christmas Eve my older sister, brother, and I get all excited about “Santa” coming and giving us gifts! We also make cookies and open one present before we get (still) NO rest at all!
One of my favorite parts of the holidays is the Christmas baking. My best friends and I get together and bake like crazy making holiday treats trays for family and friends. We have been doing this for 11 years. It started off very simple and now we actually go all out. Christmas Eve is all about family. We spend the evening watching a Christmas movie ( Polar Express) and have hot chocolate and treats with the Christmas tree lights being the only lights on in the house. Then my sons go to bed very excited that Santa is coming.
up till now dear son (12) has written letters to santa………..i hope he still does this year………
and we put iced tea and a pineapple donut out for santa too
We always take a light-seeing drive around our neighborhood on Christmas Eve, then the kiddos go to bed.
I am lucky enough to be close to family now so we all watch movies with the little ones. Once they’re in bed, the cards come out (!) until operation Santa starts.
This Christmas Eve (and last year, too!) we will be celebrating Christmas with my husband, as he is working a 24 hour shift Christmas Day at the fire dept. We’ll have our traditional Christmas dinner and exchange gifts.
on christmas eve we always go get chinese food and it is my favorite tradition!
My children and their boyfriends/girlfriends come over and we play loud Christmas music, have appetizers and exchange one gift (the rest are for the next day!) Lots of fun and laughter!
I spend Christmas Eve eating cookies with my family!
In Puerto Rico the holidays are celebrated with food. I plan on making cookies for christmas eve. And on christmas day the family gathers around the table with all our traditional food: pasteles, lechon, arroz con gandules y viandas. Happy holidays
Christmas Eve is spent with family —big meal and opening presents.
Christmas Eve for us is baking and decorating cookies for Santa, then going to the Candlelight Christmas Eve service at church, then back home to a big seafood buffet.
I have always spent Christmas eve the same way since I was a child… Baking and watching cheesy christmas movies, only now I bake to spoil my family rather than eat it all!
We always get Chinese for Christmas Eve dinner and watch a Christmas Story. It’s a tradition!! :)
My favorite part of Christmastime is baking and Christmas Eve is spent with my husbands side of the family, then off to church!
My whole family gathers and we have appetizers and a funny gift exchange with fun things we find all year long.
We spend it different every year… but there is always lots of food and drinks. Our family is 2 hours and 4 hours from us…. so if we don’t spend it at home we make the long drive to family.
Thanks Rachel
The holiday season is all about BAKING! My daughter and I love to get in the kitchen, and then share sweet treats with teachers, friends and family.
Christmas Eve is one of the holidays I enjoy de most. Is a day where the whole family gathers, from the oldest to the youngest. We play the Secret Santa Game and is so funny. it’s a big bunch of people, almost 40. But the best part is when we sit around the table for dinner and give thanks to God for all the blessing throughout the year.
My favorite part about the holidays is the decorations and baking.
Favorite part of the holidays? Baking (and eating!) yummy goodies for family and friends :)

Congratulations, Angie! It is so exciting to see your new book and the toy kit. Thanks for the creative inspiration for holidays; no doubt some families will start a new tradition by cake-popping together!
My favorite holiday activity is wrapping the gifts and anticipating the fun of the unwrapping that happens on Christmas morning!
I spend it baking, then eating with family, then possibly more baking, then often singing until 12, then sleeping! (and then waking up and doing more eating)
Christmas Eve is the best night of the year…we all head to my parents house to eat, laugh, drink and the kids open their presents…so many memories.

My favorite part of Christmas eve is spending with my family, we make cookies for Santa, Just having a relaxing fun evening together! Love it!
Midnight mass – so beautiful.
Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas Eve without finishing last minute sewing on gifts and wrapping everything up! I’ve never been able to sleep on that night. Can’t get enough of the food, music, festivities; I think my insomnia is due in part to not wanting to waste a minute of it, even in sleep!
Christmas eve is when my immediate family gets together and opens gifts and have a very relaxed dinner together….
Christmas Eve is usually spent at my moms. We watch Christmas movies and start the cooking for Christmas Day. This year I’m not sure what I’ll be doing since Christmas is in the middle of the week and I don’t have enough time to make the trip home.
We spend Christmas Eve with my Dad opening gifts, and eating way too much!
Christmas in South Africa for me is a time of iced watermelons, languishing at the beach, and trailing sand inside the beach house as everybody clambers into the showers before we sit down for a huge family feast on Christmas Eve.
My favorite part of the holiday is baking and decorating cookies with my 6 year old daughter.
We spend Christmas Eve with close familt and friends at home. There is lots of baking and cooking. We just enjoy each others company and reflect on all the blessings God has given us in the preceding year.
We have a family tradition for Christmas Eve. We typically travel to my husband’s Unlce’s house for Christmas Eve dinner. His Aunt is so great at entertaining. She fixes up all the appetizers and dinner & I bring dessert. New Christmas cake pops would be a perfect addition.
Crossing my fingers
I just love the holiday season with all the baking and cooking and then spending time with family and friends with all the good food.
My Christmas Eve is spent going to a sunset beach church service, then going to my parents house and having a party with family! Then, we come home and wait for Santa to deliver toys for our girls! My favorite part of the holiday season is to watch my girls when they see what Santa brought them!
We always spend Christmas Eve going to our church for their special service. We come home and I normally fix the “big meal” for dinner – baked ham, some sort of potatoes, fresh veggies, and rolls. We read the Christmas Story (from Luke), and Twas the Night Before Christmas. Christmas Eve is the only night we leave the lights on the tree and outside on all night. I LOVE Christmas Eve!
My favorite part of the holiday season is FAMILY. I get to see them all around Christmas:)
My favorite part of the holiday season is baking cookies and making candies to give away to family and friends.
My favorite part of Christmas is how much nicer people are to each other. I wish the Christmas spirit would last all year long!
I celebrate Christmas Eve with my side of the family. We started potluck last year and it was fun. We eat a ton of food, veg/catch up with each other, then play white elephant for the gifts. This part is always the best – then we award best gift and boobie prize nominations. My one cousin has only made it out of the boobie prize nomination once in almost 10 years!!! Lol
My favorite part of this season is getting my husband excited about Christmas. Every year he has enjoyed the new traditions more and more.
Making dinner for my dad and stepmom. Hoping to start some new traditions with our son :-)
Wow! Those jingle bell pops are stunning! My favorite part of the holiday is going to Virginia to see my family. Especially my little nieces who are growing up so fast.
My favorite part of the holidays is Christmas morning. We have a delicious brunch with mimosas.
Hi,
I´d love, love love to win a copy of your book – and a signed one would be a even greater christmas present!!!
The best thing of the christmas season are all the yummy sweets and treats you usually don´t have the rest of the year. And as I live in Austria our presents are brougt by the Christchild on the evening of the 24th! No Santa out here ;-)
Lots of my cake pops are inspired by your great ideas…
…lots of love from Austria
Catrin
Now that we have a little one, on Christmas Eve we watch Christmas vacation and help Santa put out new toys. :)
My family and I go to church on Christmas Eve then we cruise the streets admiring all the holiday light display. Cathy
Christmas Eve has always been special for our family. We start by attending Mass, followed by an open house at my Mom’s house with family and friends that includes food, singing carols, and the nativity read/acted out by the kids. We now live at of state and when we can’t get home, we try to do this on a much smaller scale with our little family :)
“What’s your favorite part of the holiday season?”
My favorite part of the December holidays is how many people seem to remember to be nicer to each other. Strangers hold the door for each other, and wish each other Merry Christmas… they warn them it’s cold outside, and they smile at each other. People take a moment to smile at other people’s kids — and appreciate the fun the kids are having, instead of being annoyed that they’re playing too loud. Old friends remember to catch up with those they haven’t connected with as much as they should over the year. And for a month or so, the world seems to resemble a better version of itself.
My favourite part of the holiday is right after Christmas dinner when I put out the desserts…grab myself some long awaited and deserved treats and a special coffee and sit down with everyone for a chat. The pressure is off. Everyone has a tale to tell of their perspective of the day and we press rewind and enjoy! All my efforts are worth that moment!
My favorite part about the holidays is spending time with my family. My kiddos and I make a gingerbread house every year and its so much fun to see them at work making the biggest sugary mess ever…… Love your new book!!!!
Christmas Eve is usually spent at home with my immediate family, in anticipation. We try to get to bed early… and usually fail. My favorite part is heading up to my aunt and uncle’s for Christmas Day dinner, as they’re a lot of fun to socialize with and we really only get to see them on the holidays.
My favorite part of the holiday season is food. I mean, family. :)
we spend Christmas Eve with my husbnad’s family. Church at 4, followed by a meatless feast, presents and lots of laughs and memories being made!
I’m an organist and always am in church for all the services. I have a casserole and all my goodies made in advance. So at about 1:30 AM Christmas morning when I get home we have a big dinner. I bring my soloists home and we eat until about 3:00 AM. The rule is “it doesn’t matter in what order you eat the meal. So ususally the dessert is first!! The cake pops have been a smash hit, every time. I love the fact that they can be made and frozen, well in advance. Thank you for putting fun into baking again. I love you ideas. Please keep them coming.
Christmas Eve is spent with my mom’s side of the family. My kids always enjoy the night celebrating with their cousins.
One of my favorite things to do during the holiday is on Christmas Eve, after our young daughters go to bed. My husband and I, while watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” wrap all the Santa gifts. It is a special time for just he and I before all the excitement of the next day kicks in. Looking forward to it again this year!
On Christmas Eve my family and I always do the same thing every year. We order in pizza and watch Christmas movies. Our favorites are Home Alone, Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. Then, we make hot chocolate and drive around Annapolis to look at Christmas lights.
We spend Christmas Eve with my mothers side of the family. Exchanging gifts, watching the little ones run around, and enjoying tasty food everyone brings with them.
We have a Xmas eve dinner with family and friends. And we exchange our gifts so everyone can spend Xmas day with their kids and rest of their family.

When we leave church, we pickup REALLY good carryout and bring it home to the dining room table I’ve already set with china & silver & crystal. Just slip our steaks or fish or chicken on the Christmas china and we have a lovely dinner together with no kitchen to clean up. (Oh, and we’re all dressed up which never happens any other time at the dinner table!)
Then everyone gets in their PJs on and we read holiday books together before the kids go to bed.
My favorite part of the holiday season is spending time with my family and seeing the faces on my niece and nephews faces while they enjoy their gifts!
Christmas Eve Day is spent shopping with my sister-in-law. We don’t see each other much so we shop during the day. Not really for anything we need just for good deals and maybe something we see we like that we don’t think anyone else will have gotten and have fun watching the panicked shoppers that are trying to finish up. And then grab a nice lunch together. We’ve done this as long as we’ve known each other- this year will be 23 years!
My favorite part of the holiday is spending time with my girls doing holiday crafts, cooking and shopping. i love to see how excited they get!
We spend Christmas Eve at church then a late dinner. The rest of the night is the frantic set up for Christmas morning. Cookies and milk for Santa
My daughter and her family come over for a special Christmas Eve dinner. I always pull out the Christmas china to make it extra special! We then celebrate the birth of Christ by sharing gifts.
My favorite part of the Christmas season is decorating the tree with my husband. We listen to the Indie Christmas station on pandora, make some hot chocolate and decorate the tree in our pajamas :)
My favourite part of Christmas is sitting quietly by the tree and listening to Christmas music all cuddled up with my kids. All of the work leading up to that moment is so worth it!
We always spend Christmas eve with my in -laws, then on the way home we drive through the “griswold village.” The allotment behind us goes all out with lights and decorations!
I love the frenzied feel and excitement of the holidays. Apart from the stress it is so much fun to prepare for Christmas with my kids!
On Christmas eve, I do the same thing I did as a kid. Go to my aunt’s house and eat! Now i bring my family too!
Growing up, we always spent Christmas Eve with my moms extended family. Now that I am married with kids (and live in a different state) we stay home and go to church. some years I play in a hand bell choir for services
Christmas Eve is spent with my husband and kids, no traveling, no parties, just the 4 of us…homemade pizzas and lots of snuggles!
We spend Christmas Eve with my in-laws. We will leave our house around noon or 1, drive 3 hours across state lines, have finger foods and lots of desserts. One of the adults will read from the Bible and the one or two of the kids will play Santa. We will leave around 9 or 10 pm for the drive home. It makes for a long tiring day but we get to see all of our family this way.
The thing I love most about Christmas is the spirit and the feelings of the holiday. When you go to a store and the music is playing and the cashier smiles and the person in line is humming the song.
I work in a skilled nursing facility and to see the faces of the residents when they hear christmas music and they start the countdown to christmas day.
To take my grandaughter to the stores to pick out a present for mommy and see the look of pride on their faces. That is what I love about Christmas!!
I spend my Xmas Eve with family for dinner then the annual watching Home Alone!!
I hope I win this prize.. PS It was great meeting you yesterday at KOP, it was totally worth the 3 hour drive!!!
Love Clairebear
My favorite part of the holidays is the magic. To see the excitement in my children’s eyes on Christmas morning. Also, baking baking baking…cookies, cakapops, and more!
Christmas eve the entire family gathers at my uncles house for a white elephant gift exchange & i always bring dessert. It would be great to make some new cake pops to bring.
This year we will be celebrating Christmas at our new home. I have invited the family over and we will have a leisurely braai (barbecue), fresh salads and home made dessert. To cool off we can enjoy the pool and watch the kids have fun. My favourite part of the holiday is putting up our Christmas tree with my 4 and 2 year old the 1st of December. Last year I made biscuits for decorations. They were all eaten before Christmas (hiehie). I will have to make some more for this years tree.
I Lo-o-o-ove every part of the festive season. I like to start early. I put up the door wreathe on 1st December and bring out decorations progressively from then on. I get orgainized early – gingerbread houses, biscuits, fruit cake, decorations and trees. Rum balls and cake pops. The house is full of cellophane and ribbon. My house smells of vanilla and chocolate!!! I love seeing the smiling faces on my friends and family when I give them a home baked gift. Everyone loves my creative gifts! And I love the inspirations I get from Bakerella to enable me to be so creative. Thank you.
Christmas Eve is enjoyed by our family decorating Santa’s cookies setting out carrots for the reindeer and searchig the tree for the hidden pickle ornament.
Homemade Pizza and PRESENTS :D
My favorite part of the holiday season will be going back to family after my first year away at college! Plus I’ll finally be able to bake and actually make my own food, NOT IN A MICROWAVE!!! Ohhh I can’t wait for those good times!
Christmas Eve is about a great dinner (usually lasagna) shared with family, Christmas Eve service at church followed by opening gifts. Even though our daughters are now teenagers, they still have to wait for Santa’s gifts on Christmas morning!
I always spend Christmas Eve at my parents house. My mother decided long ago that Christmas Eve was her holiday, so she spends the entire week leading up to it getting the house ready and the preparing all of the food. Then my entire extended family comes over and we spend the night together eating, laughing and celebrating.
On Christmas eve, we all go to church as a family and then stop at a neighbor’s party on the way home. After that, we come home to get the gifts in place for the morning and everyone goes to bed early in anticipation of the morning’s festivities.
Christmas Eve we usually spend at my uncles for the feast of 7 fishes. Then we come home and I wrap the rest of the ptesents!
My favorite part of the holiday season are all of the get togethers with family and friends. Cookie parties, decorating get togethers, parades, craft fairs, etc. So many good times to share with the ones we love!
I usually spend christmas eve like a normal day ’cause my parents work. At dinner sometimes someone eat with us. I don’t really like christmas eve, but the days before christmas are very beautiful! The shops full of people, the atmosphere, is something magic for me! I love christmas time!
I spend every Christmas Eve at my Grandparents’s Home. Basically because this is where I feel the most ‘at home’ more than anywhere, and isn’t it all about Christmas?
Favourite part of holiday season? ADVENT CALENDER OF COURSE!
My favorite part of the holiday season is what we call “cookie day” in my house. We bake, watch Christmas movies and make gifts. All my nieces come over for the day (5) and they each take turns baking with me in the kitchen. At the same time we put “Little Women”, then “Elf” then whatever else puts us in the Christmas mood into the DVD. We also pick a simple gift that they can each make for friends. We’ve been doing this since the middle two were 5 and they are now 22. I can’t imagine the holidays without “cookie day!”
We always spend Christmas Eve opening gifts, then going to church! It is always filled with family, food an fun!
My favorite part of the Christmas season is Christmas Eve late at night, when everything’s done (hopefully!) and our three kids are in bed. My husband and I can relax and enjoy the twinkling lights, wrapped packages, and feelings of peace and anticipation that come before the noise and craziness of Christmas morning!
Christmas Eve is usually spent getting the excited kids to stay in bed and then loading the presents under the tree. We do not put anything under there until after they go to bed so it is a wonderful surprise for them on Christmas morning.
We spend our christmas eve with just the family and getting the kids ready for santa. Getting the cookies & milk out, reading them the night before christmas and getting them settled in for the next day of excitement!
My job at Christmas is to make the trifles so my Christmas eve is spent preparing the trifles for Christmas lunch. My favourite is a mango trifle made with a little Cointreau. It is always a big hit.
My favorite thing about Christmas is all the things we do as a family, from cutting down the tree and decorating it, to Christmas movie marathons, and my favorite baking and decorating cookies. It’s my favorite time of the year, and it’s nice to be able to spend time as a family because we are so busy most of the year.
My favorite part of holiday season is to cook/bake for gettogethers. I typically end up making dessert :)
