My favorite part of Christmas is spending time with family. I think a new favorite now, will be seeing the delight in my daughters eyes unfold throughout the years as she begins to experience the holidays and family.

Christmas Eve is always dinner with my parents, the kids get to open one gift that evening, and get the cookies and coke (needs that caffeine to get through the night is what my kids reasoning is) ready for Santa.
Christmas eve is spent with the fire roaring and a cup of hot chocolate while wrapping christmas presents.
We usually spend Christmas Eve together as a family. I like to put together a Christmas morning breakfast recipe called “Stinky-Feet Casserole” that I received from my nursing instructor that (despite its name) is DE–LISH!!!! My daughter (by nomination by herself) is always in charge of putting Santa’s cookie plate and milk out for him. Later, once our kiddos have FINALLY gone to bed, which is not an easy task, my husband and I usually “toast” the night while we retrieve our secret stash of gifts for our children to be surprised with in the early morning. I will leave the rest of the evening up to your own imagination! ((blushing))
My favorite part of the holiday season is being with family. It seems it is the one time of year everyone makes time for each other.

Christmas Eve is my favorite part of the holiday season. Christmas Eve begins with a candlelight service at church. Afterwards we deliver gifts to underprivileged children at shelters around the city. After that we come home and enjoy hot cocoa and family time. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to celebrate the season showing God’s love to people who really need to feel it and then come home and relax with hot cocoa and family. It’s the real meaning of the season for sure.

i’ll answer both…i used to spend christmas eve playing board games with my immediate family…until everyone started getting married. now my husband and i like to just be together. i’m sure once we have kids that will change.
my favorite part of the holidays is the togetherness of family and the generous and unselfish spirit people adopt during the holiday months!
We spend Christmas Eve at my husband’s parents’ house (my dad also come over there) and we have drinks, appetizers, dinner, do a Yankee Swap, and we open gifts with my husband’s parents and his brothers. My favorite part of Christmas is baking with the kids during the day on Christmas Eve (a tradition that I love), getting it all ready for that night and Christmas Day.
On Christmas Eve we watch a “Christmas Story” and our daughter opens 1 gift – it’s been the same ‘type’ of gift her whole life…a new pair of Xmas PJ’s. Looking forward to when you make your way to Canada, eh?!!

Christmas Eve is usually spent at my house since I got married back in 2002. We cook all day and bake our favorite dishes and at the stroke of midnight we open gifts. My favorite part of the holidays of course is the baking :)
Christmas Eve is always spent with the entire family! Tons of good food, exchanging gifts with loved ones. My favorite part is the midnight mass, that is the real essence of CHRISTmas.
I usually am all about the holidays starting from October to Christmas. I just love they warmth, family and being with loved ones.
I spend time with my son watch old movies and sit by the tree to talk to him about everything that has gone in our lives. Watching him express himself is priceless.
How we spend Christmas Eve : I always have Christmas dinner at my house and every holiday at my house. Christmas eve was spent usually at home just with our immediate family. Some years ago my friend and neighbor asked me what my family and I were doing on Christmas Eve. Well I told her after church we were just going home and continue to prepare for company the next day. She ended up inviting us up to her house to share dessert with her family and two other families who were at home for Christmas Eve. It was nice, and enjoyable sharing a holiday with friends. The following year and to present with the exception of two I have hosted them.
I invite families who are not going to be with their families that night after church. They are asked to bring a dessert. I supply food, drinks and more desserts. Any one that plays a musical instrument is encouraged to bring it. We end up with several guitars, electric keyboard, saxophone and great vocals. The night always ends late with a very sweet ending of delicious desserts, warm, loving people, and a beautiful rendition of Silent Night sung > by two young sisters. We are blessed, truly.

I love to decorate for Christmas, I start before Christmas so we can enjoy the decorations for a long time. Decorating just makes Christmas so magical. On Christmas Eve I get Christmas Cookie Plates ready to hand out to our neighbors and friends.

Christmas Eve is one of my favorite nights of the year! We have clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls for dinner. Then we head to a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church. Then we come home put on our Christmas pajamas, have hot chocolate, and open our stockings!!

My family goes to 8:00pm mass on Christmas Eve, and when my brothers and I were kids, we’d count the houses with Christmas lights on the way home. It drove my parents crazy, but now that we have families of our own, we do it with them too.
On Christmas eve i usually bake cookies with the family and prepare homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.
My family always eats soup for dinner (I guess it’s easy and light before the big feasting of Christmas day) and then we go to Christmas Eve service at church. Back home, we enjoy Christmas cookies before bed – but no presents until Christmas morning!
Christmas Eve in the Philippines is a colorful, festive event with family. My family would first attend the Christmas Eve mass then after we have what we call the “Noche Buena”, a buffet spread of all the family’s most treasured recipes. It is during this feast that the presents are opened and my most favorite part is seeing my children around the Christmas tree smiling and laughing together amidst all the boxes, bows and wrapper.
My favourite part of Christmas is simply having time to slow down and spend time reconnecting with those most important to me. My family and I don’t do presents, nor do we do anything special (no big meals, etc.), so it is really stress-free!

We go to a neighbor’s party and do Chinese Christmas, then we come home, open 1 present each, then the kiddo finally goes to sleep and “Santa” painstakingly arranges and rearranges the presets until they look just right .

My favorite part of the holiday season is Christmas Day…..not for the presents but for everyone sitting in my dining room with that STUFFED look on their face along with that ear to ear smile. That means I did a great job at cooking the wonderful dinner they just ate. Then I bring out my specialty…the apple pie. And, even if they say they couldn’t eat another bite….they loosen their belts for that pie!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

For the last 6 years, I have spent Christmas Eve at work, which was usually fun as it was festive, we always have some chocolates to share and everyone is in a good mood, before grabbing Chinese food on the way home before they close and spending it with my family. Not sure how this year is going to go as I have a new job, probably have to work but maybe I will finish earlier. And my favourite parts are spending time with my family, and listening to Christmas music whenever I drive aywhere!

My favorite part of the Holiday season is the warm fuzzy it brings, for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is a great time to reflect on the things that we have instead of the things we don’t.
I also enjoy the gift of giving and the joy it brings to others. I love the cold weather, the snuggling with my hubby and kids. Not to mention all my favorite food this time of year! I love the decorations and lights (mine are already up, shhh). Most importantly, this is when we celebrate the birth of Christ, without Christ, there is no Christ-mas! Happy Holidays!

Since my husband and I got married, we’ve spent Christmas in various different countries where it’s warm in December. We have always found a great place for dinner and tasty wine. This year we were blessed with our first child. We look forward to starting our own Christmas traditions as a family.

I spend Christmas Eve with my family in the small town where I grew up. We have a lovely meal and then go to mass. In my hometown, they still hang Christmas decorations on each light pole on Main Street. When it gets dark, the street sparkles with red, green, and white lights shaped like Christmas trees, candy canes, and stars. Even though my family is scattered along the east coast, we always make it home for Christmas. This Christmas, as with the last four, I will miss my mother so much, but will be grateful to have my Dad, daughter, brothers, and nieces and nephews.

Our 2 married daughters & their DH & each have 2 sons, come out for snack foods & desserts & open gifts. It is a great time, especially to watch the 4 little boys.
We start off Christmas Eve by going to our Christmas Eve Service at Church and then usually come home and watch a Christmas movie while spending time as a family.

My favorite part of the Holiday season is to give and pay it forward and the blessings of family and friends. Including baking Christmas goodies for local families in need. I’m currently making several quilted Christmas stocking to give to the families affected by hurricane Sandy. I’ve also make Christmas baked goodies and treats for the families that lost their homes in the Colorado fires.

My family spends Christmas Eve at my house. All the kids gather around the computer and use norad santa tracker to see where he goes next. Then the adults host a grab bag exchange where they buy the most ugly stupid things they find in the stores. It is Hilarious. We all gather around the dining table and eat some ham and a nice taco wreath. For dessert we usually serve cake pops, cookies, cheesecake, and coffee. As the Kids then see santa moving away they say lets go home to get to bed to catch santas presents on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve we generally make a fancy dinner, which always includes Ham. (It just wouldn’t be the same without it.) Then we read the Christmas story, and sing Carols and open a few gifts, drink Eggnog, and eat homemade cookies, and candies, and hopefully this year Cake pops!
My favorite part of Christmastime is the week or so leading up to Christmas. There is so much secrecy, and baking, and listening to music, and finishing last-minute projects. (Last year I Crocheted an entire neck warmer behind the love seat for my big sis.) And watching the presents pile up on the mantel, the bulkhead, the bookshelf, and under the tree. It’s almost like tradition to sneak around, not opening, but seeing what gifts are for who. (_Don’t_ ask me why!)
Christmas eve we spend at my mom and dads with the whole family eating a great big meal. Then we open gifts and visit with the whole gang!! My favorite thing is time together. I do love all the food ! yum!
Since I can remember we have always gathered at my grandma’s tiny house for Christmas Eve. It’s always been my grandparents, 3 aunts, 1 uncle, all of their kids and gradnkids, and our immediate family. We stay over there talking, eating food, and opening gifts until 9 or 10 and then come home for the night. Once we’re home we ALWAYS open 1 present a piece, which is almost always new pj’s :) Then we get cookies & milk ready for Santa and head to bead. Even though I’m 20, we’ve continued this tradition with our little man who will be celebrating his 3rd Christmas this year! :D
Waaaaaaah! I planned on going to your book signing here on Long Island last week……but we all know what happened instead :( But we are all safe and sound. So, on Christmas Eve we go out to dinner and them drive around and look at Christmas lights on the houses!

When sitting outside with a cup of hot cocoa, pjs, winter jacket, &a blanket.. Listening to silence, while the snow falls to the ground. Feeling like you could actually here snowflakes hit the ground. The moment where you realize, the ground is pure & untouched :) Winter is my favorite season, just bcuz it seems pure & quiet; especially at night.
There’s no other place I’d rather spend Christmas Eve other than with my family :) We usually have a good spread of appetizers (each person brings something different) and then we each open a gift…but only ONE (even though it’s tempting to keep going and open all of them). When I was a little girl my Mom would always read us “The Night Before Christmas” and watch “The Grinch That Stole Christmas”….I still watch the Grinch though :)
On Christmas Eve my family allows everyone to open one present each, and my mom and sister and I bake cookies. I love being in the house full of family and food with the air smelling like Christmas tree!
My favorite thing is decorating the tree with an assortment of ornaments from the past and adding a couple of new ones. We listen to Disney Christmas and Elvis Christmas. Always so much fun and special!

I celebrate Christmas Eve with my husband’s side of the family. I have 2 favorites about Christmas, the 1st is celebrating the birth of Jesus & the 2nd is seeing Christmas through the eyes of my daughters, ages 5 & 3.
On Christmas eve we normally spend it calling home to wish everyone a good Christmas. My husband and I are normally up late watching movies and wrapping gifts!!!
We spend it driving from Ontario to Florida so we can spend the day with my parents.
Christmas Eve is our family reunion, always held in my grandma’s house. What we do is we cook tons of food, each family will bring their best dish also, we eat together, play some games for the adults and the kids, spend time with each other, then we have exchange of gifts. And also that is my sister’s birthday, so Christmas Eve is always a big event in our family.
We spend Christmas week with my family. My mom always finagles it so I sing during the Christmas Eve service. Then we come home and have a buffet type dinner (with cake pops!) and my daughter writes her letter to Santa and “goes to bed.” :)
Normally we spend Christmas with my mother’s side of the family. Ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner, lots and lots of Christmas cookies, and Rummoli into the late hours of the night on Christmas Eve, then stockings and presents on Christmas morning, and a full turkey dinner.
Christmas Eve night begins with a beautiful candlelit service at my church, ending with cocoa and goodies around the tree with my family as we each open a gift :)
It’s a tradition in my family to have a big meal with shrimp at my mom’s on Christmas Eve. She used to cater a meal for the local newspaper on Christmas Eve and they always served shrimp. She brought leftovers home and even though she doesn’t cater any more, the shrimp is still a tradition.
I usually spend my Christmas Eves with my fiancee’s family, going to mass and then coming home for a game night! I’m hoping some year to revive the Christmas Eve’s of my childhood, where the whole family would get together for chili and oyster soup, stay the night, and then have a big breakfast the next morning!

Christmas Eve is always spent at home. Sometimes a grandparent or two is here, sometimes not, but we’re always home. Cookies for Santa, one present before bedtime and a roaring fire (even in Florida!). Can’t wait!

On Christmas Eve every year, we go to a different family members house to celebrate with everyone! It has been a tradition since before I was born. There are about 30 people that attend every year! I’d love to bring some of these amazing cake pops to the event!
On Christmas Eve we’re making our way to my parents’ house (5-6 hour drive). I would love to make some cake pops from your book!
On Christmas Eve, my mother, my aunt, and I go 7-Eleven hopping….. drinking Slurpees and looking at Christmas lights!

My favorite part about the holidays is by far the quality time spent with family. Whether it be watching our favorite Christmas movies, going out to see the lights or decorating cookies with my sister and mom, Christmas has always been a great time of year and a good time to think back on how blessed we are.

If we’re not having family dinner on Christmas eve, or if I’m not traveling somewhere, then I am probably at home, wrapped up in blankets with my man drinking hot chocolates and eating some holiday cookies while watching some random movie. It’s nice to relax after the madness that is the Holiday Season.

Christmas Eve consists of Church and family dinner. So special and beautiful.
Christmas Eve for me is spent with my husband’s family. It is a large Polish family, and they still do some of their old Polish traditions that had been done for generations. Just at the family celebration – there are 4 generations present. My kids ( in their 20’s & 30’s) look forward to this celebration, and soon their own kids will be looking forward to them also!
My favorite part of the holidays is baking Christmas cookies with my mom and we have family dinner at my grandparents on Christmas eve and open presents!
My favorite part of the holiday is decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, listening to my kids play Christmas music on the piano, hot cocoa and warm chocolate chip cookies for Santa. I just love the spirit of giving everyone has this time of year.

I spend Christmas Eve wrapping presents and preparing holiday baking for the big Christmas party the next day.
We always go to our church’s Christmas Eve service, then home to enjoy goodies. Everyone gets to open only ONE present. The rest have to wait ’til morning!
My favorite part of the season is when we drive around and look at all the beautiful lights then after we go back home for white hot chocolate with peppermint marshmallows.

We always jam to old school Christmas music and have a huge family dinner ending with opening one present early! The best part is being with family eating and drinking and being thankful to have them all together.
My husband and I go to church on Christmas Eve and then drive around looking at Christmas lights. Then my boys wear their new Christmas pjs to bed and stay in them all day on Christmas!
My favorite part of the holiday season is driving around town at night looking at all the christmas lights while its snowing. It’s all calm and sparkly and I love it.
Oh I LOVE the Christmas cake pops! It’s hard to say what my favorite part of Christmas is, but I really love driving around looking at Christmas lights. My daughters want the cake pops toy so bad! They love baking, and have helped me make a lot of cake pops.

My favourite part of the holidays is always watching World Junior hockey and drinking beer with my Dad on 26 Dec. That or watching everyone open their presents Christmas morning…but mostly the hockey ;)
Holidays have taken on a different meaning since we moved away from all of our extended family in 2010. What used to be spent with family, doing traditional dinners, has changed to just the four of us setting up our own traditions. Christmas Eve is now a time to watch a Christmas movie, reflect on the birth of Jesus, and getting our Christmas jammies.
My favorite part of the holiday season is all the amazing drinks! Peppermint hot chocolate, pumpkin spice lattes, eggnog, spiced cider, and so many more!

I spend every Christmas Eve with my fiance’s family at their huge annual holiday party. They are a big, crazy, Italian family so they throw the best parties! Last year was super special because it’s the night I got engaged after five years of dating!

My favorite part of the holiday season is having all my family together. My husband is usually deployed on a ship (U.S. Navy) all year long, but once Thanksgiving/Christmas comes around he is back home with me and my 4-year old son. I also LOVE doing an advent calendar with my son. He gets super excited everyday to open a little box. It’s a great way to countdown the days ’til Christmas!
P.S. I just received your new book in the mail (pre-ordered from Amazon) but would love a signed copy!!! My son would be sooo happy to have his own cake pop set, he always wants to help when I make them! (*^^*)

We haven’t figured out a new Christmas Eve tradition as we’re young families who keep adding children, but as a child it was pretty much the same. We’d visit Grandma on Christmas Eve, then upon returning home mum would usually go to bed while my brother, father and I would stay up watching movies until 5 am when we’d wake Mum to open presents. Dad worked nights so staying awake all night was his normal.
My favourite part? I love the baking! And involving my kids with the baking – they love cutting out the cookies and helping decorate whatever confection I’ve got going.
I also love having leftover apple pie for breakfast over the next few mornings …. yum!
I usually spend christmas eve with my immediate and extended family eating tamales and yummy mexican food. We always have a secret santa for all the family and ring Christmas Day with hugs and kisses at midnight.

Christmas Eve is always a family night, we unwrap one gift, and pick another one out to set aside until after Christmas Day supper…then of course cookies and milk for Santa!
