Hey guys and YAY!!!!!! …… I feel like I need to scream that right now. I guess you’ve noticed a little lack of baking lately. I’m sorry about that. I’ve been away from the blog for a few weeks but everything is fine. (Thanks for your sweet emails asking if I was okay.) I’ve just been moving to a new house and my kitchen has been all packed up for a while. And on top of that, I’ve been without internet for almost two weeks, too. Can you say stir crazy? … Because that would be me. But they finally got it up and going last night. YAYAYAY! So now that I’m starting to get all settled in to my new space, I’m way excited to start baking again … and in a new oven.

I have a tattoo of a shamrock on my shoulder so I take my luck with me. (It’s also a shout-out to my mom, who has the strongest ability to find four-leaf clovers than I’ve ever seen!) I’m debating about my second tattoo — “harmony” on my wrist, a reminder to always seek harmony in life, whether through music or relationships.

I DO have a real tattoo… a few actually. I very beautiful piece of Chinese calligraphy on my leg that means ‘Peace’. Now, not that i don’t believe strongly in peace, but now nearly 40, I like to tell folks who ask that it means ‘chocolate pudding’ instead.
The ice cream cones are cute but I really love the birthday cake just because cake is my favorite thing to eat. No real tattoos yet, I’m only 61 so I want to think about getting one carefully!

I have a few but some of my favorites are my black cat in a pretty ornate frame on my thigh, my cupcake equipped with a bow and batwings, and my candy ribbon bow with a big colorful lollipop and other candies around it on my foot :)
I don’t have any tattoos, but my husband and I were on one of those Rock ‘n Roll half marathons in Nashville and we stopped in to get smiley faces on the bottom of our big toes b/c how funny would it be if you were laying at the pool somewhere and looked over and saw that smiley face smiling back at you?! Howev, they wouldn’t do it b/c they said the palms of our hands and the soles of our feet constantly slough off skin, so it wouldn’t last, plus it’d be pretty painful. It’s still funny tho and I’m always searching for temporary tattoos of smiley faces but haven’t had any luck. ;)

When I was 19, I got a small tattoo on my shoulder of musical notes. Years later, it became obvious that the ink was bad. (You could run your fingers over the tattoo and it felt like braille. Ick.) When I turned 30, I went to a nice, clean studio and had it covered it up with a celtic design.

I have 4 real tattoos. My first goes across my upper back and is a tribal that comes to a heart in the center with a monarch butterfly in it. My second and third I got at the same time; they are on the sides of my upper calves. On the left is a hand drawn water moon and on the right is a hand drawn fire sun. My husband got the exact same things on his forearms at the same time. My 4th is a heart shaped yin-yen in pink and purple above my right ankle that I got in the same place and the same time as my best friend in the whole world.

I don’t have a tattoo, but I always wear a bracelet that has the words of my late daughter’s tattoo, Joie de Vie (in her own handwriting, on her left wrist). After she passed, a bunch of her friends had me print out the picture, so they could have it recreated on themselves (some in the same place, some on other body parts).
